20% of what doge is saving and give it back to the american people in the form of direct checks. we have seen those types of checks sent out to americans as recently as 2021 under the american rescue plan that joe biden signed into law. had to give bill about another round of that? >> yeah, i think that can be very interesting. obviously, we want to be careful about things that create inflation. putting money back into the taxpayer's pocket, it is hard to earn money. but is always a good thing. till let's look at a permanent weight in the future for more transparency of when our dollars are collected from our businesses and from us as individuals. how are those dollars really being spent? what are they allocating for? and what investments made in the future? sometimes you have to remove the complexity and go to simplicity and then relayed from bottoms up, be able to get to

transparency. >> carley: speaking of transparency, tresa yolanda said yesterday that criticism of doge and him is coming from people who say he cannot be trusted and he has ulterior motive then he k at people's personal information in a way that would benefit him. he answered, don't trust me but look at the 23 dog and you can see cutting and spending. and away it's happening government bureaucracies who were not transparent to begin with. what you think about that? does he have a point there met? >> he does have a point. the one thing i will caution people is if you think about what he is doing right now and some people call it an audit and some call it a sledge hammer. but what he is doing is data mapping, data classification transparency program. when he admitted that, early findings will change over time as the investigation continues. so it could be that garbage and, garbage out. as they are doing data mapping classification and releasing the results in real time, it is incredible for transparency.

administration." we will see, if president trump meets with russia's president later so stay tuned. >> todd: let's bring in former deputy national security advisor and the vp of national security at the heritage foundation, victoria coates. victoria, where do we go from here? >> good morning, todd. what we are seeing is positioning in the head of any negotiations. i think both president zelenskyy and president trump are media savvy and kind of laying out what they think are the positions of strength. but i think we have to remember president zelenskyy has allowed himself to be politicized by the biden administration. remember when he went to pennsylvania in the heat at the general election at the end of september last year to visit ammunition factory. it didn't take anyone from the republican side with them that just a bunch of democrats.

it was essentially campaign appearance for kamala harris. he has already deep and thick and american politics. i think president trump remembers that and doesn't appreciate out. >> todd: the left likes to say that trump favor putin and they are buddies and that is what the critics say. one theory i heard an interesting and i want to get your thoughts, trump wants to end the war but trying to build alliance with russia so that russia decouples from china. your thoughts on that. >> well, i think the most important thing to remember is of the last three presidencies in four if you count trump twice the only president under whom ukraine was not invaded by vladimir putin was donald trump. so with his relationship with vladimir putin prevented a horrible war and the first term, hopefully he can end this in the second term. that is deftly a better relationship with russia.

now putin's economic dependence on china is such it will be hard to peel him off. we can make that relationship problematic for china. that would be a good thing for our bigger challenge, much bigger than ukraine, which of course, china. >> todd: that is an important point. when you get lost in the weeds with china, the number one adversary we need, china, we need to keep our eye on the ball with regard to that. in the meantime, multiple hot spots around the world and you say we are no longer in a post world war ii era. what did you mean by that? i think it alludes to what we are talking about and probably involves train end. it as. in washington there is a game of pearl clutching and swooning over every little thing that donald trump does that doesn't suit the establishment and what i call the foreign policy blah. he is breaking china and

changing paradigms wanting to end the work rather than perpetuate it is apparently a radical act. everyone is saying he is destroying post-world war ii order. guess what, that was 80 years ago. we have all sorts of things happen since world war ii. we have had the cold war. we have had the war on terror. now we have the rise of china. i think we have to change that model. and we have to move on and realize the geopolitical landscape has changed. wet president trump is trying to do is deal with the crisis at the border, deal with china. this is a new world. i don't think we should be upset about that. we should welcome it and see what kind of opportunities it gives us. >> todd: i think it is important to adapt with the times whether ai or new world order you are talking about. it is time and we can't live in the past but move forward. victoria coates, great insight and we appreciated. national security advisor

after cartel locations and fentanyl labs. but the bigger issue is how cartels are starting to employ counsel across the border. they typically used for surveillance and moving drugs but we are seeing lethal strikes. it is full on drones race in and leveling up tactics and surveillance smuggling warfare and all steps you can buy off of the shelf. the drone war is spreading in all it takes is the will and raise the stakes. do you have criminal groups and drug cartels all operating south of the border. they are frankly moving faster than their own military when it comes to procuring lethal drone technology. we may be over there surveilling the tech, but they are on the ground actually using it. the cartels are not stupid. they have seemingly or task to spend on drone technology. i think we will see a lot more attacks across the border because president trump declared the cartels as a terrorist

president just designate a cartels as drug trafficking organization means a new round of funding and opens up other lines of ways to get after it. there is potential danger that are armed forces will be hit with some of the drone technology that they are using out there, especially as scalable and massive technology now starting to spread throughout the world. till they are starting to pay attention to iraq and ukraine and potentially use that against our own people. one of the other things we are also seeing our anti-drone systems are counter drone systems pop up. the cartel who allegedly has electronic warfare systems actually stop our drones from coming after them and disrupt that. so, you have really got a difficult situation and top u.s. general last year testified that over 1,000 drones a month were crossing into the u.s. airspace and our guys have to deal with

that every day. >> carley: brett, what about the iron dome president trump has called for? could that protect from those drones? >> we need something like that for sure. we know everyone remembers the recent drone sightings in new jersey. i think it was clear we were not prepared for that. sure, we can track ballistic missiles and large-scale planes, but i think what a lot of people realize is we don't have the actual ability to shoot down or attract smaller level drones, which is what we will see general of norad just admitted that. we don't have the proper systems in place. i think we will see a lot more technology technology being used. we have to get ahead of it before the enemy does. >> carley: times are changing we need to get ahead of that before the enemy does. thank you for joining us as always. appreciate it. >> thank you, carley. >> carley: trump and end to congestion pricing in new york. todd loves it and fire a

we're going to dramatically cut taxes for families and for workers and for companies, including no tax on tips and hopefully no tax on social security and no tax on overtime. and that overtime one is a sleeper. because i think a lot of people are going to be spurred on to do a lot of extra work. >> carley: florida congressman greg steube. he wrote we need both chambers to house budget to kick start the reconciliation process and move our priorities to the one big beautiful bill. it will, without question, make america great again. is he throwing his support behind one bill instead of two, which is good news for the house. where do things go from here? >> yeah, and the house budget resolution passed last week when we go up next week back to washington. i expect we are going to be voting for that bill on the floor it. should get all of the support. chip roy who had some concerns about it and the budget committee voted for it. passed strictly on party lines. and we will send that one big

beautiful budget resolution bill to the senate. and then if they want to make tweaks to it, they can. i would expect they pass that out and send it to the senate and have him sign it. the budget reconciliation bill has to pass first before working on a tax package that sets the parameters to what we can and cannot include in the tax package. in the current resolution is $4.5 trillion in tax cuts. once the bill passes, then we can start looking at specifically what those tax cuts are going to look like. you just heard the president of what he wants on there. no tax on tips. making tcja permanent. those are the things we have talked about for the last couple of years and now having the house, the senate, and the white house we can make it reality for the american people. >> i'm having trouble john thune's play. who are the seven democrats in the senate who would vote to extend the trump tax cuts if the tax cuts are not in the big beautiful first bill that would be reconciliation and have to be in a second non-reconciliation
