groundwork for an obama loss. that way they can say the only reason, the only reason barack obama didn't win re-election is because of these racist bigots who are all over america and threw the election to the republic candidate. it's pathetic on this day and any other day. >> bill: happening big time and ramping up now it looks like romney is going to be the guy who are l. run against the president. he is going to be portrayed as you said as the favorite of the bigoted class. where was this class when obama was elected and beat john mccain another white guy, right? i don't know where they were then but i guess they are back with a vengeance. i will give you the last word. >> the last word is a word unfortunately you are going to be hearing throughout this campaign. liberals, a certain kind of liberal. not all liberals obviously but a certain kind of liberal is

going to yell racism whenever somebody agrees with president obama. it can't possibly be that conservatives don't like him because of his policies. that is something that is beyond their comprehension. it's only because conservatives are racist as i said before it is doing a lot of harm. it's a shame that it's liberals who are at the forefront of the civil rights movement who are trashing an important word like racism. they are trashing it turning it into just mush. >> bill: thanks very much. in a moment, karl rove will handicap the south carolina primary debate this evening. that's coming up. rove is next.

stuff is not getting any traction in south carolina. do you expect mitt romney and rick perry to throw a lot of stuff about him about that? >> i expect newt gingrich and rick perry. >> bill: who did i say? >> you said mitt romney. gingrich and perry. even if they don't. mitt romney finds. one thing you are right. this issue has boomer ranged badly on gingrich and perry. hurting their positives and negatives. driving up their negatives and driving down their positives. it is a general election issue that has emerged early and republicans want to know that romney is going to be able to take it on and win. second thing is it is a way to unify conservatives. jim demint, rush limbaugh and all defended romney against newt gingrich and. that's hard to bring about. those guys brought it about. this is a way for him to

positively lay the foundation for the general election as he moves forward here and wins by a convincing margin he needs to frame up the general election. there will come a point sometime this spring if romney does get a win on saturday and then wins in florida, there will get to be a point where people are going to pay less attention to the presidential contest and he needs to have seized every moment before that point in order to lay the foundation for the general election. >> bill: all right. so you expect him then to be re very well prepared tonight to put a positive face on his bain capital experience? he has got to go out and say two or three things that here is what i did. this is why it was worthy, bing bing bing bing bing bing. let me ask you something. you have been listening to the program tonight, right? the whole factor show tonight? >> right. >> bill: do you have any idea what this racism thing is all about? i don't get. this. >> sure. >> bill: go ahead. >> sure. look, the president stands --

runs the risk of not being reelected unless the african-american community turns out to the degree it did in 2008 and gives him what they gave him in 2008. he got 97% of a very large african-american turnout. now, if the year since then the promises of jobs and economic progress has fallen flat. concerned about him as a leader. as a result they are not wired up as much as they were. go to a state like florida or north carolina. the president won north carolina by o.32% turnout. if the turnout, the african-american turnout is 1% less of the turnout than it was in 2008, the president loses and everybody votes exactly the same. >> the president loses south carolina. >> bill: by doing this race stuff he alienates independents who voted for him the first time around.
