the problem seems to be with democratic governors, democratic senators, and blue dog democrats in the house, so he really does not have a right to blame republicans. they have the whole kit and caboodle, right? >> right, and in the end, sean, that is why we are going to get health-care reform, because they are going to stay and support this because keeping the present system is absolutely unacceptable, and i think everybody knows that. 47 million americans are without health care, and americans get declined health care because they have pre-existing conditions or dropped her because they did seriously ill or lose their health care because they move from one state to another or lose jobs. there is health care security. sean: but, governor, the president's goal was to get this finished an accomplished in the next couple of weeks. here is the problem. the president himself, when asked about a specific provision

in the bill, that once the legislation was passed would at prevented people from getting new insurance, he had not -- would have prevented people from getting new insurance, he had not read it. the president has not even read the bill. >> i think what the president is doing is letting the two houses in congress put some of the elements of the bill together, and i think this is eventually going to end up in conference committee, and i think that is where the administration is going to have its major inputs, and no question about that. sean: he wants it done in two weeks, and he has not yet even read the bill. >> two weeks, sean. when he says he wants it done in two weeks, the senate version and the house version are going to be different -- it will go to conference committee, and they will hash this out in the fall. look. one of the things i thought the president said that was particularly appealing tonight

is the reason we have got to move fast is that there are american citizens, and, sean, i know you are a decent guy -- someone out there who has cancer and cannot get health care coverage, and that has to be changed. she cannot be sentenced to a death sentence because she cannot get coverage. sean: the government-rationing body in it britain just deny women with advanced breast cancer treatment. you cannot be denied treatment in this country today based on your inability to pay. i want to ask you about this question. >> yes, you are. sean: not by law. >> it happens in the emergency room. you end up in the emergency room, an hmo'sd hmo's can turn u down. i know that in pennsylvania. sean: i know that you cannot be denied coverage because of your

what we have lost more without the stimulus? i know you are coming into pennsylvania -- would we have lost more about the stimulus? we can interview the workers. they had not a word in six months, and they are back on the job. we will interview contractors who are providing his concrete and steel, and i can tell you that they are hiring back, -- who are providing the concrete and steel. sean: , we are also robbing from our children and grandchildren to get this money -- sean: we are also robbing from our children and grandchildren. >> the problem with the stimulus is that we did not have enough infrastructure in the beginning. it does create jobs, infrastructure. we should have had more infrastructure. sean: this was not the job that they promise. by the way, i am only coming to philadelphia if i get a cheese steak. tease -- -- tastycakes and

ascendancy, and i think it is now. if obama does one thing. he talks, and even that is getting worse. he does not understand this issue. he does not comprehend the basics. he is not even interested in the basics. he is an ideologue. he is looking to transport things from the private sector, and he does not care how we get there. -- transfer things from the private sector. "well, if you have that, we will take care of it." medicare does not do that. medicate does not do that. canada does not do that -- medicated does not do that. europe does not do that. -- medicaid does not do that. sean: mark, he has got to basically everything he has wanted. they have both houses of congress. more importantly, they are attempting to ram this down the throats of the american people

without any specifics. they do not want any debate or any cost analysis. the cbo scores it up, and then they threatened to take it elsewhere. they just say they want to tax the rich but not who is going to pay for it. it seems like he is fairly arrogant, and that after getting everything he wants, and now he seems on the issue that people are balking. have you noticed this? >> yes, that is becoming quite clear. today's press conference could have been a press conference he gave previously. when he does say things, it is almost schizophrenic. as i said, they keep talking about cutting costs, and then they keep talking about expanding coverage. there is something called the law of physics, you know? sean: it becomes mathematically impossible to do this. how do you answer this charge? you have a liberal commentators, and they get these thrills running up and down their legs

every time the anointed one talks, he and then you have these commentators out there who do not understand conservatism. these. commentators are out there, and they are saying that conservatives -- these idiots commentators saying things. nothing could be further from the trip if they listen to me or you or rush limbaugh or read your book -- further from the truth. >> demint, the cato institute, the heritage foundation. we believe in true reform. what obama says about reform is really destruction. he wants to destroy the greatest health-care system. here is what i know. during his press conference, he did not say one word about the wonders of the american health- care system, the millions and millions of people who work in it and do it, in many cases, selflessly. we have foreigners poring over our borders to get access to our

sean: now, earlier this week, we send our own ainsley earhardt to chicago to investigate issues of patient dumping that have rocked the chicago medical center. the administrator at the heart of the controversy is none other than first lady michelle obama. let's take a look. >> before you buy into barack obama's universal health-care plan, you may want to hear about the urban health initiative, and it has been stirring up quite a controversy in the windy city. the program began in 2006 as the brainchild of first lady michelle obama when she was the v.p. at the chicago medical center. its mission? to provide quality care to the

area's poor and streamline the emergency room by directing non- emergency cases to other clinics. despite numerous phone calls and emails, we were denied interviews with any of their employees, but we did talk to a former student at the university medical school who was familiar with the initiative. >> this program helps by helping to identify people who are using the emergency room in ways that are not appropriate because they have no other options, and it turns away -- it is the biggest win/win, because the patient benefits, and the health-care costs go down, but require some investment. >> to get that investment, michelle obama, along with close friend and future obama advisor valerie jarrett, hired david axelrod, the obama spin doctor. he began to issue a pr campaign, and it works. the good press surrounding the program helped the hospital when

a grant worth $23 million, and even today, it continues to be the beneficiary of government funding, receiving $190,000 from the omnibus spending bill, which is on top of the more than $50 million in tax breaks the hospital is given every year, -- $15 million in tax breaks. the program certainly provides the university positions here is a convenient way to focus on their wealthy patients and pushed the uninsured out the door. -- it provides the university physicians here a convenient way. staff was more interested in the insurance provider, she says, than they were interesting to resign. after learning she had medicaid, she was promptly redirected one hour away -- that they were in treating her son -- than they were. there was a scathing press

release, criticizing the urban health initiative, saying, quote, this is a dangerous precedent. a few months later, a 78-year- old medicare patient died in the waiting room after nurses failed to register him for almost four hours. unfortunately, these experiences are far from uncommon. many are poor or uninsured, and people we interviewed outside of local clinics said that it would be the last emergency room they would visit. >> i know several people that at that a personal experience. >> it took a long time for that. >> before i go to the university of chicago, i would think of other hospitals that are probably further out of the area, because the university of chicago is like one of the closest hospitals to my home, but i would pass them and go to

zimmer's. >> there is a backlash among south side residents -- pass them and go somewhere else. >> what we see different is a lot of communities are out in the cold. >> he is also skeptical that patients directed away from the hospital are receiving better placare at local clinics. >> these are staffed by the county, and to my understanding, that service is nothing comparable to what you get at the university of chicago. >> one man agrees with that assessment, and he has 25 years in the industry. >> it is about reserving beds in the university of chicago medical center for well-heeled, well insured medical patients. >> in fact, he goes further, calling it a patient dumping scheme, and a practice outlawed by president reagan in 1986.

>> if it does not violate the letter of the law, it certainly violates the spirit of a lot. it is patient dumping. >> a similar practice was unveiled in l.a., when there was a video that showed a hospital dumping patients out into the street. using that, the medical center may be brought up on federal charges, facing huge penalties. for now, the university continues to receive federal funding, but legislators are taking note. a democratic congressman registered a congressional inquiry into the patient dumping practice, writing a, quote, "i am concerned about recent media reports that allege that the medical center is turning away and refusing treatment to low- income, uninsured patients." republican senator chuck grassley also called for action over one year ago. the two recently got together to share their concerns. >> in the case of a hospital,

there was accusations of patient dumping. congressman rice came to me. we visited about this. we are thinking in terms of legislation on the health-care reform bill that is coming before congress. >> last month, the urban health initiative held a forum to address such concerns, but all that came out of it was their desire to repair the relationship with the community. the medical center continues to insist that no one gets turned away for care. maybe that is because the southside port just think they will be shown the door. >> the initiative was developed in the hometown of the obama is -- the southside pouor just thik that they will be shown the door. >> the initiative was developed in the hometown of the obamas. >> we are going to pass health care reform, not 10 years from now, not five years from now. we are going to pass it this

they drove one our way to get surgery. sean: there is an audacity here by the obamas.
