lutnick and really the focus will be on kennedy. because health and human services is in an absolute mess and a disaster, but he's taken some positions that i think some people are going to question. but boy -- president trump is adamant that he get in there and i think he talks a lot of common sense. shannon: maybe he will. he's really connect with a lot of american people talking about the health and save the of our food and of our young people and what people are exposed to that connected with a lot of people who have the same concerns. it's interesting because he's got some support we think from democrats and republicans but he's also got critiques from democrats and republicans. will have the doesn't like some of what he's had to say about some of the vaccinates. the right is worried about his position on abortion so he's going to have to answer concerns from both sides when e had attacks that chair on wednesday or thursday. >> such a great interesting point shannon that you know, the make america healthy again has a

lot of bipartisan support. it's such an interesting pick because as you say he's pro-choice we had on someone earlier today a guy named kevin from real alternatives. and hhs could end planned parenthoods funding right? the government could end planned parenthood funding i'm sorry congress could and hhs could then fund help for women who are facing, you know, unen played pregnancies that's something that he could actually do something really substantive and pro-life and still maintain his position. shannon: think about our federal agencies like hhs it is huge. it covers and touches so many things in our lives. and they've got tons of regulatory power, some critics will say congress is advocated too much of that and this administrative state now can make all of these rules but it gives hhs a lot of freedom when it comes to promulgating regulations and making decisions about where money flows and all kinds of things. so he's going to have a lot of

power on that front if he becomes secretary. charlie: president trump is waste nothing time pushing through his entire agenda including his effort to end birthright citizenship. a judge is put a temporary hold on that decision. where do you see that going from here? shannon: well i don't think that the trump team is surprised by that at all they knew this would immediately go to court and multiple lawsuits and it could end up at the supreme court because listen the 14th amendment been around for a long time a lot of pipe cite back to the 18 98 supreme court decision which is not an exact parallel to now. so there's been a lot of jurisprudence and changes in our border and immigration all of these things over time. so would the justices get to a different interpretation than what most people have seen as the wording of the 14th amendment what it means over the last century plus. i don't know. but it appears that this administration is aimed at getting it there to get an answer and the answer may be you have to amend the constitution

♪ ♪ right now hollywood reeling in the wake of devastating fires as more productions are forced out of the state or put on hold. charlie: our next guest spent decades in the industry and california is on verge of losing all for good. producer production manager michael miller joins us now michael than for joining us so what's the big threat to california right now? >> good morning you guys the beggest threat right now the phrase called run away production runway post production which is so many shows and movies have been enticed to go work in other states because states are offering huge tax incentives to bring that business to them. so over the last few years, california has lost about ten billion dollars in almost 40,000 jobs in production to states

like georgia, new mexico, and louisiana. combine that with the fears that we're dealing with right now, people have been looking for work, and they don't have a choice. they have nowhere to go. they have no homes, and now the jobs are leaving. make it is very tough for people to stay to keep the industry working in california right now. so there's this petition going around as you mentioned, 6,000 people is not that much yet. it just started there are a lot of big names coming on to it. but there's a real push -- to get california to match these other incentives to keep the jobs here. people have really struggling. >> so michael for those who don't know who you are you are a big time producer your job if somebody has a movie or tv show they come to you and say how much does it cost if i do it in l.a. in georgia, if i do it in las vegas. if i do it in ireland australia which is where a lot of these are going. so it is not just that we're in

danger of losing hollywood. as we know it -- but also that it is not just going move to georgia or ireland somewhere else these states are offering incentives tax incentives why doesn't california and why doesn't hollywood itself do more to encourage your government in california to make it more business friendly environment? >> that is an excellent question, and california does have incentives but they were never the nearly what they are in other states and to go overseas for sure. right now there's a bill waiting the governor is reviewing. but, of course, it is the overregulation and a lot of rules that are standard for california. right? they love to overregulate everything. at this time when we're -- expediting permits and waivers to rebuild homes and this is a team in the legislature needs to

get together and match what those other incentives are, and to make it a fair playing field for us because right now it is really not fair at all. jason: that's what's interesting about it because you know californians they have to attack it in their own hands they make life so expensive put all of these rules and regulations into it, and so, you know, it is kind of hard to say hey, well the rest of america said should supplement it. >> i agree with you completely, and you know the president and his administration are very focused on common sense. i would hope that the california state legislature can have that same kind of common sense and really do what's right here and what's needed to keep the jobs in california. jason: nobody wants to -- nobody wants to see people suffer along the way. i think in the entertainment as a whole united states does it better than the entire rest of the world. it is a competitive bid advantage for the united states and we need to keep that and all

think hit people really hard in terms of thinking outside the box. so i do think that this is a real campaign pledge for him. i think it is something that could move the economy. a lot of economists that i speak to say last taxings everywhere is always a good thing. we always want more money in our pockets. i don't the government having stewardship of my money and it puts against others dishwasher who isn't getting tipped still has tacks. maybe the cleaning lady who doesn't get tips still has taxes so again these are all issues that trump and i know congress will be thinking through. but no tax on tips is certainly been a headline in something i think trump wants to follow through with. >> it is a recognition how important people who work are, and recognition that that's where our economy is based in terms of not having to pay tax on tips, it is also i would

think and i don't know -- because i don't currently work for tips. but i would think that in terms of like filing it is not that complicated. it is not that hard to achieve is it? >> i imagine what would be nice instead of 88,000 irs agents coming after me send them to border and let me deal with my venmo tip, however, i do that it can't be complicated aen take pressure off of people. when you think about how much inflation has port hurt people if i get to keep the extra 40 to 80 bucks that client has venn mowed me or keep extra 50 if i'm out to a nice restaurant and i'm a server that is a game changer not having to report that. i think simplifies things, and really changes the game for people who have really struggled with inflation the last four to five years.

[laughter] >> hi rachel we're so excited to be here and so excited to talk to use. so arie and i basically went on this journey where i had been walking with jesus for a couple of years. and he had absolutely saved my life radically healed my heart an my mental health, and then i meet arie who was in sort of a similar situation that i was. and then she starts reading the bible and she starts having a relationship with jesus. and we see the same thing that jesus did for me and my life he did for my best friend and hers and so we're on this journey together where we're finding jesus we're finding christian community, we're going from living in the world to living lives fully laid down and devoted to jesus, and then we basically were in a conversation one day realized that so many people don't have an accurate view of who god is. so many people don't know who jesus is as a father and as a

healer as a friend, and we realized that like -- there are so many people who may never step into a church would never step foot into a church and would possibly watch a podcast. so we decided to go into a studio together and film an episode and the rest is truly history. [laughter] rachel: i think about the early evangelists. they did essentially what you're doing, you know going to where the people are at and this case it is podcasts your motto is we're two imperfect girls serving a perfect god i love it. aria what's been the reaction my girls are into it. qhar you hearing from the public you're rising up the charts. who's coming to your podcast? >> you know what it is -- we just started our live shows and we're truly seeing all walks of life. i mean, girls that are ten to 65 women and men, it's we have such a diverse, diversity of people

that are coming. which is such a gift. it's basically people that aren't alone. we are two girls who come from a place of we are so imperfect we come from the darkness our lives are so far from we weren't raised in christian -- in christianity. so we come from a place of you're not alone and we're going to get through this together so just a gift to open up not hide not put up a facade that our lives are perfect because truth is people are hurting they're broken and they want to know that they're not alone so it's been a gift to have a jjb family that we can all do this together. do this walk together. >> so you actually met in the entertainment business which as you say is a dark place. you also had this great moment this past week lank where you got to pray over the president before the inauguration tell us about that moment.

>> i mean, it was such an honor and so special, i mean, i'm like an immigrant so my parents came to the country when i was about a year old and they came here and they were, you know, starry eyed so excited to be in the land of the free. so excited to be in america, and you know, all of these years later from my parents to see their little girl with hopes of, you know, putting food on the table for us to see me up there with the honor of praying for our president was like it was such a surreal moment for all of us and we were so grateful that they would allow us to come and pray a prayer the way that we did. they you know what i loved more than anything is that they gave us the free liberty to say whatever we wanted do whatever we wanted there was no censoring there was no -- hey, could we water this down a
