he is calling on them to go outside the capitol today at noon and protest this. we asked some democrats here why -- what they would say to americans wondering why they would stay in the way of tax breaks? >> listen, what i tell people first of all is to remember that average americans got bread crumbs. a couple weeks groceries in tax cuts. the most wealthy got the lion's share of that tax scam. so they get yachts and we get bread crumbs. don't settle for that. >> how republicans will try to cut 2 trillion and some people are afraid it might hit medicaid. we'll see what will happen later this evening. >> dana: we'll pay a lot of attention and watch for you. thank you so much. that was fun. >> bill: we'll get the true for the blue origin. >> dana: you want to do it tomorrow? >> bill: i want to do it again tomorrow. >> dana: harris faulkner is up next. here she is. >> harris: we begin with a fox news alert and watching to see
8:01 am
what next steps are after federal government workers missed their deadline with doge. i'm harris faulkner and you are in "the faulkner focus." over the weekend, senior advisor to president trump elon musk directed federal employees to answer a very simple email. they needed to list five things that they accomplished at work last week by midnight monday night. elon musk said by not replying, that would be taken as a resignation. however, the office of personnel management informed h.r. leaders they are not mandating employees to be fired if they do not reply to musk's email. president trump is backing musk. >> president trump: we have people that don't show up to work and nobody even knows this they work for the government. by asking the question tell us what you did this week. he is saying are you actually working? and then if you don't answer, like you are sort of semi fired
8:02 am
or you are fired because a lot of people are not answering because they don't even exist. they are trying -- that's how badly various parts of our government were run especially by this last group. >> harris: elon musk posted to social media those who have not responded may be given another chance. here is a quote. subject to the discretion of the president. failure to respond a second time will result in termination. republican senator john curtiss of utah. >> maybe we need some dramatic changes in things that we have not done before. it is a shock to the system but the system, i think, needs a shock. >> harris: the department of government efficiency or doge now estimates it has achieved $65 billion in federal government savings. alina habba, counselor to president trump, will be in "focus" to weigh in moments from now. let's begin with senior white house correspondent peter doocy.
8:03 am
peter. >> this $65 billion saved figure is new on the doge database that gets updated twice a week. trump allies are arguing that's what people voted for. >> the american people are due this type of service by the federal government. so the fact that we have people who are out there trying to defend the indefensible right now pushing back against elon musk and doge, it really is remarkable that you have the democratic party saying this is the hill that we're going to go die on. >> musk stands by his original email. doge doesn't want any classified attachments but a list of five things from everybody that they did last week. sean duffy got the email. he doesn't want to be terminated. he sent his five things starting with term naivety -- term naivetyed congestion pricing and looking forward to another week of fighting for americans at the
8:04 am
usdot. now democratic lawmakers are promising to try to stop doge with new laws. we're putting bills on the floor saying to elon musk get out of our tax data and healthcare data. you do not legally belong in those systems threatening the privacy and security of our constituents. >> and the reason democratic lawmakers are hyping up new laws is because existing lawsuits has been a mixed bag so far for them. example. a group of unions representing federal workers was able to stop doge from accessing some confidential information at the education department and opm but doesn't mean that doge is moving away from those departments. it is slowing them down. >> harris: peter doocy, thank you very much. the outrage from democrats over cutting waste and demanding accountability is actually a head scratcher and it is not going away.
8:05 am
>> the president has put elon musk into a position of authority to do damage to our government. >> this is not about efficiency. it is about loyalty. this is about having trump and musk put in the people that are going to be beholding to them so they can push forward on their corrupt agenda. >> elon musk has been lying through his teeth to the american people time and time again. >> it is completely inhumane what he is doing, by way. no compassion, no thought about people delivering hard to deliver services and it is crazy this is his approach. >> harris: let's take a closer look. this is the email sent by senior advisor to the president elon musk asking federal workers for five bullet points of things they actually accomplished last week. this is not hard. so one of our team counted every single word and letter. it is 35 words. not one of those words has more than three syllables. yet somehow it has created a
8:06 am
tsunami of confusion and controversy. all lena habba is here. no stopping this, but what do you make of people not responding yet? what are you considering to be some of the reasons and next steps? >> outside of you not responding because it is top secret i'm not sure of the reason. i have never had a job where i didn't have to answer from somebody whether than when i own my firm but i answered to my clients. it is absurd to say that this is an outrage. it is absurd. it is a result of a generation of pure lazyness, of excuses and unaccountability. we're done with that now. president trump is one of the hardest working individuals i have ever met in my life. he is if hardest working person i've ever met in my life and expects the same from the american people and people selected, appointed by him or paid by taxpayer dollars. it is his responsibility for us to be responsible to them and answer to them and that's what we have to do.
8:07 am
>> harris: look, the ball is moving just a little bit to give people maybe a second chance to take a look at whether or not the reasons or excuses for not responding or not working. maybe why they can't give five things they were doing. trying to make those. personal reasons trying to keep that messaging confidential. what's going on that you can tell us behind the scenes to have doge actually responsive to what they are finding out? >> there is a lot of people here, right? you have to remember there are so many departments. other departments are saying don't answer if there is this information. which is a completely valid thing but you have to answer and say what you've done. the problem is one thing. we have people that can't answer. it's very simple. how can you not answer? you and i work hard. if we go to work within the first five minutes we could give five things we've done at work. i would hope so. so my response is very simple. the president is not unkind. he is not being unfair. he wants a response.
8:08 am
now if you need an extra day to do it god bless but you are going to do it. he was clear that if you don't there will be repercussions. that hasn't changed. >> harris: new opinion piece title doge's thunder runs through the bureaucracy. here is part of it. the shocking reports of waste and fraud are well documented and scrambling to stop the audit. they are in a state of panic and making them sloppy lashing out using lawfare and fear mongering to step the bleeding. your reaction. >> what else is new? fear mongering, never heard of that before. lawfare, never heard of that before. unfortunately for them this is something we've been well versed in for four years thanks to what they did to president trump. here is the reality. we are going to continue. we are strong, we keep winning in cases where they get temporary restraining orders. i want to point that out.
8:09 am
the only temporary. they investigate and say they have a reason and ability to go in and look at what is going on. doge is a directive from the president. something we campaigned on and are committed to. we're going to continue. it will not stop. keep trying to challenge us. the truth is a funny fact i heard from someone that the first week we were in office, the first week this administration started slashing these ngo funding to democrat bureaucrats, the reason -- the thing they googled the most in d.c. bleach fitting and criminal attorneys. i kid you not. that says it all. they are trying to scrap information and run and hide. unfortunately we follow the money and money never lies. >> harris: the lawfare, the legal googling, all of it. it is something that you are so right about. we've seen it used against the current president between president sis and even during them. elon musk has posted some
8:10 am
numbers from a recent poll that shows doge is overwhelmingly popular and americans think government spending should be reduced by at least $1 trillion. the poll shows seven to ten people say they believe government spending is filled with fraud and waste. 72% say they believe there should be a government agency focused on efficiency initiatives. jamie dimon oversees over 300,000 employees. >> the government and everybody know the government is inefficient. not very competent and needs a lot of work. so you and i -- not just waste and fraud but outcomes. how we get what we deserve. what should we change? i think doing that needs to be done. bureaucracy is pushing back on everything. not just about the deficit. building the right policies, procedures and the government we deserve. >> harris: i watched that whole interview this morning.
8:11 am
i am curious about communicating in governors. ways in louisiana with governor landri yesterday and so all on board. he had to do it for his state when he was a.g. what types of things are you learning from some of the governors. they can get on board and really help. >> i had dinner with jamie dimon friday night. he is extremely intelligent. he is all on board and talk about the difference in this administration and the last. the governor of a state is running the state and have optics we won't have from here but only reported into and read into. they are all on board. we have seen such laziness and this is what i spoke to jetstream eave about on friday. in the last administration he couldn't get meetings. he couldn't even speak to anybody let alone the president of the united states who was m.i.a. for four years. i would have loved to have asked president biden where are his five points? i'm sure he couldn't have filled them out. we are running this country like jamie runs the business and like

president trump runs the trump organization, like musk running x. that's what we're doing. and if you want your budget balanced. if you want to not have a deficit, what better to do so than a businessman that understand how to make money, how to spend money and how to get out of debt? that's what we are going to do. >> harris: you have millions of clients out there. the american people. you saw the number of support for what the president is doing now. it's huge. great to have you in "focus" today. thank you. >> thank you, harris. >> harris: massive operation targeting criminal illegal immigrants. all criminals if they are here illegally. they go after the worst first. federal and state law enforcement have now joined forces to arrest a lot of people in one single community in texas. border czar tom homan was on hand for the raid. plus anti-ice activists are doxxing law enforcement agents. do you know how dangerous it is

airport. just why? senator cruz issued a subpoena for related documents. republicans have been requesting it since last year. senator wrote using a public airport to house illegal aliens was offensive to airline passengers and american taxpayers alike. sanctuary state of massachusetts continues to wrack up arrests of illegal immigrants for sex crimes, many against children. you just heard tom homan talking about victims in all this. state and city leaders are still fighting ice removal. president trump's immigration crackdown is shattering records at this point. so you know this is going to continue because it is working. new numbers show just 200 people were apprehended trying to break into our country at the southern border on saturday. that's the lowest single day number in more than 15 years. homeland security secretary kristi noem credits the president. >> to have that kind of a drop under president trump is because of a change of policy.
8:21 am
it is because of telling the world to stay away. if you want to come to this country illegally you will be stopped. america comes first. ist is because of president trump. the fact that he is so firm and so confident and he wants to uphold the law and he follows through with consequences if people don't. >> harris: in "focus" now jason chaffetz fox news contributor former congressman and chairman of the oversight committee always important when we talk about money. talk to me now about reacting to how president trump is doing this. >> well look, i think it's energized the law enforcement community. these are people that need to be detained and deported. i think that's been an important part of it. i think ted cruz is on to something. there are a lot of these sanctuary cities, towns, states and places like airports, for goodness sake. we go out and hire thousands of people to work at the tsa. at the same time massachusetts is saying if you are here

anti-ice activists in los angeles are doxxing immigration agents posting their names, photos and phone numbers. they are also interfering with operations on the ground. here is a poster claiming immigration agents quote, unquote, radically terrorize and criminalize communities and kidnap people from homes and streets separating families and fracturing communities. we'll get to that with a moment. dhs spokesperson said these activists are putting targets on the backs of law enforcement as they shield ms-13, tren de aragua and other vicious gangs that traffic women and children, kidnap for ran some and poison americans with illegal drugs. these individuals will be held accountable for obstructing law and justice. that lays out what is really happening. previously there is a redefine who these people are in our communities. are you okay with that? it makes it look like we're the bad guys for wanting to get the

as you said, they are motivated to do this and know somebody has their back. the president wants them to work together. that means cops and communities. they will know where people live and know where agents live. this is extremely dangerous. >> yeah. i tell you what, gavin newsom, be on top of this. the state, the county and city. when you offer a sanctuary status, this is the type of thing -- they should be working hand in glove with federal law enforcement officers. they are taking a position that they are not going to enforce the law. that is so fundamentally wrong in this country. voters will have to vote these people out. but federal law enforcement trumps what they are doing at the local level. they have got to prosecute these people to the fullest extent of the law and stop giving them federal money. don't give them any federal money if they won't cooperate. if you take federal money you play by the federal rules.

>> harris: president trump is ready to reverse biden-era policies in american schools. his administration put the leader of testing at the education department on leave. that's after the nation's yearly report card showed math and reading scores for some grades at a two decade low. but as the president works to also cut the woke out of government, some blue states can't let it go. maryland's house of representatives passed a bill allowing contraceptives in

school vending machines from nursery school to high school. the democrat majority also advanced a measure that keeps parents from opting their children out of gender identity and sexual orientation classes that begin as early as pre-k. here is bill maher with a warning to the dems. >> you put an idea in people's heads that wouldn't have been there otherwise. do i think in most of america they did that in schools? i don't. but i think in enough of them, in enough far left places, they did constantly have this idea in the minds of children that maybe you aren't in the right body. >> harris: alexandria hoff reporting in annapolis, maryland. alex. >> hi, good to be with you. maryland democrats are defending house bill 380 saying that it is simply removing the current

criminal penalties from providing condoms and other contraceptives for sale inside of school vending machines. republicans pushed back on that saying we need an amendment then that would exclude middle schools and elementary schools. that failed on party lines. >> it would not just be high schools and middle schools, which often already provide those things for free in the nurse's office but also elementary schools, pre-schools and daycare settings. >> maryland's democratic majority baffling some parents with the other part of the story, the bill that requires public schools to teach students starting as young as kindergarten and before that about gender identity and sexual orientation. the bill removes the option for parents to opt out of this so it becomes a requirement. republican state delegate here. >> look, we had an election in november. for some reason the politicians in annapolis did not get the

this meghan that you could do all things. rock and chew gum. do culture and woke stuff and, you know, and you can govern and so forth. why in the world would anybody need to make condoms available in nursery school vending machines? why is that in democratic politics? >> i think this is where one of those issues where common sense lost out. makes sense to take away the criminal charges but i don't think it should be in middle schools and grade schools. they need to get back to the bread and butter issues like bernie sanders' person. we need to get back to the economy and middle class. things that matter to the american people and leave some of the culture issues by the wayside. >> harris: a democrat on our program said common sense. that's what people will hear. critics are all over wisconsin governor evers for backing a

do you think they would list that on the five things they did? i don't think so. president trump's approval rating is on the rise. 52% of voters approve of his second term so far a month in. what's more he is doing better with some key voting blocks that he has struggled with in the past. independents, women, hispanics, asian, suburbans. 2/3 disapprove of the democrat party. >> i think that we've talked a few times on this program about the democratic party struggling to find its footing. hopefully they are getting more into it. the mid-terms will come around the corner. trump is enjoying a honeymoon period. cutting usaid and other impacting things in the united states will impact some red district and i this i the tid terms will be telling. they have fallen in the last month. i assume they will fall more and

matter about the mid-terms will be the final factor to decide that. >> harris: rebuttal. >> i don't think he will lose support. the truth is the average american doesn't appreciate being told they have to live by a different set of standards than the ruling class. i think the working americans that i grew up with back in the midwest. they would never expect or demand permanent job security, a six figure salary and life long benefits. why in the world should federal government employees be able to expect or demand that? democrats are coming down on the side of the federal government employees. trump is coming down on the side of the average american and i guarantee you that trump will win this one. >> harris: i can tell you this, great conversation and we'll cover it stem to stern. great to have you both. thank you for watching "the faulkner focus."
