probably, knowing trump and the applause he is going to get i said 100 minutes. i was off by 1. it was 99 minutes. it never lagged. and once again donald trump has cemented his legacy not only as the 47th president but as a president who understands the television medium better than anybody held that before. people were laughing. highs and lows, all about taking a victory lap so far. look ahead at a new golden age. >> lawrence: it was a missed opportunity yesterday. the president started the speech out saying certainly there is nothing i can do please the democrats. they won't unify, they won't do anything. he proceeds to story tell, tell these incredible stories. just things that aren't partisan at all. aren't political at all. just wins for the country, average day people and they did not stand up. you look at the polling that came after this. cbs did a poll with u gov, 76%

agreed with removing the congressman. 76% approved of the speech. and if you go down the list of all the issues when it comes to wasteful spending, immigration, ukraine, the russia war, over 70% of the country agree with what the president said during his speech. >> ainsley: it was a great speech. the president reminded the crowd that he has only been in office for 43 days and he says we are just getting started a loft people in the chamber, the republicans chanting u.s.a., u.s.a., u.s.a. when the democrats started to heckle, their voices actually overpowered the democratic voices. but he reminded everyone that the election was a mandate. he said we won all seven swing states. we won the popular vote by big numbers. he said 270 to 525, to map out that reads republican. and democrats were yelling and the republicans were saying u.s.a., u.s.a. >> steve: mandate. brian, you were there. >> brian: yeah. i was in the chamber. i will tell you the story was

really two countries. you could not have been more juvenile as a democrat. all you could see from up top is the democrats two rows basically mostly female writing down different things on erasable boards or deciding what circle sign to hold up. and then this other -- one congresswoman while he was walking in, was holding a sign that said this is not normal. and then a texas congressman grabbed it out of her hand. and then to see this guy al green who by the way sean duffy walked down the aisle, secretary of transportation. just talking to everyone. i don't know what he was talking -- i can't wait to ask him talking to green about, must have talked for 10 minutes. he stands up and yells. weird thing is the sergeant of arms goes to nancy pelosi first. why are you checking with nancy pelosi. he is standing up, screaming at the president of the united states. way to are you there? then he walks up, talks to him,

he doesn't stop talking for a second. doesn't sit and starts yelling again. it takes the speaker to get somebody else to come in and toss him out. and then they talk to nancy pelosi again. did she approve of this behavior? do you need her to sign off on this? was she asking is this your new hip? to me if you were going to sit there and text and hold up signs i would almost matter you do what aoc did stay home. >> ainsley: some were holding up paddles that said false. someone had a whiteboard kept erasing and writing new messages on there. >> lawrence: rashida tlaib. >> steve: ultimately the democrats, and there you can see the little round signs brian was just talking about. the democrats just looked small. because the message of trump was big. and it was for all americans. and a couple of times he talked a little bit about how we need to unite and get stuff done. but the democrats did sit on their hands. even when they had emotional and very special guests like these.

it had to be like that at least half of the chamber that you were in last night. >> brian: people went crazy. i looked over to the left this is going to be the moment where people have to clap. >> lawrence: you have to. >> brian: for a kid who is supposed to be dead at 5. sitting there at 13. overcoming cancer, how can you sit instead they sat and looked indifferent. to me a lack of organization. i don't think hakeem jeffries set everyone sit down and ignore kids with cancer, really? you are ignoring kids with cancer? you are ignoring the survivors of a murdered teen? you can't clap for the naming of a park? it was astounding, i think it was embarrassing but also sad a group of people not going to do anything for four years. you saw them walk away from girls in sports bill three days ago. they didn't show up half of them. 14 walked out.

morning and his story. and when he found out that he was going to die from the brain cancer, he made it his quest to try to get sworn in to different police departments all across the country. in fact, right there, he is wearing the uniform of the houston police department. now, of course, as he hugs sean curren, the director of 9 secret service he is -- look i never seen the guy smile. he one of the guys to tackled when the bullets flying. if you have a heart. >> ainsley: poor child. think about what he has been through. probably chemo, radiation, surgery. >> steve: half the chamber, democrats sat on their hands when that happened right there. do you have a heart? they sat on their hands when they recognized the family of laken riley. or, and brian. >> lawrence: jocelyn. >> when they announced the

would we be today? >> lucas: as you all mentioned some democrats were a no-show. aoc sat this one out instead chose to do posting and live streaming. many female democratic lawmakers wore pink claiming it's the color of protest. democrats also did not arrive empty-handed as you all mentioned since we did this segment already. many carried signs which said save medicaid or musk steals fact-check during donald trump's address to congress. the longest in modern presidential history. a long way from george washington's 833. trump locked in at around 9800 last night. the president also claimed wokeness is dead and as you mentioned democrats claimed for years new legislation was needed to fix the southern border. last night trump said the only thing that was needed was a new president, guys. >> brian: i would like to say this, lucas, as i walked in today, guys, lucas was holding that sign that said this is not normal. and it hurt my feelings. >> ainsley: we are back with a fox weather alert. strong winds and multiple tornadoes tearing across the south yesterday, damaging houses and businesses in multiple states, including texas and louisiana during mardi gras. high winds causing the roof of a dallas area warehouse to collapse, no injuries were reported. the severe weather also caused odessa storms in texas, turning your sky, lawrence, orange in that area. more than 100,000 people across the state are still without power. so let's check in with our senior meteorologist janice dean for our fox weather forecast. hey, j.d. >> just as predicted. we had over 100 severe storm warnings and 37 tornado warn storms. thankfully, no loss of life. we still have the threat today as that cold front pushes across the southeast, the panhandle of florida up towards the mid-atlantic. and then we have that area of low pressure over the great lakes, strong winds are going to be the biggest component here. we could see isolated tornadoes and some hail, heavy rainfall, but the winds are going to be in excess of 60 miles per hour for a lot of these big cities all up

responses. it's a really difficult thing after the president of the united states with both houses of congress has given a speech. i thought she gave a good response. it was intelligent. she joined on some of the main issues. she gave a real democratic response. she was intelligent in that response. not a lot of people saw it. it didn't have, obviously, the emotional power that the president had people in the audience. 12-year-old can cancer who recovered. the president gave an excellent speech. as responses go. she gave a very credible job. she raised some serious issues. it was intelligent. democrats have to do more of that and less of what they did in the hall. >> lawrence: they have lost the ability to tell a good story. and i was a democrat. it was the inspiration that drew me in. all the negativity has to go and they have to figure a way to inspire the country.
