he has talked about moving to another area, moving the palestinians to another area. he reiterated how -- look at this. it's a mess. so he is saying clean this up. let's move some of them to other areas. economic development, supply unlimited number of jobs and housing. and he did repeat his desire tore jordan and egypt to take palestinians. jordan is home to 2 million palestinians. palestinian refugees and also have citizenship in jordan. and egypt has been adamant about refusing most of the gazans. >> lawrence: go ahead. bry. >> brian: money we gave them they are using to build terror tunnels. also said we are no longer going to fund unrwa. why does that matter? they were predominantly working with the u.n. for hamas. turns out one of the hostages said i was kept in an unrwa facility. really? so the u.n. is not in bed with hamas? but they kept the hostages in unrwa senility he goes we are done with it. off the human rights council. we are not funding you guys

anymore. this is exactly what netanyahu was trying to say. the u.n. has turned against us, so when they come in to bring peace, they are actually bringing disorder same thing lebanon. they worked for the lebanese. >> lawrence: i was struck by multiple things from the president. one thing he does not want war. he kept saying it over. he wants the best for all countries. he wants them to work -- even when he signed yesterday in the oval office the maximum pressure campaign against iran i don't want to have to seen. this but this is where we are at. and agree or disagree with the idea that he presented, he was talking about a new day for the palestinian people. and that's one thing. they haven't had hope, all these kids from birth hate another country, hate another people. they need something that can uplift them. i'm not saying this is a solution. but i like the conversation being started. >> see i agree with you,
4:07 am
lawrence. i think this is just the tipping -- this is the conversation starter. because, obviously, the president knows when he says we'll take gaza. he knows the united states can't invade another country last thing he wants to do put boot on the ground in gaza. last term he was talking about he would like to get out of every war in the middle east. i think what he did yesterday by i'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. i think what he did by saying look, if we take over and reredevelop it, i think that's the first step in a negotiation united states will redevelop it and palestinian also go some place else. now people are going no you can't go doo that. okay, if we don't redevelop it. who will? suddenly it will be like the united states and france and russia or somebody like that. where will the palestinians go? go here, here, or here. i think this was his opening salvo, first idea. a lot of people saying you can't

in virginia. remember when youngkin was running and terry mcauliffe said we don't want the parents in our school and lost the election? the parents want to make the decision. if not they are going to pull kids out and move to another state. it is a little scary when liberal blue states are in charge of our schools. >> steve: listen, getting rid of the department of education goes back to ronald reagan. ronald reagan down in d.c. used to talk about that all the time. ultimately, i think once again, this is another negotiation. donald trump saying let's get rid of the department of education. we talked to somebody yesterday at the round table on friday, she told us that she would like to see essentially the federal government continue to give states block grants. it's got to come from some place. probably the department of education when you look at the department of education last year $240 billion. $108 billion went to student loans. you got to figure donald trump is going to say, you know what?
4:13 am
$180 billion for student loans, i think we can save some money right there. i think it's a negotiation. >> brian: barack obama did that he took it away from the banks. the banks were in a much lower interest rate. i got a sent to loan below the interest rate of the country prime rate. now it's above it. and the parent loans, when if your kid goes out of state to michigan. $70,000. middle class family doesn't usually have $70,000 sitting around. give the kid some money. but we are going to give them a loan and give you an opportunity to take a parent loan. so by the time the kid graduates you have the parent loan and the kid loan so it's hard for the parents even to help out the kid. so we should cut the interest rate if you want to help people and number two, give it back to the banks. get that off the books. >> lawrence: all true. >> brian: joe biden keeps forgiving these loans and that goes into the red for the country. >> lawrence: meanwhile the cost of school is going up as a result of that. >> brian: we got to figure out a way to get to that. >> lawrence: once the feds took
4:14 am
over the loan process is when the price of college started to skyrocket. >> ainsley: what's interesting about those numbers that you gave, i didn't know that we spent that much on loans. you can't get a student loan unless you are going to college, right? we need to put money in elementary schools to teach our kids first how to read and do math. did you see we're not proficient in either one of those' lost a lot of time during covid. first focus on getting to the college level which would be elementary and middle school. >> steve: last week was school choice week in washington, d.c. every parent would love to be in my state. the reason we moved to new jersey when i came up here to work from virginia. is because one of the guys who worked with me at the time said okay, you are going to look at new york state, you are going to look at connecticut. and look at new jersey. he said go to new jersey. i said why? it's new jersey? you know, i bought into those johnny carson jokes. he said because in new jersey,
4:15 am
can you send your kids to a public school. >> all of the doocy kids went to public schools and got a great education. unfortunately, here in new york and a lot of places in connecticut you got send them to a private school. ultimately, parents would love to be able to say i am going to take that private -- or that money that tax money and put it to my kid going to a place that i want it them to go. >> ainsley: a lot of these schools so big. we had 854 people in my freshman class. about 500 and some odd grad. one of my friends. >> brian: did you graduate? >> ainsley: yeah. that happened. certain states and certain areas. but, out on cold spring harbor out on long island. there were like 100 people per class. that's a public school and excellent school. so, i don't know if that needs to come into play. i will point out the elephant in the room with the educator with peter it didn't work. i mean,.
