some on the left are rallying behind mahmoud khalil. he is anti-israel, anti-america, and hates jewish americans. a judge has blocked the anti-israel protesters deportation while the trial is playing out. he let a lot of what we saw on the campus of columbia university. he hates americans. he is pro-hamas affiliation there. fox news has learned that before immigration customs and enforcement arrested khalil for supporting a terrorist group, he was previously investigated as a potential national security threats. investigators paul also found anti-semitic and hateful posts on his social media. i'm harris faulkner, you are in "the faulker focus."

front -- which is what the white house are talking about from alexandria half reporting and peer 250% tariffs on our dairy. they are making hand over fist. 50% sounds like a big number. 250 sounds like a crime. >> it's outrageous. we cannot live without. consuming great damage to our farmers. at the end of the day, what i'm going to predict is trump will prevail. he is a winner. i would never bet against donald trump. the other countries will be forced to lower their tariffs, and i think we will have for -- more free and more fair trade. the europeans have three times higher tariffs than we do. post up to down. i will say this loud and clear: if the countries think they can bully trump, they've got it wrong. that's not a game they can win. >> and when they bully him, they believe the american people.

the american people hired him. they understand enough about this process. quickly, i'm looking at canada -- the list is long on their side. are they giving us as much as we are giving them in terms of these tariffs pick they cannot live without us with this list. at least when it comes to transportation of any kind. >> we are the hub of the world economy. every hub has to trade with us. i'm a free-trade guy. i believe in the benefits of two countries trading with each other voluntarily. it makes both countries better off, but it's true that these countries have taken advantage of the united states with high tariffs on agricultural and manufacturing products. and all they are saying is "let's have a level playing field." who could argue against that? >> let's talk about what that looks like. this is on the heels of having a tough stock market appearance yesterday anyway.

there is a lot of money and stock market. you can break it down for us. what are we looking at two days in a row of this if that is the case today? >> well, it's true that investors don't like tariffs. they are nervous about it, no question. trump will prevail. at the end of the day, there is no question that we will see a booming stock market under trump. look what happened in his first term in. one the strongest stockmarkets ever. we have inherited a god-awful mess from joe biden. the debt and deficit are larger than they've ever been. we have a big correction to take place here. i think once we get through this -- and one other thing, we have got to make a trump tax cuts permanence. congress, get going on that. that lower taxes in every business and family in america. >> and in some strange way, looking at this may put more emphasis behind protecting the 2017 tax cuts so people don't get hit by any prices -- for even a short period of time so

they don't get hit with that, and basically a tax increase. fox business' charlie gasparino has a new piece called "ignore the stock market: wall street dealing with painful detox from government spending addiction" --" and for decades. the federal government has been addicted to spending. here is a quote. "think of the current u.s. economy as a junkie weaning himself off of heroin which is never easy. addicted to the heroine of government spending, both monetary and physical for so long that we are running $2 trillion deficits for the economy, growing nearly 3% with low unemployment, as sleepy joe biden spend money we didn't have. >> right before covid, we had about a $4 trillion budget.

that was only what five or six years ago. 7 trillion. we have got to drastically outsize -- what elon musk is doing is so productive. he is showing the american people "we don't have to cut your social security benefit. we can just take a chainsaw to the waste of fraud. look at medicaid. one out of every four people in medicaid is a fraudulent user of that program. hundred billion dollars a year. >> got to protect the people who are legitimately there. sometimes it's the scalpel with that and the process of playing out before our very eyes.

forward with its cost-cutting eliminating procedures. i think most importantly, we are the majority now. white house, house, senate. if we shut down the government, against us -- and this is the first time i have seen the democrats actually talking about shutting down the federal government. if that's what they want to do, it will not be popular with the american people. lastly, this is a time we can get to this reconciliation, where we increase orders pending, border defense, border security. the dod, our military, energy, and get to the tax cuts to extend terms tax cuts. otherwise, we will have the largest tax cut in american history.

that's what's at stake. >> and that's what i've been talking up this morning with all the talk of tariffs. for one part, people understand what it means and they know they will have to watch this play out for certain. lack of time. there's that, but if you have a tax hike in the middle of everything and they are what the president put in process in 2017, so you know they work for the economy because they have been there, that just -- that's not common sense. >> that's right. and just so everybody understands, they will expire if congress does not act in reconciliation. again, it would be the largest tax increase in american history. we can't afford that with this economy. that's why i think passing the cr to keeping the government open, keep doge open, our border patrol open -- it is actually a decrease in discretionary spending, as i mentioned, but then go forward to the next step of reconciliation.
