is this the best they can do? >> sean: i agree. i think it's funny. >> i mean they have to go back to -- i mean look we all when we were young and stupid we were young and stupid. and so what. and also look, think about this. you played that passage of the audio book. we now know that these are composite characters. we have no idea whether this was a real person or not. the president's acknowledged these are composites of various people that he may have come across. let's get on to more important things. things that have to do with their real character as aresults and real values and views as adults and most important of all the real values views and actions as political leaders and president obama likes this and wants this kind of discussion all day long. if we are talking about mitt romney's pranks as a student in high school we are not talking about a dismal economy, a failed stimulus bill, a healthcare bill that people hate, and a president who has failed to lead this country as

another supporter of the president saying republicans don't like latinos and then the artificial war on women. dividing the country across and then bring up this issue with friends in the media about mitt romney. what does that tell us about them? it tells us, what, they can't run on are you better off than you were four years ago? >> also means they can't run on the basis of prospective vision what are you going to do for the country. at the president's speech at virginia commonwealth university he had an interesting reiteration. he said we are not republicans and democrats we are americans. and then later on in his speech says mitt romney "mitt romney sincerely believes as long as millionaires like him are doing well, then the rest of the country is okay." wait a minute, romney sincerely believes what? where did he say that, mr. president? the president is going to try and sound good and sound like he is our leader and then engainl in the worst and most

shameless kind of political smear making by saying romney believes it this, he sincerely believes this. oh, really? >> sean: i will play in the next seth the president in his own words admiting that he rarely went to school. he drank a lot and used drugs enthusiastically. he even did cocaine and said drugs plural. where are the media questions about this? he is the most transparent president ever. where are his college grades and if he didn't attend high school on a regular basis how did he get into the ivy league schools? fair question? >> yes. look, but let's get beyond it. the media is never going to cover that. this is exactly where he wants us to go it into this kind of stuff. let's keep focused on the thing that's american people know a lot about. >> sean: the economy. >> and are willing to judge him on which is the economy.

this guy told us, he waved around that memo from kristine roamer and jared burnstein, he said if you want to know exactly what is going to happen look at this. it says unemployment topped out at 8% at the end of the summer of 2009 and it would be 6% today. he said we will have a great recovery. if we had the average recovery, the per capita gdp would be $4,500 per person bigger and there would be 13 million morn more americans working. let's go at him on the things that happened in the last three or four years. let's let the media go out there and make themselves irreelection rant by going out and examining -- i thought the family today. hats off to the family saying we don't want our family to be used for political purposes and we are not going to say any more about this. i thought that was classy. if the washington post was half as classy they wouldn't have run the story in the first place. >> sean: 11 long pages. good to see you.

incumbent president. >> you want to be in the lead in every poll. i want to caution that the national polls don't really matter a whole lot. i think it is significant the 7-point lead but what matters, rasmussen had obama up by 16 points in new mexico. has him up in about every one of the swing states and that has to change. but i'm saying that that has to change. virginia, for instance. so does this trend show up in other national polls? and does -- and more importantly does it show up in places like, new mexico, virginia, ohio and other states. >> sean: dick more issues says if he hasn't convinced people by the time election day comes around all of the undecided have always gone with the challenger. tucker what is your analysis of the new poll numbers? >> this is a reelection campaign and it is a referendum on the last four years. the numbers i'm paying attention to is do you think

the president has done a good job and is the country on the right track are we headed in the right direction. for the 100th month in a row americans say no. a terrible number for obama. way below 50% in job performance. if romney runs a good campaign it will be about obama. are you papp happy with what yu have got and do you want to change. and buy that criteria the president is in trouble. >> sean: the president forgets about the economy himself. a guy that really sounds like he is in touch as he is out hobknobing. >> it was a house of cards and collapsed in the most destructive worst crisis that we have seen since the great depression. and sometimes people forget the

magnitude of it. sometimes i forget. ♪ >> sean: joe, more of the same. blame, excuse making. every president inherits problems. this guy makes more excuses than anybody i know. sometimes i forget about the recession. whoops. >> he didn't say forget about the recession. he said forget about the magnitude and collapse and the house of cards that he had. >> sean: i know, poor president obama. he has been burdened more than any other -- he was county burdened more than regan. 21% interest rates.

admitted drug use like in this case. >> i spent the last two years of high school in a daze. locking away the questions that life seemed insistent on posing. i kept playing basketball. attended classes sparingly. drank beer heavily. and tried drugs enthusiastically. i discovered that it didn't make any difference whether you smoked reefer in the white classmate's sparkling new van or in the dorm room with some brother you met at the gym or on the beach with a couple of hawaiian kids who dropped out of school and now spent most of their time looking for an excuse to brawl. >> sean: he says i blue a few smoke rings and pot and booze and maybe a blow meaning cocaine if you can afford it. first of all, how did he get into an ivy league school if he was in a daze, attended classes rarely, intoxicated regularly, using drugs enthusiastically. how degette into these schools?

i think these are legitimate questions. >> everything you played is his account of his young life so he had the advantage of writing his own narrative. that is not an advantage most candidates have had. not one romney has had. the press ought to be writing its story about what obama's young life was like. >> sean: how degette into school. in if you attend school sparingly? >> it it is incumbent on reporters to answer that question. >> sean: i think you have a mission here. i'm charging you with that mission. >> sean: it was a big issue if bill clinton even inhaled. he a has admitted doing drugs, cocaine. >> he admitted. he got in front of this stuff and wrote it and told us about it. >> he did this long before he was running for president and now it is coming back to haunt him. >> i think it was great inoculation for a political

career that led him into the presidency. >> sean: how many people do you think just heard what we just played? very few. >> you may have a point there. one of the things -- look, i think the bully thing with romney is ridiculous. >> sean: i do, too. >> going back and looking at what either of these guys were doing in high school does not tell you what i don't think is a good indication of where they are today. >> sean: how about maybe answer your college transcripts and thesis. how did you get into college when you didn't go to high school for the last two years of high school. seems like there is a big missing piece of this puzzle, joe. >> the guy was vetted. i know he you will do more. you don't get to be president of the united states without everybody the clinton campaign, the edwards campaign, everybody looking under the hood and trying to expos anything they can find. >> the media asked him one time about bill ayers. >> if you don't think bill and

breast feeding. the new issue of time magazine is sparking public outrage with its cover that shows a 26-year-old partially naked breast feeding her three-year-old son now four years old. the mother regardless of h her parenting style put her almost 4-year-old boy on the cover of a national magazine knowing the media attention it would get. in light of the backlash over the image she went on the today show with her youngest son to defend this decision. >> you have another son who is almost five. >> we were going to douaning but i'm hoping the fourth year just for me is probably going to be our final. he is self-weaning right now and it is a big commitment and it is not right for everybody and i think that that is the big thing is you need to do what is best for your baby and for your own family. >> sean: joining me with reaction, fox news contributor sandy rios and republican

strategist mercedes. i know you have a child or two. i'm good friends with you and your husband and i'm watching this and see this image. it shows desperation in the media. time magazine they have to do something. show a naked woman and create a controversy. i think this is part of their decision. it this a good idea up to five years old breast feeding, sleeping in the same bed? seems, look, i'm not being judgmental but seems different from what i believe, let me put it that way. >> unfortunately, the cover does not reflect the intimacy and beauty of breast feeding. >> sean: i don't have any problem with it. at five? >> in many cultures there is extended breast feeding which actually the american academy of pediatricians and the world health organization recommends that children, mothers breast feed children until they are one or two years old.

at the end of the day it is the mother's choice and she chooses whether to breast feed or not breast feed the kid. it is a loving nurturing act and a bond that creates health benefits for the mother and the child. at the end of the day the mother needs to choose what is the best thing for her child. >> sean: i'm not telling her what to do. i don't want to get involved. i'm looking from the outside in and sandy, i don't get it. up to five years old? he is going to be in kindergarten and still breast feeding? >> i will not be like you. i will be judgmental, sean. i'm opposed to this. i'm totally in favor of breast feeding. i breast fed both of my children. but putting it on the cover of time does show desperate existences in these desperate times. john boehner just this week said is burning. time is talking about a 20-year-old book. showing that photo whether you

agree with the baby being nursed that long is just indecent and by that i mean it is a private beautiful interaction between mother and child. we don't need to see it on the cover of a magazine. and secondly, the countries that practice breast feeding until five and six are third world countries. western countries underand it that the children have to grow up and become productive citizens and have to detach from mother. we wan them from the breast. it the weaning means wester to train them not to take breast mihming because it is not natural. they would cling to mom all their lives. >> sean: did i miss a shot there? bed. i think i might have heard something i didn't hear. >> yeah, you did. >> it is natural. at the end of the day it is not like what would be worse, beating, neglecting a child. i mean this is about breast feeding, a loving nurturing act between a mother and child. >> sean: up to five.
