gbnews.com/alerts. >> good evening everybody. go outside and look around. there's a good chance that more than half the people you see are on the take. welcome to benefits britain. shocking. new stats show that 52.6% of the british population claim more in benefits than they pay in tax, 52.6% of people. why do you bother going out and working your backside off, doing overtime, missing time with your family just so that you can get taxed more than ever to subsidise the lives of the bone, idle, lazy and the feckless? 35 million people have received more in benefits than they paid into the system. now, some of these people will genuinely need benefits. some of these people are pensioners. some of them are genuinely unwell. fine, absolutely. but loads of them obviously aren't okay. there

were 3.01 million young people, aged 16 to 24, who were economically inactive. that is an inactivity rate of 41%. 9.3 million brits are neither in a job or looking for a job. 6.4 million people were on universal credit at the start of this yeah credit at the start of this year. 2.8 million people are signed off on long term sick. 4.2 million are claiming incapacity and disability benefits. look. rubbish. absolute rubbish. why work when you can go to the doctors? say you're feeling a bit stressed. yeah, and a bit down and. bingo! out comes the sicknote and in comes the benefits money. i think a lot of people are taking the mickey. frankly, i do think they're on the take. and we had 11 billion quid's worth of benefits fraud last year, £11 billion. a bulgarian fraud gang conned the taxpayer out of £53

million worth of dodgy benefits claims. there are probably entire towns in bulgaria that british taxpayers have built locals driving around in porsches that you've paid for. 1.68 million people born outside of the uk are either unemployed or economically inactive. so look. hey, next time you get your paycheque, think about how many hours you've had to work that month just so that you can pay that month just so that you can pay for a migrant to live here for free. i don't think that figure even includes the hundreds of thousands of asylum seekers we have languishing around the place. you'll be paying around the place. you'll be paying for their housing, their food, their phones, their pocket money, their health care, their dentists, everything. we've got parents on the take as well. the number of parents claiming disability benefits for children with conditions like adhd or autism has surged by 200,000 since lockdown. i mean, just get stuffed. seriously? more than 730,000 under 18 seconds are now

the subject of disability living allowance, so it's become a career choice to say that your kid has got adhd. we have a ridiculous situation where families on benefits are better off than people who are earning 70 grand a year. there are too many scroungers in britain. i am sick of it. you're sick of it. we're all sick of it. in fact, i'm so sick of it i might start claiming sickness benefits. and i bet that they'd let me do that as well. let's get a thought from our panel this evening. we've got political consultant suzanne evans. we've got the wonderful journalist and broadcaster benjamin butterworth, and we've also got the founder of global britain, amanda bogle. suzanne, what do we do about the feckless work? shy and the lazy? >> it's really bad, isn't it, patrick? you know, i don't mind paying patrick? you know, i don't mind paying taxes, but what i really object to is paying taxes and seeing it wasted. and it's not just benefits it's being wasted on. it's all kinds of things right across the whole spectrum of government. but you're spot on. people
