to medicare. he attended church with his family president obama and the first family of washington, d.c. also attended church. beyond this ability of attending church the debate for medicare continues to intensify romney ryan he approved medicare and extended the life of the program. what president obama weakened medicare take 700 billion out of it and using it to spend on a new entitlement which is part of obama care. it takes the money away from medicare. that hurts beneficiaries now. >> if they put that money back into the system it means medicare will go bankrupt in four years. if they put them in the white house medicare will go bankrupt before the first term. that's what that means. >> you can see how the debate is shaping up.

congratulations to him. very nice for kid rock. that is 5@5:30. now to the sound of center lines on the campaign trail. president obama avoiding questions from the white house press corps. what does this mean one week after the national convention and two weeks from the dnc? we go to kelly write who is live from washington, d.c. >> oo the white house says the president is not avoiding any particular press conference from the white house press corps but it has been two months since president obama took questions from the white house press corps in fact. the president has not formally taken questions from the core in more than two months. on the campaign trail he has made time for reporters from "people" magazine, entertainment tonight and local television news reporters. the campaign manager said giving interviews to the media outlet is just as important to speaking to the white house press corps. >> i don't think they are more important but i think they are

equally important. that's where a lot of americans get their news. i think the president will continue doing that. mitt romney might have had two media availabilities but what did he tell you in those that he was afraid of getting attacked and spouted off lies. do you find that media availability useful if he is not being transparent about his own policies and distorting the president's? >> the last news conference was 27th of june. he answered 6 questions on the european dealt crisis and politics. form last was on march 6th. comparing this to other presidents involved in a reelection campaign george bush had 17 press conferences respecti respectively. he held 8 but he promised to hold one a month.

the presidential candidate does plan to release more tax returns. listen to this. >> as they have last year's tax return they will have the most recent tax returns for this year as well. you can go on to the web site and see personal financial disclosures going back to 2002. >> there will be two years of full tax returns which is consistent with what john mccain did because president obama wasn't trying to retract from four years of failed policies. >> the deadline is three weeks before the election. that would seem to me to be a crazy dime to release tax returns. strategically you have to release tax returns. it's a distraction if not an attack point for democrats. >> october 15th is the deadline for the irs on an extension. we said when they are ready we are going to release them.

including a 9-year-old boy. about a dozen people were also hurt in the 6.3 magnitude quake that struck the palu city island. 15 minutes before the hour and a small plane crashes into a neighborhood on long island killing two of the three people on board that plane. robert moses is live from new york with the latest. good morning. do we know what brought down this plane? >> heather, that will be part of the investigation by the national transportation safety board. it really is a miracle the plane did not hit any homes or people on the way to the ground. take a look behind me. this is on sherirley in long island. you can see the wreckage from the plane and the charred dumpster the dumpster that burned when the plane came crashing down to the ground. the single engine plane crashed just before noon yesterday shortly after takeoff from the airport which is a mile or so

away from where we are this morning. at least one person on the ground tried to use a garden hose to extinguish the flames. the unidentified pilot died at the scene. the other two people on board when police identified eric nunjum and 60-year-old wife were taken to the hospital where the wife later died. i didn't think there were going to be any survivors. usually have kids playing around here. i was worried about that. >> i have never seen anything like this before. >> the husband remains in critical condition at stony brook hospital. the national transportation safety board is expected to be here today as this investigation continues. that is the latest live from shirley robert moses back to you. thank you so much. earlier in the show we asked you to brew on this. this is a fun one. can marriage actually drive you to drink? according to a new study for women it actually can.

one of the best beaches on earth is on the small island of easter island. it is home of won of the wonders of the world. it is an amazing place. wild horses walking around randomly. >> horses along the beach while you are laying out. >> what about in brazil? >> there's an island which is a nature reserve. they only allow 200 people per day on to the island. it is full of beaches. but there's a beach in a is amazing. it is impossible to get to. you have to walk down this really speep george to get there once you are there it's an amazing crescent shaped beach. incredible water just big giant turtles out in the middle of the ocean. >> you say it's the crown jewel of pristine beaches. >> what about bermuda for people on the east coast to get to. >> just an hour and a half flight from new york. it is chalked full of great
