tv America Reports FOX News February 3, 2025 10:00am-11:00am PST
10:00 am
>> my favorite part of this is the young brian from the late 1990s. >> it is not so much seeing younger pictures, to know i have been here the whole time. it is not like your old job. this was me. i started filling in in 1996 and it has been an unbelievable run. when you have physical tapes, we used to go take the tape, here is the show, and we would file it away. it is cool. things people like to see what happens behind the scenes and i think they did a great job. >> now is a nice thing to say things about brian but we only have eight seconds. love you. don't forget to dvr. here is america reports. >> a successful conversation between trump and the president of mexico leading to a pause on
10:01 am
proposed tariffs, which were set to go into effect tonight. it is a busy one already. >> kicking off a big week here. this is america reports. tariff talks are moving quickly. trump has agreed to pause tariffs for one month after mexico's president agreed to send 10,000 soldiers to the border. the u.s. will work to prevent trafficking of high-powered weapons to mexico and they agreed to work together on security and trade. his goal is simple, stop the flow of sentinel and illegal migrants into the u.s. >> can justin trudeau's file similar deal with trump? we will talk with peter navarro in minutes. peter doocy is live. this was quite a reprieve from mexico. do we know how it is going to
10:02 am
end up a month from now? >> it was quite off the phone call with trump and the mexican president. he says that was friendly and she said that was good, but we can say the mexican side figured out how to delay the implementation of these terrorist and trump explained the deal. he said she agreed to supply 10,000 mexicans soldiers. they will be designated to stop the flow of sentinel and migrants into our country. we agree to pause the anticipated tariffs for a one-month period. just because they made a deal with trump doesn't mean the canadians are going to do the same. it's not just because trump has been taunting the outgoing prime minister about becoming the of canada. they don't think the canadians comprehend the terrorist threat.
10:03 am
>> they appear to have missed understood the plain language of the executive order and they are interpreting it as a trade war. it is about a drug war, sentinel, and more people died last year than in the vietnam war. >> the big union is very supportive of the approach to an extent. they supported it to protect american jobs as a good first step. we do not support using factory workers as ponds in a fight over immigration or drug policy. we believe trump and trudeau are going to talk around 3:00 p.m. today, roughly when the president is supposed to be at a stanley cup event honoring the florida panthers. somebody missing from all of this talk is the chinese president. we are not aware of back channel
10:04 am
talks so far for them to avoid or delay the 10% terrorist that are set to go against china tonight. >> we will keep following it. >> pete hegseth visit. molly is reporting line out of boston forest. the latest leader to push back on isis, the governor of new jersey standing his ground from his own house. >> this is interesting. as the rest of that happen, the governor of new jersey is daring that agency to come to his own house. phil murphy declared this at an event on saturday. he and the first lady are allowing someone to stay at their home. here is how he describes the
10:05 am
situation. >> we were talking about -- i don't want to get into too much detail but there is someone in our broader universe to his, immigration status is not yet at a point they are trying to get it to. and we have said, let's have her live at our house above our garage. and good luck to come in to try to get her. >> we are seeking clarity. during the first trump administration, he banned bait and local law enforcement from cooperating with light enforcement operations. there is a show of force from law enforcement partners, touting their cooperation. pictures were posted by atf boston and fbi boston. further south, isis highlighted a worksite enforcement operation at a car wash in the city of
10:06 am
philadelphia. several were arrested there, and in l.a., and anti-deportation demonstration block of the 11 freeway. that interstate is the highway patrol struggled to get a handle on those protesters >> let's bring in jonathan fa fahey. a lot to talk with you about. let's start with this operation in philadelphia. where illegal migrants were picked up at a car wash. the d.a. said this. >> any probably who thinks they can get away with anything because of this. no, you cannot. >> he was talking about i.c.e. agents coming to arrest people. what about the idea has been
10:07 am
expanded to include jobsites and should workers and companies be on notice? that if they are employed illegally they can be targets of ice? >> larry's theatrics, it is so deeply cynical what he is doing. what he is going to mischaracterize what the agents are doing and maligned them reminiscent of how kamala harris compared them to kk members -- kkk members. they are trying to arrest the most dangerous criminal and puts his own citizen at greater risk. they always put public safety behind his political agenda and he is willing to do this to increase his status at the expense of the citizens he is sworn to protect. it is a cynical move and abominable he would say something like this but on the
10:08 am
second part of this, are they going to work through this? it has always been illegal to hire illegal aliens so i don't know what the specifics are, so if businesses are going to hire illegal aliens, they should be on notice they are not allowed to and a lot of times they are somewhat exploited in terms of wages and things like that. people should be on notice. if you are here illegally, you are going to be deported. people that are law-abiding are most likely not going to be deported immediately and people who are here legally are going to be deported at all so they don't have any reason to be fearful. >> they are on notice to the point there are migrant groups porting ice and helping invade deportations. in dark suvs arrived on the
10:09 am
streets, another operation began. the community launched an urgent system of texting, social media groups and calls between local leaders. while that is happening, tom went on the sunday shows and he said this as far as the update on the deportation efforts. listen. >> we are just shy of -- i think we have 5,000 arrested in the first week and the majority being criminals. the noncriminals are arrested in sanctuary cities. and we find that criminal and he is most likely with others and they are going to go, too. >> as far as his efforts, i don't know if you can push harder. >> i expected it to be off to a great start but this is tremendous, probably the first time in at least four years we have more people being deported than coming in.
10:10 am
the numbers at the border were less than 600 per day and pretty soon we are going to be at the point where the only people getting stopped at the border are those who get lost while hiking. going back to some of these groups, they are going to put themselves in trouble. the people they are protecting might be illegal aliens with the people who are vulnerable are going to be themselves because that is harboring illegal aliens and if they are taking actions to conceal and shield people they know who are here illegally, they are in violation of federal law. this could be a massive conspiracy if i was an attorney or prosecutor looking at this, that is what i would be looking at. what they are doing to shield people from being deported, that is a federal felony and they will be in the crosshairs. they are going to which they cooperated at the beginning because there are going to be two categories.
10:11 am
those who cooperated and those who wish they did. a lot of these people don't want to fall in that second category. >> what do you make of the protest on the 101 freeway. a lot of people waving mexican flags isn't going to generate sympathy for their cause. >> you are holding flags of other countries, it is going to do more to want people to deport people and remove them from the country. if they come here illegally and they are flying the flag of the country they are from, the natural response will be why don't you go back to that country. i didn't know what other reason there could be for the protest. >> appreciate your time today. thank you for joining us. >> we have seen that before, people shutting down three ways.
10:12 am
i am not sure what signal that sends to the americans they are trying to get sympathy from, that they are willing to inconvenience people. problems a lot of people may not agree with. >> as far as the deportation protections for venezuelans amid this illegal immigration to crack down, can't too many people who are being sent back. more than 300,000 nationals protected by the temporary protected status are having their status is revoked. that is an important update to all of this. >> that follows the big meeting they had where they retrieved a number of americans held by that regime. a lot of moving parts and they are moving quickly. now this.
10:13 am
>> china is running the panama canal. it was not given to china. it was given to panama fool foolishly. >> trump issuing a stark warning to these chinese influence around the canal. >> what about our neighbors to the north? peter navarro joins us next. thanks to a unique combination of herbs, iberogast helps relieve six digestive symptoms to help you feel better. six digestive symptoms. the power of nature. iberogast.

10:17 am
10:18 am
mexico and canada and china still face hefty import tariffs. let's bring in peter navarro. glad to have you back on here. what update can you give us? seems like big news out of mexico. >> we are in a drug war. trump has been -- secretary of state, department of homeland security, and the white house, they are trying to stop the death of americans from sentine.
10:19 am
canada thinks we are in a trade war. dramatically provoking the trade war with threats of retaliation. the president will be speaking with prime minister trudeau shortly and what canada needs to understand as it plays a major role in the traffic to the u.s. that is killing americans. it is more than the people who died in the vietnam war as soldiers. what we see in canada is cartels who process the chemicals have also moved up into canada, very
10:20 am
10:21 am
after that, it led to record events, record numbers of ev events. do you have confidence shine bomb will act? >> the problem, people have to understand how the process of sentinel caring -- killing americans will work. they make the precursor chemicals. we were fighting the wars back then. it never followed through. the drug cartels make this stuff, off it goes, they are spending it up and around through canada. if mexico, china, and canada do
10:22 am
what is in their capabilities to stop that, it will stop. trump will continue the pressure to make sure americans stop dying. this is carnage. we have grown immune to the fact 200 americans die every single day. 18 to 45 age group. these are the highest numbers, the leading cause of death for that demographic. prime working class people and we are having our economy hollowed out by these deaths. the canadian prime minister has to recognize it is a drug war and not a trade war.
10:23 am
>> people want to attack this. if you pitch this as a way to do so, you can gain public support. there are republicans who are saying this is attack. rand paul tweeted out tariffs are simply taxes. taxing trade will mean less trade and higher prices. you might get more support for the war on fentanyl, there are people who are living through historically high prices. can you promise this won't lead to an economic hit in prices for regular people? >> as an economist, if you go
10:24 am
back to 2018, 2019, when trump imposed tariffs on china, solar, dishwashers, other products, whether they are on the hill or in think tank or the ivory tower or whether they are on the medium. they all said the same thing. we had neither. it is because of how countries respond to terrorists as a role. we are the biggest market in the world. they take advantage of us. we have the lowest tariffs, the lowest trade barriers of any. what is the first thing that happens when we raised tariffs? they lower their prices. we saw no inflation, no recession. we saw prosperity.
10:25 am
anybody talking about inflation now is this honoring the men and women and children who have died at the hands of chinese mexican canadian fentanyl coming across our borders. that is what this is about. >> we will see if they can. >> how many of you believe racism and misogyny played a role in vice president's harris defeat? that is good. you all past.
10:26 am
>> have democrats lost their w way? >> an update on confirmation hearings. we will take you live to capitol hill where they face tight votes in the senate. >> we want to go live to the oval office work trump signed an executive order a short time ago and talked about a number of things including his discussions with shine bomb and what might lie ahead. >> we were given a two-minute warning to that and we saw the press secretary a picture of the president there. she said moving forward. >> talking about the treasury
10:27 am
secretary gave elon musk the keys to the kingdom and let him snoop around inside the treasury does and the revelation for the past four years they have approved every payment that came across it's desk without question, people who work at the department were told to send the payment out the door. >> list goes on for about 35, 4. let's listen. >> numerous fronts are being covered. we will give certain proclamations and you will hear a little bit about them. >> we have five official designations of special envoys. the first is mr. steve wyckoff
10:28 am
to be her middle east envoy. where is steve? done a great job in the middle east. really great. we will see how it turns out. it is complex, but i think he is going to do well. >> your special envoy to latin america. we have retired general keith kellogg to be your special envoy for russian-ukraine issues. >> we have made a lot of progress on russia and ukraine. we will see what happens.
10:29 am
we have to stop that ridiculous war. >> thank you, sir. next, the designation of rick to be your envoy for special missions. >> we sent him to turn on the water and it was not easy because we had to go through a lot of environmentalists who are causing problems. should have gotten a lot of press but it did not get much. we are giving los angeles and the ends tire state of california unlimited water, which they could have done five years ago but the environmentalists stop them and we opened it and we did it regardless and now the state seems to be very happy.
10:30 am
i spoke with gavin newsom and he is very happy. i almost called him by my little nickname for him. i think they are all happy. they have a lot of water in california. too bad we didn't have that months ago. that was a big move. i don't know if you saw the pictures release of the water pouring down from the pacific northwest and canada and lots of other places. it is a pretty amazing site. >> he had a big friday trip. we will talk about that. he is a good man. >> the designation of mark burnett as your special envoy to the united kingdom. >> he should be good. he has done a great job, a friend of mine, very talented guy.
10:31 am
we have very talented people working for us. i will hold that up. he gets so much television. he will be thrilled to see it. he is going to do a good job. >> your administration has smashed records for appointing large numbers of qualified and capable people. these are 28 sub cabinet level officials being appointed to different departments and agencies. some are important positions but these are people who have been vetted and received your approval. thank you, sir. next, this is an executive order and charges your secretary of the treasury to begin a process that will hopefully result in
10:32 am
the creation of an american sovereign wealth funds. >> it is an exciting event. we will have a sovereign wealth fund, which we have never had. we have a lot of things that have created wealth and other people have created the wealth. maybe you would like to see dominic say something about it. >> we are going to stand the thing up within the next 12 months. we are going to monetize the asset side of the u.s. balance sheet it is going to be very exciting. it will be a combination of
10:33 am
liquid assets as we work to bring them out for the american people. >> the size and scale of the government and the business it does what companies should create value for american citizens. if we are going to buy 2 million covid vaccines, we will create an amazing fund. >> other countries have sovereign wealth funds. we have tremendous potential. you are seeing what has happened in a short period of time. tiktok, we are going to do something perhaps, and perhaps not.
10:34 am
i have the right to do that and we might put that in the sovereign wealth fund or we do a partnership with very wealthy people. a lot of options. we have a lot of other things we can put in the fund and we would have one of the biggest funds and some of them are pretty large. like the saudi arabia fund. eventually we will catch it. we will create a lot of wealth for the funds. it is about time this country had a sovereign wealth fund. they will be heading it up and they are going to do a great job. highly respectable people who have done really well in the real world. that is a big deal. >> it will create value.
10:35 am
>> why is it important for mosques to have access to the payment system of the treasury? >> he has access only to letting people go that he thinks are no good if we agree with him. he is talented from the standpoint of management and cost and we put him in charge of seeing what he could do with certain groups and certain numbers. some of the numbers are up. think of it, $100 million on condoms to hamas. many other things that are ridiculous. waste, more than anything else. probably fraud and abuse could be added to it. they are finding tremendous amounts of really bad things,
10:36 am
bad spending. you have been writing about some of it and some of the things they have been doing is terrible. elon came to and will not do anything without our approval and we will give him the approval where appropriate. he reports then he -- it is something he feels strongly about and i am impressed. if there is a conflict, we won't let him get near it. he has a team of talented people. we are trying to shrink government. where we think there is a conflict or a problem, we won't let him go near it. he has some good ideas that we have other talented people. we are bringing in the most talented people in the world. we have two of the most talented
10:37 am
people in the world, rupert murdoch and larry ell ellison. they are two legends in business and publishing. he is pretty much in a class by himself. he is an amazing guy. larry is one of the most serious players in the world. this has nothing to do with you but they are here and i thought it would be appropriate. they are all going crazy, saying what are they doing here. >> is there any chance canada or china? -- >> we had a great talk with mexico. president sheinbaum is a woman
10:38 am
and i like her much. we have to stop fentanyl from coming in. we have to stop the illegal aliens from coming in. i think we have lost 200,000 people a year per year for many years. we could be closer to 300,000. they have agreed to put in 10,000. just their side of the border, stopped fentanyl and illegal aliens from coming in. we can consider various other things. we haven't agreed on terrace yet. maybe we will and maybe we won't. i also spoke with prime minister trudeau. bank aren't allowed to do business, we aren't treated well
10:39 am
by canada and we have to be treated well. american banks are not allowed to do business in canada. can you believe that? that is one of many things we talked about. i think we will win. for some reason, a lot of things have been very unfair were canada. you deal with people and after a while you realize. larry ellis is tough to do business with. they are very tough to do business with and what they cannot take advantage of the u.s. they don't take our cars. they make cars but they basically don't take our car. we are going to have another good conversation, we are speaking at 3:00.
10:40 am
we don't need them to make our cars, to give us lumber, to give us agricultural products. they don't take hours for the most part. a little bit they do, but not much. as far as cars are concerned, they took in almost 19% of the market and i would not mind making our cars in the united states. i would like to make our cars in the u.s. we don't need canada to make our cars. the call with mexico went well. they are going to put soldiers at the border. their best military soldiers, they will be at the border, 10,000. they want to protect it also.
10:41 am
they don't want people coming through mexico to come into our country, though they are going to do that and we will talk about other things. >> they leave the delegation and we will have a big negotiation with mexico. >> china will be speaking to china over the next 24 hours. >> we don't want fentanyl coming into our country. he is in the process of coming back. he is almost back by now. we had a very long conversation
10:42 am
with the leader of panama. the entire leadership group, and where we are trying to work a deal in the panama law canal. it was given foolishly years ago. it shouldn't have happened, to panama by jimmy carter and the group. we lost 38,000 people building the canal. one of the great wonders of the world. the biggest project we ever built. 38,000 people died, americans, all men just about, laborers and construction people that went to panama. the mosquito got them. between mosquito and snakes, we lost 38,000 people.
10:43 am
it was the most expensive project ever built by the united states. 110 years ago, it would have been the equivalent of $2 trillion. we gave it away for $1. essentially nothing. we want it back or we are going to get something very strong or we are going to take it back and china will be dealt with and we did not give that to china. we gave it to panama. they have totally violated the agreement. that is in the process now but they had a good meeting with the head of panama.
10:44 am
>> the amount of money that was lost and the lives lost because of covid is not something anybody could have ever even imagined. it is probably $60 trillion. the amount of death and destruction and money lost is probably $60 trillion. i had it figured by people. nobody knows what the real number is but it is almost an infinite number, the damage done now. i have not discussed that. what i have discussed is we will have good meetings with china, we will have good meetings planned and we will see what happens. that is just an opening salvo. if we can't make a deal, the
10:45 am
tariffs will be substantial. >> you have made making america healthy again a priority. declaring february to be national heart month. >> it looks like we are doing very well with nominations. >> you had concerns about kelsey gabbard. >> i have gotten a great response. i think we will do well. we have made people like this, we have great people coming in. i would like to say the best ever recruited for government. we have the finest people ever recruited for government. you are starting to see that. we have done more in two weeks than biden has done in five or
10:46 am
six years. you add it up, we have done more in two or three weeks than they have done in 12 years. i don't know, not when it comes to fraud. these people are lunatics and if it comes to fraud, you wouldn't have an act of congress. we just want to do the right thing. it is something that should have been done a long time ago. they went totally crazy, what they were doing and the money they were giving to people who shouldn't be getting it, it was a shame. it was a tremendous fraud. we will be doing a report and giving you that report at an appropriate time. >> i love the concept of it.
10:47 am
they turn to be radical left lunatics. the concept of it is good. it is all about the people. >> what kind of terrorist are you talking about? >> we have massive deficits with the european union. they don't take our farm products, our cars. they have mercedes-benz and volkswagen, so many different cars and we don't do anything about that. we don't charge them tariffs. they make it impossible to sell cars in the european union, difficult agricultural product. they have a lot of excuses. they know the pesticides and the chemicals used. bobby kennedy is looking at that seriously.
10:48 am
maybe it is not necessary to use all that. we spend more money on food than anybody else in terms of creation but we are not the healthiest country. maybe there is something to the fact we shouldn't be using so much chemical and maybe that will stop and bobby kennedy is the one. he is not a believer in the things we have done and neither are the europeans. any chevrolets or fours to use the and the answer is none. they don't take anything. the european union has abuse the united states for years. in all cases they want to make deals. they have been abusers and they want to make deals.
10:49 am
we will see about that. we will have very fair -- reciprocal tariffs on everybody. many of the countries you feel horrible about, the way they have been treated by trunk, they charge us tariffs. it is a similar thing, similar to a tariffs. it is members like you would not believe. canada, i told you about the banks. they charge us. people don't like to say it, like they don't like to say i opened up the water for california. it is too bad they didn't do it themselves. we did it in a rough way. i didn't like to do it a rough way. a lot of these countries we are talking about, they are allies,
10:50 am
but they don't treat us well. i got $420 billion and now it is over $600 billion they said it was a miracle, when trunk came into nato, he said it was $636 billion. no, you have to pay and if you don't pay, we are not going to be there and it was a large amount of money. we wanted to see equalization. we are in for 200 billion less. biden never asked them for money. he never said you have to pay. all he did is hand out money. we are talking with them now and
10:51 am
working some deals right now so we have some guarantees and some other things to keep that situation going. we are telling ukraine we want what we put up to go in terms of our guarantee. we are giving them equipment. it is more important for them than it is for us. they should be paying at least equal. they should be paying more and they are billions and billions of dollars below. we are looking to do a deal with ukraine where they are going to secure what we are giving them what they are rarer and other
10:52 am
things. >> with mexico, was that related to the market reaction. >> i will have to talk to them. i don't agree with him on something. not only is it not done, every one of those countries is dying to make a deal because they are ripping us off badly. the united states is being ripped off. that is why we have $36 trillion in debt. we make bad deals with ever everybody. very simply, every country you are writing about right now is dying to make a deal.
10:53 am
the deals they have right now are so good for them then so profitable. you didn't know canada did not allow our banks and these different things. in the end you will see very substantial terrorist are going to be paid by them or they will have to make some kind of a d deal. she did agree to the 10,000 soldiers on the border. i would say that is a lot and 10,000 soldiers will keep illegal aliens out and they will keep them out, seriously out, otherwise they are going to have a big penalty. mexico is going to be penalized. they are not going to come in for mexico and they won't let the fentanyl come in through china and they will stop and if they don't, the terrorist are
10:54 am
going to go higher. >> of the rarer acts, is that something you want, then to give the rare earth to the united states? >> i want security of rare earth's. they have great rarer than i want security of the rare earth. and they are willing to do it. >> when you talked to justin trudeau, is there anything he can give you? >> we have big deficits with canada, like we do with all countries. i look at some of the deals made and say who made these deals, but with canada, i had a talk with him and you may be no end maybe don't. we are going to meet again or talk again at 3:00 but after my next meeting, we will see what happens. i cannot tell you what is going to happen. what i would like to see, canada
10:55 am
become our 51st state. we give them protection, military protection. we don't need them to build our cars. i would rather see detroit or south carolina or tennessee, any one of our state. we don't need them for the cars or for lumber. we don't need them for anything, we don't need them for energy. we have more than they do. why are we doing this? why are we willing to lose between $100,000,000,000.200 billion a year? we don't need them. as a state it is different and there are no tariffs. i would love to see that. some people say that would be a long shot. it would be 100% certain they become a state. but a lot of people don't like to play the game because they don't have a threshold of pain.
10:56 am
and there would be some pain. we are going to meet by 3:00 and we will let you know. >> would you support annexation? >> i am not going to talk about that. it is a small country in terms of land. see this pen, my desk is the middle east and this pen, the top of the pen is israel. that is not good. it is a pretty big difference. it is a pretty small piece of land and it is amazing they have been able to do what they have been able to do. it is a very small piece of land, no question about it.
10:57 am
>> is anything he has done thus far, you are all okay with all of that? >> for the most part. if there was something that did not have my okay, i would let you know about it really fast. i haven't seen that. and he would know not to do it so we haven't had that yet. if there was a conflict. >> how long do they have to make that sort of deal? >> we are going to meet with panama on friday at about three: 30 in the afternoon by phone but it there will be some representatives here or there, but we are going to talk to panama on friday, essentially and they have agreed to certain things but i am not happy with
10:58 am
it. >> you have doubts on the cease-fire in the middle east. >> i have no assurances it will hold. nobody has seen anything like it. i have no guarantees piece is going to hold. steve, you might want to say something about that. >> it is holding so far and we are hopeful. get the hostages out, save lives and come to hopefully a peaceful settlement. so far, it is holding. >> on a different topic, agents who were involved in the investigation should they be fired? >> the fbi was a corrupt
10:59 am
institution. i was able to beat it. other people have been treated horribly. i think it's reputation was damaged badly, as is doj. look at what they have done in terms of representation. probably got me elected by what they did. might have gotten me elected. we have to have perfect law enforcement and what we want to do, cash is the one to do it. he is the one guy who was going to do it. we have to bring the fact of the fbi back to what it could be. not to what it was, better than it ever was. who would have thought the fbi could have been corrupted like they were corrupted? who would have thought it would
11:00 am
have been used to go after political opponents. so many other things beyond that. they have been hurt badly and we will see what happens. he is they want to do it and he will straighten it out. we have great confidence we can make the fbi great again. one or two more and we will be done. >> told the gabbard. >> i think she is going to be a doing okay. she is liked by so many people, especially people in the military and law enforcement. fico edward snowden, you mentioned him. >> i don't talk about it right now. people feel differently. some people think you should be pardoned and some people think it would be terrible but i don't get involved with that
