11:00 pm
binder. let's call her the minder. jim from rochester, michigan. would you ever consider sending johnny on an ice raid? yeah. we're also considering sending him to one of the briefings with caroline. anywhere else you want to send johnny? let me know. rick from celina, texas. who knew diplomacy came wrapped in latex? sarah from brunswick, ohio. is this the snitch line? i'd like to report greg gutfeld for some off color jokes. we should find him. rene from dundee, new york. if they tie your hands, are you still able to talk? that's all for tonight. dvr the show. apparently not. i'm watters. this is my world.
11:01 pm
>> and welcome. >> to hannity. >> and tonight we do have a big announcement at the end of the show. i'll give you a hint. i will be back in washington, d.c. tomorrow. all right. another busy day. nonstop action from the trump administration and the media. mob spinning in circles. predictably, this as some of the worst people in the dc swamp are trying to derail tulsi gabbard's nomination as donald trump's director of national intelligence. coming up, meghan mccain will join us. she wants to defend tulsi gabbard from what has been a pretty disgraceful smear campaign. let me just warn you, buckle up all week. it's going to be robert f kennedy jr. tulsi. kash patel. and it will be one attempt after another to bork, clarence thomas and brett kavanaugh. all of these nominees of president trump. so don't be surprised. also tonight, my interview with ukrainian president zelensky, i asked if he would be open to a negotiated settlement that takes nato off the table and
11:02 pm
some compromise on territorial issues. we'll tell you about his answer. i also asked him a question about whether or not ukraine will pay the u.s. back the couple of hundred billion dollars that the u.s. has given them. but first, today, after four long years, competency was restored to the white house press briefing room. new white house press secretary caroline leavitt stood behind the podium for her very first official briefing. she wasted no time taking down members of the state run legacy media mob. take a look. >> president trump has always been the hardest working man in politics. i think that's been proven over the past week, this president has again signed more than 300 executive orders. he's taken historic action. i gaggle aboard air force one to mark the first 100 days of this administration. 4 p.m. last friday, our first 100 hours. and this president did more in the first 100 hours than the previous president did in the first 100 days. the past four years, we've seen the biden administration spend money like
11:03 pm
drunken sailors. it's a big reason we've had an inflation crisis in this country, and it's incumbent upon this administration to make sure, again, that every penny is being accounted for. honestly, this administration is taking into consideration how hard the american people are working and their tax dollars actually matter to this administration. doge and omb also found that there was about to be 50 million taxpayer dollars that went out the door to fund condoms in gaza. that is a preposterous waste of taxpayer money. i would like to point out to each and every one of you that in 2024, when joe biden was in the oval office or upstairs in the residence sleeping, i'm not so sure. egg prices increased 65% in this country. i will say it's very easy to speak truth from this podium when you have a president who is implementing policies that are wildly popular with the american people. and that's exactly what this administration is doing. it's correcting the lies and the wrongs of the past four years. many of the lies that have been told to your faces in
11:04 pm
this very briefing room, i will not do that. but since you brought up truth seek, i would like to point out, while i vowed to provide the truth from this podium, we ask that all of you in this room hold yourselves to that same standard. >> by the way, she absolutely crushed it. a little shock and awe for the mainstream media mob. what a difference, by the way, a week makes. clearly today a star was born in that room. the previous administration, they used the press briefing room to peddle lies and misinformation and propaganda from a giant binder full of, you know, pre-written talking points. and of course, we're still waiting on jen psaki to circle back, especially on the egregious claim that the border is secure and closed as millions and millions of unvetted harris, biden, illegal immigrants poured across our borders right before our eyes. she flat out lied to us for years. biden kamala failed. dhs secretary alejandro mayorkas. they pushed
11:05 pm
this lie on you, the american people, while simultaneously allowing the greatest national security disaster in our nation's history to unfold. thankfully, there is a new sheriff in town, and that is former governor, dhs, dhs secretary kristi noem. she'll join us in a moment. she is not messing around. and on just her second day on the job, she joined an illegal immigration raid in the bronx and in new york city. writing on x, we are doing what president trump promised the american people. we are making our streets safe. that is what real leadership looks like now. throughout the morning, immigration officials, they partnered with federal law enforcement agencies to carry out all of these raids, arresting a number of criminal illegal aliens in our country. as the operation continued, secretary noem posted several updates touting the capture of what she described as dirtbags among the numerous criminal illegal aliens arrested was one
11:06 pm
of the alleged ringleaders of the violent venezuelan gang trend aragua, who was wanted on charges of kidnaping, burglary, menacing as part of the violent takeover of that apartment building in colorado. that's where a group of heavily armed men, you know, could be seen on video forcing their way into an apartment. the raids in new york city this morning are just the latest in the administration's nationwide crackdown in big cities and small towns all across the country. in fact, yesterday, the department of homeland security put out a statement announcing 7300 illegal aliens were arrested. and donald trump's first week alone, as of 11 a.m, i said there had already been nearly 1000 arrests made. just this morning, president trump reportedly wants at least 1800 arrests every single day. with millions and millions here. that's a doable number, according to the press secretary, caroline leavitt,
11:07 pm
who we just played. donald trump is deadly serious about cleaning up the illegal immigration disaster and the national security crisis that joe biden and kamala harris left behind. take a look. >> president trump has sent a loud and clear message to the entire world. america will no longer tolerate illegal immigration. so to foreign nationals who are thinking about trying to illegally enter the united states, think again. under this president, you will be detained and you will be deported. every day, americans are safer because of the violent criminals that president trump's administration is removing from our communities. >> the 3500 arrests ice has made so far since president trump came back into office. can you just tell us the numbers? how many have a criminal record versus those who are just in the country illegally. >> all of them, because they illegally broke our nation's laws and therefore they are criminals. as far as this administration goes. >> checkmate. naturally, not
11:08 pm
everybody is celebrating the trump administration and their efforts to make our country safer. you know, well, as per usual, reverting to form several members of the left wing, state run legacy media mob, they are in a meltdown mode. what a shock. they've only been doing this for nine straight years. take a look. >> when you start having gestapo raids in america and we start becoming a country where, as in east germany, a knock on the door is the thing people are thinking about instead of the brilliant idea they want to go create. and then we are moving very, very far from his. the president worrying about what regular people need, right? he is distracting people with this flurry of activity. but none of this, none of these images you're seeing are going to make your life better. >> similarities to what happened in germany and what is happening now in america are just undeniable. history may not repeat verbatim, but it
11:09 pm
sure does rhyme. >> an undocumented immigrant is not a criminal because he or she is undocumented. that is a civil offense. so to call people illegals is in and of itself, i think, xenophobic and racist. >> now that would be a criminal offense. here we are. we're back to the gestapo and hitler and nazis and stalin and mussolini. the hysteria. it never stops. no wonder why the state run media mob is losing audience day by day. they don't tell people the truth, and the predictable comparisons to hitler and stalin. it's on again and again and again. this is all they know. they don't know about truth. they don't. they actually call themselves journalists. they're not the media mob. clearly, they learned nothing from november. they're not listening to the american people. they are doubling down on dumb, dumber and stupid. but it's not just the media. you have uninformed
11:10 pm
hollywood celebrities also weighing in. we saw yesterday selena gomez posting a video just sobbing uncontrollably about donald trump rounding up violent criminal illegal aliens. let me ask, where were those tears for rachel moran, mother of five jocelyn nungaray, 13 years old. 12 years old. laken riley. you know, what about the hundreds of thousands of missing children? over 350,000. what about the hundreds of thousands of dead americans? young people from fentanyl, fentanyl and opioids being trafficked over our southern border? what about the thousands of americans murdered and raped and victims of other violent crimes by harris, biden, mayorkas, unvetted illegals? where are those tears? i didn't see those tears from selena or anyone in the state run media mob that now is saying this is expensive to get rid of it. what about the cost of feeding and housing
11:11 pm
and health care and education and free sex change operations funded by taxpayers that kamala wanted? you know, where were the tears? you know, for the victims of crimes by these unvetted illegals. instead, they're saving all of their tears for criminal illegal immigrants that didn't respect our laws, our borders, our sovereignty, that are rightly being deported. they love to enforce the law when it comes to donald trump, even if it meant we're going to lie about the value of mar-a-lago will make up a story about russia with hillary's bought and paid for russian dossier, will will light a fisa courts will spy on a president. we'll have a double standard when it comes to top secret classified information. where is their compassion for american victims? and while the left is engaging in their theatrics, the trump administration is on the ground, some being shot at, making good on their promises to make this country safe again in small towns and big cities.
11:12 pm
and that includes dhs secretary kristi noem. take a look. >> we do have some challenges, and the world is a dangerous place. and we've got dangerous, evil foreign governments that want to take us down. we will be the first line of defense for anybody that's in the american homeland. we will do everything that we can to protect the american people. >> all right. joining us now, dhs secretary kristi noem is with us. madam secretary, great to have you. boy, that didn't take long. you got to work really, really quick. you were out with in protective vests. you were embedded with ice last night. you got these dirt bags, as you called them, including the tren de aragua ringleader, which is a huge get, i think, for your department and for tom homan and for all these agents. congratulations on on a successful raid last night in new york. >> well, sean, we've just
11:13 pm
gotten started. we are picking up the worst of the worst in this country that are making our streets so dangerous. and so, yes, we did encounter and incarcerate a trend member that one of the ringleaders, he had warrants out for his arrest in colorado. in fact, he was one of those that we saw on some of the video from that apartment building that they had taken over and had perpetuated so much violence there. so this was a good morning for our agents and the cooperation with the nypd and atf and dea. we had a great partnership going and did several of these arrests, and the community is safer now. that's the reality of it. everybody who has been concerned about walking their children to school or spending and doing business in these communities now know that new york city is safer because these dangerous criminals are gone and they're no longer living in their community. >> what what a difference a couple of days can make. i mean, i saw when you were sworn in by clarence thomas, i was very happy for you. we've known each other a long time. you did
11:14 pm
a great job as governor. seeing you though out with agents in that protective ice vest embedded with these federal agents and going after target after target in new york. you i also understand that you got a number of criminal illegal aliens, those with kidnaping, assault charges, burglary charges. this was a very successful raid. >> it was. and i appreciate the president following through on what he promised the american people. he promised them he would make america safe. and that's exactly what we're doing. so going in all night long and doing these targeted raids against these criminal aliens was very specific. and we're pulling them out. obviously, we're going to gather more information about some more of the criminals that are out there doing these activities. so this this ringleader had just tried to buy some grenades. he had been a part of a gun buy before. we talk about families that are losing their kids to violence.
11:15 pm
they're losing our next generation of americans to drugs. these folks are perpetuating that. and we're going to get them out of here and make sure that we're continuing to build on that and know that the american people are truly being heard, that they're being listened to, and that these agents are going out with the support that they need and the cooperation of local governments to do what they need to do. >> we estimate that anywhere between 12 to 15 million unvetted harris, biden illegals came into the country. we know that among that group are known terrorists, but we don't know where they are. we know among that group are cartel members, but we don't know where all of them are. and gang members. we know we have tens of thousands of murderers, rapists and other violent criminals. we we've seen americans murdered, raped, including young children. we have a fentanyl problem. other violent crime. how? it seems like the enormity of this task of finding these people seems
11:16 pm
incalculable to me. how do we find them all? >> well, sean, we have some of these folks on our radar. when they commit crimes in this country, we need to not release them again. and working with the mayor of new york city was fantastic. i talked to him 4 or 5 times last night about what we were doing, our operations, how they could support us. we also need these sanctuary city laws to be lifted so that we can use the full authorities, that when we bring up these people and when we capture them, that we can prosecute them and that we can truly get them out of this country so that they can't continue their ring of violence. so these are the worst of the worst. and we need mayors and governors partnering with us. but we will do our job. we will do our job regardless of that. and we will continue to go forward and identify these folks and get them out. and these agents did good work and fantastic work. they're very dedicated. they're so happy, sean. they finally get to do their job. they're so happy they finally get to get these dirtbags out of our country and to and to actually
11:17 pm
fulfill the mission to which they took their oath of their office to be to be protecting their communities. so the community, while i was spending time there, were grateful when they would walk by us. they would say thank you several times and saw us pulling people out of these apartment buildings where they knew there was dangerous individuals. we saw kids coming out of these apartment buildings that had to live in these situations, and it's going to be a much better situation. the more that we can target this, and we'll gather more and more information and continue to remove dangerous criminals out of this country. remember, that's what president trump said. we're going to start with the worst, and we're going to continue to go after them and remove them. the cartels and the people that are on the terrorist watch list. when we find you, there will be consequences and we will remove you. we are saving people's lives because of the actions that we're taking. >> you know, it's amazing the left in this country, and i call them the state run legacy media mob. they've been so, oh, this is very expensive, deporting people as if it's not expensive to offer them free
11:18 pm
food and housing and health care and education. and kamala wanted, you know, taxpayer funded sex change operations. that's more expensive. my next question, do you plan on going on a lot more of these raids? is this something you will do on a regular basis? >> yeah, absolutely. i will be out there with our agents and with our law enforcement officers, our border patrol, i.c.e. i'll be with all of them, because i think that when i'm there, they know they have a leader that supports them, but also i'm learning from them. i'm learning what tools they need, what authorities they need to truly that when they arrest someone and turn them over to the process that's in front of them, that there actually can be consequences and we can prosecute them. talking about the difference in some of these sanctuary cities, how they're just released as soon as they come into our custody and, and not necessarily our custody, but the local governments. i need to tell that story and then be the liaison to help get those local leaders on board and talk to the community so they see the good work that we're doing as well and remind them, you
11:19 pm
know, president trump said that he would take action. he's we're we're encountering and arresting three times the amount of criminal aliens that the biden administration did by average. and we're having less than 10% the amount of encounters at the at the southern border, because we've sent the message clearly to the world, don't come here if you're an illegal and if you're dangerous, we have a target on you, and you will not be welcome, and we will remove you and have consequences. >> i was glad to see that you addressed that. our government has not been honest about talking about the mysterious drones that have been flying over new jersey and elsewhere, and you will get to the bottom of that. and you also have addressed the issue of security at our super bowl, which i'm sure is a monumental task. can you give us any updates on both of those issues? >> it is. well, we've been working on those since i've been in this job, but even before that, the team here was preparing to get ready for the super bowl. make sure that it's
11:20 pm
a safe, fun and exciting event and that we also are out there, you know, doing due diligence in many of these other areas of the country. we're not just stopping with new york city. you'll see me many other areas. many times we won't be telegraphing where we are in the country for safety reasons. and law enforcement always comes first as far as having the backup that they need and having the processes in place to keep them safe. they have families too, and we want to make sure that they're able to do their job, but to do it safely. but yes, governor landry in louisiana, and i've been talking almost on a daily basis ever since i was nominated for this position. and i'll be down there here in a few days to do a preliminary briefing, and we'll continue to work with them and make sure that it is a safe event and exciting for everybody. >> what a difference between you and alejandro mayorkas. it's unbelievable. thank you. we appreciate your time. we appreciate your hard work. we thank all the people of ice, and we thank the president for his leadership. we've got to protect our homeland. we've got to get rid of these people that are known terrorists, rapists,
11:21 pm
murderers, cartel members, gang members. we have to get rid of them anyway. secretary noem, thank you. we appreciate your time. >> thank you. sean. >> and what a difference a week makes. caroline leavitt, secretary noem, tom homan wow. now straight ahead, meghan mccain will join us to discuss her support for her friend tulsi gabbard and her positive words about donald trump, why she also believes tulsi will be a shining light on a broken system. stay with us and a special announcement i'm back in the swamp tomorrow. why? we'll tell you straight ahead. >> g. ivanova. powers. america every day. as the leading american energy manufacturer, we've never stopped building the technologies that drive today's economy and define the future of energy. we know an abundant, independent and secure energy system starts here at home. it's why we're investing millions in american manufacturing and creating

11:26 pm
supports the president and a lot of his policies and many of his cabinet nominees. now, that includes her longtime friend tulsi gabbard, who is donald trump's pick for director of national intelligence. mccain wrote an op ed in the spectator magazine today, calling gabbard a patriot who will bring, quote, sunlight to a rotten system. and meghan mccain, host of the citizen mccain podcast, joins us right now. i like you. you said something about tulsi. she's a patriot. she's a woman of faith. she's strong, she's courageous, deeply patriotic, a passionate love for the country. and unlike many of her critics, she put her life on the line for our country for more than two decades. and some of the criticism i heard really makes my blood boil. and i was really glad you put that up there. and i think for the next two days, three days, whatever it's going to be, it's going to be brutal. they're going to bork, clarence thomas and justice kavanaugh, kash patel, tulsi and robert f kennedy jr.
11:27 pm
>> yeah, i agree. and sean, thank you so much for giving me this time to come on your show. i'm really grateful. look, i am very close friends with tulsi gabbard, which i think sometimes surprises people. we met years ago and really bonded over being just, you know, women in the media and in the public eye that sometimes are misunderstood. she's the godmother to my oldest daughter, liberty. i know her incredibly well. we talk almost every day, and to see some of the attacks that are being put at her, by the way, by republicans and conservatives as well, which has shocked me. like places like the national review calling into question the service of a lieutenant colonel, active duty military woman in the army is just i mean, i have just found it absolutely abhorrent and disgusting. and when people want to know about how patriotic tulsi is, you know how she has that white streak in the front of her hair? that is from her experience in iraq. it's from trauma. it came from that. and i'm sorry, but i have not served overseas in a war
11:28 pm
zone. and the people who are criticizing her, 99% of them have not. and i really think this is a moment for people to come and support tulsi gabbard. president trump won handily the popular vote and the electoral vote, and a lot of those voters on the independent center right, center left were brought over because of the squad of rfk and tulsi gabbard. and i don't think people understand that there is going to be a huge wrath of anger if for some reason she doesn't end up passing her confirmation. >> you know what it is, megan. they want a scalp. they want they want a win. they want to tear somebody down. and what they don't realize, i don't care if it's about tulsi or rfk jr that they were not elected president, and their job is to implement the president's policies. so if they have an issue here or there with tulsi, it's not going to be tulsi policies that she's going to implement. the same with rfk jr. have you talked to her about that?
11:29 pm
>> yes. and i think, you know, my frustration right now is president trump was handily elected with a mandate from the american public. and that mandate is loud and clear about change and extreme change. they did not elect mitch mcconnell. they did not elect lisa murkowski. and i don't understand how his mandate could possibly stop by a few people that have very different ideas than the american public. as you talked about earlier, i weirdly went viral for saying i support so many of trump's policies. a lot of this is not about personal issues with trump. it's about what's good for the american public and the american people. and there is no one that is better suited for this moment in time than tulsi in the dni position. and i've just been like i said, i've been really, really upset at just the dastardly commentary coming from a lot of people, but republicans in general. shame on you for saying those type of things about an active duty woman in the military. >> yeah, and they are. what is the worst thing you heard? >> i think, calling into question her patriotism. i know for a fact that that hits her
11:30 pm
to her core. she enlisted in the military after nine over 11 because she was so, you know, emotionally changed by nine over 11. she served so many tours. half the time when i want to meet up with her and i want to do something with her or hang out, she can't because she's in service in her training. so i just like i said, that has been very hard, but she's very strong. i know that she's going to be great in her hearings, and i'll be there physically to support her in person. and i just think we all need to come together and call out this garbage for what it is. >> i hope i'm wrong. i don't think i will be democrats. media mob will revert to form and they will. they will be vicious in their attacks. i hope i'm wrong. i hope republicans hold the line though. megan, great op ed. we appreciate you being with us. thank you. when we come back, the trump administration moving at a rapid pace, enacting the agenda. we'll tell you what he did today. we'll check in with alina habba later. we preview. i'm going back to the swamp tomorrow. i'll tell you why. straight ahead.

going in. and there you are. you're in the white house, and we're glad you went. >> well. >> why would it be that deep state institutionalists people that work for jack smith, that worked overtime night and day to put donald trump in jail? why wouldn't donald trump get to pick his own people? why would he be stuck with that group of people? >> i love. >> that you asked me this question, sean. you know what i would say. >> to all the ask. >> it liberals. >> freaking out? yeah. no. here we go. ready? if you're biden and i'm in the doj. are you leaving me there, biden i don't think so. look, the truth of the matter is this you're not america. first. they were divisiveness. they were the party of attack. they were the party of politicization of the law. fair justice, injustice. they made americans scared of the fbi, scared of the doj, feel like they were being attacked for being a republican or a democrat. and that's for both sides of the coin. that's not america, that's not
11:37 pm
america, that's third world stuff. so it's the same thing, right? we don't want people that are political like they were that volunteered, by the way. they were not appointed to those roles. they volunteered to help jack smith. yes. they were in the prosecutor's office. yes, they were in the doj, but they volunteered to attack trump. are these people going to be able to say, i am not a political person, i'm not going to attack somebody and raid a child's bedroom and a wife's bedroom. that did nothing wrong, because this is an election season and we need to get trump out. no, they couldn't do i assure you they could not do it. now, i'm welcome to listening to if they believe they could, but i assure you they could not. if you're not america first, you're out. and not only that, we're replacing a lot of people with good people. people that care about america, the constitution and the things that president trump cares about. >> well, the american people elected him. he's a duly elected president. and we can't have the weaponization of our doj or politicizing the fbi or the intelligence community. if people were wondering, you
11:38 pm
know, what what the democrats would do and what the legacy media would do, they're back to where they've been the last nine years nazi, racist, stalin, hitler, mussolini and attack, attack, attack every trump nominee and try and stop him every step of the way. is it going to work? >> no, it's not going to work. look at what they're doing with tulsi. we just heard what miss mccain said about that. look, tulsi is a good person. she. she served our nation and things that she did where she asked for ethics, ethics, guidance on it, then met with nancy pelosi after meeting leaders. that was her job there, spinning it and twisting it because they want you to be afraid. this is not that. this is not what we're doing. what we're doing is putting america first. that's what the trump agenda is. these people are going to get us back to where we used to be, frankly, before we had politicians who put their politics and getting elected before representing constituents. that's tulsi, that's rfk, that's kash patel, that's the people that are
11:39 pm
going to go up this week. and i'm so proud of them and i support them fully. i know these people personally. the truth is they're afraid, sean. they're afraid of change because change means that they're probably going to be out of a job. and we are not afraid to do that because, as president trump famously said, you're fired. if you're not going to serve the american people, you're fired. if you're not going to be here for us, you're fired. we want these people in and they got to push them in. they're great people. >> i think that's a great way. very well. and the president does deserve the cabinet that he wants. he was duly elected by the american people. as we discussed. america wants. exactly. that's what they voted for. alina. thank you. we appreciate it when we come back. i spoke with the ukrainian president zelensky about donald trump's desire to end the war with russia. is ukraine willing to give up territory and their desire to be in nato? i asked zelensky that, and a program announcement about me being in dc tomorrow. straight ahead. >> i have. >> never seen a movement around

11:45 pm
ukraine's ability to join nato. are you is everything on the table for negotiations with you? once donald trump, we saw donald trump's post to vladimir putin, and i'll get to that in a minute. it was very harsh. but on your end is everything on the table? >> it's rhetorical. president trump vernacular. >> the rhetoric of president trump. it wasn't simply severe, it was just and fair. and this is exactly what putin is afraid of. he doesn't want a strong trump supporting ukraine because it would be strong. ukraine and the territory. territorial integrity is what every country must respect. even such country as china understands that you cannot interfere with territorial
11:46 pm
integrity. but he did it and he wasn't stopped by the previous agreements like minsk agreements. he he was saying that those were separatists, but they in fact were his men. those agreements were were instigated by him. and then he started the big invasion. and those agreements in envisaged exchange of prisoners. but he didn't do it. and some of our men are in his captivity for ten years now, more than ten years. and that's it. so speaking of a cease fire at that time, cease fire did not work. and he understands, by the way, in those agreements, america was not involved in the normandy agreements. it it was
11:47 pm
a mistake. at the time of the us administration at the time to if america took part in those talks, america would have forced putin to achieve a just peace. but america wasn't involved there. and i'm very hopeful that president trump will not allow for such an agreement to just be a piece of paper. we want him to be on the side of justice on the side of ukraine. so today, i'll tell you. if we look at what happened after the beginning of the full scale invasion of russia, we have regained over 50% of the territory. he initially took. and we would like to achieve a fair end to
11:48 pm
this war. we are not afraid. russia is not that strong. but we don't want to lose more of our lives. men and women, we. would. but but we cannot recognize the occupation that is our people, and that is our land and our right. the right of the of our people is for those territories. we cannot legally recognize, recognize that occupation, but we prefer to resolve that diplomatically, not through a military fight. that's what we want. but putin doesn't want to put an end to this war. speaking of us what we want. we talked with president trump about it. >> i do i do believe that if president trump were in office, as putin was amassing troops on your border, there was a window of opportunity for this to be stopped and to have a negotiated settlement. and i
11:49 pm
believe that likely would have happened. my fear for ukraine, for your country and you have fought valiantly. and i'm no fan of vladimir putin. i think he's evil, a murderer. i think all of this was unnecessary. all of it could have been negotiated from the beginning. but we are where we are. and i would like ukraine to remain a country and not have all of its infrastructure destroyed in all of this. the president did say about vladimir putin. he said the following that their economy is failing. he said, settle this, stop this ridiculous war. it's only going to get worse if we don't make a deal. and soon i'll have no other choice but to put high levels of tariffs, taxes and sanctions on anything being sold by russia to the u.s. and other participating countries. let's get this war, which never should have started. if i were president over with. make a deal. no more lives should be
11:50 pm
lost. i agree with president trump. i don't want any more people to die in this war. that's why i'm asking if the president can put enough pressure on vladimir putin. and is there a negotiated deal on the table that is going to take some give and take? i would assume it will involve nato. it will involve your future defenses. it will involve territorial claims that they have. do you think that deal is achievable? >> yeah. >> felony. you're sure president. >> trump. >> if a president trump who has the will to force putin to come to peace, he can do it. and if the us considers pressure on putin involving other countries, global south and china, i am sure that an agreement can be made. so they make that pressure as well.
11:51 pm
pressure on putin, i am sure, and i know that president trump is not very happy about nato. we talked with him about, but we need broader guarantees of security. if there are no joint guarantees. i believe that guarantees from europe alone will never be enough. we talked about this before. the europeans understand that without guarantees of security from the united states, from president trump, it will not be enough. putin is not afraid of europe. unfortunately, that is so and so. we need such guarantees of security. and we talked about the mistake that ukraine made at the time back because of that pressure from the united states and the russian federation, when we gave away the nuclear weapons we had in exchange for that budapest memorandum, which gave
11:52 pm
us nothing, that budapest memorandum was just a piece of paper, same as the minsk agreements. that memorandum, nobody really gave us support. such agreements may may have not enough value. >> you're probably not as willing as i am to criticize president biden over his handling of all of this. but when we go back to the beginning of this conflict and russia was amassing troops along your border, he was asked the question, what will your response be? and he said, well, it depends if it's a minor incursion or not, a minor incursion. the next thing he i felt that president biden was trying to control how you were fighting the war. i remember poland offered you 28 migs and he vetoed that. and then by the end of the war, he's providing the weaponry and hundreds of
11:53 pm
billions of u.s. tax dollars and allowing you to fire ballistic missiles into russia, which resulted in vladimir putin saying any country that fires a ballistic missile into russia, now we have the ability to fire a nuclear weapon back at them. i don't think that was helpful. am i wrong? >> i'm not quite sure what you were saying did not really help. >> well, what i'm saying is, in the beginning, he. the negotiations should have started when putin was building up troops along your border. and he was asked about it and he said, well, it depends if it's a big incursion or a minor incursion. i think that was a window to get ahead of it. he missed it. then poland offered you migs so that you could fight an air war against russia after the conflict started. and then by the end of this conflict, he's allowing you to
11:54 pm
fire ballistic missiles into russia, which then altered their nuclear policy, which said, if you do well, we have the right to nuke you. and that then puts, as far as i'm concerned, the entire continent of europe at risk. that is that is very dangerous. that's why i think, you know, i think enough people have died. enough money has been spent. and i would like to see i don't want to see any lives lost. and i hope president trump can assist with president with vladimir putin. not a fan of him, i think. i think he never should have invaded ukraine to begin with. i think your people have fought valiantly, but i am. but how many more people are going to die and how much more damage, infrastructure damage is going to occur? >> i didn't hear everything, but i will try to answer. before the big scale invasion, i was personally asking president biden and his team,
11:55 pm
the state department. we were contacting everyone in the white house. we were saying the most effective sanctions will be preventive. most important response is preventive action. so give us weapons now. and they were saying, we will give you weapons if they invade. and i was saying do everything you can now and that may prevent that may stop his coming invasion. parallel with that, i was asking the european union countries and they could not do it without approval of the united states. so they always look at the leader, the united states, as the leader. so during the big invasion, ukrainians were left on their own and we were fighting on our own. >> we're going to have part two of my interview with president zelenskyy coming up this week, where i ask him, is he in
