be giving you any votes to keep it going. >> the democrats want to close government down, that is up to them but i believe we will have the votes. the importance will be stressed by the president and we have to follow the president's lead, we do not want to close government down. we are making major reforms. these reforms take time and need to be done as we discuss in a few moments, carefully, as i have said. they need to be done with a scalpel rather than a sledgehammer. that's what we will do and we will work through this and in the interim this is necessary as well. the president will make that clear and members of congress will follow suit. rich: are we acknowledging a course correction and that we need a scalpel that elon musk and doge were being reckless

with cuts? >> there may have been some people in the administration being too aggressive but the president, let me say this, and i have been on the same page, i have spoken to the president about this three times, individually with him and he made clear and said to you and the media he does not want to hurt, medicare, medicaid, or social security. where there is waste, fraud, and abuse, that is harmful and that should be taken care of. when there is waste, fraud, and abuse there are that much less resources for those that deserve them. when you have abusive waste, fraud, and abuse, people who deserve social security, medicare, or medicaid, all the people we think of the military, get less because we are wasting money elsewhere.

we don't need to have transgender opera in colombia or the taliban using our money to purchase condoms, we don't need to have the muppets, sesame street in iraq. this is so bizarre and wasteful and there's tons of it. that is what we need to go after. also we need to go after the stuff in washington, the districts in the united states and most other states, there are many good federal workers we applaud for the work they do. rich: you turn to the tariff issue, the president is saying, you might have to bear with me, how long do you think people in your district are going to be willing to bear with the president if prices go up? >> nothing bad has happened yet. under the previous president, joe biden, prices went up a lot on everything. it wasn't a tariff issue and there was no reason for that. that was bad government.

it is ironic and maybe hypocritical is a better word that we have people on the left that are so concerned about the environment and our air and water, so are republicans, so concerned about that and want to stop production of any fossil fuel energy, yet when it comes to tariffs they want to purchase all their goods and services from countries like china that are belching out all kinds of pollutants into the atmosphere, they want to purchase goods and services from countries that use slave labor, underpinning the people who work in their factories and are using child labor. it is unbelievable and that doesn't bother them, that's okay. all donald trump is saying is it has been unfair and trade agreements china and other countries are negotiating with the united states, in some cases have been blatantly unfair. why is it okay to be unfair to

>> the chief medical examiner said 95-year-old hackman died of heart disease with alzheimer's as a significant contribute in factor. authority authorities say his wife, betsy aracowa died a week before her husband, their bodies were found in different parts of their rural new mexico home. she died of hunter virus pulmonary syndrome, a rare respiratory owners caused by viruses transmitted to humans through contact with infected rodents. the illness begins with minor symptoms like fever and muscle aches, but symptoms of this disease can get worse and become very deadly. take a listen. >> they can transition to a pulmonary phase of fluid in and around their lungs. a person can die very quickly. within 24 to 48 hours, roughly speaking, we got medical treatment. it's not uncommon to find

is there another mechanism, another way the dispute can be resolved? >> donald trump negotiated that agreement, that was his own agreement he negotiated, now he turns around saying it was a bad agreement. that doesn't make sense. he said a negotiated agreement, he's tearing it up and disregarding it. the result is americans are seeing prices go up. 's decisions are hurting americans. with respect to the way we manage our industries we have protections for our farmers and that's appropriate. there's nothing wrong with that, we've got an agreement and worked it out. what he has done is turn his back, broken that agreement, that puts a lot of lives into disarray and that's a bad thing to do. i'm concerned with the misinformation donald trump has been putting out on sites like truth social. it's important to understand the facts.

donald trump negotiated this agreement, signed it and now he is breaking it. rich: it seems the conservatives were an easy win from taking the parliament, not the case anymore. >> it brought people together. the conservatives in canada were talking down canada saying canada was weak. that's not what canadians wanted to hear. we are proud of ourselves, proud of our country, we want to fight and defend who we are. we've got a healthcare system which you could be diagnosed with an illness and the only thing you worry about in terms of cost is paying for your parking when you go to the hospital. surgeries, operations all covered and we are proud of that. we got to take care of each other. that's how you build a good country and the good society and we will defend those things. rich: saying no to being the 51st state. there's a conversation among lawyers who want to discuss that.

that teenager is facing multiple charges including murder, attempted murder and possession of illegal weapons. authorities say this started when police were investigating illegal firearms last night. they approached a suspicious group of people and that is when the shooting started. we are told he did not get the opportunity to leave his police car before he was shot. the newark mayor says kids with guns and weapons on the street in general is an issue in the community. >> we have to do a better job. i have to do a better job. our families have to do a better job. the community has to do a better job making sure our children are not handling guns in the street shooting at police officers. it's not a police problem. this is our problem. >> reporter: the investigation into the shooting is just getting started. there are a lot of questions how the 14-year-old got a weapon and why they shot at police.

transgender. rich: donald trump calling out what he calls wasteful government spending program. joining me as public policy justin goodman. thank you for joining us. what is this grant and how did you find it? >> the waste in washington is worse than anyone could imagine when it comes to animal testing, $20 billion every year and so proud vote donald trump featured some of these wasteful transgender experiments we exposed and honored he took swift and decisive action to cut some of that spending the morning after the address to congress which we exposed hundreds of millions of dollars of spending by the nsf and us department of agriculture on animal experience, colleges and universities, hormone therapies, invasive surgeries to create trans feminine mice and rats, giving puberty blockers to baby animals to
