held without legal justification or evidence he has violated any laws. of course, president trump wants khalil out of the country. but a federal judge has put a pause on that for now. khalil, born in a palestinian refugee camp was raised in syria became a legal permanent resident of our country last year. his wife was in court yesterday to hear those arguments in her husband's case. they have been married for two years. she is a dentist, an american citizen expecting their first child next month. she told reuters quote, mahmoud is a palestinian and he has always been interested in palestinian politics standing up for his people. he is fighting for his people. but secretary of state marco rubio says his actions align with the terrorist group hamas and that the sects and administration have the right to kick him out of the country. the judge gave the government lawyers and khalil's lawyers until monday to file more legal

countries preserve their character. the constitution does not oblige this country to import classes of people who don't want to support the american social and civic compact. i have immigrants in my life. anybody knows they are very reverential than national board america of the american experiment. supreme court precedent the united states has the right to -- they should do it. the government has to make a plain case here that this gentleman represents a threat to american national security and foreign policy initiatives. i think they can do that. under the biden administration they demonstrated iran supported anti-israel, pro-hamas organizations. one of the associations with distributeing pro-hamas propaganda. that's a threat.

both kids played supports. my son did travel baseball. there is legitimate concern there. i don't think it should be -- >> dana: for the women. >> parents who are concerned that there might be unequal competition is a fair discussion. i would say bluntly before high school i think we should be much more open. when you get to high school and college it is much more legitimate discussion. what i don't like is the insensitivity i think being shown to what parents and kids are going through if a kid feels in their heart and soul they have a different identity that's an emotional reality and parent cannot ignore that. >> dana: what about the girls missing out an scholarship opportunities. for example the young woman who got banged in the head by the volleyball player? >> it's legitimate concern. >> dana: democrats, do you think they're on the wrong side now? >> i would say as a parent first let's show sensitivity and concern for what parents and

kids are grappling with. this stuff didn't just come out of thin air. people for centuries who felt their identity didn't match. we have to be honest about that and show sensitivity and concern for those individuals and children. >> dana: doesn't mean they should be play in sports. >> that's the difference. where do we draw the line in terms of sports? not a debate before high school. before high school let everyone play whatever their identity is. high school and college a deeper conversation how to make things fair. that's an honest conversation. >> bill: a big election here. democratic mayor, see what happens there. new york 7-one democrats. there was a shift to the right in this election in november it's 7-one democrats. hoer is what is going on in the polling. cuomo appears to have a lead at 31% over adams at 11%. i want you to reflect on that. also want to bring up the fact that this is now five years removed since covid and you were the one in charge and relying on a lot of the guidance you gave.

long past the pandemic kids skip cool in new york. absenteeism shot up from 25 to 34.8% last year. you have a chance to reflect on this. what would you do different? >> absenteeism problem is profound. it was profound before covid. worse now. something we have to come to grips with in this country. why are schools not doing a better job of getting kids engaged and keeping them there? that's something we tried to work on. we didn't get far enough is the truth. when i think of covid overall, this city has made a miraculous recovery and new yorkers were heroic during covid. we were the epicenter. >> bill: trying to get people to come back to the office. >> that was a bigger cultural change that happened across the whole country and remote work is a blessing and curse, let's be honest. the life of this city, the jobs that have come back, energy you go around and look restaurants.

place and want it to get better and i feel like it has been slow to get better. when it comes to any of those candidates do you support any of them? >> i'm not endorsing anyone yet. something real important. at this exact moment in 2013 running for mayor if you put up the chart i was in fourth place. election is over three months away. a lot can happen. what will happen is andrew cuomo has negatives. what happened with the nursing homes. cover-up after that and women who allege harassment will come forward. i think one of these other candidates will emerge as a strong alternative and it's game on. three months is a lifetime in politics. >> bill: thank you for coming by. we have 100 more questions. >> dana: i love the city. >> i have 100 more answers. >> bill: i want to talk about the jails and the prison plan and what the effect of that will be on crime. >> happy to do so and glad we got you from wyoming.

blanks here. during that 4:00 in the morning time to 9:00 when the young man was seen leaving the beach it is believed the young man remained on the beach with sudiksha konanki state on the beach. but one male remained on the beach with her, went swimming, a wave took her out. the male swum back in, threw up. removed, bill, on the beach for three hours and then it wasn't until 4:00 that afternoon that sudiksha konanki was reported missing. there is a lot to fill in in between there, bill. >> bill: when they name him as a person of interest, what does it mean in the dominican republic?

>> in the dominican republic -- that's just it. the dominican republic has not yet named him a person of interest. it is the loudoun county sheriff's office in virginia who has said that he is a person of interest. but we haven't gotten that here. the dominican republics believe she died accidentally. so the question is was there foul play or accident here. >> bill: that social security an important distinction. thank you for that, ted. i want you to listen. this is apparently a guest at the hotel where they were at some particular point in that night. this is how they describe what was going on there. >> the night of her disappearance everything at the hotel was just a lot more chaotic, a lot more wild than normal. a lot of people out that night either at the customer service desk, either in the lobby charging their phones, either in the gym charging their phones as me and my friends were. >> bill: you have heard about

that, ted, thus far. the authorities -- you have the loudoun county opinion on the case already. do they have investigators there and looking at this? how do the officials in the d.r. respond to that? >> well, you know, the officials in the d.r. are looking at every aspect of this case to try to find out what they really have here. i don't think they themselves know what they have, bill. there was havoc going on at this hotel. this was -- it has been said it was one of the reasons that she was out on that beach that night, early morning with this one male. so all of this is part of the vestigation that they are trying to conduct here in the dominican republic. >> bill: the individual we saw on camera, i mentioned there were seven. there was only one male. is he cooperating and is everybody else in that video?

>> well, from what i've been told, all of the individuals are cooperating and going back to them and trying to piece their stories together. the one individual you're talking about, the so-called person of interest from loudoun county, what they have said is he has given several different inconsistent stories. but until they find a body or come up with a body, and that body of water over my shoulder here, they are at a loss as to what happened here. >> bill: last question, ted. the male in the video, it's my understanding he is still in the dominican republic. is that true? >> it is saying he is still here. law enforcement have his passport. that he is not incarcerated or under arrest. he may be free to go. i think they want him to remain in the dominican republic for a little while longer. >> bill: thanks, ted williams
