tremendous from highest level of leadership, tremendous praise. if the united states can help bring stability and peace in middle east, we'll do that. >> carley: congressman von orden joins me. ownership of the gaza strap, how would this work? >> ownership can mean a lot of stuff. what president trump is clearly articulated there has to be change in the middle east. does this mean a u.s. base, developing gaza strip? i'm not sure. what this has done, shockwaves across middle east telling everybody united states will be involved in making sure israel is safe and we have peace and stability in the middle east. >> carley: yesterday he said it could take u.s. troops on the ground in the region, all possibilities on the table. what do you think about that?
2:28 am
>> i think it is very important that the people that hate israel and united states understand that everything is always on the table. that is from peace negotiation to a very strong and stern military reaction to what they are doing in the region. president trump is projecting strategic strength, which is what president byted did not do for four years, that is combr we're here now. something is going to change. we'll bring peace and stability back to the middle east to make sure israel is safe and that our allies in the region start making sure they respect the united states for what we are, the most powerful nation in the world. >> carley: certainly. it is a fascinating suggestion. you see one glimmer of if everybody can get onboard, israel would be more secure, palestinian would be out of a war zone and there would be
2:29 am
regional stability, which is what donald trump wants. it would take palestinians agreeing to leave the region and for other countries in that area, saudi arabia, jordan, qatar to agree to take them in, to clear out the people so gaza strip could be rebuilt. saudi arabia is not onboard with this idea saying foreign ministry affirms saudi arabia position on establishment of palestinian state is firm and unwavering and establishing diplomatic ties with israel would depend on this. yesterday prime minister netanyahu said he does think the two countries could normalize relations. it looks like that is a big challenge. >> well, let's remember before october 7, there was de facto a palestinian state. there was. the palestinians allowed hamas to take over, hamas attacked israel in most brutal fashion
