new administration has accomplished more than most administrations do in four years. on day one, i declared a national emergency on our southern border. i sent our military to the border to secure the sovereign territory of the united states of america. we ended catch and release. we began the largest deportation operation in american history. illegal border crossings have plummeted by nearly 100 percent and the tiny number of illegals that do make it across are being apprehended and sent right back to their home where they belong and to bring down the price of energy, i declared a national energy emergency. to slash hundreds of billions of dollars in waste and fraud, we're talking about also an abuse. i created, as you possibly have read just a little bit the department of government efficiency. under our leadership, the republican party has become the proud voice of hardworking citizens of every race, religion, color and creed.

>> brian: behind the scenes is doge front and center cut the budget and get our financial fiscal house in order. when he talks about the illegal border crossings, february of 2024, there was 2872. there was a high of like 8,000. february 2025 now more border agents than crossers. 359. >> >> ainsley: per day. >> brian: now haven't gotten the money to finish wall that joe biden sold off, selling off and re-purpose dollars the money. james carville on with sean last night says well, i just think that what i have seen so far that we have so sit back and watch trump, i guess, hurt himself. watch. >> we 70 string quarterback lost and picked up a congressional seat. i think she was going to win and she didn't win. yes, all the polling showed it even. it turned out of to be a 1.5 race. we lost seats.

i'm telling the democrats, just sit there, play possum. let them go. let them go. let them go. poll numbers are declining. the collapse is underway. let's see when they where they put the medicaid budget tax $4.5 trillion of tax cuts to wealthy people. just let the ball come to you. we don't need to be aggressive now. >> ainsley: he has quite a personality. everyone thinks he is funny to watch. but he is lying. that is not true. the poll numbers are not down for donald trump. if you ask -- if you look at some of the poll numbers, they are in the 70s for him. some of his approval ratings are in the 70s. elon musk has said -- i don't want to be political. i'm just coming in here to save our country money so we don't go bankrupt so when he talks about social security. when he talks about medicare. elon says all the money we are saving is going to go toward that to support it to keep our country running. >> lawrence: i also get the impression that you are rooting for the country to fail. i don't like that. it's like, you know, you are

waiting for something to implode and i just -- when you look at james carville and what he is known for. is he known for those relatable messages back there with clinton. and donald trump is -- has taken that entire coalition. so, why not tell your party to find those areas where they can agree with the president with cutting taxes, making sure thought jobs stay here in america. making sure -- all these people used to say that he wanted justice, but donald trump is saying that he wants them to focus on the criminals now in this country. not target political opponents. get rid of the corruption. and no democrat is signing on to reorganize our department of justice. so, i mean, rooting against the country, i'm just not for that i never rooted against joe biden. never. >> brian: james carville is the charles barkley of politics. everybody is a great booking. sensational -- colorful. and i just can remember he guaranteed kamala harris would win. he talked about how wonderful she was.

now she says he is a seventh round draft pick? please. you can't have it both ways. he did to his credit call out joe biden ahead of joe biden. and i got to say one thing, please, don't accept because donald trump's is a billionaire giving tax cuts for billionaires. the most people that benefited from the tax reform not tax cuts, tax reform were middle class americans and then they only took off 1 percent of the upper class because it would increase 1% under barack obama. the corporate tax rates aren't for jamie dimon. and for-and for ceos. they are for the corporations. not just to allow them to come back to america. they were coming back to america. >> lawrence: brian, it's not just that it's no tax on tips. >> the ones in place already. >> lawrence: like the whole message is that the whole reason why donald trump is doing all of this is just for the rich. it's a working class message, no tax on tips. no tax on overtime.

no tax on social security. this is something everybody should agree on. >> brian: top 10% pay 70% of the taxes in america. they are already paying 55% of their income. goes to federal government. how much more do you want the most successful people in our country to give back because they are going to higher less. hire less. that's the fundamental bernie sanders thought and donald trump thought. >> ainsley: a few weeks before june 15th, had you george clooney, had you julia roberts in this picture with barack obama and joe biden. they threw that big fundraiser for joe biden's next campaign and they loved him. >> lawrence: this was before the debate. >> ainsley: that was before the debate. that was on the 15th of june. then on june 27th, a few days after that was the debate or a few weeks after that. then on july 21st, after
4:12 am
george clooney sent a letter out because then it was obvious joe biden didn't have cog -- he had cognitive decline. then joe biden drops out on jul. so this all happened within the course before a month. now, george clooney loved him until all of america saw that he was declining and he couldn't handle it. and george clooney saw it before too and never said a word until he realized the world stage knew it after the debate. so he is interviewed by maureen dowd for the "new york times," brian. >> brian: this is the editorial. he has already been on the record and he wrote an editorial saying joe biden has got to go. he gives us a behind the scenes look at what led to that george clooney headline of the article. biden advocated his responsibility. by hiding his incapacities. i would actually put his family in there, too. clooney told me and the media in many ways dropped the ball. really? so the media never called them out, all of them. when they did call them out there was huge blow back.
4:13 am
and he said he noticed it behind the scenes that he wasn't the same guy and he said. >> ainsley: he still never called out. >> brian: when barack obama led him off the stage they thought barack obama called clooney to write the editorial. he said obama never told him to do that he did it on his own. people worst of both words. biden is angry, harris is in. harris loses and they both loos. they lose the senate. >> lawrence: they have got to stop lying. they really do. look, the first step toward rebuilding the democratic party is saying on record all of them, the elected officials, the celebrity, if you want to restore trust in the american people, just say we saw it behind the scenes. and we didn't say anything. we didn't say anything because we thought that the staff running the white house we got all of our agenda items through. and we were okay with that. because that's what really happened.
4:14 am
everyone behind the scenes, including george clooney, saw what was going on with the president, and you said nothing until he fell out on the stage for all of us to see. and that's the thing that has destroyed your party right now. that's why you had to rush the process. you couldn't have the special election. that's why you are stuck with kamala harris. >> brian: i saw him for hours earlier at the kennedy center. and saw someone much sharp. clooney said he was god smacked. the guy who couldn't leave the stage. we watched him fall apart in the debated. we saw barack obama and everybody else not say anything. and nancy pelosi stood up and said something. he writes the editorial but, bill clinton, hillary clinton, nobody else pushed it. and when we sat on the couch and say this guy can't function. he's only working two hours a day. this is bad for the country. now they said you are being ageist or you are being partisan. >> ainsley: can't say i saw him at the ccontend center.
4:15 am
he only writing that letter the world knew it. they were all trying to hide his cognitive decline and he couldn't handle the debate. >> lawrence: ainsley they are trying to water it down. he wasn't less sharp. all of us have had family members gone through this. >> brian: i blame the family. >> lawrence: 100 percent blame the family. they don't know what they are going through at that time. it's clearly a medical condition. just be honest, about it. stop trying to say he lost his fast ball. it's not that. the president has a medical condition. then we have to put the dlarm oh we are not doctors, we're not doctors. no, we are not doctors bus we have loved ones gone through the same exact thing and saw it before our eyes. lawrence. >> ainsley: other people running our country. didn't know who they were specifically. they prom him up to be the fails of the country and he can't make decisions. >> lawrence: no. >> brian: "u.s.a. today" give credit.
