we'll see you next fox news sunday. >> a fox urgent, an avalanche near a ski resort killed three people not far from seattle, washington. minutes ago we have learned the search for the eight others believed to be missing is now over. it happened near stevens pass in the cascade mountains. the local sheriff's department telling us the avalanche triggered in an out of bounds area near the resort. we're told three separate groups of experienced skiers were in the area at the time and some of those buried were able to free themselves. we'll get information on that. and a reporter joining us now by phone, james. >> reporter: harris, this all started just afternoon today,

this avalanche here, as you said, three people now confirmed dead. this avalanche, we're told partially covered part of u.s. highway 2, which is the main east-west highway through the stevens mountain pass, through the cascade mountains. but we did found three are dead and as you said eight others-- (inaudible) >> james, i think you're in a moving vehicle because your cell phone is cutting in and out and i want to make sure we can keep your voice, if case we lose you want to get you this question. eight people freed, they were able to get out. what was the process like? yeah, we lost him. you know, i had a concern about that, because i know he's in a moving vehicle and you can see the weather conditions there, they are kind of dotting in and out of the area there, some icy roads, so it can be sometimes difficult to keep good reception there. if we can get him back, of course, we will it's a

plus, two boxers taken out of the ring. and the brawl landing one of them in police custody and prompting a search for the other. in minutes, the the bruising details. a lot of news developing at this hour on iran starting with a major blow to two of our nation's biggest ally. iran cut off oil shipments to britain and france, over sufficient sanctions. in january the 27 nation union announced it would stop importing crude from iran beginning july 1st and a freeze on the iran central bank assets. earlier this month. the iranian minister warned they could cut off oil to the hostile european nations and that's part of the story. this is also happening tonight. earlier, iran's revolutionary guard began a two day land military exercise. you see it here in this video

and we just reported last night. iranian ships entered the iranian sea through the suez canal only the second time since the islamic revolution of 1979. now iran is saying today's war games are part of an effort to upgrade its defense. and the united states and israel have not ruled out military strikes aimed at the nuclear programs. iran ip sissing it's for peaceful purposes. meanwhile, israel's defense minister barak just hours ago urging countries worldwide to increase sanctions against iran, before it does indeed develop a weapon. >> it should be done determinedly and, and in a concluded manner. >> former u.n. ambassador john boulton saying that ehud

earlier a hearse carried the casket to a cemetery in west field, new jersey. laid to rest next to her dad, john russell who died in 2003. quite different from the invitation only service yesterday, some tributes were the biggest names. and houston was found dead in a beverly hills hotel room. she was 48. the saga of the costa concordia got a little more intriguing if that's possible. more than a month has passed since a cruise ship struck a reef and sank into the ocean. the pictures stunned the world more than a month ago, when it hit that reef off the coast of italy. and the latest from the disaster seen. and a man killed his wife on the honeymoon and witnesses revealing what the husband did in the moments before this picture was taken. stay close. >> italy, something going right at the site of that cruise ship. the first removing the fuel from the costa concordia is now complete and the agency monitoring the operation saying the tanks in the front part of the ship are now cleared of fuel and contained about two-thirds of the total 500,000 gallons on board. it's been feared all along that fuel could leak out and contaminate the beautiful coastal waters which are likely now the tomb for those still missing and the ship slammed into a reef last month capsizing and killing 32 people and next step in the refusal removal, cleaning out the tanks in the back of the ship. and choppy waters predicted for tomorrow morning could delay that part of the work. brand new details now emerging in the case of an alabama woman who drown while scuba diving on her honeymoon and prosecutors argue this picture shows it all.

tina watson moments after she sank to the bottom of the ocean, and her husband on trial for her murder accused of cutting off the air supply so he could cash in on the insurance. the defense calling it a tragic accident and witnesses paint ago much clearer picture of what happened. we want to know more and elizabeth is live for us in atlanta. >> you're right, the prosecutors say that watson turned off his wife's air supply while they were underwater allowing to suffocate and turned the air supply back up and he swam back up to the boat, they say it's for a life and travel insurance on new bride and watson served 18 months in australia before a manslaughter charge, and before he was here and tina was an inexperienced diver, compounded by a strong current and heavy weight belt led to a

it's a pretty uncanny resemblance, on the left the late tina watson his first wife and on the first, current wife kim. married in 2008 and she has been by his side the entire trial and the prosecution starts, their hearing, tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. and we anticipate seeing her there and the prosecution should rest later in the week and the trial could last another two weeks, harris. >> harris: all right. elizabeth, a lot of interesting details there, thank you very much. and right now, the shock, no doubt, setting in at that ski resort outside of seattle washington, three people dead at this hour and where we started fox report tonight. more video from the scene. authorities reporting that people died in an avalanche while they were skiing in an out of bounds area. many of them said to be very experienced. the other skiers, eight of them missing and manage today dig themselves out of the show and we have been able to learn there were avalanche warnings in that area posted all day long, we don't know whether those skiers were aware of that or what the situation was

with regard to that. weather in the area, just to fill you in. 24 degrees at the time. and it's in an area of about 5,000 feet. and 19 inches of fresh snow had just fallen. and those warnings that softer snow, surface snow and relatively warmer temperatures could trigger a slope slide. more on this breaking story as we get it. plus, preparing to mark 50 years since a major milestone in the space race against russia. astronaut john glenn becoming the very first american to orbit the earth, ahead inside the fox report. u.s. agency. nasa marking 50 years of orbit. kicking off celebrations, the man who led the country's charge into space flight, john glenn, the former senators free mere journey took place aboard friendship 7 on february 20th. 1962. circling the earth three times, almost 40 years later. he'd take a ride on shuttle discovery in 1998. at the age of 77. and oldest person to ever do so. but as glenn and as the second american to orbit earth, scott carpenter paused to look back at nasa's history. they also talked about the future. and the u.s. he no longer has its own means of getting astronauts to space. the sooner we get some of this new capability to go back into space ourselves from here, the sooner we'll get the station operating up to the level that we had anticipated. we could get everybody safely according, to all of you a--
