hour. competing with countries like mexico with a similar climate to us, very difficult for us to be competitive. >> sandra: he did say i don't like trade war's. he does say that there will be some benefit to america's farmers because of all this, steve. >> these numbers that have come in so far are really the biden numbers. trump has been in office for less than 40 days. i agree with larry kudlow that this is a bit of the biden hangover appear they flush the zone with massive amounts of government spending in the last couple months, and that has caused prices to go up, but i also agree a little bit, you know, with you that i think the tariffs -- robert is right. these are not a good thing for the economy right now.

>> sandra: all right, the alleged killer of a texas sheriff's deputy, but even though he is been charged with capital murder, posted a million dollar bond. live-in dallas. things got heated in the courtroom today? >> they did. the judge first reiterated the bond conditions and said that he could not leave his home, but then his attorney when outside the courtroom, spoke to reporters. he called it "disgusting" for anyone to question a judge. mind you the judge set bond for a capital murder suspect, accused of killing a deputy. the suspect here, he made his first court appearance since posting that $1 million bond appeared francis is 1 of 2 suspects charge in the capital murder death of the

harris county sheriff's death last summer. the judge has faced scrutiny before for letting repeat offenders out on bond. texas law allows judges to deny bond and capital murder cases. some judges say that the district attorney first needs to request what is known as a proof evident hearing. they have said before that these hearings can jeopardize their cases by forcing them to reveal their evidence early on. in this case, records show a hearing was requested back in 2024. it never happened appeared francis' attorney spoke to reporters outside the courthouse today, saying his client has the right to bond. >> all of these police officers, honestly, it is disgusting. what happened to the presumption of innocence? you think that everybody that comes down here is found guilty? >> judge unger is up for

across arlington county vir virginia. the areas transgender policies may have paved the way for him to do it. let's bring in the virginia attorney general. thanks for being with us. we really appreciate it. a lot of people at home watching this may wonder how we got to the point where a registered child sex offender can gain access to a girls locker room at a high school aquatic facility simply by claiming to be transgender. >> well, as often happens in these types of cases, you hear the stories and think how in the world did this happen? this happened because you have certain local attorneys in fairfax -- views himself as more of a social worker than prosecutor. back in june of last year, months before these incidences, this individual as noted was a highest level of sex offender

with criminal conviction dating back to the 1990s. this individual went to a planet fitness and exposed himself. those charges were later dropped, but the reality is he has not allowed within 100 feet of a day care center or school. guess what? right next to that planet fitness was a day care center. they could have prosecuted him on a felony in june. allowed to be back on the street. exposed himself to a 9-year-old, 5-year-old, multiple individuals. now he is facing charges in arlington. this is what happens when they fall through the cracks and local government in fairfax allow a policy that allows individuals like him, biological male, to walk in and use a women's restroom. >> john: quite a history with this fella. arlington public schools, it did not just happen once but multiple occasions. the washington liberty high school in wakefield

high school. parents had alerted the school board about earlier incidents but appeared to fall on deaf ears. here is what one of the local affiliates report. the mother said she spoke to the school board member about the situation in september of 2024. her solution was to add signage encouraging people to be considerate of others to cover private parts and locker rooms and to observe locker room etiquette. mr. attorney general, what about the basic idea of keeping sex offenders the heck out of girls locker rooms? >> this is a classic case of what i like to say sometimes people can be so open-minded, the brain falls out. the fact that we are debating this, no-brainer 20 years ago. this is a perpetrator who is quoted in "the washington post" as saying that he feels a compulsion to expose himself in public and later quoted in a video captured when he was

arrested, saying that in modern america, he is welcome in these bathrooms here it goes to show that these policies that people have set, it has now encouraged i would argue registered sex offenders to take advantage of these laws, expose themselves multiple times to young children. the reality was he should have never been in a position to expose himself within 100 feet of a day care center appeared should have been prosecuted june of last year, and he was not because the lack of will by some of these social justice prosecutors that have popped up around the country. >> john: he was encountered by police where he claimed that being checked against the sex offender registry was a violation of his civil rights. listen to what he said. >> them calling out my information on the sex offender registry and using it to stop me from exercising my civil rights as a transgender person is a criminal misuse of the

sex offender registry. >> john: let me get you to react to what he said and that the remedy for all of this is to make sure that anybody who comes into the facility is checked against a sex offender registry. does there need to be something just more basic than that? >> that is an example of a convicted felon who feels a sense of entitlement but he has been enabled by both local laws, local politicians who refuse to do their job. your first job if you are an elected official is keeping your citizens safe. because of these misguided policies, they have failed the general public, and this individual is taking advantage of these laws when they were passed, i am sure they patted themselves on the back and thought about how enlightened they were. the reality is they have made our young children vulnerable to sexual predators, just like this. what he said to those cops essentially saying hey, i'm taking advantage of the laws that have been made available to

american people appeared people. >> john: reminded me of the poll from february. 81% support what the president is doing on deportation. 76% on closing the border. 69%, males only in women's sports. the voters are on his side at this point. speaking of women and transgender and women's sports, democrats voted in lockstep against the bill last night. that tommy tuberville was floating. 45 democratic senators voted no on protecting women and girls in sports. never ever let them gaslighted you into thinking democrats care about women's rights. 79% of all voters say transgender athletes should not be allowed in women's sports. even 67% of democrats, so what are these democratic senators doing? who are they catering to?

's police in new mexico say it could be weeks before they release footage, autopsy and toxicology reports expect to take a while too. live in santa fe, new mexico,, there are reports that will likely reveal what happened. >> the medical investigator's officer says it could be six to eight weeks until the autopsy results become public. the toxicology results could be weeks if not months but the medical investigators office tells me they are trying to expedite the results. the sheriff, their office tells

us that control worked with one of the daughters to secure safety for the two dogs that survive. a third dog that was in a crate near betsy passed away according to the police ward. a new report says police misidentified the dog that died as a german shepherd when it was actually a 12-year-old australian kelpie mix. the sheriff's office tells us the dog passed away could have an animal autopsy done called a net group see if need be but that hasn't been requested. one neighbour who lives inside the exclusive gated neighbourhood tells us gene's wife betsy cherished the dogs frequently by her side even in the car. we stopped by an asian restaurant in santa fe that gene hackman helped design and co-owned and artwork done by him himself hangs on the wall including a painting of his wife betsy. his drink is on the menu. we talked to an assortment of people around and said they were from the members of the community but in recent years beginning around the pandemic
