>> will: live from the heartland this is the will cane show. looking life at the white house, as we are expecting president trump to speak soon, hosting a black history month reception at the white house. when that starts we will -- we will bring it to you here but in the meantime, we start with this. president trump has been flagged, like two signals to his left and his right. two lieutenants at almost all times during his presidency. i elon musk and j.d. vans. elon musk has been a bit of the muscle behind donald trump. with d.o.g.e go to the federal government and ensuring executive orders executed. but there is been no better rhetorical voice for america first, then president trump other lieutenant. that is vice president j.d. vans. he made news earlier this week when he spoke at the munich security conference. today, j.d. vance stood at the

cpac convention and defended not only western civilization but the way that pragmatism and america first has driven the agenda of donald trump. i have out, standing by to analyse this with me. we are going to start with that sound of j.d. vans defending pragmatism in western civilization. >> when he walks into a negotiation he says, everything is on the table and of course that makes the heads explode, in the american media because they say, why are you talking to russia? how are you going to end the war unless you are talking to russia? you have to talk to everybody involved in the fighting if you actually want to bring the conflict to a close. it's simple, he wants the killing to stop. he wants to bring lasting peace to europe, he does not just want to stop and now would have the war restart one month from now. he wants to bring lasting peace to europe because, the president

believes this and he is absolutely right. piece is in the interest of russia, of ukraine, europe. >> will: you're vice president j.d. vans defending the pragmatism of america first. right now, underneath the ground of everyone's feet the political landscape in america is shifting, the traditional dynamic of left and right republican and democrat no longer applies to the new world. in this new world, it's being defined by j.d. vance and donald trump. tommy is the host of fearless at out,.com and she joins me now. what you hear from j.d. vans when it comes to how we put negotiations with russia and ukraine? >> listen, when i listen to vice president j.d. vance i hear him speaking common sense, he speaks the way the american people speak with transparency and honesty, and i believe the american people are smart enough
1:04 pm
to handle that and as well as our allies. they are strong and smart enough to understand that while we put america first, they should put their own countries and their own comments first as well. he also believes in free speech, he believes that if you disagree with something you should have the right, the ability and the expression to be able to say that and say without fear of repercussion are being jailed over a meme. i think with all of the chaos that some would say comes with the president trump or elon musk , of these big personalities, i think that vice president j.d. vance is a calming force in fact are speaking the way the american people speak, he does not speak over people. i think it's a refreshing change of pace for our vice president. kamala harris could never, mike pence could never, but i also think it really balances out this administration. i loved his talk today at cpac it was conversational and it was right to the heart of the american people. >> will: perfect transition because j.d. vance and

1:07 pm
in this war. number 4, you have to talk to everyone who started the war and continued to maintain it and finally, he said the way this current path of this war is bad for everyone. that for the europeans, about for the ukrainians, about for the russians and a bad the united states of america. i thought that right there, laying out five principles that show a pragmatic approach to pursuing the interest of the minute -- of america in ending this way forward of the war, between ukraine and russia the one well,. >> we are a compassionate nation. we would love to see ukraine win this war without ceding any territory, that's an ideal situation unfortunately we live in reality what president trump has said is that, we are not going to keep doing this over and over and over, we are not going to keep sending billions

of dollars to fund an endless war. while that might satisfy those have had invested interest in the military industrial complex it does not serve the american people and quite frankly, it does not serve ukrainian people either. they are diane, the russian people are dying, we need to bring this to a close and to an end and while that might ruin volodymyr zelenskyy's ego, the ukrainian people at this point are also ready for an end to this so come to the table, make a deal. >> will: thank you, a little bit later in the program we will be talking more about j.d. vance and the western civilization, the big game tonight against usa and canada vinod trump is hosting reception honouring black history month from the east room of the white house. it looks like he is joined by tiger woods. >> president donald trump: tiger we know and i want to thank adam and tiger and the commissioner of golf, thank you very much for being here. head of the pga, we offend

>> there are so many people and you would say, really? i've seen on social media everybody is so glad to be here and so much excitement for what we are seeing right now and how every single day there is lots of news to report from this very stand here at fox news about what the president is doing to make america great again and it is certainly cliche, it's an acronym but it is legit -- legitimate. >> will: was that you that started that? >> no i was a follower with that but they are excited because of the future of this country, the long term future not the next four years. >> will: well, i appreciate you bringing that up like out -- about courage and people coming out to show their support. and to highlight the courage it takes for black americans. i know personally how much

courage you have shown throughout the last five or 10 years. of your career and just do as an american i appreciate you think you for joining us. >> and congratulations on the show, so well deserved. >> will: i look forward to having a longer conversation with you. now to another big event, usa, versus canada. maybe not this time in a tariff war, maybe not this time for an annexation of the 51st state but, on the ice! for the finals of the four nations face-off. it's been a showstopper, it is the hockey showdown of the decade. this match up has become bigger than hockey. it's about pride, patriotism, country. we already heard the canadian fans view our national anthem during the first matchup but just today president trump called a team usa to wish them luck. the team also got inspiration from the 1980 olympic hockey team captain. they were told when you put the usa jersey on that it's the

greatest thing you can have. joining me now is not only olympic gold when medallist michael ruse leoni, is the 1999 stanley cup champion and, i don't know how many time team usa member, 11 times i think and another team usa member san jose sharks and dallas star superstar joe. great to have you on the show thank you. >> thank you. >> will: mike, let's start with you. you gave the team, you talked to the team you've worn the jersey, you've won the gold. what did you have to say, what do they need to know tonight? >> i just talked about embracing the moment. this is a game that he will remember for the rest of our lives. any time you put a usa jersey on it's a special feeling. you were not playing with the montreal canadiens, you are playing for your country and i just want to give them my opinion regarding that. i did not have to tell them anything they knew from the start. how important it is to put the

jersey on and like i said i kind of reiterated the fact that this is a special time in your life, not many people get an opportunity to do what they are able to do. and enjoyed and embrace it. >> will: mike, earlier today i had the chance to speak with lexie lawless, i asked him about this, i said what does it feel like to put on the usa jersey? as compared to any club you've ever played for? mike you are a legend in dallas, what is the end of minnesota and across america. what is a like to put on that team usa jersey? >> certainly it's an honour like mike said there is a lot of pride and a lot of honour representing your country and you want to quell there and do the best you can and help the team win and you collaborate with some of the other best usa players in the country and you have an opportunity. i had great guys i looked up to, obviously mike what he did in 1980 was a pivotal moment for us

as kids and having an opportunity and 96 to do the same in the world cup. those guys were all big heroes of hours. to have the chance to play with them and kind of set a standard and hope that everybody behind us gets to follow and do the same thing. it's an exciting time and i cannot wait for tonight. >> will: a couple weeks ago we watched the stars play, honouring joe pawlowski and i got to meet joe and i said to him that night, feel more like a san jose sharks or dallas star? he gave me an answer and i don't have to share it was very political but it was an awesome answer! the question now is, where it is putting on that usa jersey compare? >> it's the best. it's incredible. these guys came before me. laid out the groundwork for all of that and growing up that is where you want to get to. you get to the nhl and anytime there is a season, it's a best

am best olympic world cup, it's in the back of your mind from training camp. i was fortunate enough to play in the 2010 olympics in vancouver. and 2016 world cup and it was one of the biggest honours i had going in there. i will always remember that game against canada and vancouver in 2010. we played they are and for the gold medal and we lost in overtime. still one you would never if -- you would never fully get over believing that city that day, the energy that was in that building, in the city, it's a game that you just could never get over. to be lucky enough to be a part of it, and everything you could take from those games really helped me throughout my career and just a tremendous honour to put on the usa journey and try to represent the best you can. >> will: now was the point in the interview will it tell my producers i want you to drop a canadian hockey player into the

interview, see how these three guys react. and let the trash talk start. and fortunately all the canadians were not ready to jump on the show today. i'm going to go quickly to all three of you, i will start with you captain . you were standing on the ice, they view the american national anthem, you do what makes you feel like what? >> i was very disappointed. in that situation. i think again it's a hockey game. it is nothing to do with politics. 1980 was different we played the soviets and it was a big battle from a political standpoint. this is two great countries, two proud countries and great hockey players that come from both countries. i hope we don't hear anything like that tonight. >> will: but if it does, you would drop the gloves like the brothers right? [laughter] >> sports in general there is doing all the time.

-- there is a booing all the time. i believe it in sports, they are so well respected. it's kind of like a safe space. you go to a game in buffalo with two american games playing and they played the canadian anthem because fans are there, it's how much we respect each other. as players and teammates we respect to that. definitely, it adds to that and the spirit of the story line and i could not love any more than what... >> will: i know there is a brotherhood and it is all cross borders and hockey. mike, we have 10 seconds, who wins usa or canada? >> oh, boy,, we have to go with usa. i lived and played hockey in prince albert, saskatchewan, so i know how passionate canadian fans are
