in moscow just after 3 a.m. here and as you said, president obama, his foreign policy keynote, you're going to deal with russia, you'll have to deal with president medved, but he'll speak through the state media and in one of the widely mass papers being read president obama's article one step in the the cold war. washington interfered in russian political life and it's stretching the ruling kremlin tandem to the breaking point. and head spinningly risky game dealing with putin in such a way, it's not to say that they will not achieve a beneficial outcome for the u.s. already, and the russians and the united states agree to a prospect of a russian and u.s. dealing with

the war on going in afghanistan. russia will now allow the united states to shift by air lethal military equipment to u.s. forces, marine and army in afghanistan and over russian air space. previously the russians only allowed nonlethal to be carried by train across the russian territory, a significant improvement in relations between the two countries. they'll spend the lion's share of time over two days here in russia and met together in london a couple of months ago and working on reductions in nuclear arms and delivery systems and warheads and only progress to be reported here, julie, no treaty-like break throughs and the official addressing us here today, if the treaty is not ratified or completed by the expiration day, the president may use his authority to continue that frame work even though the senate itself will have no voice as typically does in other arrangements with other countries. back to you in new york. >> major garrett live in moscow

i guess we are going to have to wait and see if she does that. molly henneberg, thank you very much. developing now on the fox report. a community terrorized. five people dead and a suspected serial killer on the loose in south carolina. a 15-year-old girl from the small town of gaffney is the killer's fifth victim. she was shot helping her family at the family store, the her father was also killed and now many in the community say they're afraid to go outside, but trying not to overreact. >> most the people i talk to just aren't going to let this 0 affect their lives. >> still many parks in the outdoor community are empty as people take extra precautions to stay safe tonight. live to mary anne silber in gaffney with the latest. >> we talked to residence earlier today, the streets seem a lot more empty than they usually are, especially for a sunday. but that most people are just

trying to make it through and not dramatically alter their lives although a lot of people are deciding to arm themselvesment earlier today. hundreds of people turned out for-- to pay their last respects to two of the victims of this suspected serial killer laid to rest, hazel lender and 50-year-old daughter gina parks were found pound and shot in the home. another victim, a 63-year-old peach farmer well-known in the community was found shot dead last week. latest victim. 15-year-old abby tyler, clinging to life for two days, she was shot along with her father at the family furniture store, her father steven tyler died at the scene. as the manhunt continues, the entire town is gripped with fear afraid to leave their homes, and others say they're not going to let it affect their lives. >> and people are really scared and i know that the police are working as hard as they can. and i just certainly hope that--

>> developing news. sad news out of florida tonight. two monorail trains colliding at disney world and one operator killed in the crash. taken by two tourists, there you see the trains and police and rescue personnel trying to get inside the cab where the operator was killed was sitting and a second operator inside was taken to a hospital as a precaution, he is going to be okay. we understand that five disney world visitors were on the trains, but not injured and the crash happened around two o'clock eastern time this morning. and the ticket and transportation center with the location where the crash happened and disney a sending

condolences to the family of the deceased employee and shutting down the monorail while investigating the crash. they carry thousands of guests every day along nearly 15 miles of track running throughout the amusement park. never have they seen an accident like this. a deadly crash in upstate new york as a bus goes out of control and flipped over. it happened this morning as well along the adirondacks, near lake george, 60 miles from the capital city of albany. a bus rolled on to its side and plowing into a rock ledge killing a woman who got pinned underneath. they're not sure what caused the crash. the bus was operated by a private company, but as of tonight, they haven't publicly identified it. new details in the shocking death of the former all-star quarterback for the tennessee tight taps quarterback, steve mcnair, an autopsy shows that he was indeed the victim after

homicide and shot four times, twice in the head, mcnair's body was found yesterday inside a condo in nashville, tennessee. police also found the body of the woman on the right of your screen. they say she is 20-year-old, and died from a single gunshot wound from the side of her head. a poise toll nearby and mcnair was married, but police say he had been dating her for a few months and now, they're trying to determine whether his death was the result of a murder-suicide. chris gutierrez joins us live outside the nashville police department. what's the latest there? >> yeah, julie, nashville police tell us they uncovered details about that relationship by interviewi interviewing mcnair and others friends. they don't know what if anything mcnair's wife michelle knew about this, the condo he was allegedly renting with friend and the two bodies were discovered in that condo. mcnair's death has been ruled a

homicide, not not only two times in the chest, but also two times in the head while sitting on a sofa in the living room. she was sound lying on the floor in the same room with a single gunshot wound to the head and police recovered a semi automatic pistol. the crime scene may suggest a murder-suicide. they're not quite ready to rule her death a suicide. >> she does have a single gunshot wound to the side of the head, but there is more investigation required, we are going to be interviewing persons throughout the day today and probably for the next several days, there's also quite a bit of laboratory testing that is necessary, ballistics testing. tissue sample testing from the medical examiner's office, a variety of things yet to be done. >> mcnair was a sports legend here in nashville, a former nfl mvp played in the league for 13 seasons and led the titans to the first and only super bowl appearance. as you can imagine, fans are

shocked and saddened by the tragic and untimely death of steve mcnair, back to you in new york. >> julie: thanks so much, chris gutierrez. to wisconsin where a convicted murderer has slipped out of a county jail and he is on the run tonight. police say 29-year-old eric adams literally ran out the door at this minimum security jail in kenosha county just north of the illinois border and not far from chicago. how could this happen you ask? welsh the doors, get this, they were unlocked because the facility is a work release center and people in the neighborhood are worried because back in 1999, this man, adams, was sentence today 20 years for felony murder. and armed robbery. but he'd been moved to the minimum security facility because of apparent good behavior. he was up for parole in three months, in fact. well, now, we're hearing unconfirmed reports tonight that adam may have been spotted late last night outside a nightclub in milwaukee. more details as they come in. some economists call it the

>> he fell into the hand of the enemy and that's when the real war comban. you heard from bud day, recipient of the medal of honor, he was a colonel in the air force, august 26th. 1967 his plane was hit by anti-aircraft fire and he was forced to eject over north vietnam. day hurt his knee and his back and his arm was broken in three places and he was immediately captured by the north vietnamese as you just heard. they took him to a prison camp and they tortured him. within a week, bud day escaped, despite his injuries, and he managed to walk back across the dmz becoming the only american p.o.w. to escape from north vietnam, but the enemy followed him and cap toured him just two miles from an american military base and they took day back to the prison camp and subjected him to brutal torture. later this day, day was moved into a prison cell with another

captured american flyer, who made a splint to stabilize dave's broken arm, that captured flyer was named john mccain. on march 14th, 1973, after more than five years in captivity, bud day was set free. he received the medal of honor in 1976, because despite the torture, despite the beating, bud day never gave in, he kept his honor. he is an american hero. new developments tonight in the crash of that yemeni airways jet in the indian ocean. we're learning that a french submarine picked up the signals from the plane's two black boxes. you recall the flight from paris, crashed off the comoros islands last week off the coast of southern africa. 153 passengers on board, only a 12-year-old girl survived. she clung to a piece of the plane in the water for ten hours before being rescued. investigators say that flight

626 crashed while trying to land in high wind. this was the scene in the city of hamburg, germany overnight. dozens of americans facing off again against-- dozens facing off against cops in riot gear and water cannons. 28 people hurt, 70 more arrests the anarchists are saying that the policies let german people down. vice-president joe biden, quote, misread how bad the economy was. that a reaction to the news that america's unemployment rate hits 9.5% last month. the highest it's been in 26 years, but in an interview on abc's this week, the vice-president pointed out, we're only 120 days into the 787 billion dollar economic stimulus plan. and said several major programs have yet to take effect. caroline shively with the news

from washington, caroline? >> julie vice-president biden says the obama administration made a mistake when it comes to the economy telling abc this. >> we misread how bad the economy was, but we're now only about 120 days into the recovery package. >> mr. biden stands by the 787 stimulus package saying it's the right package given the circumstances the country is in. he says the 9 1/2% unemployment rate is too high, but more jobs are coming. republicans and even many democrats have complained at the slow pace of job creation, the vice-president pointed out that the stimulus plan was set up to roll out over a year and a half and to expect some major programs to start up in september. >> over on fox news sunday, things got a little heated between the house majority leader and minority leader over the stimulus. >> we got to understand, we inherited 2 million jobs being lost the three months before we took office. the policies that were put in place, were put in place about

will also get a band tied on their wrist. and anyone wanting to go to the memorial will need both a ticket and the intact wristband. all of this, as the investigation to just how michael jackson died continues. casey stegall with the news live at the steams center in los angeles. what's the latest on the investigation, first of all. >> before we get to that, i want to show you the coveted wristband we have been talking about all weekend, just passed these out for members of the press, this is going to get new. we assume this is what the winner's wristbands look like, maybe a different color or something like that. in terms of the investigation, we have been talking so much about the memorial, but there is a lot going on with the investigation. we're still waiting on those toxicology reports to come back. not only from the l.a. county coroner's office, but also the independent autopsy that was ordered the next day by the family and those reports are going to tell us what prescription medications michael jackson was on. take a look at the video. we've seen it time and time again, but we did see lots of prescription bottles pulled out

of the home where michael jackson had been staying near beverly hills and basically the d.e.a. has been called in at the request of the l.a.p.d. and what they're doing, they're going through and tracking all of the doctors and all of those prescriptions, and they're interviewing those doctors to make sure they were legit, but again, at this point, the official cause of death remains to be seen on the king of pop. >> julie: and casey, i understand there's a court hearing set for tomorrow. what's that all about? >> welsh the big court hearing set for tomorrow is-- pertains to the estate. in fact, it's going to happen not far from where i'm standing. we are going to learn who gets temporary control of that estate. keep in mind, it's an estate valued at more than 500 million dollars according to michael jackson's will so that's something that we're going to be following closely tomorrow. the other battle that's brewing in court is over the custody of michael jackson's three children. in that will, katherine jackson, michael's mother was named as temporary guardian and entertainer diana ross as a

packup, but we still don't know if debby rowe, the biological mother of the two older children will go after custody of the kids and that's what a court will decide later this month, julie. >> julie: i a know a lot of people are worried about who is going to foot the security for the staples center, the jackson diehards don't care what, about the rest of the folks in l.a.? >> well, some of the people on the los angeles city council sure would like help with the bill. we don't know how much it's going to cost, the total price tag of this event, but it's going to be quite expensive, as you can imagine, when you have to deal with all of the police officers that are going to be required to do crowd control, not to mention public work staff to shut down the streets. because there's going to be a huge perimeter setup around the staples center so that spectators can't get to it. now, one city council member we talked to says that michael jackson's family or in the least aeg, the people who own the staples center and folks organizing the concert michael jackson was going to be doing,

50 concerts in london, one city council member says they need to help foot some of the bill, it's going ton expensive and l.a. about 535 million dollars in debt, the state of california, we've been reporting on, 22 billion dollars budgetfall, not a whole lot of extra cash lying around for stuff like this. >> julie: there is not. casey stegall, thank you so muchment what are the odds of getting tickets to the jackson memorial. extremely slim. as we mentioned 1.6 million people have registered for people. only 8,750 names will be drawn. that means there's only a .5% chance of winning a pair of tickets and one of those bracelets, apparently. now that the fires are behind us, and we've finished honoring america's 233rd birthday, like to remind you as the country has grown so has one of our not celebrated traditions. debt, without it the united states may not exist and your life style could be very

different. fox business network's brenda buttner, how a tradition of spending borrowed money could lead to our next economic crisis. >> reporter: debt, everyone struggles with it especially in the tough times and you may have more of it than you realize. and at $37,000 a year for each and every one of americans, that's your portion of the national debt. yes, the u.s. death 1.4 trillion dollars and growing, about a trillion bucks a year. so fast, that the debt clock adding up each second how much more the government borrows had to shut down last year because it just didn't have enough numbers. now, this of course isn't the first time we've been in debt. we financed the revolutionary war by going into the red. but historically it's rarely been this big. do some number crunching and figure out overall debt as a percentages of the output of all the u.s. economy and economists call this the gdp. it's a whopping 80%.

the problem that financing is surely is at some 500 billion a year, interest payments alone can only be described as huge. the fourth biggest spending cog. right now a lot of the debt is possible because of foreigners, we not only print money, we finance it by the sale of treasuries, china, japan, persian gulf oil producers are big buyers of debt, but their economies are hitting trouble, too. until something is done by the politician ins charge in washington and they've been on a bit after spending spree lately. remember your debt load and that of your children and your grandchildren is a lot bigger than what your checkbook shows. julie, back to you. >> julie: all right. brenda, thank you so much. a fireworks celebration turk into a nightmare. a pedestrian bridge overcrowded with spectators collapsing into a lake in indiana. 50 people plunging into the water as the festivities ended, rescue crews frantically searching for adults and children alike in the dark

middle of the street, just feet from several homes. both people on board were killed, witnesses saying the plane looked to be struggling before falling from the sky. no one on the ground was hurt, but flames from the crash briefly sparked a grass fire. the cause of the accident still under investigation. colorado, an incredible tale of survival. a teenager thrown from his jeep after driving off a 140 foot cliff. the 19-year-old spending the night injured and alone in the wilderness before planning to crawl up the cliff so he could be scene. rescuers shocked anyone could come out of that accident alive. >> it's compacted into a little ball, can't tell what kind of car it is. >> to get ejected from the car, your chances of dying go up considerably. >> it's not clear why the young driver left the road, but told that heavy rains crashed out gravel along the mountain road making parts give way.

an anti-aircraft battery. he saw one of his wingmen take a hit and saw the plane in flames on the ground and new he had to rescue his friend. couldn't do it from the sky. as you just heard, thomas hudner called in a rescue helicopter and then intentionally crash his own plane. he leaped out and ran through the snow to where his friend's plane was burning. hudner threw snow on the plane and used the only tool available, a small ax to try to cut his comrade out of the wreckage. unfortunately his fellow pilot justin brown could not be saved, but for his action 25-year-old thomas hudner received the med tal of honor. to him and to all the men and women serving our country tonight, we say thank you. and now, breaking news on the fox report, here is a live picture. we want to look at the live picture at an airport in honduras where the ousted president attempted to land his plane. he was forced out of the
