today because this entry was not so lengthy. that includes people like omni baruch, jim acosta, jim himes, and there were two democrats who voted democrat including congressman greene himself, which has been so interesting during this entire thing. this venture is a pretty shameful form of punishment that no longer wants to go through but congressman greene has been saying over and over again, he is ready to face the consequences of his actions tuesday night and he would do it all over again if he had the opportunity. he is standing by his actions waving his cane at president trump and saying over and over again you don't have a mandate to cut medicaid. it was a wild scene on the house floor, the else republicans and ten democrats today moved to censure congressman al green for
8:01 am
interrupting the president speech. >> sandra: aishah this is to be a shameful punishment for congress, but he seems to be owning it and accepting the consequences. >> it seems like republican leadership through democrats a bone here. there were several different centers offered up by people like troy nehls had one as welld some lengthier than other ones. they could have chosen one that was pretty harsh towards congressman green. they didn't. they chose one by congressman neuhaus, by the way, voted to impeach president trump over the january 6th riot. short and sweet and very simple and that is why democrats voted along with republicans. even then use all dozens of democrats go to the well and they were not supposed to be there and they basically started to sing over speaker mike johnson to disrupt the whole thing. >> sandra: i should note that we are expecting to hear from leader jeffries, hakeem jeffries, any moment now.
8:02 am
i can only imagine, aishah, what we might be hearing there. >> hakeem jeffries and the other folks in house leadership for the democrats didn't say much, didn't say anything, move or flinch when congressman green was waving his cane and shouting at president trump. they were sitting 10 feet away across from the table there if you saw the address tuesday night along with all of us. i was inside the chamber and watching to see if they were going to look over and signal him to sit down and french. they never did anything to get him to stop. but i can tell you from reporting and other supporting that they are probably not happy with this outburst. it is not something they wanted to see from their conference. they were fine with people not showing up and protesting silently. i don't believe this is something they wanted to see happen. >> sandra: interesting. there were some in the meeting
8:03 am
that said they wish democrats would have stood up and supported us at the moment, the media at least. now we know where they stand on the issue. aishah, what has the tone then on capitol hill since the speech tuesday night? >> the tone has been before the president speech very divisive. this is a very divided congress. it is very tense. people are reaching their boiling point. democrats have been outraged over what elon musk has been doing over at doge, with what happened in the oval office last week with president zelenskyy, the meeting that sort of fell apart in the oval office. so things have never been great. i would say that things are probably the worst i have ever seen them in the four years i have been covering the house here. people have come to a point where i have never heard as many expletives this week before as i have. it has been pretty incredible with democrats using a lot of

8:06 am
today by formally centering him and i'm glad ten democrats joined in the vote. >> sandra: do you think this will curb more of behavior like that? >> i hope so but more than likely it will probably encourage more bad behavior because when i have outburst and the oversight committee and i had one yesterday with representative presley, they get rewarded by msnbc and other networks. that is unfortunate because you make a toxic environment more toxic. the people expect us to ag agren things like wasteful spending and trying to have peace around the world. these are the issues where the democrats are creating most of the chaos to try to disrupt congress. >> sandra: well, yesterday, another dramatic scene playing out capitol hill. oversight republicans ripped into four democratic actuary city mayor is in a hearing. lawmakers brought up violent
