i flat out love canada i have family in canada i completely adore that country and i had a conversation with doug ford premier of ontario i know they take it seriously but everybody lighten up. but i think i'll say this -- people in hollywood, florida, are probably not disappointed all of the quebecers are not coming down they want to have a little peace and quiet but we love canada if they want to travel come on down spend money and have a good time. >> we had a chance to speak with the fentanyl czar and spoke to the ministry of public safety and they were trying to get the message out there they do want to adhere to some of the demands around the fentanyl cross border cooperation to address things like gangs, they want to send that message that they want to work with us because that tariff deadline is looming in early march so there's serious back story to some of the more light hearted ribbing. >> listen, i think that that's what president trump does. he has his way of bringing people to the table.

and making sure that we're going keep our borders safe that's really the goal here so let's get to it. >> tom. >> i think two issues -- you've got the issue of people coming across our border and drugs coming across the border and then you have trade issues. donald trump wants to play his strengths and trade, and we're going to see how it works there's a lot of people on the right republican who is don't like this idea of the tariffs. but trump just keeps saying his same old phrase he says let's see what happens and see if it works. >> reciprocal tariffs really will be the key here because if you're tariffing u.s. on, you know, charging 300% fee on some dairy maybe we'll do the same and i think that ultimately strategy is, bring everybody to the table. let's lower all tariffs. and have real free trade. >> when it comes to canada we do trade with them a lot. proximity particularly when it comes to steel and aluminum that's a big concern up there their media has been wall to wall up there about the trump tariffs and potential impact on

men from women sports last night san francisco waldorf basketball team took with a transgender athlete and cornerstone christian pulled out the win defeating as waldorf transathlete missed the game and same athlete played on a volleyball team last year which led to opposing team dropping out of a semifinal matchup and not just california, in maine a transgender boy took home first place in a girl's poll vaulting championship prompting facebook post from maine representative laura libby posted a picture of the boy and wrote two years ago tied for fifth place and boys pole vault one in the girls, libby slammed for defying the mandate -- >> i can't imagine that anything is going to change either the mpa minds or democrat legislators on this policy except for president trump's

administration taking action. and defunding maine schools until they comply. >> president took action launching an investigation into the maine department of education, and school district as state continues to allow boys to play in girls sports. wow. okay. kevin, that's a lot of information right there. but essentially this is something that has been coming to a head for a long time president is now elected he's going to use federal law you saw that confrontation the other day in the white house. >> listen. my sister and i have shared this story with some my sister was an outstanding jr. olympian, and she's competed against girls throughout her career. and it would be not just unfair in the conversations i've had with her, it would be frankly for some completely ruinous because you're talking about scholarships, you're talking about an opportunity to not just impress a coach but also years and years and years of dedication hard work not just the athletings but coaches put in parents, driving to practice

and you rob them of that -- by somebody who decides for whatever reason that they want to compete i think there should be a carve out to compete with like individuals. or have something specific that makes sense to me. but being able to steal that's how it is you're stealing -- the opportunity and the gifts of young girls and women i think it is unconscionable and glad that the white house is doing something about it. >> that confrontation in the white house molly politician from maine said i'll see you in court and yelled it out and president trump went back at her and he said -- yeah that should be an easy one do you think it is going to be an easy one? >> i think for him in an -- some sense he's already won politically. he had big moment signing surrounded by girls 80/20 issue majority of people feel this way on this that includes more than half of democrats. believe that -- that men and women shouldn't be and that there's a difference. and i think he had that big confrontation because he knows

it is a winning issue for him. across the spectrum he made them happen because he's good at that he knows how to make that happen and she also -- laid it out as well she's going back to the state as the dmblght governor said i'll see you in court what else was she going to do? so stood her ground in that moment too and so we will see what happens in courtrooms across the country that seems to be -- where we're going to be spending the next four years. but on this issue, it will be interesting to see what it actually means for the state funding to the places and how that could affect these small schools all across maine. >> we talked about title ix for years arthel girl sports it was kind of like girl boss moment they ban together and we've got to get women sports up to parody with men it was always the issue they thoughts they were ignoring girl sports. now when girl sports seem to have come into their own -- now you have this issue to deal with. >> i don't think it is fair for a transboy to compete against a girl. they have an unfair advantage. and it is not right.
