be selecting pool reporters go ing forward. what does that look like going forward? >> karoline: for the audience who may not understand what has happened for decades. you have journalists in washington, d.c. who dictate when reporters go into the intimate spaces of oval office, who rides on air force one and that system has not changed since early 1900s. media looks different now this is a long overdue change. a lot of press secretaries and white houses have talked about making this change, we are shaking up washington in more ways that know one. we will expand the pool's access to the president to nontraditional journalists, legacy media will still have a seat like they do in briefing room, we will bring new voices into the fold.

president zelenskyy clashed last week no doubt about it. how much friktion is between them? >> there is stuff in the media about it. the president wants the war to stop, you have to have both sides agree. i think what the president was irritated by was the thinking that we had not talked to zelenskyy. i was there for both calls, he called zelenskyy right away and he met with treasury secretary and with me and kellogg. he has had engagement. i talked to foreign minister of ukraine twice in last six days. to say we are not engaged is not accurate. >> brian: why do russians want this to end? >> i don't know, we will test it. if they want to end the war, we'll talk about what it will

take to end it from their perspective. they agreed to follow-up, we will send teams to meet with theirs and talk about what it would take to end the war. if what we talk about is unre unrealistic, we will know they are not interested in it. >> brian: german had a big election, president trump congratulated presumed leader. frederick merts, and he said this, i never thought i would say this on of t, after donald trump remark last week, it is clear government does not care about fate of europe. my priority is to strengthen europe so step by step we can achieve independence from the u.s. nato is in jeopardy and time for european nations to establish independent european defense capability. >> nato is not in jeopardy, only thing that puts nato in jeopardy

there is a message, our border matters, let's establish some relationship and get control of our southern border and you have to control yours. what did you walk away with? what was your message? >> all those countries are migratory routes, that is route people take to get to southern border. our route begins there. we want countries to cooperate in stopping it. a number of countries, including honduras, agreed to take back their own nationals and take third country who basically enter the united states illegally, we can send to those countries and they can go back to their home country or these countries. these are powerful tools and that is why you are seeing low numbers under president trump. it has a lot to do with president trump and people that were coming here realize this is not joe biden. under president trump you will

documents battles after combat. >> one of the hardest parts of being a warrior is coming home. >> we are here, we are family, and we don't have to fight this fight alone. >> steve: executive producer of the film joins us now. gary, good morning to you. >> good morning, thanks for having me. >> steve: you are in one of those famous movies that featured war in history. this documentary is real. it is great to go back and find these guys 20 years later. >> yes, steve. years ago we made a movie, jake is a buddy of mine and had two brothers serving in iraq. we made a movie called brothers at war. we were talking a while ago, four years ago now, about what happened to all the people that were in the first movie? we see a lot of people in the first movie serving in iraq, out

in the desert. jake embeds with these folks. we started to discuss what happened to them? where are they? we decided to make a second movie that tracks them as veterans now, many of them are out of the service. this movie really shows what life is like to transition out of the military and into the civilian sector. >> ainsley: what did you find by making this movie? what is the most difficult part about that transition from battlefield to going back home to be with your family? >> it is very difficult. the veterans in the film are very open with sharing stories and that's what's beautiful about it and why we want to share it with others hoping many veterans see it. you know, you have people that are dealing with potential suicidal thoughts, all these different, difficult things in transitioning and they share it with us. we had a premier last night, post show discussion and there

were a lot of veterans there and they really opened up after seeing the film. that's what we hope will happen with a lot of those folks. we don't want them containing all the stuff they may be dealing with post-service and want them to share their stories. we'll do workshops with the film. lots to come with brothers after war. >> brian: do you think people will watch this and want to join the military or not join the military? >> i think it's a very positive look at military service. it is hard to transition out of the service for sure. it is hard to go to war and come home from war. but we have a grateful nation out there where there are a lot of people that support these folks. we do that at my foundation. we want to make sure we provide enough services for folks that are serving in the military and transitioning out of the military. military family life is difficult. we want to provide services for them. so anybody who is interested in
