perino. >> bill: good morning on thursday. bill hemmer. president trump directing his administration to identify all federally funded programs currently providing any financial benefits to illegal immigrants. he is ordering government officials to make certain that federal payments are not used to subsidize or promote illegal immigration or to support sanctuary policies that try to shield criminal aliens from apprehension with the possibility of deportation. >> dana: the latest is a series of actions taken by an administration that has made securing the border and cracking down on illegal immigration a top priority. >> president trump: first and most urgent mission is to remove the criminals that biden allowed into our country with the ridiculous and very dangerous open borders policy. they came from all over the world. we're getting them out. in record levels just like they came in in record levels. >> dana: griff jenkins with more in washington. hi, griff. >> good morning. this order is a big deal because

for years, dana, officials have said free stuff like federally funded benefits are a big incentive for illegal immigration. it directs every department and agency to cut out the programs to those illegal arguments. over the next ten years they estimate the current cost to taxpayers, 50 billion for obamacare, 40 billion for medicaid, 15 billion for food stamps and list goes on. all that likely to end. the federation for american immigration reform calculates taxpayers already spend over $180 billion annually to house, clothe, feed, transport and support illegal immigrants. the manhattan institute says every new illegal immigrants costs taxpayers $130,000. this order seeks to cut off funds to those sanctuary cities in states and mandates

improvements in welfare eligibility verification. this one is important. if you recall back in 1996 when president clinton signed a law to end welfare abuse it barred illegal immigrants from receiving a wide range of benefits. under the biden administration, if they got paroled into the u.s. they became qualified aliens and eligible for en bits. that will likely end as well. the administration designated the latin american cartels as foreign terrorist organizations and that includes tren de aragua and ms-13. >> dana: they're coming at them on all sides. former speaker of the house kevin mccarthy will join us next. great to have you. one of the things is that american taxpayers how did this happen in the first place? >> exactly the question. you have watched, why are we giving incentives for illegal behavior? the other thing to look at when you get the liberal governors like gavin newsom. when he does this in california it costs the federal taxpayer

and not just the california taxpayer. this is just another promise being kept by president trump that he said he would crack down on this and it is also a way we could save and look at america first. make the investment in america with americans. >> bill: kristi noem, dhs last night said this about the illegals. >> the people could see because it was changing in their communities around them and we watched families lose their children. they saw children that were trafficked, drugs killing our generation of kids. it was all happening because of that open border. we have a president that puts america first and secured the border and allowing us to deport people in record numbers and we're deporting dangerous criminals. we are getting them out of the country. every day we save lives because of the work we're doing. >> bill: i don't know if you can see the graphic. viewers at home it spiked for the 3 1/2 years we could argue and then the beginning of december because the biden administration started to crack

7:07 am
that was a heck of a month as i recall. what can you do with an approval rating like that to push forward the agenda? >> you could actually move your agenda. congress is serving up the tail winds of president trump. another poll that now republicans outnumber democrats. we have moved up those who identify. we haven't seen that since back in the 2000s, unheard of. this means they should govern and pass the president's agenda. i think the senate has done a rock star job. you watch what the leader thune has done from all these confirmations. this is faster than any given time. because president trump was prepared. they are doing the budget reconciliation. they also have a march 14th deadline coming up for government funding that they left from last cycle. they also have to do the debt ceiling. getting that done will help you get the rest of the agenda through when you do for energy policy, follow up on making it law from the border policy and

7:10 am
than any other u.s. president. swalwell's claim appears to be false. according to data there have been five fatal aviation mishops from trump took office and ten for biden. it didn't stop swalwell from saying trump is president. president trump is in charge of air safety. all crashes are trump's fault. new poll from the associated press shows 64% of adults think flying is very or somewhat safe. 17% think it is very or somewhat unsafe. roughly the same poll results were found when people asked how safe they felt while walking or riding in a car, bill. >> bill: there you have it. i'm still flying. i think you are, too, even as a navy man. nice to see you. >> absolutely disgusting what hamas has done to the israeli people. their attacks. i stand with president trump. i think netanyahu needs to be firmer with them.

when they find out their bodies come home in coffins locked by hamas and they handed keys to the red cross but the keys did not fit the coffins. it is just another insult to injury. then parading these coffins through a large crowd of cheering people was just another insult to injury. these people have no bounds of decency, none whatsoever. hamas has really demonstrated in every single day why they cannot remain in any part of control not just of gaza but anywhere. they just are savages. >> dana: when you are confirmed as ambassador you'll dig into issues of phase two of the cease-fire. steve witkoff, watch. >> these two includes 19idf soldiers. we believe there are live and others as well. includes alexander who we've been pressing for.

he is an american and israeli citizen as well. it is a little more intricate and complicated in terms of how we bring the two sides together on this. because phase two contemplates an end of the war but it also contemplates hamas not being involved in the government and being gone from gaza. >> dana: one of the things that you would do once there would be to help implement phase two but look at the broader region. what can you say about that? >> the point of optimism is that president trump's vision for the middle east is one that has real hope. he saw through the abraham accords in his first term. he was there for a second term we would have seen it expanded. i believe with the disruption of things in syria, collapse of hezbollah in lebanon, there is a realignment going on in the middle east. when the king of jordan sat down with president trump at the white house for the first time

of course, we mourn with people and pray for people but also asking as their government why did this happen to your child in the first place? the answer is that under joe biden your government didn't do its job. under donald trump it is. thank god for that. [applause] >> on the economy. i get this question all the time. this question of affordability. a lot of stress on our families, something that i think joe biden could not manage in terms of really helping lower that cost of living and making things simply more affordable. we talked about energy independence being a critical component of this, of insuring that we unleash this economic prosperity. what more needs to be done? >> yeah, so one of the first interviews i did was -- i think it was six or seven days after the inauguration and somebody asked me it has been six days, what have you done to fix the inflation crisis created by jabbed? i'm like first of all it has been six days. we have done a lot in six days

but it will take some time to fix what joe biden broke over four years. we know it is easy, unfortunately, to burn the house down. it takes a little bit of time to build it back up. here is what we have to do because look, the fundamental goal of our immigration policy, of our border policy, of doge saving taxpayer money, the fundamental goal is we want your children and grandchildren to be able to raise a family in security and comfort in the country we all love. that's the whole goal of president trump's agenda. [applause] safety and prosperity, right? common sense stuff. we know that to do that we have to first of all unleash american energy. why is that so important? we all know grocery prices got too high under joe biden's leadership. one of the main drivers is energy.

farmers are paying more for energy. if truck drivers are paying more for fuel we're paying more for what the truck drivers are delivering to the grocery store. if we unleash american energy it will do more than anything to drive down the costs for the american people. the second thing mercedes is we've got to stop spending the american people's money on garbage. every dollar -- [applause] >> every dollar we take in and spend you have to pay for either through taxes or through inflation. if we spend the american people's money more wisely, stop taxing and spending the american people to death, that's also going to bring relief to all the pricing pressures out there. we'll make it affordable to live in this country again. that's our mandate and goal and you are right, there is a lot more we can do. we have a good start after 30 days. >> we got a pretty good start but -- [applause]

>> but we've got this big one bill budget areconciliation bil. what is the administration doing to insure that a lot of what the president is wanting to do in terms of really pushing forward with economic prosperity and tax relief initiative gets done? >> it's really important. the senate has its own approach and the president has been very clear his preference is to put everything in one bill. legislative strategy. the president learned a lot about how d.c. works and i talked to the president about this yesterday. he said it's rare you can get two reconciliation bills done in one congress, which is why he thinks we have to do a lot with that one big beautiful bill, the first reconciliation package we'll get through the house and senate. it is going well. it is early. this stuff takes time to put together. i think if you had a record pace
7:36 am
reconciliation bill we would get this thing done in may or june. i think we're on track to do that. we have to do basic things. we have to continue to unleash american energy. that's part of the reconciliation bill. we have to make sure other countries stop taking advantage of us. that's a big part of president trump's tariff policy is we have to stop being taken advantage of. [applause] of course we want to make president trump tax cuts permanent and extend them into the future. no taxes on tips. we have to do some of the things we talked about during the campaign. that has to be part of it. finally and really important. everything the president has done on the border we have got to empower him to do it not just for a month but for the next four years and we have to hire more border patrol agents. with he have to give tom homan and stephen miller and kristi noem the resources they need to secure the border. [applause] and a related issue, mercedes, is you can't just stop it. you have to allow european peoples, and the american people, too, to raise issues about it. you have to allow free speech to

debate this stuff. you have to stop doing things to the populations of the world. you have to give the populations of the world the opportunity to speak up and say no more of this b.s. we want borders, we want sovereignty and want to be able to speak our own mind in our own country. i guarantee you, if we don't allow free speech. the biden administration did more to destroy free speech not just in the united states but also in europe than any administration in american history. i'm not even blaming the europeans. i'm actually saying you followed the lead of joe biden into censorship and mass migration. follow the lead of donald trump and that's free speech, borders and sovereignty. that's the future for our shared civilization. that's happening at cpac. we had our second cpac international summit yesterday and we have many of these european conservative european leaders with us today standing in solidarity because they have an opportunity to basically make europe great again. make asia great again, make late -latin america great again. what does this mean with the u.s. in giving that speech, what does it mean with the u.s.'s relationship with europe? >> obviously we'll continue to have important alliances with europe. i really do think the strength of those alliances is going to depend on whether we take our societies in the right direction. think about this. germany's entire defense is subsidized by the american taxpayer. there are thousands upon thousands of american troops in

he wants to bring lasting peace to europe. he doesn't just want to stop it now and have the war restart a month from now. he wants to bring lasting peace to europe because the president believes this and is absolutely right. peace is in the interest of russia, in the interest of ukraine, in the interest of europe. most importantly peace is in the interest of the american people and he will fight for it for the remainder of his administration wherever war breaks out he will be the president of peace. he, of course, is a very good negotiator, very good businessman. he recognizes that a lot of these issues are tough. it will take a smart statesman to figure this stuff out. we have that in the white house and i really believe we're on the cusp of peace in europe for the first time in three years because we have leadership from the oval office and we haven't had it for four years in this country.
