that she shoots from the hip that, you know, in some ways she's termed affectionately a difficult woman, that sometimes she is too controversial, generates headlines. i'm thinking about the row around maternity pay for example. you know, is this what the tories need at this point? somebody who could perhaps be getting negative headlines? >> well, actually, to be fair, both candidates are exceptional people and all six finalists were friends of mine. and i think that's sometimes underestimated by the media. we all made a difficult choice on who to back, but i've worked really closely with kemi. i was a junior minister when she was business and trade minister, and i've seen the side of her that is incredibly dedicated, incredibly hardworking, very, very knowledgeable about business. she does attract headunes business. she does attract headlines and sometimes the media misinterpret those those comments for a variety of reasons. but she's forthright in her views and she's always articulating core conservative principles. now, not everybody likes that. so she often comes under attack, but she can take that attack .
