daughter. but, you know, kudos to law enforcement they just did an excellent job and i can never show my appreciation enough to anybody out there that showed us love and support. terrific country. love you guys. >> well, all right, brett, and of course, law enforcement always working quietly behind the scenes and this appears to have been a joint effort by the fbi and the local police. there was talk of drones as well as infrared activity to locate this guy, dimaggio, in an area where there was hundreds of miles of trails. a roadless area in the lowest 48 states. black bears and ocean ma-- and other animals in that area. are you still with us, brett?
12:06 am
>> i am, but not for long. i have to prepare. >> i understand, let me ask you one question, is hannah strong enough to look at this and put it behind her? >> all we can do is hope and pray, we don't know what she has been through. she is a strong girl. she made it this far and all we can do is hope that whatever help she needs or whatever to get her through this, that we show the love and support and help her through. >> and what do you think you will say to her when you see her? >> that i love her. >> all right. thanks so much for that, brett anderson. the father of hannah anderson who is alive and has been taken to the hospital, james dimaggio her abductor is dead, reportedly in a shootout with the fbi and the local police, in an area i

12:09 am
committed suicide and why would that be relevant to james' life? >> his father had a long history of -- a troubled history. he was in and out of jail. he had a crystal meth addiction. and he ended up taking a large overdose of crystal -- i'm sorry, methamphetamine intravenously and walked into the desert and committed suicide. >> why do you feel that his son, james dim aaggio, you said you expected this. why is the 15th anniversary significant, instead of the 10th? did you see him break down? >> i'm not only jim's friend, i have been involved in psychiatric work and i run clean treatment centers and working with laura a and the family, you know, i discovered these dates. and when i discovered them i
12:10 am
announced them to the fbi and it was clear to me that it fell into the pattern of what we often see with people that have a suicidal plan, often when people are suicidal or depressed they will make a plan of how they commit suicide. that is where we often ask people, do you have a plan? >> did he? did he? did you ask him? did you ask him that? >> no, i never had a chance to. and i was hoping that, you know, there would be a chance to completely verify my suspicions, but it appears to coincidence with the dates. >> did he speak to you about an obsession that he had with hannah? >> he never spoke to any family member, neither laura, her husband, barry or myself about any obsession with hannah.
