all the criticism he took, he's the ninth fbi director. only nine and they serve for ten year terms and if he's going for the core mission of the fbi back to accountability and being the best cops in the nation, then i think that's going to be a message that will resound across the rank and file, particularly after he's going after some of the leadership and we saw james comey and the others and that was an obvious target but he wants to go further than that, which is to make the country trust again and respect people when they see him when fbi is on their chest. rachel: you hit the nail on their head and fbi turned for the american people and the appointment and confirmation of kash patel selecting him to be there was a signal to the country, kevin. this is not the way this agency is used anymore to terrorize its own people versus go after the bad guys. kevin: can i just say i'm extremely proud of you for saying the exact word that i

think a lot of agents would say. terrorizing people, unnecessarily, this is rank and file folks that work for the bureau that you wouldn't know. you wouldn't see. they've been just as frustrated as millions of americans sing the direction. there's a big gap and it's fair to say in the feeling of washington between the rank and file is and some in leadership. so for a number of them, they feel very strongly that this is finally our opportunity to reclaim our mantle and something else too, rachel. moving agents out of dc is part of the broader administration to de-centralize washington. i for one as a westerner am thrilled about that because a big country out there, get them out of dc and send to alabama and send to colorado or whatever so they can do their job and that's be cops. rachel: anyone wondering why they're not doing that kind of stuff before. why they were embedding

griff: in swap comes after israel confirm that had a body handed over earlier this week is that of hostage shiri bibas. reporter: overnight dramatic news about another hostage. those released are three hostages in their 20s taken from the music festival on october 7. also a 40-year-old and house and father captured that same day and two in their 30s held after entering gaza some ten years ago. the first release showing them in the usual propaganda-filled

manner by hamas militants and now israel and team watched to choppered to a hospital here in tel aviv just a few minutes ago. then handed over to red cross in another location in gaza. an extended ugly hamas photo opportunistic of wenkert and young men in their 20s looking thinner and gaunt and signs of illnesses they suffered in captivity and they're now in israeli hands. all the while at various locations across israel and families and loved ones of those freed watching nervously and joy as these folks are freed after more than 50 days of captivity and we understand some family members have already been reunited with some of the frees hostages. also overnight. hamas transferring what they said was remains of 32-year-old shiri bibas, the mother of little ari and kifir.

to the toddlers identified and said to be murdered in gaza and body of the mother turned out to be unknown women. israel confirms latest returned body is that of the mother. her family saying in a statement, shiri was returned home. benjamin netanyahu in a tv message calling for revenge against hamas. what president trump had to say to brine kilmeade in a radio interview about that. >> finishing for a terrorist organization trying to destroy you. are you okay either way? >> i really am. look, when you see what's happening here, it's a hard thing to say. you just want to know the condition of the hostages that they have. one group came in so bad and looked like it was concentration camp and i think they're trying to give the best ones first and the best ones are ones i'm seeing, they're in really bad shape.

reporter: again, as you folks noted, we're waiting for that sixth hostage to be released. also the exchange for israel for the six hostages freed today, some 600 palestinian prisoners from israeli prisons. that's high price but some great joy today. back to you. rachel: greg, that's a great report and i want to follow up on that sound between brian kilmeade and donald trump and that's fascinating and he's been sort of the question the whole way since october and how much do you prioritize getting the prisoners out versus the attacks on gaza and trying to root out hamas? so what is the sentiment in israel among israeli citizens? talking about the joy they're feeling having the hostages released but the sadness knowing there's still some there versus rooting out hamas. where do they want benjamin

netanyahu to fall on this question? reporter: negotiations between israel and hamas and other parties haven't even begun and certainly netanyahu and israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu talking about the possibility that basically ditching that and going in and finishing off hamas and some of the others in the trump administration are calling for implementation of phase 2. this could string it out for weeks and could see all sorts of trouble ahead, rachel. griff: greg, i want to show our viewers here in new york the cover of the post today is the headline saying monsters, and

it's talking about hamas murdering israeli babies and bibas babies and has picture of when they paraded the bodies of the children in the streets, and i was struck because even antonio gutierrez, the secretary general of un tweeted about that moment saying that he "condemned it because it violated international law and completely disrespected the dignity of the death, in this case children and a baby". is there more discussion there in israel about that and where does it go? reporter: yeah, griff, this really hit home. the bibas family for many, many months becoming a symbol of the horrors of the hamas captivity, these israelis and others and in fact just in the last day or so, the confirmation that no, these kids, this family were not

killed in an israeli air strike but in fact were strangled, at least the kids we know, were confirmed to be strangled by their militant captors has really, really hit home. we're hesitant to show the video of those coffins being carried, but in that still that the post shows, coffins, large and small, being carried by the militants. can't get more serious and more touching and more moving for the israeli public to see this and to stiffen their resolve. first seeing the hostages, all of them free, but also to remove hamas as a major strategic threat, griff. griff: just despicable. kevin: yeah, really awful. before we let you go for this particular block, greg, i want to ask you about the islamic world. sometimes people try to make

this equivalency between hamas and islam. there's those that say that's not an accurate representation of their faith and yet i'm noticing that there seems to be some pushback even in the islamic world from what we've seen with the little babies. i mean, this was atrocious. are you hearing anything like that, especially from your perch overseas? reporter: we're seeing and hearing the arab nations don't have incredible warmth for the idea but they'd rather hamas not be there either. remember in the past day, there's been meetings between leaders of arab nations about reconstructing gaza in place for the president trump plan to renovate things and, yes, they are willing to go in there, spend money, rebuild, but we've heard from many officials that they do not want hamas in a leading -- in any kind of governing position. i think there's been some

neither a king or dictator as much as this one tries to act like it, and it is the rule of the law that preventing him from being so but do not be misled, this is not just about who can compete on the athletic field. this is about whether a president can force compliance with his will without regard for the rule of law that governs our nation. i believe he cannot". it's hard to believe after this election and after seeing the poll numbers on whether americans believe boys should take over girls sports. that she's going to -- this is the sword she'll fall on. kevin: i think the president makes an excellent point, which is this. see how well your constituents feel about you deciding that,

leadership and i think president trump is exemplifying that going back to the courtroom and we have kids that can't read and write and following this crisis and 71% of high school dropouts are finalists and it's about getting our families back and getting that accountability back and we talk about school choice but a lot of kids doesn't even apply to them because mom is working until 6 or 7:00 and dad is nowhere to be found. so we have to reestablish family before we can reestablish our education system, and i think that is something that people don't want to talk about. the root cause. kevin: yeah, why going to cpac to share this vision is so important. we're in the business, we get a chance to see it but for the folks that have never watched, why is that such an important aspect of this administration? jaire it's so important because you get so much coverage and

the courts siding with elon musk. can i tell you my favorite case is the catholic church going up against a u.s. catholic bishop's council saying you better give us the money and elon musk winning in that case. it's up for apeople and talk to us about that and cases that are relevant. >> absolutely. the big picture with the doge lawsuits are that many people on the left don't like the idea of what president trump and elon musk are doing but legally speaking, there's not a strong argument against why they cannot do that and sergely many people support president trump and he ran on this campaign promise to cut out waste of the federal government. the lawsuits primarily focus on ideas they're a privacy act or other sensitive investigation-type systems or that elon musk doesn't have the authority to do this job and he's not senate approved.

and essentially we've seen many of these lower court judges, even ones that were appointed by democrats and disagree at least with the preliminary stages and certainly there's a lot of momentum for doge and the legal arguments behind these moves are very strong. rachel: changing the name to doge and giving elon musk authority to do this. can you talk to me about the u.s. council -- bishop's council case against elon musk ands trump administration? >> the case essentially involves the idea that the president retains this authorize to make broad decisions regarding these funds that go for congress

dictating the funding and that goes from the white house and he's entitled to have advisers that give him advice about how to handle that. elon musk is not acting independently for the white house here and he is at behest opportunistic them. i as we know, so much of that has to do with the children that have been lost, 300,000 of them which so many of ngos in the catholic church are complicit and what's happened to the catholic church. katie cheryl: c cherkowski, thar joining us.
