dead after truck flying. isis flag drives into crowd in new orleans. and the express has terror driver hell bent on carnage kills ten. and finally, the paper leads with covid courts to stay open as backlog delays trials to 2028. so shall we have a look at the front page? welcome. first of all, how are you? how are you doing? >> yeah. good. thanks. >> yeah. good. thanks. >> it feels so austere to just stop, like, get on with it. i feel like i should say something nice first, but we're quite pragmatic, man. you are. you're quite right. we're just treating it as news producing units now. >> not really people. >> not really people. >> interchangeable units in starmer's new utopia. >> go on. okay, i've learned my lesson. let's have a look at the guardian, please, leo. >> yeah. so the guardian leads with a story that is obviously the big story today. >> the horrifying story? >> the horrifying story? >> ten dead. well, that's now 15 dead after truck flying. islamic state flag drives into crowd in new orleans. >> and this is shamsuddin
11:06 pm
jabban >> and this is shamsuddin jabbar, a classic welsh christian name. >> there he's driven a driven a truck into into the crowd and then going on a rampage. >> he's been shot dead. >> he's been shot dead. >> there are apparently five accomplices, as many as five on the loose in new orleans who haven't been tracked down yet. so this is disturbing. >> what's also interesting is that the authorities took measures to sort of suppress some of the evidence. >> so they covered or apparently covered the islamic state flag with a jacket. i don't know if that's to sort of stop tensions being inflamed. we're always told we need to worry about, you know, community cohesion and community tensions and stuff when, you know, i'd say maybe if islamists stop killing people, that might help community cohesion a little bit. so they hid the flag with the with a jacket. and it's also sparked a debate about the sort of the ongoing clash of cultures. you know, we've got some people saying, you know, do we deal with this or people on the left
11:07 pm
say, no, this is just, you know, we're going to get to our multicultural utopia eventually. this is, you know, just a bump in the road. so, so they're saying, you know, we don't we don't deal with this. >> yeah. i mean, there's also speculation about apparently he did pass through eagle pass in texas. but that was in november. that car passed through there because people were saying he came across the border. but apparently that was in november. >> some people are asking, so i've been reading about this on twitter, trump saying implying that he'd come from somewhere else. then i watched a video of this guy speaking. i thought, no, he's clearly an american. >> yeah, that's what it is. is it? the car travelled allegedly across the border in november. that's what i heard. so apparently people are asking why these barriers weren't up. there are normally barriers that weren't put up for some reason. and. but yeah, the fact that you had an isis flag, it does make it very difficult for the sort of lefty type people who like to deny these things and try and play deny these things and try and play down that it's terrorism. it's like you've got a literal is flag in the car. >> it's like i heard rumours earlier in the office that it was being reported as a black flag, with some white writing on it. >> yeah, well, they're not wrong. well, and some people were saying that trump trump
11:08 pm
supporters have a black flag. sometimes they were saying, oh, it could be a white supremacist. and, you know, there's a lot of speculation before, but we sort of knew i mean, there's colter's law and colter's law that says the longer they take to reveal the longer they take to reveal the identity of the suspect, the more likely it is to not be a white supremacist. and what's also interesting is, you know, a few weeks ago, the muslim council of britain were criticising gb news for covering stories about islamists, and it would really help us. yeah, mainly me, it would really help is not cover stories about islamists. if islamists stopped driving cars into people during christmas, during new year's celebrations and killing people. i mean, we've got to talk about it. it's on the front cover of the paper. >> of course, the guardian are talking about it. so, yeah, the guardian are talking about you're talking about the barriers. are you suggesting that there's been some foul play and that they were saying, that's what i saw on twitter and i'm just irresponsibly repeating it. >> but no, i it.— >> but no, i mean, it. >> but no, i mean, that's what they said. >> as long as you're clear about
