obviously, we collect a lot of enthusiastic people, but it does not look like that sort of astroturf. >> this is like an american revolution. you have people all over the country who are attending these. it is a cross-section of america. many of them are independence. it is people who have never been politically active before -- many of them are independents. you are showing all of these signs. it is interesting that there was a town hall meeting in northern virginia where i live, and people were protesting against the health-care bill, and they all had handmade signs like the one you see on the screen right now. the ones who were in favor of it, they had been handed signs by the unions that said things like "health care now." these are great americans. this is fantastic. these are people who do not want the government to be dictating how much money they give for

bailouts, and they are mad about the deficits, and they are mad about this health-care plan, so it is great to see them so active. greta: not that there is such a thing as a typical protester, but i have such a fixed idea. it is someone who does not normally tend to be a little bit older. >> one of the reasons this has thrown the obama administration off of their game a little bit him is that they think the people who protest are liberals, and -- off of their game a little bit is that they think the people to protest are liberals. but they have not been that politically active. a lot of them are the potential ross perot voters that we saw in 1992. greta: you think of protests as, if they do not send me towards." now move to be interrogations out of the cia, it seems, into the white house, although over the last 48 hours, we have that a lot of different answers about and who will be running this. it is a critical issue, and they handled in many ways reminiscent of the way they handled, the guantánamo decision, where they make a major announcement without being prepared with how they are going to handle it. greta: switching gears, the health-care debate. what do you think about it? >> they have put the president out there, and he has got a lot of rhetoric about being able to keep your own insurance and your costs going down, but the american people are seeing that the reality does not match the rhetoric, and people are very concerned, and i think there are going to have to make a tough choice about whether they are going to ram things through if that is not good for the american people have with only democratic votes. greta: i had a different view of this.

you said the reality. i do not know how we can have a reality because this bill is so confusing. i know they are sort of general principles, but i cannot figure it out. and if they carry it out, to what cost? we are fighting over something because, it is strange, he is incomprehensible. >> the president is trying to push this legislation through and singing this is not my bill in the same way he seems to be saying is not my interrogations and not my investigations, but he is the president, so -- the president is trying to push this registration through and saying this is not my bill. in the meantime, he ought to stop making assertions about what is going to happen before he has even read any of the legislation. greta: i think they all need to do some reading. anyway, liz, thank you. coming up, you may want to cover

[captioning made possible by fox news channel] captioned by the national captioning institute --www.ncicap.org-- greta: there is news tonight in the investigation that is shocking the nation. something was l inside the neighbor of phillip garrido's property. -- there was something found inside the property. it may be a bone fragment. he is accused of holding jaycee dugard for 18 years until she was freed. he allegedly raped her over and over. he has two children with her. this is a brand photograph of their two daughters, now 11 and 15 years old. of course, we have alerted their faces, to protect their privacy, and the girls were raised inside the tents and sheds in the backyard. they rarely left the house and

did not go to school. why were police looking in the backyard. -- looking in the backyard? could he be a murderer? why are they looking in the neighbor's yard? >> they are looking in the neighbor's yard to try to connect him with any number of unsolved homicides from the 1990's. they brought in cadaver dogs yesterday, and they discovered what they described yesterday as a single bone fragment. they said that back to the laboratory to test it to see if it may have been a human bone. the ball was in the neighbor's yard, but there was a time a few years ago when he had access to the yard. there was nobody living there, and he was known to stay there. the neighbor is not a suspect, just mr. garrido. greta: is there some suspicion that he may be involved in the murder of prostitutes?

are there any unsolved murders linked to them? >> there are anywhere from one to 14 cases that may be linked to him. the one we know for sure his a 15-year-old girl, and her mother has said that detectives have been in contact with her. it was a 15-year-old girl whose body was found at a recycling center. there are also three prostitutes whose bodies were found in a ditch in 1988 and 1999 that investigators are looking at, and there are seven unsolved prostitute murders from the 1990's, and, again, it is speculation that he is involved, and then there are also three missing girls, girls who went missing shortly after garrido was released in 1998, so these could be just old, unsolved cases that police are taking a new look at. greta: what is with his wife? for some reason, the idea that

he has this white hanging around, and now she is part of it -- he has his wife hanging around, and now, she is a part of it -- what is with her? >> she was described as a robot who would take orders and do what ever he told her. what the family dynamic was behind closed doors, i think we would all like to know about that. greta: i understand his father is speaking out? >> yes, his opposite this afternoon that he believes his son is a murder -- his father this afternoon spoke out that he believes his son is a murderer. he believes he killed those prostitutes. greta: he is safe from jill bennett was a heartwarming story, which is, of course, appalling -- he was singing from jail but it was a heartwarming story. -- he was saying from jail, that it was a heartwarming story.

and how to they -- do they describe it? one neighbor made a call one time, and the police showed up, and the police do not investigate very far. is that the scene? >> yes, there was one neighbor in particular that was very suspicious of him. she called the police to say that there were people living in the backyard and just that there was weird things going on and that he had a sexual compulsion. that is what the sheriff came out but did not go into the backyard, although he could have. the deputy could have searched without a warrant. that is what the sheriff has apologized for, thinking that they may have found jaycee then. go ahead? you're saying? >greta: the allegations and would have been 15 years instead of 18 years, and i understand that three years is a long time, but it was still horrible at 15

there is still roughly 10,000 homes that are said to be in danger due to the fire. there are 53 structures lost, many of them homes, at least 21 that we know of. i am in one neighborhood. behind me, you may see a glow. they have been battling the fire, trying to get it from reaching more promise. this fire spread very quickly overnight -- try to get it from reaching more -- trying to get it from reaching more homes. two firefighters lost their lives yesterday when their vehicle rolled down the hillside because they had lost his ability to to the smoke. again, right now, -- because they had lost their ability to see through the smoke.
