to headliners for the very latewhat wants to get away >> what he wants to get away with the inheritance on taxes, on farmers, the 20% they. he says that the numbers are backed by the bbc. >> so he says the numbers are back rather than the moral position, the justification for it. >> you know, i saw her, i saw victoria derbyshire, who i like a lot interviewing the guy on the front page here who's only 64 years old, by the way, jeremy clarkson, two years from me, he's done a lot of farming, i guess, because he looks like he's really experienced the outdoors. but she was interviewing him and he kept claiming that she was asking. she was expressing her opinion . she was expressing her opinion. when she asked questions about his position on inheritance tax. he claimed in an article in the sunday times, i think in 2021, that he bought a farm so he could avoid inheritance tax . could avoid inheritance tax. now, he says, now that he bought a farm so he could shoot . yeah, a farm so he could shoot. yeah, but when she asked that question, he said, oh, typical bbc, why are you expressing your opinions? she's like, i'm not. i'm asking you a question. it's not my opinion. and by the way,
2:05 am
you did say that a few years ago. i don't know why he's trying to avoid the question. just say he's supposed to be the man of the people. just say that's why you did it. i think these farmers would understand. they don't mind. they like personal investment as opposed to international investment in soil, which they think is going to happen. this is going to affect about 500 farms or farmers , apparently. and the farmers, apparently. and the amount that they're going to gain is about 500 million on a $40 billion budget. it's a lot of pain for what the farmers think is very little gain. but i think is very little gain. but i think the bbc is saying, well, the money has to come from somewhere. privately, they're saying you voted for it, now you get it. >> so are you. >> are you? i mean, there seems to be two separate issues here. one saying that the prime minister claims the bbc has backed him over the legitimacy of their numbers. yes, but the picture and the jeremy clarkson story is clarkson. there was a rather. yeah, bad, bad tempered exchange between him and victoria derbyshire in which he felt he was being given a number of leading questions and. well, i think these are two separate issues. >> i think the photo is because
2:06 am
he's a previous bbc employee. that's why, and i think the photo of him on the front page, he's a national treasure. it sells papers and i think also people didn't know that he was associated with this situation until a day or two ago. and so i think he's trying to kind of get some more press and publication for his own series. i think there's a lot of little games going on here, which the truth is that , again, the money, it's is that, again, the money, it's got to come from someplace , you got to come from someplace, you know, and we're going to talk about it later about you can say it has to come from someplace. >> arguably, they could just stop spending it. >> well, no, the money has to our lives are kind of i don't know if you've noticed, but a lot of people's lives in this know if you've noticed, but a lot of people's lives in this country are falling apart. and country are falling apart. and that includes the safety net that includes the safety net that includes the safety net that used to, i think, protect a that includes the safety net that used to, i think, protect a lot of people, including lot of people, including seniors. you know. seniors. you know. >> well, there's a third issue >> well, there's a third issue which you haven't covered at which you haven't covered at all, which is the fact that i've all, which is the fact that i've got the chair that's falling got the all, w down again. it's always someone gets this chair. it's yeah, it's slow, but i thought i was fine for a few moments, but i'm slowly sinking. so don't take me less seriously as i go down. but yes . so clarkson was there. of yes. so clarkson was there. of course speaking, there was a few

celebrities. lloyd webber was there. lord lloyd webber flew in from new york. probably turn this into a musical at some point. and yeah, so, so you have basically clarkson saying that the bbc is a mouthpiece for labour rather than just hamas. now . and, and the government are now. and, and the government are pretty much saying the same thing , which i don't think making pretty much saying the same thing, which i don't think is a very good look on them, really. they don't really want to show the bbc is siding. that's the odd thing. but it is more to do with, as you say , bbc verify. with, as you say, bbc verify. although bbc verify has been caught out now on so many occasions, i'm not sure. >> well, they are a news organisation. well part of their job is to verify facts isn't it. really. that's what they do. >> yes. but then some of their verified facts have also been verified facts have also been verified by other people showing that it's not always that accurate. >> that could be true of the network. we're still very arguable as to what you include in it or not. >> it's difficult. i've got very mixed feelings on the whole thing because, you know, i think there is truth that farms have been used as a tax loophole. you give someone a farm and they get out of tax completely. at the same time, this is hitting small farms and i've tried to follow it all. a lot of farms aren't
