piece together if that played a role in what happened with this plane crash landing and then rolling belly up on the runway. people described hanging like bats and then getting themselves free from their seat belts and standing on what is normally the ceiling of the plane. what we know about injuries. 80 people were on board. 18 people injured. the injuries range from minor to serious. but, none of them, most importantly, are considered life-threatening. so take more looks at this video. just remarkable, this scene. the plane took off from minneapolis, came down here in toronto. the transportation safety board of canada is leading this investigation. faa investigators are also going to the crash site. once the plane crashed, officials here say it was absolutely a textbook emergency response. firefighters put out flames on the runway.

crew evacuated passengers with the plane flipped over. we mentioned those winds. audio from the air traffic controller shows the pile lots were warned about the chief says there were no cross wind conditions. there was also snow on the ground but the chief says that the runway was dry pear is the former administration talking about the possible role the weather played last hour. >> with gusty conditions. it is possible but very rare to get a severe gust right at touchdown. that airplane with the wings in the back of the fuselage, if you overcorrect, and you are very close to the ground or in the flair it's possible to dig the wing, in if that happens, it's very easy to flip the aircraft. >> plane involved crj # hundred

canadian regional jet. same craft involved in the mid-air collision at reagan national airport. this now makes four plane crashes in north america just over the past month. this airport, toronto pearson international is operating at a reduced capacity today there are five run rays here in total. two of them will remain closed during this investigation, which continues today. we'll send it back to you. >> steve: so, nate, it looks like, and we have just seen some new video that's available and we will have it shortly here on fox. it looks like the plane comes down hard and then immediately bursts into flames on the right side of the plane i know we just had that expert say sometimes if the wing were to touch it would cost it to flip over to look out the window and the plane is on fire and not upside down yet, that's very troubling. >> when you saw the aftermath of it you weren't sure if the plane landed bell up.

the video that you are talking about that we are working to clear and then get on our air and show our viewers shows that the plane went down went down right side up and very quickly the wing was taken off fruits lodge turned counterclockwise which resulted in those passengers hanging like bats from what felt like the ceiling but was really the floor of the plane they had to get themselves free and get off the airplane as quickly as possible as you mentioned firefighters were scrambling to put out the flames. bream panicking and trying to get off the aircraft as quickly as possible. people helped those who couldn't unbuckle themselves and thank goodness. considering how dangerous of a situation that was, officials

doge from accessing agencies or laying off or firing any employees from those agencies. the steats are demanding a temporary restraining order. they're arguing imminent harm is likely department of education labor, health and human services, energy, transportation, commerce and the office of personnel management tanya chutkan is not convince q. instanced. she wrote yesterday the things i'm hearing are serious and troubling indeed. the things you are hearing not seeing it so far. awaiting a ruling on whether this request for a temporary restraining order can move forward. meantime doj lawyers are arguing that elon musk does not have federal authority to make decisions himself. chutkan disagreed issue a filing musk is not the administrator of doge nor is he an employee of the department of government efficiency, declaring him instead a special government

employee and senior adviser to president trump. they cited anita dunn as a previous holder of a role of this type under former president joe biden. the president trump has credited musk with his work on doge many times. so it's a little bit unclear what tangible effect that statement from the white house might have. meantime, anti-trump protesters took to the streets in washington on presidents' day with not my president signs also saying no one voted for elon musk. so, the pushback continues, meantime doge is still working to access irs data. we understand that access is imminent allow doge employees to comb through tightly controlled files bank records and other taxpayer information. critics are warning that anies in stakes in this data base could potentially have disruption to the tax filing system just as about 100 million americans are planning to file their taxes. a lot coming up today, guys

employees not only should they have the same access as their career official colleagues they should have nor access because they were effectively directly elected by the people via the president and the election. a lot of what we are seeing is the media and certain lawmakers being disingenuous and exploiting the american people's lack of knowledge over how this works and that political appointees are federal government employees just like everyone else and therefore should be able and permitted to do their job. if they aren't, it's essentially like a usurpation of the democratic process. >> lawrence: she covered the legal as specht of this but also overlaps with the political aspect. the democrats are talking about process right now. how they're getting the information. but they are not addressing the information and the corruption that they're finding in mismanagement of the funds. they are saying oh, they have people's private information. but they want won't address the issue at hand what they're

uncovering. whatever you talk about process from what i know about politics you are losing the argument. instead process instead of the actual issue at hand. she also told brian when he was interviewing her. contract employees have access to some of this information. so, these are people that will be vetted. they will have security clearance we will have to trust some people we trust people at the irs. elon is trying to cut costs. i feel like democrats are finding weird ways to argue what trump is doing. is he cutting costs. >> well, here's the thing. >> lawrence: so true. >> steve: federal government carved up into three big things. you have got the executive branch, judicial branch and congress. what is going on right now is all within the executive branch. the president of the united states has the, you know, he has the obligation and the responsibility and the power to take a look. >> lawrence: discretion here's the crazy thing we learned this morning apparently $4.7 trillion

worth of payments from the federal treasury sun traceable because they did not essentially put anything on the subject line about where the money was going as doge takes a look federal government they will figure out where the last administration actually spent money. remember, congress approved it. the question is once that agency got the money, they spend it the way they were supposed to? remember in the last week or so. we have been talking about hundreds of millions of dollars that was earmarked for fema, for natural disasters went to house migrants. that was not what it was for. there is homeless money for american homeless people but it wasn't for migrants. >> it's hard to track the money though because they didn't put the tracking codes on the. >> they changed it now. trump has said you have to put a tracking code so we can see what the money was used for.

>> this is important but keep in mind, social security, medicare, medicaid 2.9 trillion. that's almost half of all the money spent. put in defense and veterans affairs. that's 950 billion. that's roughly three quarters of the $6.75 trillion it takes to run our government. so we're still on this third and finding a lot. can you nag we look at the other nondiscretionary spending and what they can find. not to cut people's benefits. that's something that may never happen. the systems and the payouts and the fraud that exists there elon musk says that's going to be the gold mine medicare. >> ainsley: millions in the social security database listed between the ages of 100 and 159. >> lawrence: that's crazy. >> ainsley: people don't live to be 159. why are they in the database? >> steve: i was reading about that this morning. apparently if there is data missing from exact birth date they default it and put it as the reference point is may 20th,
