that another european nation is getting ready to ask for a bailout, this time it is spain. they are holding emergency talk to address the massive financial problems. greg burke has the latest on this crisis. >> that's right. a very important conference call. spain has expected the bail out and it is not official and unclear whether it will be official in that call. it appears it is going to happen sooner or later. and saying it is significant because of the size. it is the fourth largest economy in the euro zone. it was considered too big to bail out. and now appear that is madrid will have to ask for help. spain will get money to pay, but unclear what form it will come or lent to the banks or

go to the sovereign government. the problem is spanish banks. they are talking about a bailout that range 40 billion to 80 billion euros. that could be as much as hundred billion . banks are the bill ones and they have spawned a protest and people worried about losing their money. there is so many bad loans on the banks and started with a big real estate bust in 2008. it is a delicate time for all of europe. a lot of attention on grease right now. it is a small country but it is in trouble. they are going back to election and just a week from tomorrow . everybody will be looking at thatment finally uma. spain is so much bigger than greece. it is like a bumper falling off of the car. and span spain is more like if

program helps people with their illness. now people could qualify for treatment and payment as long as they and their doctor make a good case it was caused by toxic dust. previously it only covered asthma and sinus irritation. first responders do have cancer, but there is no scientific evidence of the dust connected to the cancer. there is concern that adding cancer to the list could strain the program's limited resources. congress caps funding for the program for the treatment. and compensation payments. those numbers will still remain the same regardless of how many people file for the benefits. durnt u currently willy i people enrolled in the program

should we expect to see that sound bite appearing again and again in attack ads. >> people will refer to it constantly. it underscores how this president doesn't understand the system he lives in . first of all. he said the private sector is doing well . finally came back a couple of hours later and admitted that was a silly statement to make and then he brags about four million jobs in twen months that they created from the low point and not understanding that in the four years he's been in office they should have created 10 million more jobs and in order to just keep up with population over the last 27 monthses, he should have created five and quarter million jobs. when you hear the president say we created four million job in the last twen months. you understand what he's saying we created a million fewer jobs than we should have

created. >> republicans have -- mccane made the declaration that the fundamentals were strong. he never recovered from that. what impact will the private sector remark have in the race? >> it adds to the incompetence or eracception of incompetence in the white house. they rolled out the bain attack and that was incompetent. everything they are doing politically lately is clumsy and ineptand people are understand that it is a clums yeineptpresident. >> new fox news polls that we have there. who do you trust to do a better job with the economy. we see on the screen romney and obama and romney doing pretty good. right now he has 44 percent over 40 percent.

and 51 on government spending as opposed to 31 percent for the president. what do you make of the fact he's doing better and you think he's finally gaining traction here. >> he is getting traction and the country and the rest of the country that really didn't participate in the aggressive primary process that the republicans have, they are understanding what a good governor and great businessman he was and capacity for job creation really is. that is what the next 150 days are about. on the issue of foreign policy. the governor still has to work at convincing americans that he knows what is best in terms of leading the country on the international frontt. foreign policy. they still go with the president. 52 percent on educationand 49 percent on foreign policy. and to 34 percent for romney.

in this arena. the president is taking a lead on this one. >> well, president's have an advantage in terps of the public's perception on foreign policiment but as people begin to hear the details of the difference, and the fact that mitt romney is committed to rebuilding the national security structure and army and nave yeair force and equipment that we have. he's committed to restoring it and this president is looking to finding new way to cut the defense budget. the rest of the world lost respect for the country over three and half years and mitt romney is committed to making sure that people respect the united states in the process numbers will change i think. >> governor romney is accusing the president of being out of touch with americans. but a few months ago, people lookked at governor romney as

being out of touch and insensitive to american concerns. do you think that he is connecting better with the voters, what is going on here? >> the first reaction to anyone who is so successful is to say they don't understand what is happening to the average american. i think mitt romney talked about the problems . pointed out there is 23 million americans out there suffering by being underemployed. and he talked about his sensitivity to the plight of young people graduating from college and not fighting jobs with their education . mitt romney talks more and more about these problems, they understand he is really connected and the president puts his foot in the mouth, they realize that president obama is not connected. >> governor, thank you for joining us with the insight great to see you. >> always good to see you, thanks very much. >> he is a 12 year old patriot

gone from homeless to harvard. elizabeth is live now with more on her very special story, elizabeth? >> yes, hi, uma. the once homeless north carolina teen is headed to harvard in the fall and she is a true example of beating the odds. >> dawn-- >> when dawn got her high school diploma, the auditorium filled with thousands erupted. the harvard university bound grad beat the odds and the crowd knew it. loggens used to be homeless. >> i found myself absolutely homeless with nowhere to go. i stayed at friend's houses in between. >> loggens childhood was complicated by evictions, a parent involved with drugs and hunger. and only felt peace after sent away from home her junior year and when she returned home something was missing, her parents had moved, leaving her to fend for herself.
