crew led the evacuation with the plane upside down. >> come on. seriously a miracle that nobody was killed. take a look at the point got like that. it comes down right-side up that you see it comes down on its side and the wink immediately detaches and slides down the runway with fire under it as fuselage rotates upside down here to there was no warning from the pilot. there was no physical warning either. i didn't feel like anything was wrong until the second the wheels touched the ground and it all went mayhem from there. >> john, you mentioned how bad winter can be here in toronto. a note about that, the official said toronto received more snowfall since last thursday than they did all of last winter. monday was to be the day they caught up on the canceled delayed flights but that did not

apparently could not arrest the descent rate and impact of the ground. you can see that gear collapse and right wing hit and sheared off and the plane rotated clockwise on its back. the amazing thing is that fuselage passenger cabin remained intact. and the feel on the wing departed so it took some of the fuel with it. the crash fire recovery was really quick to respond and suppress the flames and enabling the passengers to get out. it was a bad situation, but it turned out very well for a bad situation. they don't make everybody did what they were supposed to and got everybody out. >> john: i think the passengers were lucky the wing attached from the plane and everybody got out. they could feel the heat through the windows as the plane caught fire. what you think was responsible for the sink rate at that

right wing got sheared off and rotated upside down. >> sandra: considering the seriousness of the plane crash as we reported in the news lately, while these are rare occurrences, do you have bigger concerns about air safety? >> i do. i think this is a great example of why children need to be in child seats and have a dedicated seat for them to strap in their child seat much like we do in an automobile industry. so, if you can imagine holding a small child on your lap and having those impact forces, you will be unable to keep control of your kid. than the child becomes a projectile. the faa has always been struggling with did they make that mandatory? people won't fly because they have to buy another seat for their infant. but today is a firm example.

red flag. because what makes so much more sense is that if somebody is going to receive a grant, that they are doing work and then coming back and asking for the next tranche of money as opposed to just fronting all of it. what is crazy about the different agreements over the course of the last few days, they deliberately in riding make sure they are drastically reducing accountability and oversight by the epa, by government and i want epa to be in possession of the funding and have control and oversight of the funding. but that was relinquished. so, the whole scheme was something that was extremely irresponsible before you even get started analyzing each individual recipient. >> sandra: so these protests we were watching yesterday, and thank you for being here. good to see you. we were told on the signs, anti-doge protests happening all

over washington in the country. at this is tampa, florida, and atlanta monday. why do you fathom there is such a lack of appetite to find this waste and abuse? >> i think that there are a lot of left-wing organizations that are beneficiaries of the money. they are afraid that as we locate these different schemes that are out there of getting the money out to the left-wing activist groups, that the trump administration would have no tolerance for any waste and abuse. if that is they are fair, i guess that is well-founded to. but i think most of america wants to see the trump administration and doge in each individual agency successful in ridding out waste and abuse and ending it. i am someone zero tolerance for waste and abuse and i think $100,000 wasted or a million dollars wasted or $1 billion, it doesn't matter the american public wants us to be good

irrational. >> john: as we have seen and the program 2011, barack obama made a point to test waste and abuse and trim the size of the government in 1993. and the clinton administration looking to do the same thing first year in office. wanted to cut the federal workforce twice as much as what donald trump is looking to cut. democrats did not lose their minds over that. why are they losing their minds over that? >> they shouldn't and i think the best theory is they want the money for their own ideological pursuits. i just canceled nine grants working with doge totaling about $60 million of tax dollars being saved going towards dei and environmental justice. last week i canceled $50 million to justin justice alliance which goes through free palestine. these different groups out there

senior correspondent jonathan serrie is live at the fire station in reeve, tennessee, in the coven arrived and getting a briefing on the ground. what are you seeing and hearing? >> he did indeed meeting with local officials and the mayor, the fire chief and also the residents who had to evacuate their homes because of the flooding. the water level has been going down significantly, but still surrounds many of these homes and businesses in the town of reeves, tennessee. the governor toured the central part of the state and we have live images, aerial images blocks flight team from the drone from the town of clarksville. it is located outside of nashville and looking at residential area that has suffered extensive flooding during the weekend storm. in neighboring kentucky, governor andy beshear of the number of people who died in the

weather events in that state has now increased to 14 paired to the two most recent deaths appeared to be a homeless man and woman who died from exposure cold temperatures because many flood survivors still don't have electricity in their homes. the governor issued this morning. >> if you can't safely heat your home by this afternoon, either call or go stay with friends. look at one at the shelters and go stay with family. let's just make sure we don't lose anybody else to these cold temperatures. >> obviously, flood people had to leave the homes because the floods are eager to get back. some residents urged utility crews to hook back up their power and once electricity is restored to coach a return to their homes. for those cleaning up, emergency officials are advising them to first document the damage and

kentucky, the northern part of the state closer to ohio river. this is closer to the mississippi river. in reeves, tennessee, at least. in the little town kind of the apex of the two works of the river and tremendous amount of water crashed down through the entire town and it was underwater. and i jumped on a national guard boat going up and down the streets and it was just surreal experience to see nothing but rooftops. and the boat lifted up a little bit and he turned to me and said, car, we just went over a car appeared to the average car is born a half or 5 feet tall. and we probably had 3 feet of draft. you are talking 8-9 feet of water. >> sandra: you are looking at clarksville as you pointed out northwest of nashville. you look at the garage is and halfway up the water, the

that is there needs to be elections in ukraine. >> well, that is right. you have heard a lot of conversations about this. this is something the russians are particularly focused on. they ukrainians did not have elections last year and i believe it was may when those would normally happen and they didn't happen. justified by the war and zelenskyy saying they needed to have stability in the country and that kind of thing. that is one of many things that will be on the table and really what we see right now, john, the beginnings the lay down of dial-up communicating these things important for each side of. we saw the bilateral conversation with the russians march 10th and bilateral conversation with the ukrainians. then we can start bringing the two sides together to see where things can go. one thing everybody agrees on whether putin or zelenskyy or everybody in between, donald trump is the key variants

and the only one position to bring the two sides together and bring an end to the conflict. >> john: general keith kellogg said earlier this month, "most democracies elections take place even during war time. i think it is important and good for democracy. the beauty of a strong democracy is having more than one potential candidate." ukraine says they cannot have under constitution now because under martial law. should this be read as an indication that donald trump is not exactly thrilled with volodymyr zelenskyy? >> well, i think that comes to mind for me, john, weather here in the united states or whether overseas, one of the things we hear a lot of this we have got to preserve democracy but i find it remarkable how often the solution to preserving democracy is dispose of democracy in the short term to preserve it in the long term. there is hypocrisy in that argument whether it be around free speech.

not at the table. in the last week and a half, you see the president of the united states with president galinsky and the president will make the secretary of state and secretary of treasury, general kellogg the envoy for russ russian/ukraine. all having conversations throughout the entire process so the idea ukrainians are not at the table for this is ridiculous. and i also find it a little ridiculous he threw a hissy fit about meeting with the russians first when they said they would meet with them and meet with ukrainians right behind that character they have a perfect justification way to meet with the russians fi first and simply there has not been conversations between the u.s. and russia for about three years now you're just so we need to start forming a foundation for conversations building on this going forward. i think it is a little bit of a ridiculous talking point somehow they ukrainians are not involved in this. it is not true. >> john: as you pointed out trump has talked to zelenskyy a
