2:04 am
hosted british prime minister keir starmer yesterday and today he has zelenskyy of ukraine. so this notion that ukraine is somehow being sidelined or ignored is ridiculous. they will sign a historic deal that gives united states a vested interest in ukraine, return on taxpayer investment through harvesting of natural resources in ukraine. they have disproportionate percentage of rare earth minerals we need for high-technology production. this is great thing for the united states. also importantly, good thing for ukraine. this is a great day, i think. >> todd: another example of frump's negotiating style that gets attacked by the left all the time and ultimately leads to results. that said, how do you expect russia to respond? >> well, this is not a great day for vladamir putin because this

is something that puts the united states squarely in ukraine. he'll have to think twice before he attacks any kind of installation that has u.s. interests there. that is a material way, todd, that the united states can deter russia. that is the thing. everyone is talking about security guarantees, that is something written on a piece of paper, it may or may not be enforced. this is the united states on the ground in ukraine. so i think bad day for putin, good day for united states. as you said, this is a manifestation of how donald trump does business around the world. >> carley: adding context to this, when it comes to war itself. according to institute for study of war, russia occupied 20% of ukraine territory but become so bogged down, at current rate it would take russia 83 years to capture 80% of ukraine.
2:06 am
they are at a complete standstill and yesterday donald trumps russia will have to make concession and nato member for ukraine is off the take. when it comes to peace negotiation, what will it look like? >> that is really important point. starting with the nato issue, there are number of issues that ukraine was not in nato before the invasion by russia three years ago. and those are rule of law issues, those are corruption issues, very high criteria to become a member of nato. in my opinion, that never should have been on the table. vladamir putin does not get a veto over who does or does not get into nato, that is for membership to do. it was never really a real issue. i think president trump is telling the truth there. you are also correct, this war has been extremely costly and difficult for russia and so that is where president trump is

saying putin does want to come to the table and make it a level playing field so russia feels comfortable in negotiations and will come to a durable deal so we're not back in five years time having same conversation about putin going into ukraine. this has been going on for a decade now. so hopefully we can get to that kind of sustainable deal that will be good for ukraine, good for europe and also satisfy russia. >> todd: also this, mexico extraditing 29 drug bosses to the united states including one wanted for the killing of a dea agent. did this happen because of trump's tariff pressures? >> absolutely. and as you said, rafael quinetworktero, in 1985 he killed a dea agent. this guy has been onnure on list for a long time. good day for justice in the

2:27 am
in communities with low community vaccination rates like we see in texas with this me meninite community that tends not to get vaccinated much. all it takes is one person who has traveled or coming from the outside infected to come in and that causes an outbreak. outbreaks almost never spread out of communities because once they attempt to spread, vaccination rates among kids are so high you have herd immunity and likelihood to spread is exceptionally low and we don't really see them occurring. >> carley: it started in texas, new mexico, kentucky, rhode island, california, georgia, alaska and washington. it has grown. are these cases linked from state to state? >> yeah, so this is important to note. there is no evidence necessarily

2:29 am
it? >> it has been recommended for a reason. some people have concerns about it. many don't get it. from a medical perspective, it is shown to reduce rate of infection dramatically for measles and known to reduce risk of hospitalization once someone is infected. out of 124 people in texas infected, only five have been vaccinated, that in and of itself says a lot. it is different situation than the covid vaccine, entirely different type of vaccine, treats something different and someone like a children's population may not have a need whatsoever, completely different situation. with measles, in particular, something time and time again has proven to show efficacy, there are obviously people out there who have concerns regarding safety for a variety of reasons.
