other gang members. some of the gangs had what they call switch. it is added to the gun to make it fully automatic and it turns a glock gun into a machine gun and we arrested some with murder convictions walking the streets, and sexual predators, mostly child predators, and we arrested people with assault allegations, extreme sexual assault. these are all bad people. public safety threats. they shouldn't be walking the streets of chicago. if they weren't a sanctuary city, we would have arrested them in the safety and the security of a jail rather than released in the community and putting the community at greater risk of crime and assaults. >> something crazy happened in chicago at the end of last week, two secret service agents went to a local elementary school because they were running themselves on a threat that was on tik tok and they left cards and said, look, here's how you get back to us. suddenly the story became it was i.c.e. agents who went to the school, tom.

down a threat made on tik tok, and they were not i.c.e. agents, and i.c.e. never went near the school, and what do you say to pedro martinez and the governor of i illinois that appear to be selling fear. >> he lied. he knew it was secret service agents and i talked to the people involved. they left their credentials, and he knew who was there. sewing fear in the immigrant community, and the governor, rather than calling i.c.e. and asking us did it happen or not happen? he goes on social media and terrifies elementary schools that i.c.e. agents are walking in there. he accuses me of terrifying the community. no, he terrified the community and the children. i.c.e. did yesterday? they saved children and we arrested 9 sexual predators, many child predators, and we didn't go to the schools and scare the children. and the governor needs to give an apology and he is plain wrong and by doing that put fear in

the community that shouldn't be there. and children shouldn't have fear that i.c.e. agents are walking into the elementary school and arresting them. >> sandra: tom, i don't know if you had a chance to see the video going viral over the past hour or so, and we're working to clear it and in fact the hollywood celebrity that posted it deleted probably because she faced backlash for it noting that the majority of respondents are in favor of deportation of criminal and gang members, and she posted a video sobbing and crying in it and said all of my people are being attacked with the picture of the mexican flag. again she has taken it down. what do you say to those who are out there saying that these are everyday people -- these are families that are being attacked and dragged out of their homes. how do you respond to that? >> i don't think we arrested any families. we arrested public safety threats and national security threats. bottom line. look, president trump won the election on this one issue: securing our border and saving lives.
10:14 am
this -- what happened on the southern border the last 4 years is the biggest national security threat our country has seen and 600% increase in sex trafficking, and a record number of terrorists crossing the border on terrorist watch list, and quarter million of americans dying from fentanyl coming across the open border. we're going to do this job and we're going to enforce the laws of the country. if you don't like it, go to congress and change the law. we're going to do the separatios operation without apology. and once we lock the border, you'll see fentanyl deaths decrease, and alien illegal crime decrease, and sex trafficking decrease, and it's all for the good of the nation and we're going to keep going. no apologies, we're moving forward. >> john: one quick question to finish it off here. president trump twisted the arm of colombia's president, gustavo petro, and got him to reverse course in a matter of hours, but we don't have repatriation agreements with venezuela or with china. what do you do with people from those two countries apprehended? >> first of all, we got president trump. they will take 'em back.
10:15 am
i'm convinced because under first trump administration, el salvador would not take ms-13 members and it took president trump 48 hours and we were filling planes in el salvador and ms-13, and mexico, they didn't want to put the military on the southern border and we did it. a strong -- >> you're dealing with president xi. >> if they don't take it, we'll find a third safe country and i have third countries willing to take nationals from any country from us, and we're working on those agreements. if we can't move them one place, we'll put them somewhere else. >> sandra: thank you, tom. >> john: see you soon. and crews helping to put out southern california wildfires and the downpour creating fresh problems. what we know about the new risks ahead. >> sandra: a chinese start-up hammering global tech stocks and here is the moment that nasdaq plunged in midday trading with all of this came out. it's raising new questions about u.s. dominance in artificial

pocket at night, you shouldn't have to pay a tax on that. i think that the way they're setting it up is there would be a certain amount of tips that would be tax deductible. i think it's a good way to do it. i like what the waitress said by the way, she said, you know, when you're a tipped worker, you get paid more when you do a really good job when you provide the service that the customer wants. i love that. it's pay for performance. >> sandra: it goes back toe baco what republicans say about lower taxes, incentivizes people to work harder to take home more of their hard earned money. people know they will spend their money better than the government will. robert, i will give you a final thought on that before i ask you about the market. >> well, i did play golf with president trump years ago. and i would tell you his caddies were good to me on the putts. >> sandra: okay. got it. understood. can i understand about the market movement? i can't show you the nasdaq, the

nasdaq is down 700 points. about a 3.5% drop, and the dow has been -- it was down a bit this morning and flatline, and the tech-heavy nasdaq is where we see the hit mostly right now, and the dow has turned positive here, in fact. the wall street journal is talking about -- you know, nvidia stock which has taken a huge sit and it's sinking on the a.i. rout sparked by china's deepseek. how much fear realistically is out there, steve, and help people understand why this is such a big deal. >> well, i hope it's not a big deal. because i've made a lot of money on nvidia stock over the last two years, and i don't want to see it disappear. i happen to think that this is a lot of hype. i think there's a bit of -- you know, fake news here with respect to the chinese catching up with us. i'm going to continue to bet oa. i don't know if my friend robert

agrees with me, i love what silicone valley is doing in terms of the new era of robotics and a.i. >> sandra: things have changed on the fox news channel and we can show you the nasdaq live, and there is the selloff, and robert, safe to say there are fears in the technology world and no doubt there are huge bets all over the world on artificial intelligence. so what does this news mean for all of them? >> well, listen, i'm going to partially disagree with steve. i'm not questioning how good silicone valley is with respect to a.i. and robotics and start-ups. but with that being said, this is huge news. and it's not positive. china just showed through deepseek over the last few days that even with export controls, okay, they can actually go toe to toe to us with a.i. in a more efficient, more cost effective way and more timely basis.
10:28 am
deepseek did this without the top nvidia chips because of the export control, and did it supposedly less than $10 million when you have microsoft, google, meta, you know, spending billions and billions of dollars. we know openai chatgpt raised $6 billion. and they are the number 1 app over the weekend, and the llm -- the large language process models are showing that the deepseek ones on reasonableness is going toe to toe with what we've done in the states. i think this is absolutely no time to be complacent, and i think this is scary. >> sandra: a lot of companies that are focusing on this news right now, and a lot of investors, as well, as you can see the nasdaq down 700 points. that's a 3.5% move. you know, i always say to people who want their kids to golf, i say have them caddie first, and you learn the etiquette and the rules before you ever take a swing. i highly recommend it.

jordan and egypt refusing to take in gazans or palestinians, is the idea feasible? >> well, john, it's a great question. i think clearly the neighboring countries surrounding gaza can do more and need to do more to help address the suffering that was brought on by hamas' attack by israel, and the dirty little secret in the middle east is that lots of governments there couldn't care less about the palestinians. it's easier for them to sit on the sidelines and point fingers and criticize israel rather than rolling up their sleeves and getting to work. what president trump is doing is calling on jordan and egypt and others to put their money where their mouth is. it's time to step up, it's time to provide the support and the assistance that you say the gazans need. let's show them the money. let's work together and find a solution that is going to actually meet the humanitarian needs rather than just running in front of a television camera

peace in ukraine, and what to you does it look like? >> i think president trump understands the value of leverage at least as anybody in the world. if we want the war to end and we do, the killing has to stop and we want it to end on terms favourable to the united states and our partners. what that means in particular is we simply can't let russia hit the pause button, use a ceasefire to rearm and then another crack at ukraine six months, a couple years from now. we've seen this play before, right. this is what happened during the obama administration and then the biden administration. a pause is simply a recursor to renewed hostilities, we can't afford that. we have to squeeze the economy and hit the banking sector, and biden could have done it three years ago. and it's great that president trump is talking about doing it now. >> sandra: got it. that's always leverage.
