police officer in pennsylvania was fatally shot inside a hospital saturday while two other officers were shot and killed during a traffic stop in virginia beach late friday night. cb cotton is here w at the late. >> and gaston 24 hours we learned of three officers on the east coast to being shot and killed. first in virginia beach, virginia that police chief says two of his officers were executed after a traffic stop on friday. photos of the fallen officers have just been released. officer cameron on the left of your screen have been with the department since 2020. officer christopher reese on the right since 2022. virginia beach police says the men tried to stop a car with an expired plate. investigator said the suspect, jon mccoy the third until reaching a dead end. they said when mccoy finally got out of the car a tussle broke out according to the chief who says it ended moments later when mccoy pulled a pistol from his

pocket and shot both officers who later died at local hospitals. the police department says the suspect 102,009 felony conviction and his body was found at a nearby shed with what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. >> this incident was caught on a body worn camera and the in car camera. so yes, we have video of all of it. i will tow it is quite horrific. >> nearly 30 miles south of harrisburg, pennsylvania around 10:30 a.m. saturday morning suspect ortiz held a hospital staff members as hostages and even restrained one of them with a zip tie for the district attorney said during a news conference police departments arrived on scene to defuse the situation. but, a shoot out eventually took place by the suspect was killed and three police officers were struck to include officer andrew who was killed. according to his linkedin page she had served with the westward

ukraine? >> the near-term you've got to get a successful peace negotiation were cease-fire but hopefully it ends up laughing there's a lot of details the devil is in the details. let's assume that is successful. the next thing is you get lasting a enduring shared intert one of the foundations of that is economic so that is how this mineral deal solidifies a u.s./ukrainian security arrangement. not necessarily explicitly but with u.s. interest in ukraine if they are threatened by russia in the future and the ukraine as one pathway of american security guarantee. cook sounds like it's close on the rare earth minerals how significant would that be? >> rare earth minerals the processing of it is very costly something we do not like to do in the united states. so getting greater access diversified away from mainland china that helps us in a strategic sense. so it is helpful for us it's not the only solution out that the united states there are other options it makes our negotiating position in this deal stronger

scrutiny you might see more changes coming. >> delicate cease-fire in the middle east. they are supposed to start phase two in the coming days how do you see that? >> when dealing with a group like hamas and all of the chairs they have committed against humanity, the end it state is very important to restate again. hamas cannot be allowed to have any kind of influence or governing role in gaza. so, how do we get to that? that can't be changed but how we get to there through the hostage release is important to get people back home. but that goal has got to be the same brother was in a few years hamas will be back or one of its surrogates will begin the exact same thing killing babies and raping women. >> are seen the iranian regime saber rattling threatening israel no surprise there i suppose. but some of that for domestic consumption because they're so unpopular with their own people? >> yes that is a good estimation or calculation of the iranian

that is a good sign because one out of three pneumonias can cause that it's what they really, really look out for. he is at gemelli hospital which is number one in italy, number one in rome, 1500 bed hospital serves a university, is the top care which she is getting you would not find that surprising he is on oxygen that's probably a precaution for the probably reversed his respiratory yesterday that wheezing with bronchodilators to open his lungs. i'm watching to see how long he needs oxygen and how well he is responding to antibiotics. which is probably the key to his recovery. mike: when we spoke yesterday it sound like a dire situation. does that s it sound like the ds got a handle on what's causing the pope so much trouble? >> i love hearing that he had a restful night. that may sound like a layman's term if you are in sick and in an icu setting or in critical care the idea you had a peaceful sleep filled nights is very

positive. of the event was yesterday he's in a better place today and he was yesterday but he would not be sitting up in a chair if he was not in a better place. i do not know what concentration of oxygen they are using. clearly what they are using is working. support the challenges of an 88-year-old pope. let's play that and i will get you to react. >> look, we've got to be realistic. you get double pneumonia in anybody, you are worried. if a child gets double pneumonia. you have double pneumonia and 88-year-old man who only a 75% of his lung capacity and is struggling with arthritis and a bunch of stuff, it's not looking good. i admire his grip, i admire his resilience i am praying with him and for him. but we have to be realistic because he certainly is. >> what about that, doc? >> i love carlo i've interviewed him for my miracles book. he's smart medically he's right about a bunch of things personally does not have a long
