vac jet crash that killed seven and injured 19 others, after the plane pronged to the ground shortly after takeout. >> in arlington, virginia, where investigators are uncovering just what happened in those crucial seconds before the deadliest air collision in over a decade. going for the talent promise and going for them. going to retaliate. i welcome to fox news live, i'm alicia acuna. >> and i'm jonathan hunt and we begin in arlington, virginia, where investigators are still digging into that dc crash while authorities are scrambling over a critical warning system that went down last night. grady trimble has the latest. hello, grady. hi, jonathan.

going for that and going back at this moment and they're around a thousand flight delays and going across the country. going for that system outage. going for them on an hour and going for team and going for them back up and running and looking at and looking at video of. they came back here and came here to reagan national airport. that's just past the runway from where we are along the potomac river and we're told that the families held a private memorial service this morning. they were there for about an hour. but there are still questions today about whether the helicopter in the crash was flying too high and whether staffing levels at the air traffic control tower were too low. we learned some new information

from the ntsb as it continues its investigation. it says there were five air traffic controllers working at the time of the crash, but only one of those controllers was communicating with planes and helicopters in the air. they've also gotten some of the data from the black boxes that were on the plane and that's the cockpit voice recorder and the flight data recorder. that black box is the most accurate measure of altitude and somehows arnett the moment of impact, the plane was at about 325 feet and preliminary data and indicates the control tower but saw the helicopter at the same time was at about 200 feet so the ntsb can't explain that discrepancy of about 125 feet at this moment. secretary of transportation sean duffy on fox news sunday this morning and he says these two i

said dents for the last couple of days and he says they're working to solve some of the problems and. mainly staffing shortages. going for them across the country for several years now. jonathan we go to the other deadly plane crash at least seven dead and 19 injured in philadelphia. nate foy is there with what we're learning this morning. hi, nate. reporter: hey, alisha, we're awaiting a new conference from local authorities at 11:30 if they're on time, they've been behind over the past couple of days. we did just hear back from multiple hospitals, and we can confirm that a pediatric patient who was in philadelphia has now been moved to boston, and at least 12 patients that we haven't previously reported on have been discharged from the hospital. so that's good news. of course, many still recovering today, continuing their

recoveries as federal authorities, namely the ntsb, continues its investigation. you see the crash site is blocked off still behind me right now. take a look at this new video that we shot this morning, you see burned out cars, the debris field is really quite large here, and there's also evidence outside this perimeter. so far investigators confirm they've found the planes two engined but they're missing the black box, which is actually orange, and it contains the cockpit voice recorder. >> for the cockpit voice reporter, we're looking for it. it could be in fact but likely it's very damaged and fragmented. it's critical to hear what's happening in the cockpit. reporter: that'll provide critical insight as the lear system of articulation jet

plunged into the ground a minute after taking off. here's transportation secretary sean duffy on cnn this morning. >> what happens on the ground can be catastrophic. i don't think we're going to know more information till we get the black box out of philadelphia. reporter: so the only death we know about outside of the jet happened to a person in their car. many of the 19 injured were pulled out of the impact zone by fire fighters who put out five home fires that resulted from the explosion and jet fuel. we also have just identified the two people who were passengers on that jet that went down and were killed alongside the four crew members. the mother and daughter, the daughter of course was receiving life saving care at shriner's childrens hospital. the mayor of their home city in mexico has released their names. we also found out that the hospital held a fare well party for them just hours before they

1520, 25 years ago the traffic congestion is bribe described as formal. today, the traffic congestion at dca is immense. seems to be and has as a risk and accident waiting to happen. johnathon: do you think the military flights should be scrapped in that area? >> scrapped or just rerouted. i believe they should be rerouted adding five or ten minutes to their destination flight, isn't asking too much.

willing to cast snowdin as a trouter in the hearing didn't go over -- traitor in this hearing didn't go over well with people that see him that way and no room for ambiguity on that. the two candidates for cabinet we've spoken about are absolutely the most in danger on the hill. you were right to play vice president advance's comments and under-- vice president vance's score for them and the nominees and any sort of day right there, they'd be a really big problem. even so the advice and consent aspect of the senate means they can vote somebody down and they might. alicia: we'll be watching and a loot of work to do this coming week and weeks to come. jeff mason, so good to talk to you. thank you so much. >> thank you. alicia: and that wraps it up for us this hour of fox news live.
