"fox & friends" starts right now. ♪ >> lawrence: happening today, president trump will host the first ever crypto summit at the white house. >> brian: this comes just one day after the creation of a strategic bitcoin reserve and digital assets stockpile. >> ainsley: madeleine rivera is live in washington with all the details. >> madeleine: president trump has promised to make the united states the crypto-currency of the world. some of the expected attendees at this crypto summit like the heads of robinhood, coin base, chain link among others. the main point of the crypto summit create more clarity regarding regulations for crypto. the possibility of tax incentives for crypto holders is also expected to be discussed and the plan to establish the

first's strategic bitcoin reserve is also expected to come up. this comes after president trump signed an executive order yesterday authorizing treasury secretary scott bessent to set up this reserve. the white house's crypto czar david sacks capitalized with bitcoin forfeited as part of civil asset forfeiture proceedings. this will not cost taxpayers the dime. the u.s. will not sell any bitcoin deposited into the reserve, it with will be september as a store of value. the reserve is like a digital fort knox the crypto-currency often called digital gold. never been an audit direct a full accounting digital asset holding. the order also establishes a u.s. digital asset stockpile, crypto other than bitcoin. the difference between the bitcoin reserve and stockpile

times. we are ranked at the bottom of the list yet, we spend more. if you tell me about indiana and some of these great states that run really well, iowa, you tell me about those states, and if they run their own education, they are going to do a lot better than somebody sitting in washington, d.c. that couldn't care less about the pupils out in the midwest. >> why sign that order. >> we are starting the process. we are trying to get the schools back into the states. let the states run the school. i will tell you, you will see something -- it's going to blow your mind it will be run -- the school system. i also believe in school choice. but that will take care of itself. >> lawrence: so excited about your interview with linda mcmahon. i believe this is my number one issue. it is a civil rights issue of our time. if the democrats want to win people over, abandon the teacher's union and start talking about the poor kids in urban america.

the kids that are disadvantaged poor kids. they deserve a quality education. there's a direct linkage from the kids that do not have a quality education to the prisons in our country. and if you want to stop it get school choice out there. >> brian: city council people don't show up to vote. if you want a meritocracy and america to be a place of opportunity. you have to make that candidate, that person, that student equipped to take that opportunity. without an education, be able to read and without the fundamentals you can't do it. that's one way to make a true a meritocracy of equal opportunities but not equal outcomes but just basic things she brought up. parents are the primary decision makers, number one, number two taxpayer education should focus on fundamentals, math, reading, science and history. post secondary education should

be the path to have a well-pay career aligned with a workforce. not to put down the fine arts but you should know at the end of the day that if you got a sculpting degree you know you have a -- you know exactly how hard it's going to be to find a job. they want to focus on that which gets into some type of vocational education. >> ainsley: i want to talk to her about what does this mean for the average family? does this mean all that federal money will go to let's say my sister is a teacher in charleston. go to the school district and maybe divide that money up and give the teachers a raise or could that be for used for dei programs that some of these parents might not agree with in some of the liberal states? what does this mean for education for our children? will they focus on math and science and the important things and reading when you look at the numbers they are really down? a lot of people are worried about how this is going to effect school lunch programs. billions in funding for scholarships and grants as well. we will ask her what does this actually mean?

>> lawrence: i feel like you eliminate all the controversy when you give it to the parents. there is no way i'm sitting on this couch today without choice of schools. my parents we lived in a poor neighborhood. we could not afford to go to a good school. moved to garland school. we didn't have school choice but choice of schools. >> ainsley: what's the difference between school choice. school choice. choice of schools is within the district you are not locked in to your neighborhood school. you get to choose within that district. school choices you can go everywhere. you take that money there. if it's a private school or a local municipality there. but, because of that, my parents could move to another poor neighborhood within garland and i could go any other school. that means i wasn't locked down to failing school. i think there is a whole segment of the population. it's not just a racial issue. poor kids, poor white kids, poor latino kids it. effects us all. give the kids resources.

no parents wants to send their kids to a failing school. >> brian: i know a cousin of ours is a principal, vice principal in a school. they need students. and they are putting on their best show. telling them about the different things. i imagine the same thing with your school, if you have a choice of school. i need to you choose my school so can i hire more teachers. maybe get that new gym in order to get the funding that reflects that i'm selling every day to get the outcomes to be able to tell the parents you want to send your kid here. >> lawrence: brian, it's such good point what we saw in garland, texas is kids would flood to one school for example garland high. south garland their population would go down. what did they do? they started bringing more programs to there. and people would shift again. it breeds competition between the schools start offering different programs for the kids. that's what we want. >> ainsley: depending on your school. has the best program for their needs. >> brian: another sleeper issue before you go. kids aren't going to school.

evidently, since the pandemic, you got to see the numbers in new york and other major cities. kids aren't going. i mean, they are missing on the average like four or five days a month. they have no excused absences. in our district. if you -- you could not take your kid away on vacation if there was school. >> lawrence: that's right. >> brian: you could get suspended. you have to prove there was a family emergency. that's how crazy they were about kids missing. but let's move on. >> ainsley: okay. so trump, he is telling the cabinet members to actually keep the good people in your department even though doge is giving you the numbers. we trust elon. he said i trust him. is he a good man. is he doing a good job. is he looking at all the numbers. is he going to give you as a department head that information. then you get to decide how are going to keep and let go. listen to this. >> i want the cabinet members to keep good people. i don't want to see a big cut with a lot of good people are cut. i want the cabinet members to keep the good people and the people that aren't doing a good

job, that are unreliable, don't show up to work, et cetera, those people can be cut. so i had a meeting and i said i want the cabinet members go first. keep all the people you want. everybody that you need. and it would be better if they were there for two years instead of two weeks. because in two years they will know the people better. i want them to do the best job they can. elon has been really teaching everybody about the numbers that you can do. what i want is i want the numbers. i also want to keep the good people. we want to get rid of the people that aren't working. that aren't showing up. and have a lot of problems. and so they are working together with elon. and i think we are doing a really great job. >> lawrence: this is a good thing, brian. i know people are just going to hone in on the president telling the cabinet members hey, you have full control right here. i think you need both. you need the business guy that has no connection to the people there to make some cuts and

recommendations. but you also need the cabinet secretary are doing the job day to day to say i need this. i don't need this. we're cutting too much right here. we can cut here more. i think it's bringing both of these departments together. >> brian: it's perfect now that the secretary is in place -- now that the secretaries are in place they are in charge of their own departments. after you get the labor secretary today and then have the u.n. ambassador going to be in place soon as soon as it can get the numbers set in the house, elise stefanik, i think this is great. secretaries take the lead behind the recommendations from doge staffer or the doge team. if they don't do anything, doge is going to act. so, other channels in some newspapers are saying look, it was a rebuke to doge. step back, it really isn't. it is a finding our way because he said at the end of his give and take i'm looking to balance the budget by next year. to say do that you will have to lean out this thing. other thing fundamentally that

is it fair for a trans female to play in women's sports? listen to this. >> you right now should come out and be like, you know what in the young man who is about to win the date championship in the long jump in female sports. >> right. >> that shouldn't happen. you as a governor should step up and say no. >> no i appreciate. >> would you do something like that say no men in women's sports. >> i think it's an issue of fairness. that's easy to call out the unfairness of that. >> lawrence: so gavin values winning more than anything. he will change to win. of the problem that he has not calculated and is he normally a tactician which when it comes to his party. his party has not moved on. he is trying to move onto the general election. if this is the gavin newsom that has become moderate now, which i don't believe. it's all for politics. he won't win a democratic primary and you don't have to take my word for it. brian, just look at the reaction from the democrats. >> brian: it's unbelievable. i will say this. this is how insincere it is.

scholarships because biological male has taken it from them. he is not saying he is anti-trans. a lot of people who are against this because of fairness are not anti-trans. it's just they are saying it's not fair for my little girl to lose her scholarship to someone who is biologically stronger. so, if you read the "new york times," the ipsos poll back in january found the vast majority of americans -- this is why gavin newsom is smart if he wants to win an election. vast majority of americans including most democrats do not think that trans athletes should compete in women's sports. polled 2128 people, 79 percent said biological men should not participate in women's sports. 67% of democrats agreed with that 94% of republicans. the trans girl community makes up a very small percentage of our population. >> brian: before we move on and talk about the most extreme statement ever. one of the moms who filed a lawsuit against riverside. california unified school strict for this very reason because doesn't want her daughter

playing against males in sports. what is truly unfair is that he has the power to do something about this issue but doesn't. talk is cheap. take action. do something. by him not taking action or trying to come up with a plan he has added to the division in our state. he is not out of power. he could change it in california in a second. but he just wants to get along. please see through the hair gel. >> lawrence: the democrats have a leader right now in the house and it's hakeem jeffries. he didn't know what to make of it. this is his comments. >> i want to ask about california governor gavin newsom's comments saying that democrats are in the wrong for allowing transgender athletes to compete in female girls' sports? what is your response to that after democrats had opposed the men in girls sports. >> i haven't seen his comments what democrats oppose. what's unleashing sexual predators on girls throughout

the united states of america. >> lawrence: what does that even mean? i'm not even understanding what is he trying. >> ainsley: is he trying to pivot. he doesn't want to answer the question. >> lawrence: it's really not that complicated. guys can't be with the girls. they can't be un -- i remember when i was in school. and i played basketball. and there were certain rules because of title ix. and the girls have to get the court some of the days. and the guys got the court some of the -- you cannot discriminate. and we would say okay, we got a state championship, it not matter. you have to protect the vittle ofindividuality of the girls and guys. democrats used to lead on this issue but now they are taking backseat. >> brian: genital inspections right gender to compete. no one has said that in that act that was passed the protection of girls. >> ainsley: is that what he means unleashing sexual predators? >> brian: he thinks there are a

of crypto? >> well, here's the thing. the crypto-currency space is really interesting. you can't just think about it as the typical american retail investor. if you are an individual and thinking about investing in crypto, i warn you it is very volatile. and we have seen that with bitcoin since january over the past few months. it's been extremely volatile. it was up at about 100,000 and today it's at about 89,000. even after last night's exciting news with the new executive order. we saw crypto drop. we saw bitcoin drop for a second. anybody could get into it. there are different ways. there are etfs now. centralized trading platforms like coin base; however, do your research. do your homework. it is extremely risky and very volatile. >> lawrence: yeah. there is a lot of people, marc, they are hearing you say these terms and they don't know them. seems like it's something hard. i sold all my bitcoin, for

example. >> oh, no. >> lawrence: it was too much to go back and forth with it not like the traditional stock market. how do they get involved with it? >> for sure. i think a really simple place to start is to look at a centralized platform. coin base does a good thing with mixing both content and commerce. so you could go into coin base and set yourself up with a lot of educational tools before you go ahead and pull the trigger and invest. but there are so many different digital assets. bite coin has really stood apart. especially with last night's executive order. it's going to be perceived as digital gold. it's a stand alone. the cost, like i said, for one bitcoin is now almost $90,000. so there are ways to buy pieces of it. but there are so many different digital assets that have different use cases, too, that you might consider. such as e, ada and beyond. >> when people think of gold

they think about it being stable and strong. the president is saying the same thing about bitcoin. how is it strong and stable? how does it make our country more strong and stable? >> great question, lawrence. well, here's the thing about bitcoin. bitcoin was created only in 2008 at a time where the banking industry really fell apart. you remember, we had the financial crisis. the main impetus behind this digital asset was to push off from potential inflation, from the devaluation of fiat currency. so a certain extent what we are seeing now is the united states government is taking a position that will be able to thwart off inflation as well as government intrusion. so that's what is kind of interesting with regards to the united states taking a position on bitcoin today as well as stockpiling these other digital assets, lawrence. >> lawrence: marc beckman, thank you, sir. you broke a lot down.
