barack obama is trying to take this country so far left that it is out of the mainstream. this is on substance. >> he has not bought into it. sean: that is all the time we have. as always, thank you. we will be with you tomorrow night. thank you for being with us. greta: tonight, israel's prime minister blasts the united nations right between the eyes, slamming them for letting iran's prime minister ahmadinejad speak to them. -- iran's president ahmadinejad speak to them. and with health care, is this how you want to get health care? rammed through? dick morris goes on the record in a moment, and do some senators think you are stupid? but first, what was the you and thinking? cordially thinking some countries -- what was the u.n.
10:01 pm
thinking? he blasted the audience with this question -- why were you listening in the first place? >> those who gave this holocaust denier a hearing, i say on behalf of my people, the jewish people, and decent people everywhere, have you no shame? have you no decency? i am here six decades after the holocaust. you give legitimacy to a man who denies the murder of 6 million jews, while promising to wipe out the state of israel, the state of the jews? greta: not long after that, venezuelan president hugo chavez took to the podium. last time he was at the podium at the united nations, he called george bush the "devil," but
10:02 pm
today, he was totally different. he said that the smell of sulfur was replaced by the smell of topix, and he praised president obama. -- the smell of hope. >> many people are very confused about your friendship with president ahmadinejad. he denies the holocaust, one of the course of the 20th century -- horrors of the 20th-century, killing people on the streets a tehran. could you say something about your relationships of people understand what you're doing? >> where did you come from? >> i work for fox news. >> fox news?
10:03 pm
the stupid people from fox news. not you, of course, not you, of course not. the question is a decision. your mind has many confusions. >> yesterday, we heard ahmadinejad again denying the holocaust. my mind is fine. and, sir, we saw the pictures coming from tehran, the people in the streets of tehran. my mind is fine. >> iraq? the people in iraq? [unintelligible]
10:04 pm
criticizing obama because he is black? poison. you say nothing about iraq. you find the truth. i m&a friend of my friend. -- i am a friend. greta: former ambassador to the united nations john bolton joins us. >> how are you? greta: very well. i was listening to benjamin netanyahu, and it was a very piercings speech. he talked about his wife's family being completely walked out and ahmadinejad, and then he thanked the people who got up and left, but what about the
10:05 pm
people who even walked in that door to begin with? what about them? >> it looks like 10 or 11 delegations walked out, and that means that 180 delegations stayed there, and i think what this shows is just what the united nations is all about. people do not like it. they complain about it. but on the other hand, you have president obama as saying how much more of our foreign policy we will run through the united nations. the face of ahmadinejad, the face of hugo chavez, the influence they have in that organization, and that is the organization that president obama wants to use to help us implement policy for the u.s. well, good luck with that. greta: it was not a surprise what he was going to say, not a real shocker for him to say that he wants to wipe israel off of the map, so should we have done what canada did prove to have our delegation skip it? >> yes, absolutely -- should we
10:06 pm
have done what canada did? have our delegation skip it? >> yes, absolutely. greta: i thought it was appointed, especially when he talked about his family. he talked about how the u.n. did not come to the defense of israel, which is really is had been targeted, and rockets had blown up their houses -- when it israelis had been targeted -- when the israelis had been targeted. >> showing it plans for the concentration camp. that is in contrast to ahmadinejad denying there was a holocaust -- showing the plans. making the case for israel saying we will not stand idly by while in iran prepares a nuclear holocaust, so, obviously, he did not deal specifically with what israel would do, what military steps they would take, but he is pointing at just how misguided
10:07 pm
the regime in iran is, and that is implicitly lay the basis to say we are not quite have this happen to the israeli state, what happened to the 6 million jews in europe. greta: deciding what to do about iran and its ambitions with nuclear weapons -- all right, now, mr. hugo chavez, i do not know, he makes me laugh, when he says that he lasts about fox news. i am glad he is watching. i do not know if he is in the right demographic, but i am glad he is watching. he is causing serious problems to latin america and other people around the world, is he not? >> exactly. i once heard president bush called hugo chavez castro without brains. he is a weird human being. he is both a f andool nool and a nave at the same time, and this
10:08 pm
is the influence that hugo chavez is trying to influence there, and off throughout the hemisphere -- and all throughout the hemisphere. at the same time, he is purchasing weapons, going around, talking about a peaceful, " quote-unquote, nuclear program. we have got to take this man more seriously. greta: you mention honduras, and we go full circle, because in the "miami herald," the president was ousted, zelaya, claims, and this is according to the newspaper, that he has a sore throat from toxic gases, and israeli mercenaries are torturing him with high frequency radiation. this is bizarre. >> this is our man. this is the man our administration is backing. too bad he could not come to new york. he could have given a speech, as
10:09 pm
well. this is a demonstration, i think, as to how and i eat this administration is, putting all of our faith in this -- how naïve this administration is, putting all of our faith in this zelaya. they think that the effort to prevent him from perpetuating itself in power was the right thing to do. we are not on this side of a legitimate government in honduras. we are on the same side of daniel ortego and hugo chavez. what is wrong with that picture? >greta: and hugo chavez says is really mercenaries are out to kill him. -- says israeli mercenaries are out to kill him. >> i do not think the administration understood what they are getting into, but now they're in a situation that is detrimental to honduras and embarrassing to the united states. greta: when we were down there, they said that the travel
10:10 pm
advisory is killing their livelihood, the tourism industry, and we are cutting their throats financially in taking the position that we have, but they just want them to go down and take a look around, and maybe they will and that the position will change. >> -- thank you. greta: thank you. timothy joseph russert, the father of tim russert, died at the age of 85 with his family by his side, and he was immortalized in his son's book. he was especially proud have a decent a man and he was. funeral arrangements are pending. and up next, our government gets caught with its pants down. chances are, they do not want to tell you, but we are going to tell you, and it involves our government and acorn.

[captioning made possible by fox news channel] captioned by the national captioning institute --www.ncicap.org-- greta: i give up. what took so long? the treasury department has now agreed to investigate the group acorn, coming at the request of
10:14 pm
republicans, but why did they have to be pushed into doing it by a congressman and a senator? canning and your money and not even bothering to keep track of it? -- handing out your money? joining us is steve moore, a writer for a "the wall street journal." >> this story broke one week ago. one of the most outrageous aspects of this story of acorn is that it is almost laughable, that the irs was basically giving funds to acorn to train people had to deal with, you know, their tax forms. that would be like putting bernie madoff in charge of the justice department's, or bonnie and clyde in charge of the bank's -- in charge of the justice department, or bonnie and clyde in charge of the banks. they should not have tax-exempt
10:15 pm
status. acorn is an umbrella group of something like to one organizations. some of them are lobbying groups, political action committees, 501(c)(3) groups, but the vast amount of what they do is not providing homes to the homeless or feeding the hungry. it is over political action. that is not tax deductible. greta: you focus on that, but i do not even get to that point, because to me, i think, why is it taking two gusti teenagers under the age of 25 to do this -- two goofy teenagers? why are they not checking it out? first of all, they are right. everybody jumping on this weeks ago, and of course, during the election, there were a lot of irregularities that should have made them suspicious, but they must be doing this with all of our money.
10:16 pm
>> i have an explanation for all of this. greta: ok, a good. >> it turns out that acorn is like an octopus in this town. it has tentacles. the reason the congress and the agencies like the irs have been so slow to drop them as a contractor is everybody was embarrassed. they are totally embarrassed. greta: while we are focusing on acorn and whether or not they ripped us off, i would like to see geithner and everybody, clean up the treasury department -- who has a responsibility to monitor this money, and who did not do it? let's get rid of that person. >> they just passed a stimulus bill that gives several hundred million dollars to acorn. greta: that is an economic philosophy that they believe will fix the economy, and they meet the right, and they may be wrong. -- they may be right, and they may be wrong. somebody in the treasury

10:18 pm
supposed to. >> the last thing i will say about this subject. when you look at the votes in the house and senate that have been held in recent days to de- fund -- it is amazing how many senators -- greta: our viewers should be writing senator durbin. >> here is a company that was caught red handed, and he is still defending them. greta: i do not get senator durban, i really do not, on this. >> the folks who voted yesterday not to oppose the bill. greta: we need a do over on that one. thank you, steve. get ready. health-care reform is coming. do not like it? tough. is that what the white house is telling you? we just found a big, big clue. dick morris is here. and remember transparency? that is what you promised during the last election. it turns out that may have been a joke on you.
10:19 pm
10:22 pm
greta: are democrats about to ram through health-care reform no matter what? white house chief of staff rahm emanuel says it will be passed by thanksgiving, and the bill will be bipartisan, even if republicans do not vote for it. now, wait a second. how can it be bipartisan if republicans do not vote for it, too? joining us is the author of the book "catastrophe," dick morris. i meant what i said more by the way they were dressed and that acorn is just so ridiculous in falling for it, but they are certainly ambitious and have done it, and i have said my
10:23 pm
piece, and i apologize for it. all right, now, is there bill bipartisan? >> of course, it is not. there is a slight chance that one, olympia snowe, will sign it, and rahm emanuel said this will pass by thanksgiving, and i am not particularly shirt this turkey will pass by thanksgiving. -- i am not particularly shiure. greta: i guess he is thinking that if some republican ideas were in this bill, that would reflect by partisanship. >> you have to find out what rahm emanuel means by calling it bipartisan. the question is whether the people that are being gutted in this bill, the people who are being hit over the head and clobbered, speak out. as this bill has become better
10:24 pm
known and has been in print and publicized, more and more is coming out about it. first we learned that half of $1 trillion, half of $1 trillion, would be cut from medicare, a 10% cut in medicare, the only social program this administration is cutting, and the elderly are getting horribly hurt by this, and then we learned that the uninsured, the people who are supposedly getting this benefit, are going to have to cough up to 15% to 20% of their money before the subsidy kicks in. affordable says that is affordable. that does not sound very affordable to me. and then, the coup the gras. the average american family will have to pay a tax of 40% on their current health-insurance premiums. right now, the threshold will be $23,000, and by 2016, the congressional budget office says
10:25 pm
that because of an average health-insurance policy, so instead of $25,000, you will have to pay $35,000, 10,000 dollars extra courtesy of president obama, and when the elderly did smart about this and start yelling and calling congress -- get smart about this and start yelling and calling congress, they can kill this bill, but right now, and i sense a complacency. i think people think this whole thing has already been defeated, and there is not the energy level that there needs to be to stop this monstrosity from passing. greta: as always, i am sort of one beat off on this, and i will tell you something that distresses me. one of the ways this bill is going to be paid for is that it is estimated that there are five fedor dollars billion worth of fraud that we are going to clean up -- there are $500 billion north of fraud. if there is that amount of
10:26 pm
fraud, why are we looking for it now? why did we not get the jump on it and start cleaning it up before? why is not henry waxman having hearings on fraud, or any other democratic chairman? why are we waiting for thanksgiving? we will pay with this -- for this with fraud money? >> a great point, greta care. these cuts i have dealt with in great bcare in my book "catastrophe." a lot of this will be in the medicare advantage program, and one-third of the elderly voluntarily sign up for this because they like the idea of one agency who knows all about their health care to coordinate their treatment. the other part will be cutting reimbursement rates to doctors. now, those reimbursement rates are scheduled to be cut by 21% this year. this cut will be on top of that, so if you are now born to a
10:27 pm
doctor who is getting $65 for the office visit for an elderly person that they would get $35 and then maybe $30, how much time are they going to spend with patients? what kind of medical care is that going to be? and just for a rule of thumb, we have spent the amount they are going to cut over 10 years, and this whole year's spending was taken out. greta: i have got to go, and for all the people who complain we do not have democratic members of the finance committee on this show, just so you know, any democratic member of the finance committee is invited. so i do not want to read any complaints about that. i have got to go. -- i do not want to have any complaints about that. yes? >> they can go to dickmorris.com to find out more.

10:32 pm
i hope everyone in america is watching right now, because we are really drilling down on that. greta: we want to see the bill. why is it that -- and i should say that senator lincoln from arkansas wants to put it on the internet, and republicans do, but why will the democrats not put it on the internet now? >> that is one of the most interesting debates i have participated in in congress, because we were told that it would be confusing. greta: that we are stupid? >> yes, and that they would have to put into plain language, and i think there are people that understand the need for that, but i think everybody understands that you need to know what the bill says before you vote on it, and it is remarkable to me because although there was every effort in the world to say, well, we really do not need to do this now, it is intuitively obvious to the american public that we should have the bill before us
10:33 pm
before we vote on it. greta: it was pitched to us that we would have transparency, so we got the idea that if you are going to change the economy for the better, i hope, at least we could see what is going on as it is happening so in case we do not like what is going on, we could say, "hey, senator, how about this?" >> they cannot even give us an adequate score on this bill as to what it will cost until they get actual legislative language, and yet, we still have resistance to allowing us to see it. it would have said before we vote on this we should have the language of the bill on the internet for 72 hours and a score from cbo. greta: do you have a copy of it? >> of the bill? greta: morneau. -- no. >> no, because it does not exist. there are amendments.
10:34 pm
256 pages of conceptual language, which you and i both know, when translated into bill language, will probably be 1000 or 2000 pages. greta: well, who wrote to be conceptual language? >> it was primarily written by the majority staff of the finance committee. greta: so not your staff? the democratic staff? is that we are told is on the internet right now? the conceptual? >> yes, i believe the conceptual is on the internet now, but think of this. if you are going to sell a car, and somebody tells you that they will show you a conceptual design of the car, but they cannot show you the car or show you what it is until they build, but they want you to make a purchasing agreement now. greta: what about this package? there is no written bill anyplace? >> no, there is not. greta: so we have this conceptual package, and it will be agreed upon or not agree
10:35 pm
upon, and this 2000 pages will bloom from it? who is going to do that? >> that will be done by the lawyers who work, and they will do it once they get the conceptual language, and then they will try to put into words to see if they can make the legislative language match the concepts. greta: we just want to see it, and we hope you get to see it before you vote on it. >> thank you. we are raising heck. and we will continue to do so. i really do hope that everywhere in america, people not only pay attention to this but that they speak out. people paying attention to this and speaking out have been labeled un-american or radical. i do not think so. i think they should speak out, and they should be commended for paying attention and speaking out. greta: senator, thank you, sir. >> thank you. greta: well, the health-care battle is getting even rougher. check this out.

hurry up and get this done. the rest of us are saying wait a minute. this is a big deal. it affects lives, so we need to do it right. sometimes, when we tried to get something fleshed out to understand it fully, to ask questions -- when we try to get something fleshed out, he tries to shut us up, basically, and he gaveled me even before i had a chance to make an argument on an important point. he thought we had a vote on the senate floor and we had to hurry up. that was not true, so he needs to calm down and let the senators debate this said the american people can understand what is in this. greta: ok, you are a signer of a letter to the secretary of hhs. you want a gag order lifted. what is it that you say that she is gagging? >> she is the secretary of health and human services and has jurisdiction over the entity that controls medicare and
10:38 pm
medicaid, and what they have done is send a letter to all of the insurance companies and say, "you cannot write to your beneficiaries and tell them what is in this legislation pending before congress and suggest that they might want to contract their representatives in congress and tell them what they think about that." obviously, that is an expression of free speech. these organizations do not lose their rights to free speech just because they are enrolling medicare beneficiaries, so to speak. they said they should immediately cease and desist any such communication, and you will not engage in it in the future unless you check with us first, and that is wrong. greta: so you sent a letter to secretary sebelius as saying that is wrong? >> yes, that is a violation of the law, and one of the things that we said is that if you do not do that, then the senate is not going to be able to act on important nominees.
10:39 pm
greta: is getting hot. they are making all sorts of moves and getting mad. -- it is getting hot. >> a good, regress debate needs to be had. you do not need to cut people off -- a good, a vigorous debate -- a good, but vigorous debate -- good, vigorous debate needs to be had. greta: i know you want to take a look at the bill, but so do some taxpayers. i want to take a look at it. what is their thinking about why we cannot see it? i think one of the things is that they think we will not understand it. >> that is right. they made two arguments. first, you will not understand it, it is legal language. we could do a better job of writing it so people could understand it better, but secondly, they say it might take
10:40 pm
two weeks. first of all, it does not have to take two weeks, and olympia snowe and i said if they started right now, during the legislative language as we go round rather than waiting, we could have it. the reason this is important is not just so we have the actual language of the bill to read but so the congressional budget office has a chance to figure out how much this all costs and will have the actual language, and the head of the budget office or wrote to us and said that the actual legislative language could significantly change his estimates of the costs -- the head of the budget office wrote us. until we put it in actual awards, he does not know exactly how much it costs, it -- until we put in the actual words, he does not know. greta: up next, it is getting bloody in texas. the governor's race has just started, and is already really
