"hannity" starts right here, right now. there are a number of breaking developments on the race for the white house. there is an accusation of an alleged inappropriate relationship involving herman cain. a georgia woman told fox 5 she'd had an exmarital relationship with cain more than 13 years. let's take a look. >> i'm not proud. i didn't want to come out with this. i did not. he made it very intriguing. it was fun. it was something that took me away from my sort of hum drum life at that time. and it was exciting. >> she says he gave her his book and he wrote miss g you've made a big difference. stay focused as you pursue your next destination.

she says he would fly her to cities where he was speaking and lavish her with gifts. we asked for corroborating evidence she pointed us to her cell phone, one name, herman cain. showed bill that's included 61 phone calls or text messages to or from this number starting with 678 saying it's his private cell phone. and moments before that report aired herman cain had this to say. >> do you have a 13 year affair with this woman? >> no. i did not. >> did you know her 13 years? >> yes. but dinot have an affair, okay? until i see and hear what is going to be accusations are going to be made, let's move on. but i acknowledge that i knew the woman. i ak knowledge i've known her but the accusation i had a 13 dwreer affair with her? no.

>> do you suspect she has evidence? e mails, letters? gifts? anything that she will be able to bring to try to confirm this? >> no. >> and on sunday, former speaker of the house newt gingrich picked up endorsement of the new hampshire union leader newspaper. the publicist explained his decision right here on fox news. take a look. >> we think he's ahead of the class and showed that throughout the years and we think he did well back in the 93 republicans for power and we think he's the innovative guy. i don't think this changing out obama next year is going to do it. >> sean: the former speaker received praise from an old rival. listen to this. >> it's not been a traditional sort of charisma. he thinks about the stuff all the time. he's articulate and tries to think of a conservative version of an idea that will

solve a legitimate problem. i think he's doing well and people are hungry for ideas that make some sense. >> sean: joining me now is the former advisor of the guy you just heard from and dick morris is back with us. good to see you good to be here. >> sean: let's start with your former boss. >> i think he's right. i think it's similar to the way clinton surged in 92. sort of the democrat, author of new ideas. >> two years into this administration? >> no. no. campaigned on that. we had an ad. end welfare as we know it. >> sean: six bills pass bid republican house. six of them. he was forced to because gingrich knew in many ways. >> you asked about the gingrich thing. he's surging based on new and interesting ideas. clinton did that in 92.

i think that he's, i think that clinton is right about that. >> is it that the count very hungry for an intellectual alternative to obama? >> you're looking at how many debates can you go through and see one guy be the brightest person in the room? most articulate with the most creative ideas without at some point voting for him? i think he's outlasted everyone. he gave that answer that mcveigh succeeded? that was fabulous, put ron paul in his place. >> sean: what about talking heads? i guess conral consensus is that gingrich is going to mess up. there is going to be a misstep here. and is this a case where maybe they think he will be easy than romney be careful what

you wish for? >> yes. i think they believe romney would be harder to defeat. not that he would be, but that is what they think. i believe newt is not going to self destruct. i believe it's premature to say this is going to be a romney-gingrich fight. it could well be that but look at the voters. they're five buckets here, economic conservatives and republican establishment there for romney. national security for gingrich but the tea party and evangelicallals zront a dog in that fight. evangelicallals won't support gingrich because he's down played those issues. the tea party thinks gingrich is too establishment. you cannot count out at this point herman cain and michelle bachmann.

this is an old time scandal. there is no sex harassment. so, he had an affair. >> sean: you're saying this woman on top of two weeks now hurt herman cain in polls i think it created doubt in peoples' mind whether or not quote, another shoe drops. >> no credibility. she's a serial litigateor facing sexual harassment suits, she's unemploymented. she's, there is no credibility. the fact that they were friends and had text messages? so what? i don't think this is going to be serious. i do not think herman cane has been fatally damaged. i don't think anyone can watch those two. >> sean: how does michelle bachmann come back? why isn't rick santorum popped

up? >> he's very good but has the same problem that he's fighting a black and a woman. they're so interesting as options but bachmann is so impressive. and cain so impressive taking on to domestic policy. you can't take 40% of the republican electorate and say they're just going to go for thachl they mai. saying cain too damaged and bachmann we can't go for. and i did a book on my dog. he gos to washington and seize sights. after i called ron paul a nut his people posted they should say negative reviews of the book. you know? my wife and i don't mind tacks but doves does. >> attack for a kid book. >> it's an attempt. i have a petition on my web site now about elainea kagan.

doctrine. he told america get up. >> sean: they weren't lazy or soft. >> didn't think we're the prob problem. they're looking broad. and he held up the truth and the banner of america. weather china, soviet union. how many stories are in this? you know? things are going to change. we knew change was coming. real change is coming. >> when you make comparisons, what could any g.o.p. candidate glean from the way reagan ran his campaign? ear we know obama can't run on his record. they're going to run really negative campaign. they're going to whoever the g.o.p. is spend a billion

dollars doing it. >> unprecedented amounts of money. and you said republicans with. >> there is another similarity. article today pointed out they may avoid white working class. but more can't go to the left. i don't think they can stay on the right. reagan won the right vote. capitolists. they're reagan democrats. key part of the coalition. i think this could be repeated. what i'm looking for is good ideas. we have good ideas. this is america. what are we talking about? >> sean: assess where we are now? front runners at this moment? romney and gingrich. >> well, someone told me three months ago they're both very good in the debate.

i think they've both done a very good job. me, it's become the spokesman to coach. you know? team captain, i'll take that question. he goes after it immediately. >>. >> sean: he's said nothing but nice things about other candidates. he's been very gracious. do you think he's, i asked him. what is the difference between you, then, and today? this was his answer saying number one i've been out of government what? 15 years? i'm a grandfather. i've learned a lot. my faith, he said he discovered his faith. and rediscovering god in america. is he a different man than you saw speak? >> i do. he's on my radio show. and about criticism of paul ryan. and i said you know, you shouldn't have done it. it was terrible. we had a discussion.

the other day he's on and said thanks for that. i learned from that. one thing. i think he needs another occasion to go in front of the american people to talk about sow so called baggage. it's real. and it's tough news. >> sean: does it resonate because he's a grandfather and learned from mistakes? >> i think he can address it. >> sean: welfare reform? balanced budget? >> no. no. i you have this global warming thing. he told me just has to stick that out and other topics. >> sean: i interviewed mitt romney. he's a trusted figure. >> very trusted. >> sean: i suspect i can't get

him to say it, is that he had to adopt more liberal positions to get elected as governor in a blue state. is that more plausible? or maybe he's not as conservative. there is suspicion. >> one thing i've never understood is why people don't say i made a mistake. he should say i was wrong. that is just -- because he was. and those two, it's kind of interesting. with romney you may have a better chance getting more moderates with gingrich he's firing up the base. a lot of the base. i'm getting calls from eves evangelicals saying he seems

genuine about that. >> and there is some idea we asked a lot of questions. he rediscovering god and america talks a lot -- i've known him since 94. i think it's almost coming down now. here is what can happen. someone tops expectations in iowa. or new hampshire it's a new ball game. >> yes. that is right. i was talking to byron north today. >> sean: colleagues. >> yes. colleague. >> no matter where i am. right. right. anyway. he would say i with a around one figure which is very interesting. but yes. i think more reflected. he's come to life in these

it's no surprise much of the focus will be on who is going to challenge president barack obama in november.

however, 2012 could mark republicans taking back the u.s. senate. and among the seats held up for grabs is one held in florida. joining me now is florida congressman connie mack, how are you? >> i'm doing great, how are you? >> sean: i am good. originally you said you're not going get into the senate race. >> that is right. well i'm here tonight, sean, with you to tell you that i am going to run for united states senate because frankly i think the people of florida had had enough. they'd had enough of every time they'd turned around senator nelson is supporting and helping barack obama with barack obama ajend yaf more government. whether is it's helping him with obama care, and senator nelson was there by obama's side. whether stimulus, again,

senator nelson by obama's side to make sure that is passed more spending, more tax increases. you name it, senator nelson has been one of barack obama's go to guys in the senate. people in the state of florida had enough. they don't want us to continue down direction towards greece. they want to see us go towards on the road of prosperity. senator nelson doesn't understand they want someone in the senate believing in them. not someone believing in more government. >> and he voted against banning earmarks and he's been a recipient of the earmarks. people of florida overwhelmingry elected marco rubio in the last election. he is canceling out.

marco rubio's vote every time he goes out there. right? >> that is right. senator nelson doesn't realize this is the state of florida, people of the state of florida don't want awhat they're being served out of washington. and and they want someone up there believing in them. and and there is a standard of business to create jobs not looking towards government and more regulation. we've got businesses starving down here. because we have more government and more government programs coming out of washington, d.c.. it's about time we say to the people in the state of florida, the people of the state of florida we trust you. we're here, with you. we don't want to pass more government regulations that is going to shut you down. we want to stand by your side. they're not hearing. >> sean: florida is going to

be a key state. there are two polls coming ut tonight. head to head. these two polls had to do 34 points respectively. and he's below 40% and said unemployment in florida. housing market in florida. very a lot of friends and i go there a lot. florida has been hit as hard as just about any state in the country. why is florida hit so hard? i know someone owned a house in orlando pays $350,000 for the house, worth $150,000 on the market. >> florida, as you know, florida is a beautiful place. people from all around the country like to come to florida. whether during winter to get out of the, if they're up north or summer time to enjoy beaches. and what we've seened the way

to solve problems is more government. so he tries a stimulus, senator nelson is with him. that doesn't work. they don't realize that is the wrong way to go. look at how to create incentives for small businesses to work hard and create jobs. so they try to double down on another stimulus plan. there is just more of the same. all we're getting out of barack obama and bill nelson is more government regulations. more taxes. and american people said enough is enough. >> sean: he voted with democrats in congress nearly 95% of the time. and now doesn't want to be seen with obama. i think the thing res onyaited nationally is that one penny i

year out of every dollar spent for six years. we're at a balanced budget. right? >> that is right. it's a simple plan. one penny out of every dollar of the federal budget for six years. after seventh year, we cap spending at 18%. and after 10 years, he we end up $7.5 trillion. ef one watching has to take a penny out of every dollar of the business budget. the federal government should be required to dot same thing to balance the budget and start this process of a stronger economy. florida is, i sense the next election g to see you.

going to is that the feeling wasn't strong enough. you know what gingrich did. it was smart. impacting the press, he importantly had some inception to say in every case. what gingrich has done is become disciplined which is something he never was before. and now, he's getting the point. the interview i thought was great. he said how have you changed? sean said, he said i have become a grandfather and you have a different view of the world when you're a grandfather. >> interesting thing is that many people are looking at the republican field. people are disenfranchised with the president. they don't agree with what he's done. they're looking for someone

who can fix it and solve problems. they know what they see is someone who is going to bring forth options. and think like that. they like being a part of the national suction and having someone that says there is an option. this is the way we can fix it. and laying forth a process says this is where we are. this is where we want to be and how we get there. >> is it romney versus newt at this point? >> there is one thing bringing these two together. they have extraordinary spouses. ann romney and mrs. gingrich are extraordinary women. and enthusiasm for the fight. makes a big difference. i would love to have those debates between mitt and newt. and i think it would be good for the country. i think i like santorum.

he never got a shot at this. >> and there is a match up to endorse gingrich. it's one of the few newspapers that does have impact on the primary. and supporting gingrich or attacking romney. interestingly enough, which gingrich cannot comment about illegal immigrants. everybody said well, it turns out romney said the same thing. i think newt understands demographics in this country. >> sean: i said he talks about english being the official language of the country and said we've got to secure the border first. i said did you pryor ties these things? he said yeah. he didn't say that in the debate but that helped him, do you think? >> i'm not sure that things

goring to help. what helped is that first he has laid out something that is an orderly process this, is what we need to do. everybody agrees. securing border needs to be done first. and this is how we can do it and reformed ice. this is how we reformed immigration process. this is how we deal with visas. people are going to be open to listen. >> let me ask you this question. he's decided if obama is tired of debates if he were to get the nod i think romney is stayed on top of the polls z large base of support. but he says i will follow obama everywhere he goes. they will dictate where i go. obama goes someplace, i'll be there four hours later.

and it's a great tactic. and i think governor romney -- i think newt gingrich is going to be a better nominee. a better and much more impressive. >> there is a technical side. in ohio you've got to turn in petitions december 7. i don't think newt gingrich makes the ballot in many of the states. >> this is interesting. and so southern ohio was a conservative republicans. and romney, this is romney's problem. he's had 25% across the board. >> but that is not. a front runner this far out tends to solidify mid-20s and 30s. >> do you have to get out of here? >> yes. i do. i went like this.
