those who died in service for our country. let's talk to our next guest. fighter pilot who served two tours of duty in iraq. for him this is all about god, country and golf. he joins us live this morning from the golf course in new york city. major rooney is foumder. they provide collscholarships. thank you for joining us. major start out by telling us what made you start this? >> it is a great day to be an american. memorial day is a holiday in many parts of the country that lost it's relevance. it's a day of great reverence about the men and women who have given their lives for our freedoms. an f-16 fighter poi lot. i have done three tours of duty in iraq.

i can tell you first hand freedom is not free. american men and women giving their lives and limbs for freedom in their country. i have enspinspiration in our l. second tour of duty on a commercial airline flight from chicago o'hare to grand rapids michigan. the captain came over the pa said we had the remains of a man who had been killed in iraq and his brother brought him 7,000 miles home. as i watched him on the darkest night of his lives with the coffin inched down the cargo hold ramp i knew i had to do something to give back. my other occupation besides being a fighter pilot i am a pga golf official. wechable to combine the game of golf and my live of country to
