in some of these town halls, is real. i'm sure there are some people in there that voted for trump that said i worked into work and i lost my job. but that's going to be one of the casualties of having to take a $2.7 million federal workforce and knock it down to maybe half of that. so, i think we have got a heads up on it. i think the president do himself a favor and freshry secretary especially just saying hey, we have a $7 trillion budget. we only make 5.9 trillion, the revenue gap is 2 trillion. this is part of closing that gap. lessens the responsibility. it's not punitive. >> lawrence: there is one portion when it comes to getting rid of the waste, fraud and because and getting our government more efficient. also creates a dliment is friendly to business and apple is making a big announcement today. they are going to invest $500 billion into the u.s. economy over the next four years, start the construction of a new ai server manufacturing

half a million children that were encountered during the biden administration. and, if you guys remember. part of the reason why there was a separation back in trump's first four years, is because they didn't know who was the parents and who wasn't. who was a part of the cartel that was trafficking these kids but, during the biden administration, they just lost these children. >> ainsley: i know. the trump administration has told ice, directing them to go and find these kids. these are kids who actually crossed the border. some of them very young. without a parent, which is just hard for a parent here in america to understand. the minors would be served a notice to appear in immigration court or deported. if deportation orders are already pending against them going to sorted into three groups, flight risk and public safety and border agents. going to prioritize flight risk. they say that the biden administration has lost 300,000 migrant children. they are worried about them being trafficked. they are worried about them being exploited. >> lawrence: pretty soon congress is going to have to get involved with this.

deal that was going to go to the parliament then zelenskyy said something different to the public. have you reached some sort of deal right now? >> yeah, listen, the negotiations are literally happening as we speak would have been all hands on deck, secretary bessent our treasury secretary has been leading the charge. and frustrations are high, frankly. the united states has stepped forward for ukraine in historic and tremendous way. we are heading, you know, today into the three year anniversary of this war. and we expect the ukrainians to realize the opportunity that this is and president zelenskyy to realize the opportunity that this is. to be co-invested with the united states of america in the future of ukraine and the future of this economy.

troops essentially obligated immediately in terms of article five or coming to u.s. u.s. troops coming directly in for the defense of ukraine. that is very different. i want to be clear on that. we have president macron coming. we have prime minister starmer of the united kingdom coming. that's very different than the u.s. commitment to nato and existing nato countries. we are absolutely committed to nato at large. our article 5 treat agreement with other nato countries. the security guarantees for ukraine is a different conversation. one of the things that we fully support is both france and the united kingdom and other europeans saying they would be willing to enter into very strong security guarantees for the future of ukraine. that's a different conversation. that's one that we are

encouraged by. because, lawrence, we have been asking for years for europe to step up for its own defense. >> lawrence: i know. >> and we have been asking for years for europe to pay for its own defense as the u.s. taxpayer has been taking an unfair burden for decades now. >> lawrence: congressman, i want to go into specifics of the minerals. before i do that i want to talk about this meeting with putin. i guess my question is is there a meeting on the calendar. i know you have previously said that the meeting will happen once there is something to actually discuss. you guys have talked about a deal. so, is there something on the calendar for the president to meet with putin in person? >> not at this moment. we are having a series of negotiations and engagement at my level and below. we are having a back and forth on kind of what things would look like going forward.

not only to get us to a cease-fire in ukraine, but what a broader u.s.-russia relationship would look like going forward. an important first step is secretary rubio and his counterpart lavrov in hitting our embassies back functioning again. it's very difficult, lawrence, to move the relationship forward if we don't have functioning embassies. >> lawrence: this is the president talking about the mineral deal. let's talk about a little bit of it. >> we are going to get our money back. it's not fair. it's just not fair. and we will see. i think we are pretty close to a deal and we better be close to a deal. because that has been a horrible situation. >> lawrence: tell me, specifically, congressman, what does a mineral deal look like. does that mean that america by extension. if we get these minerals we will guard our minerals as well? are we talking about a large portion of minerals? part of ukraine?

what does that look like? >> well, look, i mean, for example, there is enough aluminum, if -- if their refineries were fully capable, if we had that outside investment for u.s. imports for an entire year. there's enough triduum. there is titanium. one of the largest titanium reserves in all of europe that will take investment to get it to full capacity. our position has been, look, 50% of something that is much larger growing the pie is better than the 100 percent of where they are today. so let's grow together in an economic partnership and, of course the u.s. would protect our assets for which we were invested in. this could mean trillions not only for the ukrainian people but for us and the stability for the reasoning that economic investment is one of the

security guarantees that ukraine could hope for. >> lawrence: congressman, before i let you go i have got to talk about the israel hamas deal. looks like they are asking for extension here. last week something tragic happened they sent three bodies back two. of them were the children but the mother was not there. they have since brought the mom back home. it doesn't look like hamas is being an honest broker here. and i know the president has said, previously, all hell is going to break loose in the middle east is hamas listening to the president? >> oh, hamas has listened to the president. remind you and everyone lawrence, we wouldn't be in this position, 29 hostages are alive today and reunited with their families because the whole world listened when president trump said there will be all hell to pay after the biden administration couldn't get this done for 15 months. so, absolutely they are. they are afraid of president
