can be no golden age without the golden state. it's a great state. it's a fantastic place. and we're going to have a we're going to have a big celebration soon. we're going to come back and we'll come back as much as you need, and we're going to turn it around and we're going to open the coffers. you know, america wants us to be taken care of. this was a horrible thing to watch. and the way it just kept going and going, and then they'd find another area. it was like it was like a genius on the other side. the fire was a genius the way it kept moving. but we're not going to stand for it. i just met with the olympic people and they're all set to do a real job. so we have the olymp fox m chanley painter in new york for israeli female soldiers.
2:01 am
soldiers are now in the hands of the idf and have crossed into israel after being released by hamas. they are the latest hostages to be freed under the gaza ceasefire and hostage deal. in return, israel will release 200 palestinian prisoners. the first phase of the ceasefire agreement is expected to last five more weeks. under the terms, 30 more israeli hostages, including those released today, will be freed during this time. for the very latest, let's go to fox news chief foreign correspondent trey yingst live in tel aviv. trey, good morning. what can you tell us? >> hey, good morning, karina arroyave, daniella gilboa, naama levy and larry alberg. four israeli hostages are now home. they're meeting with their families right now along the gaza border. after being released from hamas captivity earlier today, there was an organized handover in gaza city at palestine square, at which
2:02 am
point hamas paraded these hostages across a stage as people cheered in the area of gaza city. they were then released into the custody of the red cross and taken to an idf reunification point along the gaza border, and that is where they remain at this moment, where they're able to meet their parents. they'll be evaluated by a team of doctors and psychologists, and then flown to a hospital just north of tel aviv. all of this coming together as part of that ceasefire agreement. this is the second group of hostages to be released from gaza. and israel's top spokesman for the military, daniel hagari, just commented on the situation, saying that they are indeed back in israeli territory, adding that during this time the israelis must remember those soldiers that fell alongside these four israeli soldiers who were taken from an observation unit at the nahal oz base along the gaza border
2:03 am
on october 7th. hagari goes on to say that hamas did not obey to the agreement. they did not adhere to the terms of the deal. they were supposed to be releasing civilian hostages first, and that still the israeli people are waiting for the remaining civilians to be released from gaza as part of this agreement. but again, the latest information that we have, four female israeli soldiers were just released from hamas captivity as part of this broader ceasefire agreement. >> trey, what can you tell us about next steps for these four brave young women? >> so the next steps, they'll be meeting with their mothers and fathers at this reunification point along the gaza border. and then they will be taken to a local hospital here in central israel. and they're likely to stay there for a number of days. we do expect to get some images of these young women not only reuniting with their parents, but also with their friends and family, who will likely meet them at this hospital in central israel. this has been
2:04 am
more than 477 days of waiting for the israeli people to have this moment. and in hostage square, a place in tel aviv where people have gathered across from israel's version of the pentagon, the kirya, we saw images of people cheering and celebrating because, again, it's been more than 15 months of war and there was so much uncertainty around these individuals. and already we're hearing over text message from some family members just a sense of relief that these women are now back in israel, being reunited with their loved ones. and the hope here is that this will be just the second part of first phase of the first phase, and ultimately that more hostages alive will be able to make their way back into israel over the next several weeks as part of phase one of this agreement. and again, as we talked about earlier, while we see these images of hostages returning to israel, we do understand around 200 palestinian prisoners will be freed in the coming hours. 70 of them are expected to be
2:05 am
deported. among that 200, 120 are currently serving life sentences in israeli prisons. >> and we are looking now back to moments ago, when those four female israeli soldiers were essentially paraded around gaza city, palestine square, where you can see armed hamas militants there with a lot of pomp and circumstance, as you mentioned earlier with this message, a show of force that their command and control is still intact. this, as you mentioned, is viewed in gaza as a victory for hamas, is it not? >> absolutely. hamas and islamic jihad are treating this entire situation as a victory. and part of the reason is that you had israeli officials from very early in this conflict saying that hamas battalions and brigades in northern gaza,
2:06 am
for example, where you saw this exchange today, were destroyed, and clearly they are not destroyed. they still have weapons and fighters. and so it illustrates one message. and that message is that israel did not complete one of their two goals for the war, bringing the hostages home and defeating and destroying hamas. they are not only able to conduct a display of propaganda, as we saw today, but they're also able to govern. they have police officers back in the streets of gaza city, and they're able to create signs like one of the signs that you saw in the video there that said, quote, zionism won't prevail. this is really an effort to play a psychological game with the israelis to say, look, you fought us for more than 15 months. you killed thousands of our people, and yet we are still alive and prepared to fight. and so they are using this moment as a moment of propaganda to gain popular support, not just in gaza, but
2:07 am
also in the west bank. and the exchange of hostages for prisoners is also something that is broadly popular across the west bank and also in gaza to get palestinian prisoners out of israeli jails. it is something that is seen as a main objective for hamas and the leadership that is still alive. and just to step back here and just give you one other important piece of information as it relates to hamas efforts to create propaganda in this broader cease fire agreement overnight, there was a documentary that was released by al jazeera, and it showed the former mastermind behind the october 7th massacre, yahya sinwar, fighting and planning inside gaza. and i felt that this documentary really will be something that hamas will use as, again, a broader piece of information to show that they were not defeated, but they they fought in a war against
2:08 am
israel, because in this documentary, you saw yahya sinwar in a house inside southern gaza in the city of rafah, the city we talked about so many times. and in the house you could see hebrew writing on the walls, an indication that israeli forces had been in this house and then left, at which point yahya sinwar, with his small team of hamas militants, went into the house and laid a map out on the floor and were planning future attacks against the israelis. so as we look forward here, we can expect more of these types of videos to come out of gaza amid this agreement. >> incredible, trey, incredible information. thank you for your time this morning. we'll let you get back to following this developing news as, again, people in israel at hostage square celebrating with joy and relief the return of four of their female israeli soldiers in a hostage release deal. this week, we also have jameel jaffer. he's the director of the national security law and policy program at george mason university, and former chief counsel and senior advisor for
2:09 am
the senate foreign relations committee. thank you for again, joining me, your reaction to what we've been watching unfold live this morning. >> obviously, a big day for the israeli community, the entire israeli community, to get these these four young women, 119 year old and 320 year old female soldiers back, but they're going to pay a high price for it. they're going to trade for every one of these female soldiers that's coming home. they're going to trade 50 palestinian detainees. 30 of each of those, 50 are serving life sentences. these are people who have committed murder, plotted terrorist plots, the like. and so at a high price, today's today's exchange, but an important one to get these four young men back. >> how fragile is this cease fire agreement in your opinion and assessment so far? will we actually see this to fruition? >> well, look, i do think that we if all goes well, we will see our way through these next 6 or 7 releases that are going to take place. i think the
2:10 am
challenge is, you know, there is no real incentive beyond continuing the cease fire for hamas to stop fighting. you saw on as these women were handed over armed fighters in the streets and covering their faces. and so, you know, we will see what happens. but i think the phase of getting the hostages back will, will, will hopefully last. and then and then from there, you know, we'll see if they can get to a phase two. >> trey and i were talking about how this show of force that we again see from moments ago in gaza city of hamas, their command and control still seemingly intact, that the goal one of the goals of this war for israel after the terrorist attack of october 7th, defeating and destroying hamas, has yet to be achieved here. how do you believe politically moving forward? in the last moments that we have, the israeli government can address those concerns among not only the security cabinet, but those
2:11 am
who didn't. they want to see the hostages home, right? but at the same time, they want total victory here. >> yeah. well, you know, as trey pointed out, the national security minister is ben-gvir did resign as a result of the deal being made. now, i think probably if you were to poll the israeli population on average, they want the hostages back. and that's what's happening here. and that's what the prime minister and his government. prime minister netanyahu and his government are responding to at the same time, you know, look, we're hearing reports in just in the last few days that hamas has added between 10 to 15,000 new fighters since the october 7th attacks. i think, you know, when we were last together, we talked a little bit about why that may be, because they control the food coming into gaza, and they're using it to exploit other people. so israel has an uphill battle ahead of it, you know, to destroy hamas and its military organization. at the same time, its command and control certainly has suffered significantly. but you see here, as we were talking about earlier, that they're able to organize a large event, they're able to stage it, they're able to make it look
2:12 am
like they want it to, and they're able to parade these women around. and so that demonstrates some amount of capacity. >> we will continue to follow this. thank you, jameel jaffer, for your time. the good news is, though, that those four women you see on the screen are now back on israeli soil in the hands of the idf and have crossed into israel. they are going to be treated. we'll continue following tng this onx news. stay with us as we send you back to regular programing. >> you'll be back. emus can't help people customize and save with liberty mutual. >> and doug. >> well, i'll be. >> only pay for what you need. >> liberty, liberty, liberty, liberty. >> green thumb stick for rory. >> never thought she would live out her dream. then one day, she did. you were made to chase your passions. we were made to put them in a package. >> this past year has been one of the hardest in my pillows

that governor healey in massachusetts, a democrat, she was going to use every tool in her arsenal to fight back against trump, but she made an about face. why do you think that is and will others follow? >> i think she made an about face. i don't know all that, she said. but i did see some of those things and she is now in full support of these things. i think people realize that when you're able to make your streets safer, and you are able to reduce the cost of taking care of people whom many in your community don't want in your community, i think that's a positive thing. i think you'll find more and more electeds, and i think your question really is focused on democrats, and particularly those who may have said that their cities or states would be more sanctuary like, i think they're going to hear from voters. you've seen, even in chicago, where a big core of the voting population there and a big constituency, a lot of big constituency groups there, including a lot of african americans, are saying, we can't afford this. why is this happening now? this group here that the president is taking

out? these are what what tom homan said are the worst of the people here. i'm a believer our country is built, has been built over the years on accepting people who want to come and play by the rules and want to come and live the great american dream. but when you come and commit crimes and the kind of heinous crimes and violent crimes people are committing, there is no question the president will continue to enjoy support for this. and as i said yesterday, this is how you keep that coalition together that elected you, mr. president, back in 2024. it could get a little dicey. this thing goes on. but people are going to continue to support this. >> you know, shannon harold said when the democrats realized that it's making the streets safer, as if they couldn't figure that out before some you know what i think it is, shannon? i think it's a recognition that they're going to be charged with obstruction, with interfering, and they don't want to be taken out in cuffs, okay? they cannot stop it. but this mayor johnson is already in chicago. brandon johnson has already spent a half $1 billion in chicago, and he's got a campaign starting to
2:20 am
know your rights. he said he wants to protect people. do you want to protect americans or illegals? >> well, and that's the question. there are the optics now that democrats have to contend with as well, because chicago is one of the places where some federal officials have said, we want to go in the jails and get the bad guys and take them out of here, but we can't go into the jail. so i don't know what the argument is there for protecting bad guys. i'm not sure what that argument is, but that's a hard one for democrats to make. so if tom homan and others are going out there saying, we're going after people convicted of all kinds of things like rape and assault and attempted murder and that kind of stuff, you can't stand there as a governor healy or anyone else to say, like, we're going to keep up these efforts. and as you mentioned, this executive order says two things. we can either come after you civilly or criminally if you impede this federal operation, or the president has ordered these agencies to look at cutting off federal funding to these places as well. >> all right, greg shannon just mentioned, you know, we can go into the jails. should these illegals these illegals who are

to keep the guys that are rape kids or trying to sell kids from being their guardian. again, this is free money for trump, he is not creating new laws, simply enforcing the existing laws and everybody is looking at it going, whoa, so we can do this? i had no idea. this is what happens when you get rid of the hoaxes, when you get rid of the hoaxes, you get rid of these pushers of hoaxes in the media, now you see that there is nothing to fear when you follow the law. nobody is turning into hitler. there are no concentration camps. it was all a lie. >> judge jeanine: yes indeed. now these illegals, jesse, have been able to and have literally been exempted from the united states laws, and the question now is, i mean, do you -- and i am just curious as to what the thinking is, they spend jail time here or just deport them? >> jesse: on the one hand it is expensive to imprison these people but if you deport them
2:23 am
and they sneak back in, that's another issue. so i am with greg, it depends on the crime. if it is a hard-core crime, i say we imprison them here. if it is just a small misdemeanor, send them back and take the risk. remember the talking point about not all migrants are criminals. so what? and look at all of these criminals going home, and all it did, it took a show of force. just the visual of having these c-130s out hovering over the border, do you know how scared people are now? they used two average thousands of border apprehensions per day. after trump came in, a couple hundred. no one is even making the track anymore. it looks to me like johnson in chicago wants to get arrested. it looks like he wants to be a martyr, and he wants to now being known for defending criminal illegal aliens. if he does that and the media
