with us. victor let me start with you as someone who has worked with ice and homeland security agencies. what is your reaction win you hear and address like that on opening day a quick. >> thank you were having me back martha. the first word that came to me was leadership. wow what a difference win you have someone that's engaging like the new secretary kristi noem is. this is what was -- is going to perk up the agents this is the morel the last four years how low it was amongst these agencies that were patrolling eye is. this is the difference maker we all know it starts at the top. win you see the leadership of these individuals and being on the scene some of these arrests really makes a difference to the field agents they know they are going to have the backup of their bosses. >> martha: jonathan fahey let me bring you in. win you watch these arrests like we saw this morning kristi noem
12:16 pm
carrying out with these base agents it occurs to me i know the pushback we are hearing from democrats and people who worked with the bite and a administration is we did those to taking people into custody but i don't ever remember seeing alejandro mayorkas anywhere near this kind of action. what's your response with. >> alejandro mayorkas was never near any of it and didn't want to do any of this. this is really the greatest thing they are doing, basically publicizing this because it brings attention to it and it has three benefits. it gets rid of criminals most rapidly, two that prevents people from coming in legally which we've seen from reporting less than 600 yesterday compared as you talked into your lead-in less than a thousand a day yesterday peer the cartels were making so much money off these illegal immigrants they were charging seven to $9000 per head so that's money being taken away
12:17 pm
from these cartels and finally the people who weren't being arrested that are here illegally it would be more law-abiding because they don't want to be arrested. all of these thanks are great thing and it's a moral boost because alejandro mayorkas and the vita administration did everything they could to cut the legs out from the i.c.e. agents and border patrol and across their morel. in doing so it made americans less safe. >> martha: yeah, david carlucci i remember alejandro mayorkas testifying with a straight face that the border was not open. i don't know how all these criminals got in here about the air here and now are being removed. why do we never see the homeland security secretary participating in the removal of criminals and people who worked out of the cartels create. >> imagine a simple reason many enforcement officers are out there saying this is reckless to identify and announce when you are doing these raids and where. for a few reason but most
12:18 pm
importantly it gives notice and most dangerous among them will flee. >> so that's why alejandro mayorkas never participated because he didn't want to give anyone -- i mean these people. >> it's not just about large numbers its about an actual policy. win you look at the people who have been picked up, thank goodness we are getting the most dangerous criminals out of here but over half of them are not dangerous criminals, there just undocumented. >> this is the worst first policy up your we have put up on the board why get examples of the kind of people being taken out child abusers and abusers. >> that's not all of them to their reports off -- >> martha: under the bandit administration were not removed david. >> no. we had more to port haitians under vita and then we had in the first term with donald trump. did we do a good job publicizing
12:19 pm
it we know a but it's not about a headline it's about a policy. >> martha: all right i am out of time i've got to let victor respond. go ahead victor. >> first of all they are not announcing and telling anyone what they will do, what they are doing is telling you after the fact what are in custody and in fact alejandro mayorkas was never present there he never had the -- never had the back of these agents for sure appear at this is the difference win leadership's presence. you'll see the morel boosted and agents perform their job better and there are going to be some collaterals but you heard tom homan say there are no more restrictions win it comes to picking up people undocumented in the country and that would be the big difference moving forward. >> you are right there is collaterals and that's the problem is moving and ask not a scalpel and that's going to lead to problems.
12:20 pm
>> i don't see any leadership where this is happening or anyone else with the possible exception of brandon johnson in chicago who seems to upset to say these people moving. gentlemen think you could to have you with us. coming up an exclusive with david sacks on the threat to all of us that exist if china is successful in winning the race in artificial intelligence. he joins me next. >> this will be very tempting to use ai as a weapon it'll be very tempting in fact it will be used as a weapon. so the on-ramp to serious ai, the danger is going to be more humans using it against each other i think most likely. that will be the danger. ht. pre-portioned packs makes it really easy to keep him lean and healthy. in the morning, he flies up the stairs

12:32 pm
huge economic ramifications and military applications. we want america to be the most powerful company then we have to be the leader in ai there are no two ways about it. so we have to compete. we know china has been very competitive they've got a lot of smart people to and a pretty high tech industry. it will be a very competitive race and we need to do everything can to win a think he should be unacceptable to any american to live in a world in which china could outcompete us in ai and reap the economic and military benefits of it. president trump i think started is in his first week in office. imposing hundreds of pages of regulations on ai companies. craft in a world without global competition seemed to thank we could slow companies down somehow china wouldn't take advantage of that. it's pretty obvious that if we hamstring our companies china is basically going to win the race.
