8:08 pm
in dolan's diary. first my look back at the week in dolan's diary . the in dolan's diary. the conservative party's chip of artists smuggler in chief, jungle dwelling, reptile is matt hancock has announced he will leave parliament at the next election . he won't be missed. election. he won't be missed. his stint health secretary where he pursued lockdowns , mask he pursued lockdowns, mask mandates and vaccine was like a two year long bushtucker for the british people . good riddance . british people. good riddance. harry and meghan shocked world with their netflix documentary dropped on thursday . this dropped on thursday. this self—indulgent ego marathon made the cats and the hangover three seem almost enjoyed by comparison .jonny johnson , the comparison. jonny johnson, the last surviving member the dambusters raid has sadly died this week . what a hero . and his this week. what a hero. and his extraordinary courage , humility
8:09 pm
extraordinary courage, humility and self—sacrifice provides a stark contrast to that millionaire couple crying about their lives in. california. eu commission head ursula von der leyen has said that britain's complex, historic relationship with ireland is similar to the russian invasion . ukraine as russian invasion. ukraine as someone of irish heritage, yes you you can ask me where i'm really from what a deeply offensive and tone deaf remark thatis offensive and tone deaf remark that is to make with someone like von der leyen in charge it's another reason to be thankful we're out von der leyen needs a von der leyen down. good news britain is to build its first coal mine in 30 years. this will create 500 jobs and the coal produced will serve our excellent steel industry. so drill for the rest. with years of shale, 30 years of oil and gas , and up to 100 years of coal gas, and up to 100 years of coal beneath feet, perhaps energy

into beckons. after all. meanwhile, a top union boss has his colleagues out for a boozy dnnk his colleagues out for a boozy drink cup amid a toxic climate of industrial unrest. they are having a great time . they don't having a great time. they don't go on strike. when the owner of the pub, do they? now, that's my diary of the week . helping me diary of the week. helping me react to the big stories of the day. is ella whelan political commentator hired of how he thinks? thanks for having me. great to have you here. where do we start. matt hancock out of politics and probably into a well—paid career in showbiz. it's definitely in line with his his new desired or the kind of celebrity to be able to put spin on this. the idea that this is just been his decision that he has, you know, weighed up his opfions has, you know, weighed up his options and actually decided that prefers limelight of that he prefers limelight of reality tv . that's not what reality tv. that's not what happened. we know that there was
8:11 pm
that basically there was no confidence sentiment that he was essentially pushed . this has essentially pushed. this has been very well stage . but i know been very well stage. but i know i wasn't fan of i'm a celebrity and i didn't watch him in it. i'm certainly not a fan of my. i can't see why he thinks this is going to go . as i understood it, going to go. as i understood it, he didn't exactly recuperate his kind of any kind of public support . he was consistently support. he was consistently voted to do horrible things and then , you know, he hasn't he then, you know, he hasn't he hasn't won the heart of the nation. people don't have that short memories. we haven't just forgotten that he was one of the orchestrators of the worst penodsin orchestrators of the worst periods in recent british history. although there is a contradiction there, because the people that really wanted lockdowns argue he didn't lockdowns argue he didn't lockdown enough and he took his eye off the ball when it came to the care homes. but then the lockdown sceptics think that he was the lockdown hawk who caused all economic damage , who all that economic damage, who was for essentially was responsible for essentially a failed experiment to stop virus. i mean, he can't be wrong on both counts. well i think he
8:12 pm
might be. and it's probably a bit of in a bit of column b, which is that we know that so much of the way through the pandemic would cost mind back to that was the that awful time was the government and politicians like matt hancock essentially feeling in dark and choosing often in the dark and choosing often the worst decisions . you know if the worst decisions. you know if you had a that were in the beginning stages at least i think most people understood that lockdown right back at that very the start of march was perhaps something that had to happen until everyone understood what going . that was the what was going. that was the penod what was going. that was the period in which of the period in which some of the worst was done to those worst damage was done to those living who then living in care homes who then died and later quite , quickly died and later on quite, quickly when it became clear that, for example , knew this wasn't example, knew this wasn't affecting certain sections of society, kids and younger people as much as older people . you as much as older people. you know , the idea that kind of know, the idea that kind of shutting down the entirety of lives, including making it illegal to sit on benches together in parks, probably wasn't sensible. the government then swung all the way into the other direction and went for
8:13 pm
that so, know think also that so, you know think also probably a lot of people just remember him being this kind of pansy creep a cupboard with that woman who again the end of i'm a celebrity they sort of again groped her backside national television. just think please of really i've seen too much of my hancock sex lesson last year a lifetime . you know he i think lifetime. you know he i think he's someone who has always liked to himself as a kind of celebrity politics. and i kind of caught my mind and was thinking of all the press conferences he did and how he enjoyed them kind of too much , enjoyed them kind of too much, really serious and so really serious time. and so i good riddance. i mean, i really can't to any in his can't to any point in his political career and say was a success no rishi sunak by the way has had a quiet week is he just is he just busy being prime minister, do you think does he need to be more visible? yeah i, i don't think he's being being prime minister there's prime minister because there's nothing in a kind of nothing coming in a kind of moment of variety , of crises, moment of variety, of crises, strikes and like that, which were going to come on to talk to
8:14 pm
him, talk about, i'm sure, but also sort of serious economic cnses also sort of serious economic crises , not just for those who crises, not just for those who are going on strike, but cost of living and energy prices, all the rest of it. and the government hasn't out essentially his time as. prime minister far has been kind of minister so far has been kind of you he gave a speech in you know, he gave a speech in which he used the word pragmatism. what what does that mean? you know what what does that mean? he's a kind of he's an arch technocrat, someone who i think hopes if you sort i think hopes that if you sort keep an even keeled balance, the books and basically do nothing calmly, that everything will be . he's not a mover and shaker and whatever you want to say about boris johnson he probably was too much of an shaker, especially around time in especially around the time in parties downing street . at parties in downing street. at least was some kind of least that was some kind of sense of a vision there with that 2019 manifesto. now, i think what does rishi sunak's stand for ? your guess is as good stand for? your guess is as good as mind . there well, as mind. there you go. well, look, we'll to the big burning issues of the day i've got good news, which is the have equalised and harry kane has
8:15 pm
scored a penalty so that world cup dream is back on of course it's england versus france in qatar and i'll keep you updated whenever . there is any qatar and i'll keep you updated whenever. there is any goal action . this show is perfect action. this show is perfect because you get lively debate, plenty of entertainment as. well, and you don't have to watch that boring football but you do get the result and get reaction from big sam allardyce straight after the game. so lots to get through and next up and it's very important and it's all about the strikes should we have more sympathy for those currently on strike see shortly .
8:17 pm
8:18 pm
8:19 pm
real villain. but first, with cash strapped , struggling with cash strapped, struggling with the cost of living , our cash strapped, struggling with the cost of living, our public sector workers who are downing tools entitled withdraw their labour should . we have more labour should. we have more sympathy for those going strike. to debate this, let's speak to zacharie. first of all. hi, zachary . good evening, mark. zachary. good evening, mark. great to have you on the show . great to have you on the show. thank you. i wonder whether the media narrative has been quite strongly against those going on strike. the bottom line that they're struggling to heat their homes and pay weekly supermarket bill. perhaps they're entitled to down. yes. and i was for on ago. i was going to say you introduce me as being in leicester, which i do live there, but i'm on holiday and sympathetic at moment and i hope i can home because i'm due to return. i'm one of the rmt strike see about that . strike dates so see about that. and i think in fact and whilst criticising various last time i was on i did defend the right to strike as being a fundamental
8:20 pm
principle of democracy. so i would never suggest we shouldn't have the right strike. but have the right to strike. but i was thinking about own experience . i was a experience of this. i was a secondary school pupil in the mid eighties when . the teachers mid eighties when. the teachers were going on strike . at one were going on strike. at one point i was on a three day week on this the early seventies. it a real experience for schoolchildren . the eighties schoolchildren. the mid eighties i occurred to me the teachers never discussed it with us. they didn't explain why they were going on. they never certainly never apologise . it was just never apologise. it was just accepted that was a part of our of our life. so in a sense that's maybe coloured my experience of strikes and made generally unsympathetic but i also when i was with you a few weeks ago spoke about my concern that there was some greater purpose behind it and politics of course was was the answer . of course was was the answer. and david angel about was on at the time. and suggested to me that the trade union movement is of course, inherently political and knew that the point i was making that some of the
8:21 pm
statements that were being made by particular the head of the commission nursing and of course our friend michael lynch suggested to me that this was about fomenting political unrest, maybe unrest is too strong a word, but when one sees strike after strike , that seems strike after strike, that seems to be in a coordinated manner. and now we have apparently, mr. lynch . suggesting that he should lynch. suggesting that he should be entitled to and see the prime minister , the transport minister, the transport secretary is unqualified to deal with this. i do struggle . to with this. i do struggle. to have any sympathy and to bring it back to you of a phrase mr. lynch is fond of using working people. they used to be working families, but it's broadened to two people. while i'm two working people. while i'm working person and didn't ask working person and i didn't ask for a lot to go the football and occasional holiday you know these are the wishes of the poor for many working people to have these unions potentially depnved these unions potentially deprived people of that in the of an ostensibly that that
8:22 pm
unions the union members rights the way it's brought into working people generally where working people generally where working people generally where working people consulted about it they just left it to deal with it . how can i have any with it. how can i have any sympathy for when they're threatening my journey home from this holiday that i've worked all year and 40 to? you raise fair point. let's speak to susan now. hi, susan. welcome the people's hour. i look forward to heanng people's hour. i look forward to hearing your views on this . it's hearing your views on this. it's always thought that there certain sections that be allowed to strike of the services that they provide are to do with people's lives and i but how you said that i do think they should be paid a very good wage . nobody be paid a very good wage. nobody can have an inflation proof licence because of fuels inflation , but they should have inflation, but they should have a good high grade and the nurses
8:23 pm
pay a good high grade and the nurses pay is being a subject for years and years. i mean, i can go to the 1970s when i went to book the 1970s when i went to book the church from my wedding on the church from my wedding on the vicar there, he didn't charge because he said those. so low paid and that was around 1976 so it's been going on for years and years. but the other thing is when you go into the nhs, you know what the pay grades are and i know there's a cost the living crisis at the moment that we all have to sacrifices everybody got to make sacrifices. you can't keep putting your hands out for no money . and as i say the certain money. and as i say the certain sections that i don't should strike and i think the prime minister get on with the minimum service legislation that he keeps talking about. yeah mean that's the thing. let's, let's bnng that's the thing. let's, let's bring ella in if can susan we've got ella ella whelan who's our
8:24 pm
commentator we've got zachary . commentator we've got zachary. we've got susan . so let's get we've got susan. so let's get her view . and ella, what do you her view. and ella, what do you think about this ? the word think about this? the word i wouldn't i wouldn't use the word sympathy. i'd probably use the word solider because i think zachary is right. it's hard to . zachary is right. it's hard to. have sympathy even if you do support strikes when your day is getting screwed up or your you know, you're being put out. and i think most people know that strike and certainly when they're disruptive. so they essentially they have to upset people , order for them to work. people, order for them to work. otherwise you wouldn't have any clout when you were going your employer to show them that your your removal of your labour makes makes makes a difference . makes makes makes a difference. but the reason why i think it's important have solidarity with the strikers is because actually i think that there are two levels to this. on the one hand, there is the workers in those , there is the workers in those, whether it's a nurse , someone whether it's a nurse, someone working for royal mail, someone
8:25 pm
working for royal mail, someone working for royal mail, someone working for the railways, who is banding together with their fellow employees and saying, you know, we to get better conditions , our employment or we conditions, our employment or we have to a better wage or whatever it is specific to that industry. that's obviously what strikes are mainly about. but i think there is an important second layer going on, which might link to what i think zachary sort of hinting that he might be worried, which is the political level it which actually i wish that was more of which is i think if we did have a more coordinated kind of and strike action , it would it would strike action, it would it would put pressure on government to give up this fallacy this kind of pretence that . it is all our of pretence that. it is all our fault that the we're in a cost of living crisis is just because the way it is and we all have to kind pull ourselves together and our belts to right the ship and i think we really should reject that that's a nonsense. so much the policy making and the decisions that the government has taken in the last four or
8:26 pm
five years, particularly around the pandemic , even around things the pandemic, even around things like , energy policy , it hasn't like, energy policy, it hasn't just been crisis made by either crown virus or the war in russia , the war in ukraine that russia caused, that this is something that has to be laid at the feet of the and they have to answer to it. so a little bit of public pressure in the form of strikes, coordinated or not, i think is to be welcomed. that's why i stand in solidarity with them, even if i don't always have the greatest sympathy for susan. briefly, your prime briefly, if can your prime minister we can but dream , how minister we can but dream, how would you deal with this winter of discontent? what would you say to the rail workers, the nurses , the civil servants and nurses, the civil servants and the others ? well, i would get the others? well, i would get all out on the table and i'd ask them to put down specifically what they want and start negotiating with . because as far negotiating with. because as far as i know, there hasn't been an awful lot of negotiating and
8:27 pm
we're in worst time of the year for all the strikes because like zach saying, you know, he calmed down and say that i can get home but my main worry is the medics the ambulance drivers the nurses and one i would say to them is if they go on strike is a strong possibility that people are going to lose lives because not at the station and at the end of the day you're putting a price somebody's life if you if you are not that your place work why you should be in someone dies but i would say that is to be on their conscience and that would control down so you've put a price someone's life so that's my mind is the medics going on
8:28 pm
strike if our christmas cards don't turn up or parcels don't turn . i'll tell you this turn. i'll tell you this appointed that it's not going to affect you for a long time if you can't you trying to save someone again you're disappointed . but it's not the disappointed. but it's not the end of the world. but with the medics on strike it could end with it being . the end of the with it being. the end of the world, as some people. and that's what i they really need to. think about. that's what i they really need to. think about . and the prime to. think about. and the prime minister needs to start looking the public grades and start giving them decent pay rises. so we don't get in this position where they fail. so bad that with their pay that i want to strike . but i've also to myself strike. but i've also to myself that it strike. but i've also to myself thatitis strike. but i've also to myself that it is political because there's so many people across
8:29 pm
there's so many people across the different board going strike and i saw all this in the seventies and it brought the hate government down. we went through the miners strike and we had blackouts . we had power had blackouts. we had power cuts, we had the industrial day week. there was , bodies in the week. there was, bodies in the street. they strike that we've seen is nothing compared seventies takes absolutely but that doesn't mean to say that they haven't got a reason to ask for a payroll. okay seriously seriously the medics would think you make a series of very compelling the clock's against us zachary but what would you say to a public sector worker who's relying on food at the moment that is on strike i'd be very sympathetic to that person, but would perhaps encourage that person to recognise that
8:30 pm
withdrawal of labour as a method is not the right way. it to be of the season suggested to bring out something that's going to suit both sides and yes it's tragic that people are turning to food banks but this has been a problem for some time it's not been brought about in this current inflationary crisis and i don't believe this weight strikes is going to deal with food bank use and the problems that need to it . so i don't that need to it. so i don't i would encourage that person to recognise that withdrawal of labour can't be the answer . labour can't be the answer. zachary sousa and ella, a fascinating conversation next up is harry the real villain when it comes to the harry and meghan saga? is this a crisis of his own making. we're also going to
8:31 pm
8:33 pm
you know, there was always else to have to deal with , come to to have to deal with, come to terms with, which was all new to me. you know, this was this was the first time, obviously i've beenin the first time, obviously i've been in a situation like that. and you know, incarcerated in germany for nine months and then for three and a half years
8:34 pm
welcome back to mark dolan tonight and the people's hour in which i'm taking your video calls. now let bring you up to date with the football. it's england versus france and it's one. oh, and harry kane equalised. i will keep you of course updated on any goal action and we will get reaction live on the programme after with big sam allardyce . former big sam allardyce. former england manager coming up all songs naff but first there's been a huge focus on the role of meghan markle in the royal drama, including last show with america's top sycophant . dr. america's top sycophant. dr. carole lieberman , who was not carole lieberman, who was not pulling her and this new netflix
8:35 pm
documentary which i suffered through for three plus hours , through for three plus hours, getting more nauseous and more drowsy as it went on. she is very dangerous. you know, she's already that. she's very dangerous. what her one goal in life is to as much attention as she can and she doesn't care who . she destroys in the process . i . she destroys in the process. i think dr. carole gets , a mark think dr. carole gets, a mark dolan tonight backdrop for that. now you go. we do a microphone because i'm risking bloody iphone every every time i do that. now amidst the focus on this one young woman, are we letting , harry, off the hook . letting, harry, off the hook. after all, it's his family , his after all, it's his family, his relationship to the monarchy , relationship to the monarchy, which are central to the story . which are central to the story. and none of this needed happen. if he didn't it to. so it's harry real villain. let's debate that with . adic and sue. let's that with. adic and sue. let's start with atika , i think how start with atika, i think how
8:36 pm
are you going ? evening, mark. are you going? evening, mark. good evening. nice to meet you again. great to have you back on the show. look, there's been lot of focus on whether meghan markle has been the victim of racism. we don't have to go there again . but maybe addict there again. but maybe addict she's victim of sexism that. she's this you evil stepmother who's kind of basically stolen harry from our clutches. and we're harry off the hook . i will we're harry off the hook. i will borrow our last lack of sympathy. both. i don't have sympathy. both. i don't have sympathy to any of them. and it's very, very obviously. it is easy to look aside and just commend what's happening somewhere else. the family , somewhere else. the family, however, is the face of . it's however, is the face of. it's the wrapping of britain. i want my wrapping to be shine me and beautiful. what is happening out there wrapping of britain is being torn into pieces and people judging our country by what is happening to the royal
8:37 pm
family royal family is the cherry on the top of britain and making markle herself when she prince harry i don't think she had in mind that you're going to break down the family of the royal family which is i agree culturally but she's very dangerous person she sense blood but she sense weakness she will do anything to progress to her goal do anything to progress to her goal. however she definitely when she married it was not on how gender will do that . how gender will do that. however, there is some matters that we don't know . deep in the that we don't know. deep in the family that to me it looks like that harry takes meghan markle as a shield , as a source of as a shield, as a source of something that, is very, very deep and basically is standing behind her, something he's covering . we know about . i just covering. we know about. i just basically say, what's the deep issues in the family ? is there issues in the family? is there a difference in harry appearance
8:38 pm
for prince william? differences in voices in the way he speaks. the his voice is there is a gap of intelligence it's absolutely obvious something is going inside the family beside that . inside the family beside that. all the mental health issues that harry discussing which is of course is important but you don't wash your dirty laundry in the public. i mean public of britain in the role that's bizarre and let's think about that he was a pilot he flew apache helicopter. would a person with mental health issues be allowed to actually float helicopter . to and the issues helicopter. to and the issues and basically the issues he has as he come along. that's something that in harry potter made it to happen. i don't know if it's actually driving it , but if it's actually driving it, but it definitely agrees with it and
8:39 pm
takes and stands behind meghan to allow this agenda to happen . to allow this agenda to happen. so it's actually it's a snowball really concern that it become more and worse and worse if. it's not stopped. meghan markle is very capable woman, that's for sure . she has a lot of for sure. she has a lot of skills , but unfortunately she skills, but unfortunately she does not use them for good faith. she takes it to all agenda. faith. she takes it to all agenda . and she can sense blood. agenda. and she can sense blood. she can sense weakness because it's only me . me, me doesn't it's only me. me, me doesn't care about british public doesn't care about the monarchy , doesn't care about anything . , doesn't care about anything. and that's very disturbing. and as as a british national and all the british british people, it's very insulting. it's not a regular family. it's not even the family of a celebrity . it's the family of a celebrity. it's the family of a celebrity. it's the most non—family, probably in the most non—family, probably in the whole world. and the current

and the current climate , and the current climate, probably. people look them for some solace, for some to some comfort with all the difficulties and if we don't have it even from looking at someone that's supposed to be glamorous , it's all gone. it's glamorous, it's all gone. it's disturbing. and there are a lot of issues that it's not clear why they . but i'm concerned that why they. but i'm concerned that harry are going to be supporting harry are going to be supporting harry he definitely definitely allowing it to happen because he's not a bystander. that's guaranteed . fascinating. let's guaranteed. fascinating. let's speak to sue now and get sue's view on this again. there aren't focusing meghan markle , are we focusing meghan markle, are we letting harry off the hook mean? after all, he's the man. he's the husband, it's his family and it's country. so well, i think he's very clear that meghan is
8:41 pm
the one in charge in that marriage and harry isn't . i marriage and harry isn't. i don't think harry's being left off the hook. i think the same was harry is a very nasty person . he doesn't seem to have grown and mentally, even though, he has physically, because i think he still hates the press the same as he did when he was a little boy. his tongue out at them and things when had to tell him off and i think he hasn't that diana's death very well he blames the media for that and he won't accept that the reason mom died was because she got a drunk driver and she wasn't wearing a seatbelt . if she had a seatbelt seatbelt. if she had a seatbelt on, she'd probably still be with us today. and i think did have a plan before she married him . she plan before she married him. she had no no intention of leaving here. hey permanently. she just took a fantastic she had she
8:42 pm
knew at that time anyway that the people of britain to capture the people of britain to capture the heart and i personally didn't even know she was mixed race because she's not black she told why then she is mixed in mixed race element and from what i can understand she always caucasian on the passport stuff before she came here . so i don't before she came here. so i don't see why she's calling racist . see why she's calling racist. and i think the king. the king . and i think the king. the king. i don't think they can takeaway's prince and don't think he should take away the duchess and duke and duchess element . but i think he could element. but i think he could take away hrh properly instead of just asking them not to use it, and he could take away the two. all the titles that harry's got is the earl of dumbarton and the baron of kilkeel. so that maybe my hope is that, you know, the and duchess of st sells
8:43 pm
itself and i think also the king to let the people in the palace who are a staff and leave them free to tell their stories about way they were treated by meghan while . she was there . okay, while. she was there. okay, well, let's bring ella whelan in if we can and we'll also return to adic . well, because it is to adic. well, because it is a very, very heated debate this one is harry being off the hook. is he the real villain is what we're asking. ella i'm trying establish a bit more focus from meghan and towards , but i'm meghan and towards, but i'm fighting a losing battle. all seem to lead to meghan . well, seem to lead to meghan. well, maybe you could take it. and women could take it as a compliment that, you know, we're always seen to be the one in the driving seat. but there is. i think there is. i see what you're trying to do, mark. and i think there probably is a point to the fact that there has been this hate campaign, meghan. i mean , not that she doesn't kind
8:44 pm
mean, not that she doesn't kind of in some ways warrant it because the very kind of american sort of cringe made by also kind element to the oprah interview and this netflix documentary and to the kind of the constant cries of please want everyone leave me alone , want everyone leave me alone, but also watch my family billion dollar and documentary is pretty and i think most people are probably pretty of hearing her whinge of various podcasts and things of that about how beaten down she is in beautiful dresses and the very nice life she has. but it is true that it's harry's family and, his country. and i mean, as somebody who wants to see an end to monarchy, i love the pair of them because i think the pair of them because i think the of continuous catastrophizing that they're doing is hopefully making some people in the uk ask or not we need and want a monarchy if they are basically shaping up to be a kind of dysfunctional family to rival the kardashians in this sort of way i mean addict said that meghan markle has no love
8:45 pm
for this country and doesn't care about. but i mean, why should she? she's she's an american actress who just i'm sure she knew what she was getting into when she married a prince. she doesn't necessarily have to have any loyalty to the idea of the institution , the idea of the institution, the monarchy. and i think the point i would make is that it is the case that we're watching these like celebrities on netflix . like celebrities on netflix. we're debating whether not they get this or that title or , this get this or that title or, this or that cottage . i think it's or that cottage. i think it's time for some bigger questions about the future of the monarchy and whether or not they they actually just what i described as as pretty shiny wrapping . you as as pretty shiny wrapping. you know, i think we could probably do because particularly in relation to the climate, let's do away with all the nice wrapping. let me bring you up date on the football england have been awarded a penalty . have been awarded a penalty. harry kane took it unfortunately did not hit the target he missed . so it's still france to england one with just a few left
8:46 pm
in the game to go it looking fantastic for england at the moment but we've got our fingers crossed that they can equalise in the minutes that remain. we've only got a couple of minutes on left. so i'm going to put a blunt question to all three of you. i'll start with you, dick. how do you give this marriage ? i think the marriage marriage? i think the marriage actually last because meghan is cover for harry. whatever the reason is. and what and unless he issues are addressed within the family, which is a kind of hinted they are might be . always hinted they are might be. always going to use her. it's the issue the rivalry whatever the reasons within the family and he needs the couple and he's not great enough to face by himself and as long as these you feel him you've up he's going to use her and i don't the issues are so deep you're going to continue
8:47 pm
using harry's. deep you're going to continue using harry's . he is benefiting using harry's. he is benefiting from her. okay. so potentially it goes all the way. how long do you give it to ? 5 to 8 years. you give it to? 5 to 8 years. lovely i know that you're a bookkeeper and an you're very good with numbers . do you even good with numbers. do you even feel comfortable answering that question? i wish them all the best . i wish that they'd just best. i wish that they'd just keep it to. and we stop talking about the power of them. yeah, well, split. the well, i'll split. the difference. i give six and difference. i give it six and a half years, but i hope i'm wrong. i wish the couple well, just like all three of us. all four us do. so i think four of us do. so i think brilliant stuff will bring you back shortly to talk about whether are whether christmas songs are naff. discuss that next .
8:49 pm
8:50 pm
know, they're very clean, but you sleep on floor. it's very rough and uneven . and next from nine. in my big opinion, i'm a lifelong devoted fan . but i'm a lifelong devoted fan. but elton john's decision to leave twitter tells you everything you to know about the privileged elite and their attitude to free speech it might take its hand. the royal have warned that
8:51 pm

8:52 pm
christmas last christmas or i wish , it could be christmas wish, it could be christmas every day. these tunes dominate our lives about three or four weeks of every year. and their popularity does not wane week. pop superstar mariah carey once again hit number one with her iconic hit all i want for christmas . so what we iconic hit all i want for christmas. so what we think about these christmas songs. we fond of them because they're familiar or are they just dreadful? that's our final question to the people as our all christmas songs that naff . all christmas songs that naff. let's speak to andrew. hi, andrew hi there, mark. how are you doing today? i'm very well. i love your esoteric background. it's either an expensive jackson pollock or got kids . i don't pollock or got kids. i don't have kids. no so, yes, it's in my . and this is actually the my. and this is actually the songs are really part of culture and even some my admin staff who are half my age and i'm 39 they really like listening to the music it gets in the mood and
8:53 pm
with the doom and gloom we need to kind of have some kind of escapism . and to kind of have some kind of escapism .and i can to kind of have some kind of escapism . and i can even escapism. and i can even remember way in 1994 buying the mariah carey song for bargain price of 10 pm. woolworths because they hadn't even bought the case. they damaged the actual case. but it's one of those songs it brings back really memories. and also, you know, cliff , you know, he was know, cliff, you know, he was number one in christmas when i was five years old and even some of my, you know, 89 year old items and stuff like, oh, yeah, we've heard of that. are you really you do you really remember that ? well and also how remember that? well and also how how you can ignore the fact that one of my hero groups steps you know they were number one at christmas heart they you know tragedy they really enough to kind of have that feel good factor . and also you know going factor. and also you know going back to 1995 you know stay another day and think actually, you know, we need something to give us strength . there's, you
8:54 pm
give us strength. there's, you know, a lot going on in the world. you know, the striking is, you know, is causing lots of issues.i is, you know, is causing lots of issues. i mean i've had post i'm first class that's taken like over to but i actually think the music and being able to stream it live . say for example i it live. say for example i download loaded you know how to get you know the step song on on my phone and you know it really me in a good mood and yes you know these days we can stream and we're to kind of have the ability to connect. of course by the same token i'm very upset the same token i'm very upset the now the top of the pops show has been axed for this year christmas and i and also some of the artists i mentioned obviously you know the wonderful dan wootton they show watch every week time on the thursday he wrote a review some of these back in the you know i mean back in the day you know i mean showbiz broke and you know you've got that from memory having that kind of come i think actually we do need that. and i mean, i would love the steps
8:55 pm
rerelease, you know , i'll be in rerelease, you know, i'll be in charge again , you know, so it charge again, you know, so it gets to number one, hopefully ehhen gets to number one, hopefully either, you know, mariah carey's songi either, you know, mariah carey's song i like hit you know familiarity . my dad like has familiarity. my dad like has song you know as well and love it i think actually yeah it's got that familiarity . and for got that familiarity. and for many people on the autism spectrum , i would probably be spectrum, i would probably be wilson before having that familiarity of routine . it's familiarity of routine. it's actually a way of coping . i actually a way of coping. i completely agree . i think these completely agree. i think these songs are a bit cheesy , but they songs are a bit cheesy, but they have been recorded by some of the greatest artists in the world, including paul mccartney , bob geldof, you name it. so really briefly , please name really briefly, please name check your favourite christmas song. check your favourite christmas song . oh, i would have to. song. oh, i would have to. i miss the time one that you get. what a great one christmas time mistletoe and wine . right. i'll mistletoe and wine. right. i'll stop because i don't want to lose viewers. let's get everyone in boxes and we're going to power around the group. and by

9:02 pm
she's got the headlines. marg thank you. this is the latest from the gb newsroom. least three people have been killed . three people have been killed. an explosion on the island of jersey . the blast happened in jersey. the blast happened in a tower block of flats in the early hours of the morning in st heuen early hours of the morning in st helier. it's the number of casualties could still climb with around a thousand people thought to be still missing . thought to be still missing. chief officer paul brown chief fire officer paul brown says the search and rescue operation could take days. it is a total collapse and the primary challenge is one, it is dangerous to operate in and around area. but secondly , around area. but secondly, anything that we do or don't do in the wrong way might then jeopardise the chances of survival for somebody might yet be able to be , you know, sort of be able to be, you know, sort of rescued. so we have to do everything in a slow methodical way. and we have make sure that all of the right equipment with the right expertise is in place . in order to do that . well, . in order to do that. well, breaking news for you. it's france who have made through to the world cup semi—finals after

9:06 pm
steven spielberg. eat your heart out out . plus, tomorrow's papers out out. plus, tomorrow's papers and uninterrupted at exactly 1030 and in my take at ten, the scandal , the christmas cards scandal, the christmas cards that may not arrive until february . what's the point in february. what's the point in that lot and lots to get through but let's start with this . i'm but let's start with this. i'm a huge fan of elton john i him since i was about years of age i consider him to be a total musical genius easily up there with lennon and mccartney if not better. he's a global for gay rights and his legacy touches everything from the fight aids to watford football club. and he's currently on stage the farewell yellow brick road tour, which is the biggest grossing tour on the planet as we speak not bad . a man aged 75. but not bad. a man aged 75. but let's be honest , he still plays
9:07 pm
let's be honest, he still plays like a teenager. one of the great things about this man is his focus on creating greatest music the world has ever heard in playing the piano brilliantly and in fighting for causes which he's passionate , but he's never he's passionate, but he's never been political . which is why been political. which is why it's a huge disappoint moment to me to see him announce departure from the social platform. twitter here's what he had to say . he tweets, it's all my life say. he tweets, it's all my life . i've tried to use music to bnng . i've tried to use music to bring together , yet it saddens bring together, yet it saddens me to see how misinformation is now being used to divide our world. i've decided to no longer use , given their recent change use, given their recent change policy, which will allow misinformation to flourish unchecked . now i do like the unchecked. now i do like the rather dry response from new twitter owner elon musk, who replied with the following he said to elton i love your music.
9:08 pm
ihope said to elton i love your music. i hope you come back, is there any misinformation in particular that you're concerned about ? and that you're concerned about? and of course there's no answer to that. of course there's no answer to that . elton john of course there's no answer to that. elton john has , a heart that. elton john has, a heart the size of texas and he's incredibly clever and as well . incredibly clever and as well. but his remarks about misinformation are a misjudgements as we've learned throughout the pandemic and throughout the pandemic and throughout history , for that throughout history, for that matter, many things labelled misinformation at the time turn out to be the truth . there was out to be the truth. there was a time when claiming the earth was round were imprisoned, tortured , even killed. but the last i checked, our lovely planet is a perfect circle , challenging, perfect circle, challenging, authored , has good, historic , authored, has good, historic, which is why it's good news that elon musk is restoring free speech to twitter , which for speech to twitter, which for many has now become the digital town square , a marketplace of town square, a marketplace of ideas opinion where all issues can be debated , problem with the
9:09 pm
can be debated, problem with the word misinformation is who decides what means early in the pandemic , it was misinformation pandemic, it was misinformation to suggest covid may have come from a lab in wuhan. now it's a highly likely scenario . at the highly likely scenario. at the time it would have got you cancelled. and don't forget that, many people were taken off twitter for suggesting that covid from a lab it considered heresy in many quarters to argue that lockdowns might ultimately kill more people than covid or that masks or school closures were hopelessly ineffective and, needlessly damaging . these views needlessly damaging. these views may have been right. they may been wrong, but they have their place. i argue history is proving heretical. lockdown sceptics in elton's . there would sceptics in elton's. there would have been no such free discourse at a time when our lives were being drastically through government policy . now biden government policy. now biden said. if you have the vaccine , said. if you have the vaccine, you won't get covid, he said. if
9:10 pm
have the vaccine, you won't spread it. both have turned out to be palpably untrue. they are false. so was that misinformation. you me? do you see the problem ? and i've got to see the problem? and i've got to say, elton's to leave twitter is symptomatic of the privilege elites who are happy to perpetuate any given narrative and crush opinions with which they disagree . not only is elton they disagree. not only is elton john one of the very greatest artists, the world, he's one of the greatest artists in history. but he has benefited from living in a country with a free, open culture where he could express himself his personal life as , a himself his personal life as, a proud gay man, and through music with edgy songs like the is back . and i think i'm going to kill myself, which would be banned or censored in radical regimes . i censored in radical regimes. i love elton and i always will. he was my specialist subject of
9:11 pm
most mine for god sake. 11 questions. 11 right answers. what a sad i am . but this move what a sad i am. but this move smacks of virtue signalling and it goes against that which any artist should stand for, which is freedom of expression . and if is freedom of expression. and if there are some dreadful people on twitter who have unpalatable opinions fair well, the public can read that and they can dismiss it and expose it to scrutiny. but it's all rock and roll. the best possible example that i roll. the best possible example thati can roll. the best possible example that i can to elton about why he's wrong on this one is the journalist , he's wrong on this one is the journalist, barron said , journalist, barron said, permanently suspended by for highly controversial tweets about the covid 19 vaccine. very controversial tweets . berenson controversial tweets. berenson took twitter to court , and he took twitter to court, and he sought to reverse ban. well, he was able to show the judge that every single was based on
9:12 pm
official us government data. in other words , he was publishing other words, he was publishing official statistics for which he got cancelled . now, i think, got cancelled. now, i think, elton, that you'll agree official government statistics are not misinformation , but are are not misinformation, but are in fact information . information in fact information. information the public needs to see the judge threw out the case and upheld his claim and he was reinstated to the platform . what reinstated to the platform. what about one of the greatest medics on planet? professor jay at the university of stanford ? this is university of stanford? this is not a guy who's like a nutter in his grandmother's bedroom, but a revered figure of science, who it's revealed this week was censored by twitter for calling the dangers of covid measures . the dangers of covid measures. it's the world's greatest doctor who was cancelled by twitter . who was cancelled by twitter. his tweets against school closures were restricted so they couldn't be seen by more people. this great man was on a
9:13 pm
blacklist . do you want that kind blacklist. do you want that kind of censorship? elton that's my question because . that's what question because. that's what the founder of spacex elon musk, is trying to eliminate. so that a revered figure like bhattacharya a rock star in his own right can , add to a crucial own right can, add to a crucial debate . so right now it's elton debate. so right now it's elton versus elon. how that the rocket man should fall with the rocket man. it is saturday night and it's alright for fighting, especially with elton john because for the time in his career on this one, he's horribly of tune . i'd like to horribly of tune. i'd like to invite elton john to debate that with me on. this show, you know, the email elton mark@gbnews.uk i would to have your views as well. let me know your thoughts on elton john's decision to leave twitter reacting to that and all of the big stories of the day. we have my panel x
9:14 pm
the day. we have my panel of x factor singer legal research factor singer and legal research katie apprentice star katie waissel, apprentice star and entrepreneur ryan parsons and, former lib dem mp lambert. lambert let me start with you. you are a liberal democrat or an ex liberal, so you believe in freedom. don't and freedom of speech.i freedom. don't and freedom of speech. i totally agree. and i have to say the whole twitter thing , the whole facebook thing thing, the whole facebook thing is , crazy. we are allowed to say is, crazy. we are allowed to say things that those social networks allow . how can that be networks allow. how can that be like free speech when it comes down it? and in my view, this is core question are we allowed to say things ? the social networks say things? the social networks , or are we allowed say things which are uncomfortable but not illegal ? i seem to feel now that illegal? i seem to feel now that based on your amazing monologue when a situation where that are self—censoring and also you don't follow that, then you end up a situation where you will be censored . and i think that the censored. and i think that the bottom line here is elton john,
9:15 pm
legislate decision. i would let him say is but i to him but you can't have that because one person or the other got censored . yes. katie waissel, you may have brushed shoulders with elton in singing . a elton john in your singing. a great artist , elton john in your singing. a great artist, but i think he's got this one wrong. what's your view i mean, all i can think about that he he didn't go into too much information about what the misinformation was so i'm not here to just say whether he was right or wrong about it. not here to just say whether he it's like you said, it's a platform of freedom of speech and everyone's allowed or entitled to say what they should wish, which don't believe should be the case. if we take a look at what kanye west has been saying, it's an absolute atrocity it's disgusting and disturbed. and to be very and i think that there has be a line that's drawn as to what is constituted is legal . well, yes. constituted is legal. well, yes. and of course, kanye been banned by twitter, right? under the managers of elon musk. but the
9:16 pm
point is katy joe you're training to be a lawyer you need to both sides of every argument don't you and i saw great medics like jay bhattacharya cancelled and silenced by under the old management . now we've got new management. now we've got new management. now we've got new management that wants to restore free speech, these great figures and elton not necessarily in that very moment. i mean if we take a look at what elon is doing he's actually baiting and you know it depends on how somebody wants read what elon musk's response was or direct tweets elton john was . i mean tweets elton john was. i mean but you yourself, it just mentions that in a very of dry way. he said, well, i'd to learn more . we don't always have air more. we don't always have air what's going on very publicly but if something's missing , you but if something's missing, you grab the tweet and you go at this rubbish. that's a lie. okay, you don't want katie is you can i just one moment dylan but you don't want a hoodie wearing billionaire in alto california deciding is or is not
9:17 pm
misinformation . and you take my misinformation. and you take my point, katie, about flat—earthers science who said the earth was round which jailed and sometimes tortured. right but but he hasn't stated what misinformation is. there is a lot of misinformation on twitter. i want to say every day on these live spaces, i speak to the general public. listen, i take part in these much needed conversations and very transparent conversations . but transparent conversations. but he hasn't stated anything other than that there is misinformation and many users are there on twitter. billy yes. well, but ryan parsons , i don't well, but ryan parsons, i don't think that elton likes the politics of elon musk is not that donald trump is back there he doesn't like the fact that i know perhaps a can serve it have commentators have had their accounts that's my guess reading between the lines. yeah a lot of these celebrities are taking stance and they all claim to be very morally and they just make these grandiose statements on twitter likes and retweets and that's all is it's all very
9:18 pm
superficial and i think they need to shut up, superficial and i think they need to shut up , to be honest need to shut up, to be honest with you, quite frankly. they just moan bit like what we're seeing with meghan and harry these millionaires privileged individuals like to that individuals just like to that professional whiners and they need to button it to be honest with you. i think twitter is going through healing process. going through a healing process. elon announced new elon musk announced a new feature can actually feature where you can actually see account status to know see your account status to know if you are shadow banned or not. and i think it is actually improving even under elon musk's . so i'm seeing great money in the first place. well, exactly but that's what was happening on the jack dorsey but elon the jack dorsey but under elon musk great change and that musk i see great change and that is the fun of social media. i twitter i'm a user of twitter for the discourse that should be contention that should be contentious expressed on twitter for people to debate otherwise. what the point of social media. i don't i don't see where's i agree 100% free but also there has to be a line drawn between you what is it hate speech and .
9:19 pm
you what is it hate speech and. the i mean there's even policies the legislation there has to be line that's drawn and then the people in the back end and i actually agree with ryan which surprises because i thought that disagreed with him but it comes down to it i think should be able to say whatever the heck you want and the public are not so stupid as to make the wrong decision . so why is that law and decision. so why is that law and legislation basically says that you can about hate speech and stuff like that because . we stuff like that because. we think of the public as stupid. katie we think the public are stupid. obviously you can legislate that's legislate anything that's illegal on twitter will be removed problem removed already. got a problem with that ? it's removed. no with that? it's not removed. no one's even the office. they've all no one can. i all been fired. no one can. i lost my job largely an mp due to libel and i accepted . could have libel and i accepted. could have been litigious , but these days been litigious, but these days i'm a lot more. been litigious, but these days i'm a lot more . but i'm actually i'm a lot more. but i'm actually less inclined to sue because . as less inclined to sue because. as ryan implies . and katie, the
9:20 pm
ryan implies. and katie, the i disagree with you is because the pubuc disagree with you is because the public can make the judgement matt hancock classic example . matt hancock classic example. okay well it's a rich debate will return to that at 1030 because elton is in the papers tomorrow. we are always ahead of the game here mark dolan tonight. so do join us for the papers with the panel at 1030. coming up , papers with the panel at 1030. coming up, we've more coming up, we've got more reaction harry meghan reaction to harry and meghan with kinsey schofield. big allardyce on the programme allardyce live on the programme . a couple minutes reacting . a couple of minutes reacting to england's sad departure to england's very sad departure from world cup they lost to from the world cup they lost to france two one. but next in the big question, is christmas overrated ? hear from both sides. overrated? hear from both sides. don't go anywhere .
9:22 pm
9:23 pm
prison you anything. and i think it was a time where i had a long, hard look at myself and really pulled back the veneer. i came to the conclusion that i didn't particularly like myself . i didn't like the way that i reacted in situation prior to that. so you know, starting i look you're not pulling your punches with elton john who was the topic my opinion monologue think he's a musical genius. i've loved him since i was 11 but he's left twitter. i think it's a big mistake.
9:24 pm
but he's left twitter. i think it's a big mistake . think it's it's a big mistake. think it's an example of the millionaire elite trying to crush the opinions of the normal public. let's have a look at from gordon . hi mark. sounds to me like elton's off to some. has he got a new movie coming out? perhaps. also from karen, your monologue was great tonight mark the best yet. keep up the great work. thank you, karen. and tony. he says i love his music, but on he is wrong. john and it says, we know the reason he's shouting. he is seen today shaking hands. the markle's who is of course. are they all friends of his asked for great artist he's no great artist keep him i want better they go keep those opinions coming mark@gbnews.uk sam allardyce coming up very shortly he'll be reacting to the sad that england are out of the world cup lost two one to france but it's time now this . it's
9:25 pm
but it's time now this. it's time now for the big in which we tackle a major news story of the day. and this is big news. it's just 15 days till christmas . just 15 days till christmas. many are shopping, getting the tree and ordering turkeys. but people hate christmas . it people hate christmas. it reminds them of loved and friends that they've lost . and friends that they've lost. and many people find it a expensive or , stressful time of the year. or, stressful time of the year. with many family members squeezed together under one roof who clearly don't get on. plus, the christmas dinner can either be a triumph or a disaster on who's cooking. it's and does anyone like christmas pudding? so tonight's big question is a simple one is christmas overrate it. to debate this i'm delighted to welcome critic venus o'hara and christmas superfan charlie bryan. charlie can i say you look fabulous. is your look all year round ? mine? no. this is year round? mine? no. this is for the time being. i'm raising for the time being. i'm raising
9:26 pm
for charity . can i say your for the time being. i'm raising for charity. can i say your. you're quite a gorgeous . thank you're quite a gorgeous. thank you. you look fabulous. you're quite a gorgeous. thank you. you look fabulous . so you. you look fabulous. so listen. why do you like christmas so much? charlie i like family time. i like the cosy nights in. i like the christmas dinner. i like giving gifts. what's not to like? really okay, what about turkey, though? it gets very boring , though? it gets very boring, doesn't it? because you got turkey on christmas , then you turkey on christmas, then you got turkey sandwiches on. boxing day, you got turkey curry. the day after that . well, we don't day after that. well, we don't we have a bit of turkey, but we have other as well. so it doesn't get repetitive . take me doesn't get repetitive. take me your day. how will you be celebrating christmas . so i'm celebrating christmas. so i'm usually up about four, 5:00 in the morning for morning things. ready i am making sure i'm up before my kids yet i listen. what are you doing for holiday
9:27 pm
five in the morning? what exactly are you up to then ? exactly are you up to then? making sure i'm up before kids off so i'm okay. making sure i'm up before kids off so i'm okay . usually yeah. off so i'm okay. usually yeah. no one's opening gifts without me present . no one's opening gifts without me present. how many kids have you got ? four. oh, that will you got? four. oh, that will keep busy. yeah. so obviously you love your christmas, venus. oh is with us and you are a christmas sceptic. i'm told absolutely well. i opted out of christmas. many years ago. i actually live in spain , so i'm actually live in spain, so i'm british, but i live in spain so the christmas energy all celebrations are very different here . for example, in the uk here. for example, in the uk it's all about the 25th where in spain actually the 24th in the evening. so the first year i was there i was thinking all doesn't mean anything to me, but that was the only where the streets with and everyone with their with and everyone was with their family . the restaurants were family. the restaurants were closed just such closed and it was just such lonely feeling and yes, i opted out of christmas many years ago and i think it depends on your
9:28 pm
personal i for me i'm childfree i'm single and i'm far away from from family . i'm single and i'm far away from from family. i think it's a time when you kind of also i've a workaholic for many years, not now i have more balance but sometimes if you're so into your work, you look at christmas and it's kind like you look at it's kind of like you look at your personal maybe your personal life maybe your social you don't like social life and you don't like what and christmas can what you see and christmas can be a hard time. well this be a very hard time. well this is much more i've changed my approach to it so i say what do you do what do you do on the on the 25th. well i have a social here in barcelona called barcelona conscious connections and. i'm organising a lunch , a and. i'm organising a lunch, a christmas lunch, a conscious christmas lunch, a conscious christmas lunch, a conscious christmas lunch for a group of people . many of us will be people. many of us will be expats and a lot of people in the similar situations. they're very grateful for this opportunity. and also on the 24th, which is that very depressing day or the time when all the spanish people with their i'll be helping their families, i'll be helping their families, i'll be helping the it's the first the homeless, it's the first year i'm doing as much anyway,
9:29 pm
looking to it to actually do something . obviously you can be something. obviously you can be you self—pity, but you can wallow in self—pity, but there's always someone else who's the so that's who's worse. the muse. so that's why approach this year and why my approach this year and actually looking forward actually really looking forward to and i looking forward to to it and i looking forward to connecting friends and connecting with friends and having off there's having some time off but there's no place as no decorations in my place as you see and i in general you can see and i in general there are are decorations there are there are decorations there are there are decorations there but there's there in spain. but there's still a lot of and it goes on for a long here because they celebrate the kings, celebrate the three kings, they're on the six the january i don't those images make you yearn christmas again venus. absolutely not because i never go to the uk in the end when it's cold always go in the summer. so this for me is kind of like well i did love about there was the east enders episode was always the big scandal know something scandal you know something really discovered really bad would be discovered christmas that's maybe my christmas day so that's maybe my sadistic side or enjoyed that but i mean the tv was quite good. so i mean that's about eight or the other eight turkey or i'm a vegan, so i fancy on the beach. i mean, i actually
9:30 pm
enjoyed sending pictures of me on the beach on christmas day to my family , the uk. but do you my family, the uk. but do you not miss the mince pies, the carols and only fools horses or mary poppins ? well, and only mary poppins? well, and only fools and horses. but i'm very much connected. british tv still. i mean something that i am definitely connected . mince am definitely connected. mince pies, not so much , but i'll be pies, not so much, but i'll be enjoying some other things . i enjoying some other things. i don't really like the christmas sweet things, to be honest. i just i really miss jelly tarts . just i really miss jelly tarts. how much we might have to send you. we'll send a consignment for next christmas . well, look, for next christmas. well, look, you know, penny views there from venus o'hara to charlie. by the way, that footage of those houses and those decorations , is houses and those decorations, is that your streets . no, sadly that your streets. no, sadly not. have you got any good decorations like in the window that the public can see ? how how that the public can see? how how far have you gone with the decorations. your tree looks lovely . thank you . we've only
9:31 pm
lovely. thank you. we've only just done the tree actually, and we've put a few bits and bobs outside , but we live in a cul outside, but we live in a cul sac so we don't get many people this way. so we generally just do the inside of the house. all right. well, it does look gorgeous. i love that tree, is it real or. no, i a real one. but they do run out. yeah, fair enough. but they do run out. yeah, fair enough . although that one will enough. although that one will last for a few years. that's the good news i always think , good news i always think, charlie, it's quite sad when you see trees the street in see the trees on the street in early january kind of like the hangover isn't that. yeah yeah so i wanted one in the part but i couldn't get one. so we've gone with this one again this yeah gone with this one again this year. well i think you've a lovely job. i love your baubles. let's bring my gorgeous panel in, if i can. we've got ryan paulson's katie waissel and lambert opic and lambert , well lambert opic and lambert, well decorated at the best times. are you a christmas fan? i am actually a fan. my late loved
9:32 pm
christmas and i was thinking about this 1975 that was probably my best christmas because i got perfect lego gift . i recognised that see it as a kind of a social thing and twice when she was getting on a bit, she died last, but she had those extra 13 years. i bought her a fake christmas tree and she always used to have the real christmas trees, but she used that 12 years in a row and i have to say that it's not about the christmas you can talk about the christmas you can talk about the philosophic all of the theological elements of it is about getting together and that's what i loved about christmas. oh a lovely what a happy memory . christmas. oh a lovely what a happy memory. parsons, will you be celebrating on the 25th? yes, i'm actually here on the 25th as well. so say. well kind of kind of celebrated sitting there drinking during the day. but i do a bit conflicted on christmas. i do love the celebrations. i love seeing friends. i love the typical
9:33 pm
festivities out winter wonderland , all of that stuff. wonderland, all of that stuff. but i don't meeting the extended i find that very painful around the christmas about is about you know i just find it excruciating me a hundred million questions under the sun i want to hear from you they're all sycophantic so that puts me off in. nice to be naughty yeah. i've been very naughty. we sons come musical katie waissel. but it's all about the christmas dinner, isn't it all the christmas lunch. well, my son is four and a half, and so now i'm really like, at that perfect time where everything is magical and he is just loving every moment from opening the doors of the advent calendars to counting down when he is with papa and g.g. for christmas day and really just as what you were saying about the traditions and the values we instil in each and the togetherness he's also been
9:34 pm
collecting a donation which we always give back to the children's hospice and local area. and so it warms my heart that he's and more understanding what it means is excited to be a part of that so you know what katie that makes me feel about myself and my co panellist slightly ashamed . yeah. yeah. slightly ashamed. yeah. yeah. well it is. did we know it was christmas time? that's all it is . it is a wonderful gesture. and speaking, which very, very quickly, if we can charlie you are fundraising for a brilliant cause this year i which is for kids and they're a really good charity that gives front wishes to children in 18 and under who are terminally leo have life limiting conditions or have severe suffered severe trauma and incredible . nearly 2300 at and incredible. nearly 2300 at the minute on the justgiving page and so we're doing really well that's brilliant so you
9:35 pm
head to just giving and search up wishes for kids. so we got the website as well haven't we charlie. which is for kids. don't co.uk . yeah. and it's don't co.uk. yeah. and it's charlie the elf . just give in charlie the elf. just give in dingle charlie and i pop straight up . charlie the elf on straight up. charlie the elf on just giving perfect christmas gift. if you need inspiration , a gift. if you need inspiration, a brilliant cause. merry christmas charlie to you and your full gorgeous and your other half and i'm sure we'll still be asleep for am also. what a treat to have venus o'hara on the as well venus enjoy the 25th i know it's not a formal christmas you but have a great day lots more to come don't forget at 10:00 it's my take it ten and i'll be deaung my take it ten and i'll be dealing with postal workers who are going on strike. the bottom line is that your christmas card may not its destination until february what is the point in that but next up big sam allardyce reacts to england's
9:36 pm
departure from the world shortly . things could are likely to get much worse in the next two years and the next election, by the way, is two years away. i mean, it's quite a long time. but i mean, inflation goodness knows how long it's going to carry on at 11% or that kind of level, you know, a real cost of living squeeze strikes , industrial squeeze strikes, industrial discontent and all sorts of other prominent health services falling apart. it's difficult to see how stop. i'm sorry. falling apart. it's difficult to see how stop. i'm sorry . a stone see how stop. i'm sorry. a stone sunak gets a grip on, all of that. but then, of course, it's
9:37 pm
9:38 pm
9:39 pm
. you know, i wasn't a conversation with so let's still get some more of your emails shortly on christmas. i do have a rather one. it's from anonymous . it's one. it's from anonymous. it's i am 74. i spent 42 christmases on my own working etc. start to get depressed on december the first. by the 10th, i'm ready to off a building. by the 25th, i'm looking for a building by january the sixth. i've rewritten my again. well, thank you for that rather grave heartfelt message . england are heartfelt message. england are out of the world cup. they've been beaten . two nail, two. one, been beaten. two nail, two. one, two, one. by france. harry kane equalised with a penalty, but wasn't to be. let's straight to qatar now and i'll. reporter and
9:40 pm
breakfast presenter paul . hi, breakfast presenter paul. hi, paul. breakfast presenter paul. hi, paul . hiya, civiles story. i'm paul. hiya, civiles story. i'm afraid one of heartache and drama, really england very conservative in the first half. not really moving the ball with much urgency . france good enough much urgency. france good enough off, although not fantastic of the goal though brilliant from france 17th minute drive from schumann from edge of the box. france going in one else for the break. england much better in the second half. 54th minute. harry kane. penalty which he did put away after bukayo saka was fouled in the box and england growing authority through the game that is until olivier giroud's 78th minute 78th minute header and then came the big moment that everyone's going to be about for four weeks frankly and harry is going to have nightmares about. no wonder he was in tears at the end. england awarded a penalty after mason mount was fouled in the box and harry kane as reliable as he normally is, blasted over the normally is, blasted it over the bar. england went on to lose two
9:41 pm
one. france going through to that semi—final with but for england it's not coming home they're home. well look paul, your coverage in doha and in qatar has been absolute first class. i've loved your interactions the fans. it's been great reporting. and let me put it on record that the best thing come out of this tournament is your suntan. you look amazing . your suntan. you look amazing. oh thank you very much for that. yes. i can't really take much credit for it, to be honest, that just stood around and didn't to honest. but didn't do much to honest. but thank thank you. appreciate thank you. thank you. appreciate that us and you helped that you kept us and you helped us tell wales and england's story during this competition. look forward to seeing you back in the studio in the next few days. paul hawkins. let's now speak big. sam allardyce . of speak big. sam allardyce. of course, one of the most experienced and successful managers of his generation . and managers of his generation. and sam disappointment all round. what went wrong, do you think,
9:42 pm
gaffer ? well it's plain and gaffer? well it's plain and simple i think that you can't afford to miss. see the opportunities you create. and if you've got a penalty, you simply can't afford to miss it. and of course, the most reliable penalty that we have in the team is, is the captain harry kane and unfortunately for him, not the pressure was too much. i think that you can all say and look and say what happened there, but clearly pressure got to harry in the end . it's to harry in the end. it's enormous pressure because i reckon if it was two to i would have scored to take us through. but i think to bring level at that stage, it was just a little too much for him pressure wise that got under the ball sky over the top. but it's terrific , the top. but it's terrific, particularly in the second half by england . and they have by england. and they have matched the world's champions. there's no doubt about that . in there's no doubt about that. in fact, bettered the world champions in the second half. so there's a lot to be positive about, even though . we don't
9:43 pm
about, even though. we don't feel at moment and feel like it at the moment and certainly the england team the backroom staff will be very dejected on the back of the and in the second bettered france or the world at the moment southgate has had a few good tournaments he's england a fair way but never quite cross line. do you think that the fa will be looking for a new head coach, a new manager in the months ahead . tha new manager in the months ahead. tha pfa they are saying gareth himself getting together and i think that they are definite they connected together and will come together and review the whole of the tournament at the end of this and say where do we go from here. and i think that it would be more for me that gareth would would want to move on, let somebody else take over, then it would be for the fight to actually look somebody else.
9:44 pm
that's my feelings the moment. and i think this camera they have between and the young talent that's in the squad , talent that's in the squad, certainly the euros to go for in a couple of years . so i'd be a couple of years. so i'd be surprised if he's not carrying on for at least next two years. all interesting. so you think he might a crack at the euros ? yes, might a crack at the euros? yes, i do . i think that he i think he i do. i think that he i think he looks at that team and there's nothing better as manager looking at looking at the team and looking at its quality and saying, have i have a very, very good squad and i have a very good squad and i have a very good team and, international, national level. and every wants to work with the best. and i think that is the best thing in the world for many, many years. so i think he with it and so i think he should with it and he with experience he was he grows with experience he was in xperia and when he took over is experienced grown and grown as well as the young lads that joined that time and more joined him in that time and more young lads coming through. so we
9:45 pm
all better and hopefully all getting better and hopefully resilient and in the end hopefully we can we can clinch the tournament and that would have to be in a couple of years time. a couple of quick ones for you, sam. do you think that harry kane an outstanding harry kane is an outstanding professional? he's great athlete, . athlete, incredibly talented. will he be able to move on from that missed penalty or that his, no pun intended gareth southgate moment it haunt him. will it haunt his career career. i will say it the next penalty at tottenham when he gets home. so won't have a problem with that. so i he's he's that type of player and that type of current. so while it will take him a while get it, it will, while to get over it, it will, it will go back to tottenham and he be the chief penalty he will be the chief penalty taker. that in the taker. and i think that in the you know, you can be 100% as a penalty taker. unfortunately you don't want to miss it when . it don't want to miss it when. it matters the most. and course it mattered the most in this in this particular game. you know and the sad thing for me was the
9:46 pm
second goal for france . i think second goal for france. i think that we could have avoided that . i think that we should have defended that better . and of defended that better. and of course, because we we course, because we didn't, we ended and ended up behind again and getting little bit desperate. but when we that penalty, i but when we got that penalty, i felt that we were going to go into time again and see where we went from there . yeah, that's went from there. yeah, that's right. go extra time , right. you go into extra time, all off. who's going to all bets are off. who's going to win do you think some . wel win this cup, do you think some. wel that they've got the resilience . certainly will. they have the most manager of all in the world cup.soi most manager of all in the world cup. so i think france the team to beat certainly by the fact that they can play on the power england showed that how good they were by making france look under—par particularly in the second half but they still a way to get through and that's what we have to do. we have find a way to get through these in these tournaments if we are not playing our best we've still got
9:47 pm
to try and find that yet. big sam it's my view that you are the one that got away . but the one that got away. but you're still young, you're still fit . of course you an absolute fit. of course you an absolute passionate fan of well, you know you're getting it done, have you another big job in you . if one another big job in you. if one comes up mark have a big job in the which when the sun up whether when somebody picks the phone up and raised me so i always say if they do that then i'll be very interested but we would to wait and say can't would have to wait and say can't i can't actively what job i'm going get somebody to going to get somebody needs to ring and say will you come ring me up and say will you come in the matches my football club andifs in the matches my football club and it's that's right for me and for them then i'll be delighted to and they've got any sense to. and if they've got any sense , they will pick up that phone. big , it's been the greatest big sam, it's been the greatest privilege have on show, privilege to have on the show, and i you'll return to the and i hope you'll return to the programme and talk programme soon and we can talk about else, including about everything else, including sorting which sorting out this country which is in a right royal mess. big sam for prime. that's what i
9:48 pm
call a big job and he could certainly the country out . certainly sort the country out. we talk from the we need a team talk from the voice of common sense . brilliant voice of common sense. brilliant stuff. thanks to big sam . next stuff. thanks to big sam. next up, let's get to our rather exciting news agenda . and it's exciting news agenda. and it's going to be simple one, which is should we be feeding wild that go anywhere . brand and just pitch himself as. a s it? what was that theresa may? strong and stable , you know, strong and stable, you know, pitch himself as a safe pair of hands? because i know the tories are unpopular, but i don't think that anyone particularly likes c'est armour. well, i think people are not in by starmer in the same way they were by tony benn. the same way they were by tony benn . sorry tony blair and tony
9:49 pm
benn. sorry tony blair and tony benn. sorry tony blair and tony benn. tony blair 25 years ago. oh harold wilson , 1964. you know oh harold wilson, 1964. you know that. oh harold wilson, 1964. you know that . wilson and blair in those that. wilson and blair in those days. that. wilson and blair in those days . and in a way, starmer is days. and in a way, starmer is modelling himself on both men and i mean his conference speech this october i thought was actually one of the best leaders speeches i've ever heard. and it's so much better he was doing two years ago. he's performing much better now. confidence is up . got a step, has it? we're up. got a step, has it? we're talking about
9:51 pm
pages of a of a diary that was keeping at that time but it was a good to stop and i think from that point i became a better communicator. i think the only thing prison taught me from , the thing prison taught me from, the time that i spent in there i'm going to talk about feeding wild at the moment, but let me bnng wild at the moment, but let me bring you up to speed on the world cup england are out it's a real shame they lost two one to france the great harry kane one of my footballing heroes the second penalty he did score the first and before we get to feeding wild animals but you've got some quite strong views about of england's about the nature of england's departure all familiar. departure all too familiar. yeah. southgate this in i yeah. southgate did this in i think he missed a penalty .
9:52 pm
think 96. he missed a penalty. we've now got a situation where he had to do one thing he had to do one thing, had one job, kick it in goal. he missed the goal if actually the goalie had had to save as forgivable so he did what they say in football terms that you've to hit the target that you've to hit the target that means at least a team the ball fall within the posts and. i don't think he's ever going to live that down. i can't i'm sorry to how harry kane can sorry to say how harry kane can can need of our can ever need one of our international teams again. it's heartbreaking. and the idea that gareth gets another gareth southgate gets another tournament. i don't think so i mean know leadership mean you know about leadership you about . yes yeah. and you know about. yes yeah. and you've been in the apprentice and guy. okay he's an okay manager but he has not taken this company to the sort of footsie 100 as he. no, i agree. and if he the apprentice i and if he were the apprentice i think lord sugar with size think lord sugar with the size of minor. yeah probably he's probably tools now probably a couple of tools now listen recently visiting a listen after recently visiting a local the ducks local to feed the ducks a pensioners slapped with a fine of 150 quid. william varnum visited water mead park in with
9:53 pm
his wife and his 99 year old disabled aunt to feed the ducks . but listen, it begs the question, is it to feed wild animals ? what do we think my animals? what do we think my mark? do you do feed wild animals? i do . i guess in my animals? i do. i guess in my local park, i have a dog, i think other cockapoo and i'm always at the doctor about. i'll off the shelf you finally show you know i've you got a big escapade oh pretty big hairy spider by the hand and that sort of stuff . it's just too much to of stuff. it's just too much to like a sewer ryan, mark and were nicely brought up with you just talking about the dog and about breeds, aren't we. yeah, exactly. that's exactly what was. you made a space. so was. so you made a space. so what do you. what what creatures do park? i feed all do you feed the park? i feed all of the creatures and the thing in the ponds i it's just in the ponds i feeds it's just a dog.so in the ponds i feeds it's just a dog. so it's a bits of bread or whatever. and i don't see an issue fact that ealing issue in the fact that ealing council not find this poor council have not find this poor who's 68 , £150 for just feeding who's 68, £150 for just feeding the dogs. it's ridiculous. it's
9:54 pm
not he dumped a sort of not like he dumped a sort of loaf of bread, you know, into the water . but these these were the water. but these these were seeds, right ? exactly. i wonder seeds, right? exactly. i wonder if any signs that if there were any signs that say, feed these duck . no, say, do not feed these duck. no, i believe the ealing councillor said he was littering . yes. said he was littering. yes. which ridiculous because it's which is ridiculous because it's not . does that constitute not litter. does that constitute does is . no, it does that constitute is. no, it doesn't. i completely agree you on when comes down to on this. when it comes down to it. make sure there is no it. let's make sure there is no wild animal life in any park anywhere in this country because the bad for the environment because there is no climate crisis that's expected it's all connected to that not well lots and lots of people think there is a climate crisis. but one thing is interesting is plenty of will tell you that you shouldn't be giving bread to birds, for example, that not actually okay actually good for them. okay let's look at the let's have a look at the statistics let's see the data i grew up giving bread to ducks and actually ap park, which is also in leicester and nobody came and said oh, that's pretty bad. that's a reality check, maybe animals know what's good
9:55 pm
for them. but what about creepy old ladies that feed pigeons ? old ladies that feed pigeons? yeah, they need to be stops . i yeah, they need to be stops. i think that that's. there's a line that needs to be drawn. oh wait who looks after looks after the animals like that. oh, my gosh. ducks in the ponds at gosh. the ducks in the ponds at the parks if they're there if this is makes sense i guess. well they wild aren't they i mean surely they they the that yes they they are they in a pond which is put in a park by the park . i'm which is put in a park by the park. i'm sure which is put in a park by the park . i'm sure they just see and park. i'm sure they just see and the surely that they should provide the right food so that we can then feed them. won't food and live happily ever after . i think it just shows a lack of human councils have these targets and they're just hounding people to make money and. they're greedy and i think it's cruel . and. they're greedy and i think it's cruel. in a cost of living crisis, this poor man who's in the seventies is yeah, it's been hit by this amount of council of disgusting. you see a council officer don't feed him briefly. i've got a friend who feeds the foxes. yes. oh vermin. vermin should . be in prison. yeah, if
9:56 pm
should. be in prison. yeah, if possible except i would, i would shoot them. i mean the foxes, i mean my neighbours . we'll, we'll mean my neighbours. we'll, we'll get more very, very sure . am i. get more very, very sure. am i. we've got the papers exactly. 1030. you can set your watch to it. next up kinsey , the queen us it. next up kinsey, the queen us royal reporting is going to be talking about the fallout from. harry and meghan's tv documentary. and it's interesting , the hollywood interesting, the hollywood a—list have given the cold shoulder . a—list have given the cold shoulder. and in my take it ten, i'll be talking about letters that you're sending this christmas that may not arrive until february. what's the point in that to get through? see you .

10:02 pm
told the team and gareth southgate have a lot to be proud of amongst the world champions. there's no doubt that. in fact bettered the world in the second half. so there's a lot to be positive about even though we don't feel like it at the moment . and certainly the england team , the backroom staff will very dejected on the back of the matched and in the second bettered france were the world champions at the moment officials say searchers will continue through the night following the deaths of at least three people following an explosion on the island of jersey. the blast happened in a tower block of flats in the early hours of the morning in st heuen early hours of the morning in st helier. it's fair the number casualties could still climb with around a thousand people thought to be missing , chief thought to be missing, chief fire paul brown . the fire officer paul brown. the search and rescue operation could take days. it is a total collapse . and so the primary collapse. and so the primary challenge is that, one, it is dangerous to , operate in and dangerous to, operate in and around the area. but second,
10:03 pm
early , anything that we do or early, anything that we do or don't do in the wrong way might then jeopardise the chances of survival for somebody who might yet be able to be you sort of rescued. so have to do everything in a slow methodical way and we have to make sure that all of the right equipment with the right expertise is in place in order to do that energy regulator says it's extremely concerned that vulnerable people in sheffield have been without gas for a week . hundreds of gas for a week. hundreds of customers were left without heating after a water birth last friday. such rate in the gas network. ofgem described the situation as extremely difficult, made worse by the sudden cold snap distribution company. cadent says affected homes and commercial properties will be automatically compensated . rmt general compensated. rmt general secretary mick lynch has called for urgent meeting with the prime minister is to try to resolve the running dispute over pay resolve the running dispute over pay and for rail workers . union

10:06 pm
and sympathise with those going on strike , millions of brits in on strike, millions of brits in all sectors are struggling financially because the invisible cancer inflation is raising the costs of fuel , raising the costs of fuel, energy and essential goods and the working poor are now using foodbanks the value of their wages has been so diminished inflation . the problem is you inflation. the problem is you can't fight inflate with pay rises . that's like can't fight inflate with pay rises. that's like using a flamethrower to put a fire out . flamethrower to put a fire out. as we saw in the 1970, when union bosses were winning settlements of up to percent. that's right. you heard me right . 30. the cost of prices is just spiralled further across the board. public sector rises amounts to an arms race with inflation . and that's a fight inflation. and that's a fight you never win. posts nurses, pubuc you never win. posts nurses, public sector lawyers, train civil servants their demands for more money . doubt have merits .
10:07 pm
more money. doubt have merits. but if they all get their way with a combination of surging baked into our economy for years to come as as more eye—watering debt. to come as as more eye—watering debt . these pay rises will from debt. these pay rises will from borrowed billions . britain will borrowed billions. britain will sink further into the economic quicksand . i wish . it wasn't quicksand. i wish. it wasn't this way, but we shut the country for two and a half years. we borrowed a trillion quid to pay healthy people to stay at home, and we closed once viable businesses all in an historic attempt to stop a seasonal risk bigotry virus. i pointed this out at the time. but here we are we've made our bed. we've got a lie. it's britain is broke for nurses to strike sets a precedent for the rmt union to strike over is cruel and posties to go on strike is self—destructive. it just discourage customers from sending letters. they'll use email and it will push customers
10:08 pm
into the arms of dhl and hermes for their parcel deliveries. postman pat must be furious and i've no doubt his is raging. well, it's postman pat and his black and white cat, isn't it? and what do you think? mark@gbnews.uk do ? you have mark@gbnews.uk do? you have sympathy for those going on strike? i do. i've got . but the strike? i do. i've got. but the country's broke the cupboards bare. there's no money . what are bare. there's no money. what are you going to do ? reacting to my you going to do? reacting to my big opinion and, the papers at 1030 sharp are apprentice star and entrepreneur orion. mark parsons , x factor, singer and parsons, x factor, singer and legal researcher katie waissel and lib dem mp and filmmaker limpet. opaque katie, what do you think about the post? he's going on strike breaks my heart because you know, they have an absolute right to stand up what they believe in you know and
10:09 pm
what they much deserved and have worked so hard for the cost of as you've said is a forever increasing and the way it should be reflective that so it's really bigger question is what's going to happen with the budget what what's government saying about this ? i mean, look, katie, about this? i mean, look, katie, i think the bottom line that my view is that i think in the pubuc view is that i think in the public sector, many in the private sector merits a pay inflation is making everyone poorer? but the money going to come from we can't borrow any more money. and these pay rises are inflationary and inflation is the biggest problem . i agree is the biggest problem. i agree with you, but but what are they going do about that? i mean, i keep hearing about this digital currency and this digital banks . i mean, they may as well . so i mean, they may as well just do it already. we can figure this out. no well the economic forum, klaus schwab mean. i don't don't stand for
10:10 pm
it. i'm just saying, like on my twitter sphere , another of those twitter sphere, another of those celebs does being got out . no celebs does being got out. no way. i'm just to death of like people the buck and kicking the can down road the government are in charge of budgets and they've got to figure it out they can't they can't keep us in a hot potato got to do something about it already because it is having such a severe impact on people's lives as you've just seen with the people with their gas was for a substantial of time. people are vulnerable and also from a financial standpoint, i mean, the gas and electric bills alone it just everything's going up and you know why should opposed these and walk up and down the streets in the freezing cold knowing that the government should be giving them a pay rise you know just they're basically a doormat . ryan parsons , you are a doormat. ryan parsons, you are an entrepreneur, so you're a money man, but you're a negotiator as . well, so how
10:11 pm
negotiator as. well, so how would you handle these strikes if you were in charge ? well, i if you were in charge? well, i think it's all about negotiation and the trouble is, with these union leaders , very difficult to union leaders, very difficult to come to a resolution with these kinds of because they are so arbiter free and they're not willing to listen . and what willing to listen. and what i see now is a december of chaos. i'm possibly months of chaos forwards into the new year. we're talking about 100,000 nurses going on strike and that is now leaving 15,000 operations being postponed , talking about being postponed, talking about ambulance workers going on strike , putting lives at risk. strike, putting lives at risk. this is dangerous and they're not. the chaos that they are causing. there's no recognised thing in the union leaders that i'm willing and demanding these hefty price increases . and as hefty price increases. and as mark says in, terms of dealing with the dealing with inflation as prices go up, salary is will happen. if salaries go up,
10:12 pm
pnces happen. if salaries go up, prices will go up and you can't fight with fire. so the has to be a point where these union leaders can come together with the government and are willing and open minded to negotiate and come to a settlement that is reasonable for both parties, but isn't happening. and they're putting risk that putting lives at risk and that is unacceptable . but maybe the is unacceptable. but maybe the government has to table government has to come to table too, than being on them. too, rather than being on them. of the of which we're presenting it, as i understand what you're saying. but really , why is it saying. but really, why is it that the people in government are getting pay rises yet the people are putting absolute even their lives at risk? if we if we go back to the pandemic etc. that have absolutely given their lives and also just cost to the side and neglected yet the people up in up in the house of commons are having their cheese and one. well i actually feel very for the armed service workers because whilst the border force go on border force workers go on strike these servicemen women are actually going to stand in their places when should their places when they should actually be spending quality
10:13 pm
time with their families. so i actually great, a great actually feel great, a great deal those deal of sympathy towards those men and, women that have fought for country, that are now for our country, that are now checking passports and controlling borders. think controlling our borders. i think it's totally egregious and more needs done by union needs to be done by union leaders just be more leaders to just be more reasonable and, come to some agreement with the governments to find a resolution . but is it to find a resolution. but is it the government's fault for not doing more to resolve this , this doing more to resolve this, this issue? yes is, but not for the reasons we've discussed so far. you may think have stuck record about the environment but the fundamental problem is the reason that the uk has got the worst inflation in just about any developed country is because we've got this idiotic energy policy policy. we think that we can stop climate change. climate will always change but energy roughly 70% more expensive than it was . that's where it goes it was. that's where it goes wrong . i'm actually more wrong. i'm actually more sympathetic than brian to the
10:14 pm
claims for the increases they ask for, but the government has to recognise unless they actually changed energy policies, we're going to get nine, ten, 12% inflation. the second problem, a small number of banks are trying to destroy credit ratings of individuals. i'm not going to name one of those banks, but doing it to me , i will come back your show in a week's time. , i will come back your show in a week's time . they haven't a week's time. they haven't negotiated with me about this. my credit rating should be good, but they don't care. so the second problem here is the banks don't some banks don't give a. the big ones are responsible they'll come and name and shame bank one of the banks which is not doing that that's destroying hundreds of lives. let know your thoughts on the strikes and specifically the posters do they deserve a pay rise ? i love my deserve a pay rise? i love my postman and he's a brilliant and they come in all weathers. it's
10:15 pm
a great service but as i've the economy is broke i don't know what the answer please offer yours market gb news dot uk next we've got the papers and. we've got the queen of us showbiz royal and political reporting kinsey schofield with us reaction to that documentary from harry and meghan shortly . good evening. i'm sanchez in the gb newsroom, a child with a suspected case of strep a has died . sussex, bringing the total died. sussex, bringing the total number deaths in the uk to 16. the uk health security agency confirmed child was a student at park school. it confirmed child was a student at steep sleaze scandals and so on. the whole problems of suella

aid dejected harry kane his team england are out the world cup and next up the euros. meanwhile labour vows war on health unions. there you go. so sir keir starmer, a robust position when it comes to striking workers and the observer. let's have a quick look at the observer . we get to kinsey will observer. we get to kinsey will suspend strikes if you talk about pay health unions. yeah well that's that's the unions always negotiate that's not a story but that the observer that was the sunday telegraph we got all of the rest of papers at exactly 1030 with full panel reaction. it's time now for us news with the queen of us, showbiz royal and political reporting, kinsey schofield . hi, reporting, kinsey schofield. hi, kinsey . what week? i feel like kinsey. what week? i feel like i haven't slept in days , no. have haven't slept in days, no. have you put a machine in your bedroom now? yeah yeah,
10:20 pm
absolutely. i mean, and a puke bucket for every time. i have to rewatch the trailer and the show a fast 18 story in the daily mail newspaper about the damage of this new series, harry and meghan which of course the first half of which dropped on thursday three one hour episodes . the impact it will have on william harry's relationship . william harry's relationship. can these brothers ever reconcile , mark, this is a reconcile, mark, this is a really difficult this is a really difficult this is a really difficult this is a really difficult situation . and really difficult situation. and harry basically insults katherine and william multiple times throughout that 3 hours insinuating that william's specific only married to fit the mould of a woman that would be acceptable . the royal family. i acceptable. the royal family. i don't know who else he would be talking about talking about how no one else can marry for love. when his married his mistress i mean dad lucked out . and you mean his dad lucked out. and you know what's interesting about this story in the daily mail is
10:21 pm
they say that no matter angry william is , they say, well, william is, they say, well, there's no going back for william he's his wife , william he's insulted his wife, love of his life. there's no going back. but no matter how angry william william not angry william, william does not want anyone talking negatively about to him. and i think tells us exactly the kind of man william is he you know you wake up i imagine over there mark and thank god that william is the heir because . he is a true heir because. he is a true leader. he has a good heart and he is a good man. i spoke to former editor of the sun , kelvin former editor of the sun, kelvin mackenzie on thursday when i was sitting for in mark steyn. and by the way , you were you joined by the way, you were you joined us on that show as well. it was a brilliant interview that we had. and kelvin said , it's time had. and kelvin said, it's time for palace to get tough with for the palace to get tough with this they've tried this couple. they've tried appeasement. this couple. they've tried appeasement . they they've tried appeasement. they they've tried these softly approach . do these softly softly approach. do you anticipate a in tack from the firm ? you know mark? the firm? you know mark? i really don't. i think that the
10:22 pm
royal family's going to continue to distance themselves through silence. we above this we are royalty you are reality show celebrity you. we're not taking your calls anymore and actually i think that this is not necessary about race. i think that it's meghan markle, you know, just livid over the fact that feels rejected by the prince and princess of wales. you can look the total montage of all of her friends throughout the 3 hours. and it's meghan and all of her white friends. i'm just like, where what? how are we just respecting culture when it seems like you just discovered it as well ? yes. and discovered it as well? yes. and it seems that meghan and harry have thrown shade at william and kate's some implication that kate's some implication that kate is a kind of stepford wife, if you like in royal terms that she's a cut—out a in waiting someone that fits mould and it's ridiculous i mean you can i gave
10:23 pm
you this example when i saw her in boston she wanted to stay inside she was loving on puppy dogs she was you know she was loving on babies if you had a baby next to you she made a beeune baby next to you she made a beeline to you. this is a very affectionate and woman. i think that william catherine were both very protective . harry and their very protective. harry and their best metre rang true when stumbled upon meghan markle and they were just being careful. i mean is kate middleton , a royal mean is kate middleton, a royal robot ? absolutely not. robot? absolutely not. absolutely not. we're getting to see so more of her. we've got this christmas special up on the 15th that harry and meghan are looking to ruin through dropping their three episodes on the at their three episodes on the at the same time . no mean she is the same time. no i mean she is she's glamorous she's stoic , she's glamorous she's stoic, she's glamorous she's stoic, she's beautiful. she's fabulous . but she's protective of her and rightfully so . i also think and rightfully so. i also think you need to keep in mind that the time meghan was a single woman, she tells you she was just trying to her single life when she stumbled upon. and
10:24 pm
catherine mother of she's catherine is a mother of she's a human jungle gym got all these babies crawling all over her and that's where she wanted to she wanted be with her. she wanted to be with her. she didn't want to be running around with declaring that with this girl declaring that this is her single summer or whatever . this is her single summer or whatever. has this is her single summer or whatever . has there been whatever. has there been friction between kate's and meghan a long time? would you say ? i think that meghan thought say? i think that meghan thought so i just think that kate has aboveit so i just think that kate has above it all and the princess wales had other priority is like her children like her duty, like her children like her duty, like herjob.i her children like her duty, like herjob. i think they her children like her duty, like her job. i think they were very protective of harry, they loved him. i mean, he was the adorable, quirky wheel for such adorable, quirky wheel for such a long time. and catherine had become close to some of his ex—girlfriends and knew what they were going to deal with, knew what they had dealt with . knew what they had dealt with. and just don't think meghan and i just don't think meghan was similar to the was, similar to the ex—girlfriends and i think catherine was worried they talk about how the family didn't like meghan was an actress . we know meghan was an actress. we know that's true. we know that that's not true. we know that they encouraged her to continue
10:25 pm
acting but i when you know that somebody is pursuing a career in an entertainment it makes you wary of if utilising your brother in law to elevate themselves , elevate their career themselves, elevate their career . harry and meghan's a—list friends appear to have gone very this week. the obamas and others tell me more george clooney. where's george clooney ? oprah. where's george clooney? oprah. i mean the second the queen died, oprah sitting in of a now we just lost the line to kinsey schofield . i've got to say, it schofield. i've got to say, it was the most fascinating week in terms of royal stories . and on terms of royal stories. and on thursday, three more episodes drop . we'll be covering that drop. we'll be covering that live gb news with more coverage . kinsey, i think we lost the line, but we've got you back. i think that was meghan. i think she was outside apartment in hollywood. she cut through the internet cable because she'd enough. yes oh you know it was elton john was trying to shut us
10:26 pm

the press and let us start with the press and let us start with the sunday telegraph and here's what they're leading with and you can imagine and you can guess what this will be the world cup, of course, england are out. they lost two. france, two one. harry kane scored the first penalty, but he missed second. dejected and devastated. look at the pain in his eyes. england pay the penalty , say the england pay the penalty, say the sunday telegraph . meanwhile, sunday telegraph. meanwhile, labour vows war on health at nhs, nhs must reform or die. says shadow health secretary as country braces for a wave of strikes cuts country braces for a wave of strikes cut s £7 billion spending strikes cuts £7 billion spending on woke project arts and peace tell chancellor and asylum seekers in hotels could be recruits hit by islamist group . recruits hit by islamist group. if you could do me a printout of that with a little bit better accuracy on the typeface because i'd like to get into the meat of that story. could of the sun.

let's get to the observing . we let's get to the observing. we will suspend strikes. if you talk about pay , say, health talk about pay, say, health unions. health unions , a unions. health unions, a dramatic offer last night to suspend a wave of planned strikes that threatened to cripple the nhs over christmas and the new year if ministers agree to open serious discussions over pay . also, discussions over pay. also, atlas, lyons raw balloon top footballer celebrates after morocco defeated portugal one nil in qatar to become the first african side to reach the world semi—finals . and it could have semi—finals. and it could have been us . i semi—finals. and it could have been us. i think we semi—finals. and it could have been us . i think we got the been us. i think we got the express now is that right? where should we go next? what would you like folks ? let's go to the you like folks? let's go to the express and see what they've got out of work . it's off express and see what they've got out of work. it's off england. pay penalty in world cup thriller with france and christmas strikes cost £4 billion and blanket warns voters will blame former home secretary
10:33 pm
under new labour david blunkett sunday. people now brave world cup stars about qatar heroes penalty for england and harry kane now we'll get some more of the front pages shortly, but let's get now from x singer and legal trainee and charity founder katie waissel . what founder katie waissel. what a life, what a career. and she's only about 25 and another extremely prolific and that works it's the other one we are ahead of time a few years ahead of your time precocious ryan mark parsons and a wise head on young shoulders. let the other way round. hey guys the silver fox that he is so lots and lots of stories here to tackle. i'm interested by this story ryan mark parsons labour vows war on
10:34 pm
health unions not headline you would expect so this is keir talking tough with the unions which dovetails with that story in the express how labour grandee david blunkett says that labour are going to have to stand up to these unions, otherwise the public blame labour for the strikes not the tories now. and i think the right way to go about it, we see in the express as well that it's costing a lot of money. these strikes costly and they are dangerous . i strikes costly and they are dangerous. i think that that's the stance labour to take if they're going to win the general election, they need to have these stances. it needs to be explicitly clear to the electorate . they have to be electorate. they have to be tough on unions because it is costly, it is dangerous. and if it is left on ambiguous , then it is left on ambiguous, then where a voter turn to? where does a voter turn to? yeah, well , it's where does a voter turn to? yeah, well, it's a where does a voter turn to? yeah, well , it's a challenge for yeah, well, it's a challenge for labour because they want to win at the next election . but if the at the next election. but if the unions are out of control and causing inflation and causing the national debt to grow , the national debt to grow, that's not a great proposal. a offer to the british people will get in, we'll give them more pay
10:35 pm
rises and we'll more rises and we'll have more inflation of debt. well, i inflation of more debt. well, i don't like that. don't look at it like that. i just that, you know, based just think that, you know, based on another another paper where the unions have said that they will be willing to put a stop to this strike, how many them should ministers actually sit and take them seriously? well, what's the underlying message there is that up to this moment, i mean, we don't really technically what goes on behind closed doors, do we we're not in on those meetings. if meetings at and then literally just at all. and then literally just in what's said here is just saying just, listen to us and take us seriously. well just want more money. i mean, i believe rmt have believe the rmt have been offered 8. is that right limit? i what goes on behind i do know what goes on behind closed hypocrisy . the challenge closed hypocrisy. the challenge ihave closed hypocrisy. the challenge i have against starmer i don't dislike him as a but i completely dislike disingenuous behaviour . completely dislike disingenuous behaviour. here is how can you behaviour. here is how can you be paid for as a party the unions then declare war on them. what happens if they become the
10:36 pm
government do they give them the 1115 20% pay write pay rise means all the self—employed will suffer or do they up to the very people who sponsor the labour party and labour party is at the best of times in financial trouble isn't it. they're broke. oh well basically under tony blair he actually the blinder he was very impressive and the midnight nineties but he played different game it seems to me my view that keir starmer wants to be tough on the unions to take their money so keir if you're watching now please explain to us how do you take the money but then play tough terms of the strikes which you think is a strategy for labour to get in. do you think that this is the pubuc do you think that this is the public strike ? yes, i think they public strike? yes, i think they they like the think they want to look like they're to be tough on the unions. i don't think the pubuc the unions. i don't think the public appreciate these strikes. he went right by and said, oh,
10:37 pm
we're going to be really good with the unions and we're with with the unions and we're going for business. going to be good for business. how you say at the same time how can you say at the same time as saying to the unions? well, sort it all contradictions is fine . yeah, it's vastly fine. yeah, it's vastly hypocritical, but i don't a way they're going to sway the persuade the electorate to vote for tough on for labour. they are tough on the unions because they are very unpopular they're putting lives at risk. it's is very costly so what is the answer to any so but wait i can i'll be very accountable just ask these questions just how is gary just authentically because i'm this is why i guess it's so confuse saying because what goes behind closed doors in terms of strategies , what labour party or strategies, what labour party or conservative party , everything conservative party, everything else that they're playing with people's emotions in life in terms of who's going to get in, i feel like it's the x factor over again. but at least x factor is and killing people when is though then tv shows actually do it. but we're talking about a vast of people
10:38 pm
because of the union, maybe the x factor , i don't know, saying x factor, i don't know, saying itself killed people. so i just want to put that out there for the record. but saying that there is a signifier and not that this is what we're here to speak about, but there is significant wrongdoings and the reality tv world and creative industry culture as a whole where we have lost so many lives. if you look a love island, for example, is but i understand what you're saying in terms of the greater general population , that's what we're population, that's what we're talking about. i'm a little bit confused about hang on a minute. if we're talking about who's to blame, will really the government are there they are put or voted for in place with a role a position a responsive to handle things so that unions may not necessarily need to then go on strike . have to be tough with on strike. have to be tough with the unions because if you just accept whatever you have to be tough with criminals yesterday, tough with criminals yesterday, tough industry talking tough with industry talking about talking about it. we're not talking about it. we're not talking about you have to
10:39 pm
about that. but if you have to be tough unions because you be tough unions because if you just accept whatever they put forward the table obviously forward on the table obviously not deal with inflation not going to deal with inflation is the 19% that nurses are asking for . we love our nurses. asking for. we love our nurses. they deserve. but what would a pay they deserve. but what would a pay rise of 19% due to the national coffers and what's happened says salary. now, when's the last time we had pay rise? but this is what happened in the 1970s. they these huge demands for salary increase up to 30% and then costs spiral and then it doesn't solve anything it increases national borrowing and it leads to more financial turmoil if okay how does this resolve in the focusing on this one issue and mark raises a great question the question that in my view at least, keir starmer has to answer is will you give them the pay rise or . you give them the pay rise or. yeah, that's what the country needs to know. we can't vote for him as prime minister until we know the answer well. we'll never get an answer . know the answer well. we'll never get an answer. he's the king of sitting on the fence , king of sitting on the fence, isn't he? but he's hoping that will get him the line and get him number ten. although him into number ten. although it
10:40 pm
would chaos a labour would spell chaos under a labour government, it? but if government, wouldn't it? but if he's willing stage he's not willing at this stage to which side he's going to say which side he's going to pick he in, he'll have pick when he gets in, he'll have to and then all hell breaks loose in a lot of trouble loose races in a lot of trouble at moment he can't at the moment because. he can't bnng at the moment because. he can't bring the economy around on his own. he needs bit of luck. but the thing in his favour is he's got to years to wait for keir starmer's mess up . and that's starmer's mess up. and that's why keir starmer needs to raise his game if doesn't raise his game, then like i'm sorry to say harry kane is going to miss the post. yes, indeed. look at this story in the sunday telegraph. cut billion pounds of spending on projects. and please chancellor jeremy faces a rebellion from 80 tory mps over billion pounds worth of government spending on so—called woke projects , diversity targets woke projects, diversity targets and all the rest of it. lambert i'm not woke because i was actually discussing this with somebody today . if you're not somebody today. if you're not racist, if you're sexist, if
10:41 pm
you're not discriminatory, don't need laws and rules and investment to stop it . well investment to stop it. well diversity officers hundred . on diversity officers hundred. on the yeah it's unbelievable. and also the woke thing has actually now caused to be accused of being offensive when they just being offensive when they just be normal. we had an interesting of this when the 83 year old lady who served the royal family for a while. oh, yes, she's pulled down now. i wasn't there so can't really comment about the details but i'm concerned about the fact that we don't make allowance for the past . make allowance for the past. what a fundamental issue i've got here now that most people , got here now that most people, the uk are reasonable , they're the uk are reasonable, they're not racist, they're not discriminatory. but we're spending all this money, discriminatory. but we're spending all this money , £7 spending all this money, £7 billion, it's not going to change the economy, but it is causing us to be very cautious about the nhs. does it need departments diversity ? we heard departments diversity? we heard the . british spen d £10 million the. british spend £10 million a year on on diverse city roles.
10:42 pm
all they necessary? yeah, 100. 100. you know we in a diverse world a diverse country communities and the next and so on and so forth that . yeah, on and so forth that. yeah, absolutely. because we've seen historically and very sadly to see discrimination and that's why even though you say yourself that you, you may not be or you may not be, this is any other, but it is our responsibility . but it is our responsibility. give a voice and champion a change in protection , those that change in protection, those that hold them. but do you want the nhs when you'd rather the money went. yeah operate now 100% of the nhs and these we're talking about you know care homes we're talking just not people i just think people need to be, i think we should exercise an element of practicality, a of pragmatism. i think it is great. i with you there should be diversity and we
10:43 pm
are very diverse country. that's something should proud something we should be proud of, but should focusing but we should be focusing ultimately matters most. ultimately on what matters most. and nhs is in crisis and and the nhs is in crisis and i think we should be directing and channelling amounts money channelling huge amounts money lik e £7 billion towards saving like £7 billion towards saving nhs instead of these work projects that these mpc are talking to the chancellor about. i think that out of order and i think more needs to be done. so review where this money is being spent, when we an nhs on its hands and knees. have an interesting question though. if you you that if there you do you think that if there were the right law and legislation in place and through law enforcement that would follow the correct protocol and, law enforcement follow that code of ethics that, you know, being and everything else like that that we would need. and we would have my phone hacked . i was in have my phone hacked. i was in a meeting , the london met. i know meeting, the london met. i know i had my phone hacked because . i had my phone hacked because. i've spoken to the people who were approached afterwards did nothing about it. so not pretend
10:44 pm
the end of the day either. we are tolerant society or . not are tolerant society or. not spendin g £10 billion on spending £10 billion on pretending to be woke isn't going to be amongst them. i think anyone's pretending. i stand for by everybody very briefly. it's a great question earlier, which is what does work mean? even know what your mean? do we even know what your what understand it? what how do you understand it? 1920s. was about being 1920s. it was about being tolerant and being aware of it wasn't exactly described like this, but multiracial and issues a very worthy cause. but and thatis a very worthy cause. but and that is true. and if that's what wokeist, we're all woke, right? yes. most people. but it's been since then . now you're punished since then. now you're punished for not being woke enough. all right. that's not comfortable . right. that's not comfortable. what work mean now? then what does work mean now? then what version of woke what, is the new version of woke . i suppose it's just an illiberal outlook, isn't it? it's cancel culture . yeah. i it's cancel culture. yeah. i think it's sort of morphed into very vicious creature and it's just become this that consumes and the thing that doesn't by the ever changing and ever evolving moral standards that
10:45 pm
these lefties woke he awful people to preach from their high horse and. i think that is a shame because i would say that i'm woke in the traditional is where you exactly in the twenties way but now the modern day definition of woke just become this ugly repulsive and very vindictive label to attach on to someone and i can't stand it. i don't really like talking to anyone who's today's version work because they are illiberal , they're intolerant and they're very and nasty. katie i mean, if you see that online people that have pronouns , their twitter have pronouns, their twitter bios, the people say hashtag be kind , often anything but kind, often anything but anything but normally they're quite nasty bullies, you know? i mean , i, i, but like hashtag mean, i, i, but like hashtag because i know some of my tweets i think it's important to be kind, but does that mean what it means is katie waissel is woke and lovely. oh, i love her hair . i absolutely my fave. if only
10:46 pm

while to complete their front pages because of that big england story , but that could be england story, but that could be a good news story that ryan mark parsons brexit bill on ice amid hopes of nuclear deal with the so this refers to the northern ireland brexit protocol bill. this would give the government the right to essentially trigger article 16 to get rid of that border down irish sea. but it may not come to that and here's hoping it doesn't. well, exactly but i think it's a good thing that there's more time for negotiators to review the scenes. previously, before rishi bofis scenes. previously, before rishi boris johnson put through legislation . but i think coming legislation. but i think coming out in valentine's day , allowing out in valentine's day, allowing more time to sure that everything is put in place properly. well, if rishi sunak gets a deal with the eu with brussels, which works for them and it works most importantly the people of northern ireland, that's big win for rishi sunak, isn't it ? that is a that is a isn't it? that is a that is a foreign and economy for him and a political trial. it'll be a
10:52 pm
significant political triumph for rishi sunak and i think that might carry forwards into next year momentum. yeah, exactly . year momentum. yeah, exactly. what do you think? i mean, could that be an easy win for rishi sunak if sold south and all on a practical. it's not an easy win and it won't be a big for him. sorry to say across the uk. most people i was born in northern ireland, was a shadow ireland, i was a shadow secretary state for more for secretary of state for more for a most people didn't a decade. most people didn't understand and didn't care understand and they didn't care about it . and boris johnson's about it. and boris johnson's great failure wasn't the parties. it was his failure to make any kind of significant economic deal with the eu . they economic deal with the eu. they run rings around him , so maybe run rings around him, so maybe we can get . i hope that you're we can get. i hope that you're right. maybe we can get something here. but there's nothing in it for brussels. make this easy, because italy and greece aren't too happy about being in the eu. and the more uncomfortable it makes it look to leave , the worse it's going to leave, the worse it's going to leave, the worse it's going to be for us. but also the same time when it comes down to it, it means it's more likely that

the others won't leave. desperate parents search for strep a as prices soar. desperate parents search for strep a as prices soar . lots of strep a as prices soar. lots of parents and, grandparents really worried their little ones. kate. yeah, absolute . i mean, there yeah, absolute. i mean, there was news recently and my son's school and have children that with confirmed cases of a shutdown is very frightening as i said to you before and it becomes even more real when it's very close to and it's i just wish there was a little more transparency and as to kind of get clarity is why is this is happening then what we can do to work alongside the nhs to help with you know maintaining a i guess kind of like a strong and calm head throughout that it's frightening . this is a like a frightening. this is a like a horror story because just we're scared about the media and scared about the media and scared about the messages that we get. well, do you think it really is dangerous? because
10:54 pm
i've got kids, young kids , but i i've got kids, young kids, but i don't think that much in danger . well, it's now saying that 16 children have caught the infection that has led fatal infection that has led to fatal sepsis for centuries and what percentage of kids show any ? percentage of kids show any? obviously, it's a fraction, but at same these would at the same these i guess would be kids that are that be healthy kids that are that are dying. these are real figures coming out. it's figures are coming out. it's devastating and it doesn't matter if one is too many i mean i hate to use the l word lockdowns has been linked. health chiefs suggested that because haven't been to because kids haven't been to school a couple of years and school for a couple of years and mixed picked up bugs mixed and picked up these bugs they've with they've got a problem with i mean i could be. my whole family's got at the family's got my cough at the moment be better in like moment they'll be better in like a month's time and they won't get again. i think that get it again. i think that i don't want to reopen this. i know you stand this. know where you stand on this. i think that we make ridiculous assumptions polit tics can assumptions that polit tics can control viruses . they can't control viruses. they can't control viruses. they can't control it, but they can definitely with giving more transparent and the of what's out most certainly. i understand why parents sit beside themselves . this why parents sit beside themselves. this is quite an
10:55 pm
interesting story . it themselves. this is quite an interesting story. it might be the future san francisco police proposal use potentially deadly robots so that's right it potentially robots as these kind of mechanical police officers is dangerous or is it the start of something good? there was also story last month about a robot that saved someone's life in, a cancer operation . so is a.i. and cancer operation. so is a.i. and all good or bad for mankind? let have you seen robocop because robocop was the good guy and there's something like ac oh five which is the bad one and that's the one that goes crazy in the office, right? yeah yeah, yeah, yeah so i actually used to work for a robot company called star ship and it delivers your product to your house and it's benign lovely thing they're while in milton keynes is the genie's out the lamp now isn't it. but they didn't have guns that's a difference. i don't really trust anything which looks a little bit too much like terminator i these robots are
10:56 pm
quite investible ryan mark yeah i guess is an investment opportunity there, but at the same not invest same time i would not invest robots, especially robots with gunsi robots, especially robots with guns i mean we saw, for example in arizona , in 2018 this uber in arizona, in 2018 this uber driver that was , well, this uber driver that was, well, this uber car that was self—driving , car that was self—driving, right? and i think there's a real risk with technology. it's fully autonomous. it can be dangerous , lethal. so now i'm dangerous, lethal. so now i'm i won't be investing any my any of my money. they should use the money these robots to actually educate their current police officers . yeah maybe maybe the officers. yeah maybe maybe the robots colour—blind . well that robots colour—blind. well that could be a good thing. yeah. well that's an idea. i'm can i say you've been the most delightful panel tonight loved our right back at you . our debate right back at you. there you go, ryan. mark ledbetter and katie do come back soon. thanks for your company as well. a really fun well. it's been a really fun evening. lots great debate as evening. lots of great debate as well. back tomorrow at. well. we're back tomorrow at. see then headline is his see you then headline is his next looking ahead to this evening's weather and the uk is
