will bring people together in a world with so much divide. >> you achieved so much and talked about blessings, there are some people who don't have blessings in more difficult situation. what would you say and how can you turn their lives around and pick themselves up if they have been knocked down. >> i think having a relationship with god, pursuing relationship with god everyday, i think it helps you put things in perspective and deal with difficulty of everyday life. we all deal with lots of difficulty in our lives, there will be suffering and loss, there will be failure and only way to deal with those things and still have gratitude and appreciation, people have it harder than you, is to have relationship with god and there is a purpose for everyone of us in finding out what purpose is, whether priesthood, being a teacher, going out of your way to reach out to somebody having difficulty there lives. there is a purpose for all of

us. for me, i feel like nobody is beyond redemption. if you are sincere and want to change your life, a lot of people say people don't change. people are capable of change and gr greatness. >> benjamin: you say everyone goes through struggle of some sort, do you think you can grow stronger through struggle and have you experienced that? >> absolutely, to see your attitude and positivity after what you have experienced it inspiring. my dad suffered, my mom suffered, i lost two sisters, dealt with a lot of loss in my life. that gives me hope and suffering is not for nothing. it doesn't matter where you come from or what you are facing, if there is something you want to accomplish in life, you can if you are willing to do the work and with god's help, it makes those things easier and helps you put things in perspective.

>> benjamin: and hallow, bringing millions of people to pray, to talk to god, is doing that. i wonder, do you think that hallow is a sign that people need another way of talking to god in this modern era, young people need something different than going to church, is that why you set up hallow? >> absolutely, i was looking for more ways to utilize what i have and do what god put me in this position for. i've made 50 or 60 movies, people say something. most of the time now, whether i'm in a casino, i live in vegas, people talk about hallow and how much it changed their lives reconnecting them after beings lapsed or finding a meeting and being introduced to god and faith. >> benjamin: you must think you have been given opportunity to focus on this and spread his

word. >> i would say i'm nothing other than a humble servant to god and i was put in this position for a specific reason, not to forget where i've come from and what other people are going through, it is to share with others. just very humble servant and sign of the cross on my forehead is sign of humility and reminder that we are dust and dust we shall return. through god, all things are possible. >> people relationship with religion comes and goes, personally i was raised strict catholic, you lose that, you get distracted, like you were talking about earlier. wonder if you had experience where you slip away and don't pay much attention to faith and come back and that is what is the journey. >> it is. life is a long journey. i encourage people to do it, same thing with faith, with their finance fitness and

focusing on family, encourage young people to help them avoid mistakes young people make and i make. with god in your life everyday, it allows you to be in a position where you can make the right choices. if you think from a positive perspective, there is better chance you are going to go about things in a positive way and affect people in a positive way around you. >> benjamin: when it comes to work you choose, and you have mooies, what role does your faith have in picking the parts you pick or movies make, that must be a priority? >> i always joked and i hope god is a movie fan, i have done movies that are deemed inappropriate, i want to do things that are more challenging, as man of god, it is my responsibility to continue to promote the message that i was, you know, basically chosen to continue to articulate.

>> benjamin: when i first tuned into hallow, it goes silent for 10 or 15 seconds and rarely do people think they need silence. >> silence is comforting, there is so much noise and distraction, you know, it is a big thing to sit in silence. it is important to start for me, first thing i do and without hesitation. i always beat the alarm and start praying, if i open my eyes before the knock on the door or work, i start praying, i'm h having a conversation with god. that is powerful if i'm there, the rest of the day will be easy. >> benjamin: what is first prayer of the day? >> i start expressing gratitude for another day and strength to do what he's chosen for me. >> benjamin: there is 40-day lent challenge. chris pratt is involved.

transparent about what i've experienced and what positive things it put in my life and just my personal life and who i am as a person, what i want to accomplish as a father and as a husband and as an example and servant to god. i've been very fortunate and we're all weak in the flesh, day on the path every single day. >> ainsley: it's incredible, what a wonderful story that benjamin hall and mark wahlberg are bringing this morning as we celebrate ash wednesday. what a platform hes had. benjamin, excellent job with the interview. he's so humble and god put him in this position to accomplish so much so he can talk boldly to the entire world about his relationship with christ. >> benjamin: he wants to spread the word, we are behind notre dame cathedral, it was burned to the ground and they built it
