familiar. for a start. but ministers are preparing to strike a series of italy style deals . deals. >> well, sir keir starmer went to rome in september. i was on that trip and i was very struck by the fact that rishi sunak, the previous pm, had a fantastic relationship with giorgia meloni. this right wing figure, and sir keir starmer seems to be taking a very pragmatic approach. we were there, he was very interested to learn from italy because italy, right at the sharp end of the migration crisis, of course, they've managed to get the numbers coming illegally into italy down by 60, i think 62% based on the same period last year, largely by doing deals with tunisia and libya and paying them to increase security, to stop people leaving from there. and also to encourage people to stay where they are. so we are looking at similar agreements
