"fox & friends" starts now. >> we've called the network. normally we do three hours. we actually need five hours for today's program. >> that's a fox news alert for them if they're up this early. huge show coming up today. mira and paul sorvino, daughter and father together will be cooking up a storm for us as well as glenn beck will be back on the curvy couch. >> rick santorum says i want to be president. i'll say it again with you guys. third most powerful person in the senate for a while and he believes america is ready for him to take the top job. >> rick harrison, you know that great show about pawn kings, gretchen and i have brought in some priceless stuff and he'll try to affix a price to it.

6:02 am
and yesterday, andrew brikebart released these photos and apparently has an x-rated one of him as well and mr. weiner said too much. i'm going on have a press conference. that's crazy. >> that x-rated one is not releasing. he will. but he's not going to release it just now. this is a snippet or snippets from the press conference yesterday. the alarming press conference, if you were watching it, when weiner said this. >> last friday night i tweeted a photograph of myself that i intended to send as a direct message as part of a joke to a woman in seattle. once i realized i had posted it to twitter, i panicked. i took it down and said i had been hacked and i then continued with that story to stick to that story which was a hugely regrettable mistake. i've exchanged messages and photos of an explicit nature with about six women over the last three years. for the most part, these communications took place before my marriage though some have
6:03 am
sadly took place after. to be clear, the picture was of me and i sent it. i'm deeply sorry for the pain this has caused my wife and our family. >> it's just so amazing. he spent the last 10 days yelling at people calling them jackasses and dismissing people who said why are you being -- why are you allowing or why are you following so many young women out of all of your choices of people to follow, constituents out of your -- these people aren't even constituents. they're out of your network. he's yelling at reporters. he's being condescending in their comments. bret baier says i found -- i talked to somebody who is very familiar with twitter and says they could find out in five minutes who went into your account and who sent this. how dare you do that? you got to be kidding me. >> you remember the original accusation is the account had been hacked. when he found out that falsely accusing somebody of hacking your account is a federal crime, the terminology changed to prank
6:04 am
but then -- and his explanation yesterday was as many people who are involved in cover-ups, i didn't want to disappoint my wife and my family and i was trying to keep them out of there. will there be an investigation now? remember when nancy pelosi was speaker of the house she made the call for having the cleanest congress ever. some people call that into question when she was actually speaker but she stepped up to the plate immediately yesterday and said this. i'm deeply disappointed and saddened about this situation for anthony's wife, his family, his staff and his constituents. iep calling for an ethics committee investigation to determine whether any official resources were used for any other violation of house rules occurred. >> he said he saw nancy pelosi right before he went on and at which time he was going to go forward with it. word is they don't get along anyway and she's going to move ahead with an ethics investigation. don't see a republican in sight. this is democrat on democrat trying to reign in somebody who is clearly off the rails. >> so nancy pelosi and company, they're going to have this
6:05 am
ethics investigation and there's already information out there that is very damning to mr. weiner which could imperil him from keeping the job. for instance, according to -- and it's all over -- it's all out there today. a 40-year-old blackjack dealer by the name of lisa weiss apparently has had a nine month on-line sexting relationship with him and in addition to receiving 220 dirty messages, essentially, apparently, weiner used a government phone to have phone sex with her. and she knows that it's a government phone because after he called her, she called him back, there was a recorded message. this was a -- an outgoing government phone. >> that is absolutely key. >> but i got a feeling, folks, this is just the tip of the iceberg. >> there's another woman who has now so far spoken out and she speaks to sean hannity for tonight. last night she did the interview. we'll show you a 30-second clip.
6:06 am
this is megan brussard from texas. >> what that photo of his private areas came in, you know, you're a 26-year-old girl, this is a 46-year-old congressman recently married. what did you think then? >> i just thought at the time there's got to be something. there's way more girls out there. there's not just me. there's nothing so special about me that there's a lot more girls. what i thought at the time, this is something that's regular, he's done all the time. he's comfortable. >> tonight you're going to hear more from megan broussard on has not's show at 9:00. she came forward because she realized more pictures of her could come out and i'm going to beat everybody to the punch and i'm going to come out and control the situation and that's exactly what she did. >> i think how do you sum this whole story up, sexting, a badded whbad idea. we worry about this for our

kids. it's a huge adult problem. >> after what we've heard him say over the last 10 days, how can anybody trust what he says again? he lied to his family, he lied to reporters. he lied to his staff and his colleagues. and for him to say, ok, i'm going to be completely cooperative with this investigation, do you believe that? >> what do you think? do you think this guy can survive in the u.s. house of representatives? is it just a matter of time? e-mail us, friends at foxnews.com. or twitter us, i dare you. >> you remember congressman leak put one shirtless shot and speaker boehner says you ought to get going and you're gone. is this worse? >> let's move on to the other -- there he is right there. >> that seems so tame compared to -- >> again, we don't know if there was anything else related to that story but this is all that was ever exposed and then he quit that afternoon before there was any other discussion about anything. let's talk about the president now because he gave an interview yesterday with regard to those dismal job numbers that came out, the unemployment number kicked up to 9.1% recently and then also the may job numbers,
6:08 am
only 54,000 jobs created in the private sector in the month of may. his chief financial guy on the sunday shows said it was a blip and it didn't mean we were heading back into a recession. yesterday, the president gave the interview and had this as an explanation. >> we were on the verge of going into a great depression. the auto example was one example of what could have happened in the financial sector and what could have happened in a whole bunch of areas. that obviously doesn't make you feel better if you don't have a job right now. and so to those who are still unemployed, my main message to them is every day, i get up and ask myself, what more can i be doing? so what they should know is they have a president on their side. >> and also got an economic team that's left the building including austin goolsbee says i'm gone, i'll be out of here soon and you have everybody else who choreographed this except timothy geitner who has gone on to other things and we're left with a mountain of debt and now

twitter, i panicked and took it down and said i was hacked. i continued with that story, to stick to that story which was a hugely regrettable mistake. i have exchanged messages and photos of an explicit nature with six women over the last three years. for the most part these communications took place before my marriage, but some have sadly took place after. to be clear, the picture was of me and i sent it. i am deeply sorry for the pain this has caused my wife and our family. >> gretchen: it's such a situation when you're a parent. you wonder how do we teach our kids to not make these mistakes and sexting has become so popular with kids and now we're seeing adults make these mistakes. you got to wonder why. that's the big question, is it a power thing? what is it? or there are so many more people doing this that we don't know about? >> steve: exactly right. we talked about kids sexting,
8:03 am
but how many spouses are sexting to various people? i am so happy that his wife was not standing up there like mrs. spitser where she listened to her husband talk about how he liked hookers. it would be crazy to see his wife of less than one year behind him as he talked about having ongoing relations with at least a half dozen women over the last three years. >> brian: let's talk about why he's keeping his job. he wants to. what else is he going to do? nancy pelosi, who got the word about this situation from anthony wiener before and there was one report that she wanted him to resign and he's not. >> steve: she still wants him to. >> gretchen: i am deeply saddened and disappointed about the situation for his wife, family and constituents. i am calling for an ethics investigation to determine whether any official resources were used or any other violations of house rules occurred. so they're going to have an ethics investigation, a subcommittee come up with conclusions and have recommendations and then bring it up to a floor vote, if it gets that far.

from an expert in human decomposition who says his tests prove human remains were in casey anthony's car, but the defense trying to debunk him. >> you are not a chemist? >> correct. >> you are not an analytical chemist? >> correct. >> you're not a biochemist? >> correct. >> and therefore, you really can't testify as to the chemistry and the make-up of things of which you have no experience. correct? >> gretchen: he's the anthony family's attorney and is my guest right now. good morning to you. >> good morning. >> gretchen: this is really groundbreaking as far as any kind of trial has been. right? this is the first time that this specific kind of scientific evidence has been allowed in the courtroom? >> correct. it's like the dna that we all have come to rely on being used for the first time. >> gretchen: so tell us, as easily as you can for those of
8:17 am
us who are not scientist, exactly what is the technique? >> well, certainly the technique is analysis of the gas compounds that are emitted from a decomposing body as it relates to surrounding air. so apparently the doctor has done several studies regarding this and he believes he's been able to track down and analyze the types of gas of a decomposing body will emit. >> gretchen: this would be groundbreaking. whether or not the jury will believe it. i mean, i guess that's the central question here because many people are saying that this could be like the o. j. simpson glove moment where the prosecutors thought, well, for sure we'll have him try it on and then it didn't fit. it had a reverse reaction. what do you think about that? >> i think in this circumstance, they're really going to look at the totality of all of the evidence that's being presented and not just the gas itself
8:18 am
because he also has a hair band sample, plus all the actions of miss anthony, the defendant. when you look at the totality of the circumstances, i think that's what the jury would be analyzing versus just this one particular issue. >> gretchen: so were you sitting in the courtroom to hear this testimony yesterday? >> i was there in the afternoon yesterday listening to the cross-examination by mr. baes. >> gretchen: in your analysis, was this effective? if you had been sitting on the jury, would you have bought this? >> it's always difficult to know what a jury is thinking, but it certainly an eye opener to say the least. i think the science is difficult to understand, but i think dr. voss did a pretty good job and i think the prosecution did a pretty good job in flushing out what needed to be said. i think mr. baez did a relatively good job at the beginning of his cross-examination and then kind of went south from there.
8:19 am
but i have no idea what the jury is thinking. >> gretchen: exactly. mark, the attorney upon the an ton -- anthony family, thank you very much. how this piece of jewelry saved the life of one man trying to protect his wife. and jeff bridges known for going off beat. >> you're mr. la bowsky. i'm the dude, so that's what you call me. >> gretchen: what's the dude? with virginia governor bob mcdonald. that's an interesting pairing. we'll explain it to you coming up. i'm chef michael,

8:24 am
watch. >> look around you. one in four kids in the u.s. faces hunger. it's not always easy to see the signs, but in this land of plenty, there are kids that don't know where they will get their next meal. join share our strength atd into network and take the pledge to end childhood hunger here in america. >> brian: now people have and he's teaming up with virginia governor bob mcdonald to unveil the new programs. joining us to talk about this is governor bob mcdonald and jeff bridges. welcome to both of you guys. thank you for joining us. >> thank you for having us. >> brian: first off, i was shocked at this. you have 16.7 american kids, nearly one in four living in households that don't have access to enough nutritional food. jeff, how did you become aware of this? >> well, i started working with the hunger issue back in '83 and originally -- ending hunger internationally, and then my organization, the end hunger
8:25 am
network, we shifted to hunger here in america because it was starting to raise its head here in our country. we figured we couldn't be telling other people about ending hunger while we had the problem right here. >> brian: so virginia signed up five states to help. right, governor? >> yeah. we're kicking off our program today and secretary of agriculture, tom vilsack will be at an school in arlington, virginia this afternoon at 2:00 o'clock to kick off the campaign. we're real excited a public-private partnership between corporate sponsors, food bank of virginia, and jeff's network and sos will all be together to focus on increasing access to existing federal programs. we're not expanding it. we're making greater awareness so kids can use after school programs and summer programs and backpack programs to be able to get the food nutrition they need. >> brian: jeff, it's interesting because kids look forward to summer. when they go to school, they're guaranteed food because the programs are there in place.
8:26 am
but in summer, it becomes a little bit more hard. correct? >> that's right. we've got 21 million kids in our country who can count on three or price reduced lunches at school. but during the summer time, for the same kids, only 3 million kids are taking advantage of the free summer meals. and that's what one of the reasons i'm here is to talk about that and to encourage families to know about these summer meals that are available. >> brian: yeah. this is a program that you can put into place and you can afford to pay for, governor. jeff, you picked a good state to get involved with because governor, you're in a surplus. in a country that's having trouble, having to cut back and worried about our deficit, what's virginia doing to get in fiscally good shape? >> we made a lot of tough choices last year and cut things we thought were less important so we could fund the priorities.
8:27 am
we focused a lot on job creation. that's what honestly has driven the revenue increases this year. we'll have our second surplus this year. we think no matter what the economic climate, for young kids to go hungry is just a shame. virginia is one of the most prosperous states in the union, and yet 219,000 virginia kids are rated as food insecure, at risk of going hungry. that's just a shame. so we really want to ratchet up the focus, the awareness and access through existing programs that really won't cost the state much at all. a lot of private donations are going into this, to jeff's network and sos and we think it's going to be a great kickoff today. >> brian: governor, be honest. when you look at jeff and you're very close to him right now, couldn't this guy slide right into washington seamlessly, with that beard, that suit on. that guy looks like a politician! [ laughter ] >> but he doesn't act like one. he's a straight shooter. i'm looking forward to teaming up with him 'cause this is a nonpartisan issue that we can all agree on.
8:28 am
>> brian: all right. thanks for coming out of hollywood for us, jeff. governor mcdonnel, always nice to have you. thanks. >> thank you. >> brian: meanwhile, straight ahead, anthony wiener admits he lied and that goes against the house rules. but some say the main stream media could come to the rescue and actually save his political career. peter johnson, jr., one man, three names, will explain. and khloe and kourtney kardashian are getting final touchups before heading to the curvy couch. they'll be tweeting about their appearance here. a brand-new season on the hit reality show and kim's engaged to a new jersey net. we'll find out the details. ♪ birds flying high
