rather than sweeping them under the rug or self-censoring or suppressing we are all together silencing critics of the fact that the vaccine schedule now requires 72 doses for children before they turn 18. i mean, it's just crazy to me that we're not even allowed to ask these questions and we're labeled conspiracy theorists when we do. it's not a conspiracy theory to compare what we are doing here in this country with what is regularly occurring, you know, in other countries. the fact that in other countries, for example, in europe they take a more precautionary approach with the food additives and vaccine schedules and the like. r.f.k. said he is not anti-vaccine, nor nor am i, nor is anybody who is pro-science, as he is as i am. but these are precisely the questions that i think we ought to be asking. i think we have historic opportunity at this juncture to ask them. >> well, this is an exciting time and parents want answers, and our country has got to get more healthy, period. for our own survival. max, thank you so much, we you have back.

>> releasing in a been source ai model. >> it's happening very fast. i would say we have not lost our leadership here. >> laura: move over tik tok because there is now another chinese tech firm raising national security and competitiveness concerns. if you go into the app store on your iphone right now, you are going to see that the top downloaded app is from a company called deep seek. it is an ai chat box company whose founders claim is cheaper to develop, their technology is more energy efficient. that uses less data than american ai firms such as chatgpt and openai. and even the openai ceo is calling it an impressive model, especially around what they are able to deliver for the price. but of course the ccp looms all over chinese businesses which

include statist ceiling and censorship is ever present. when you ask deep seek what happened during the 1989 tenement square protest, it answers, sorry, that is beyond my current scope. let's talk about something else. that's not good. and now the meteor cries of the communist aligned ai firm has president trump's attention. >> the release of ai from a chinese company should be a wake-up call for our industries that we need to be laser focused on competing to win because we have the greatest scientists in the world. >> laura: joining me now is trumps ai and crypto czar. david, great to see you. in an email, the navy has warned some members against using deep seek given the navy's ai policy. should any government official be downloading that app tonight?

>> i think it is prudent not to. you have to remember that any data that you enter into the app will go back to chinese servers. you have to be a little bit careful if you're going to use that half. there are american versions of this. the chinese company deep seek open sourced their model. so if you want to use -- or try it, a safe way to do that would be to use an american company like rock or others and they have their own safe posted versions of it. >> laura: david, when you said in another interview that what you believe is that through a process called distillation, that the deep seek guys took the guts of what the folks at openai were doing, an american firm, and used it to develop their model in china which is not quite as advanced but it has moved pretty fast. explain why that matters so much. >> yes, distillation is a technique that has been used in

silicon valley among ai companies for a while. it is a way of training, you could call it a child model based on a more sophisticated model. so what it would do would be the child model would ask the parent model a bunch of questions just like a real child would. and in the case of ai, the child model could ask millions of questions. so the child model learns to mimic the reasoning of the parent and it could kind of suck the knowledge out of the parent model. it is one thing if a company like openai is using distillation to train its own models but it's another thing when a third-party company like deep seek is potentially doing it because that would be ip theft. and i think this is a pretty, let's call it open secret in silicon valley that distillation occurs. about a month ago there was a news cycle that didn't really get beyond silicon valley when deep seek released it's version three model. and the stories of the time were reporting that if you ask the deep seek version three model who are you, what model are you,

it would self identify as chatgpt. in other words it had been trained on so much chatgpt output that it believed it was chatgpt. so i think distillation has been going on here for a while. and i think whether it's confirmation from openai and microsoft today that there investigating the possibility. >> laura: on a scale of one to 10, 10 being the most concern, how concerned are you as the white house ai czar about china's leap into this arena? >> i would say that before, most people here in silicon valley thought that we had about a 6-12 lead and ai models over china and i think most people would now say that that margin has now shrank to, let's call a 3-6 months. the model is comparable to the old model that openai released four months ago. that kind of gives you a sense they are closing the gap and are caught on our heels and are catching up very fast.

i think that should be concerning. >> laura: and david finally, when will we hear the announcement about the bitcoin reserve from the trump administration? everyone is waiting for that, we got the study in the review but the bitcoin reserve, texas will move forward looks like with legislation, dan patrick announced today it's a big priority for them in texas but how about the trump administration? >> there is also a bill in the senate, cynthia from wyoming has introduced a bill to create a national bitcoin reserve. president trump has asked us to study the issue so we are not ready to comment on it yet, that is one of the things our group will look at. >> laura: can't wait, thank you so much for joining us, we really appreciate it. you made it all easy to understand. that's it for us tonight, make sure to follow me on social media. and thank you for watching. as always, remember it is america now and forever and better than ever, jesse watters takes it from here. >> jesse: welcome to "jesse watters primetime". tonight...
